our big story at nine: relief for a waukesha family. 10-year-old andrew ounkham oon-come - a young boy with autism - is found safe after he wandered away from his home sunday. now, were hearing from the two teens who found him. our a.j. bayatpour talked to the two waukesha west students and now joins us live from outside school... adam lembke had a volleyball match here tonight. nothing he couldve done on the court would top what he and his friend connor kubiak did this morning. actually, my family and i are really close friends with their family. i know my sister goes over to play with andrews brother. adam lembke was part of the massive search sunday night for 10-year-old andrew ounkham. when the search for the boy with monday, lembke says he and connor kubiak werent sure if they should go back out since there were already so many volunteers...but nate kostolni said... couple more people couldnt hurt at all so why dont we just go out and try it. with the schools blessing, these three are among the students who looking for ounkham. actually, im terrible with directions so i pretty much just followed adam. i know where their house is. i know the general direction of where he went so i decided theres nobody looking over there; theyre all looking closer to west here. sure enough...about a mile into the cornfield in that direction... we were just kind of walking, deciding where to go next and go around the corner. adam said call 9-1-1 right now! we think we found the child thats missing. were just walking through the field. hes kind of listening to us a little bit. he was just walking and talking and laughing and stuff. i kept looking over at adam, like, what is happening right now? as for nate, he had split off with another friend. i went and texted adam and asked if him and connor were the ones that found the kid and i got a text back saying yeah we did it. and youre lembke says while the attention theyve gotten today is pretty cool, he doesnt think they were heroic. he believes, with the amount of people out looking, someone was gonna find andrew. hes just glad they were able to get to him before it got any later. live in waukesha, a.j. bayatpour, fox 6 news. a ton of relief for andrew's family tonight. his mom was watching andrew ride his scooter outside their home yesterday afternoon. she briefly went inside-- and he disappeared. you know you think im going to find him because hes done this before and then you think where is he? and try not to think of the worst. its overwhelming and unbelievable how many people the call for help to find the missing boy garnered an overwhelming response. nearly one thousand volunteers answered the call. fox6's julie collins shares their efforts. "if youd like to help today..." early monday morning the call for help went out - and the community answered. 'i just kept thinking if my child was missing i would want other people to be out searching for her.' 'waukesha west high school is where all meet...police officers say at one point there were 300 cars filled with volunteers in this parking lot ready to help.' 'its a bad feeling....tugs on your heart strings, we gotta find him.' each volunteer checked in at rivers crossing park - they were separated into groups of 10 to 15 people...led by a law enforcement agent they spread across that were going through a small quadrant of the marsh over and over to make sure he wasnt running through.' enduring long hours and tough conditions... 'whether we were walking through yards for a little bit or we were in the marsh in the heavy stuff we had no idea if when the deer ran out it was going to be him or not so it was really nice to see no matter what we never got tired and we just kept going.' after nearly 18 hours - andrew was found safe. 'its just unbelievable and overwhelming and amazing how many his mother overwhelmed by the support, spoke to reporters outside her house. 'this just brings humanity, perseverance, of all these volunteers who came out and wanted to help and be very positive. andrews mother went on to thank the community for their compassion during those difficult hours. the amount of volunteers was so great around 9 oclock this morning the waukesha police stopped accepting the help. a true testament to the support they received from this collins fox 6 news. we have much more on our web page- go to fox 6 now dot com -- to hear the 9- 1-1 call that led to andrew being found safe -- and hear the family's reaction. the waukesha county sheriffs office is investigating what sparked 35 school buses to go up in flames. crews responded to dousman transportation company in the town of merton around one oclock yesterday afternoon. fox6s madeline anderson is live there with more on the fires impact on the environme those who rely on the buses. fortunately... no one was on board the buses. they were parked in this lot behind me where they remain tonight. a spokeswoman with the waukesha county sheriffs department says the area is being treated as a crime scene... something thats typical for these kinds of incidents. a day after fire fighters spent up to six hours putting out 35 school buses engulfed in flames... the focus shifts to clean up at dousman had a fire, that fuel would probably go up in the fire. a lot of that diesel might have burned up in the fire last night. but when theyre throwing water on it and its maybe coming out of the tanks, its also flowing out with the runoff. :49 keith hitzke runs northshore environmental construction... his crews respond to fuel spills. hitzke estimates 200 to 400 gallons of diesel from the buses may have contamint 19:15 we were fortunate that it never went into the wetlands down here. now were basically removing the surface impacts, well be sampling that area. officials from the atf and the waukesha sheriff's department were also on scene. a sheriffs spokeswoman says as is typical with these incidents... the fire will be treated as a crime scene until investigators determine the cause to be arson or an accident. 18:20 i do feel sorry for the bus drivers. this is a personal loss for them. its the equipment that they drive, its their company, their jobs. dousman has contracts with drivers for districts like hartland-lakeside. superintendent glenn schilling says despite the loss ... dousman was able to find replacement buses in time for monday mornings routes. everything went as usual. you wouldnt have known anything went wrong. :20 a building on the property was also destroyed in the fire. reporting in waukesha county... madeline anderson fox6 news. bret thanks madeline a team of milwaukee leaders announcing tonight -- they plan to remove the required county board approval. a joint statement was released by a group that includes mayor tom barrett and county executive chris abele. there' s a plan in place to rezone the land surrounding the dam -- and sell it to the milwaukee metropolitan sewage district for one dollar. the group says the dam is a flood risk-- declared a public nuisance by the department of natural resources. supporters of keeping the dam have said it is good for recreation and moves forward, mmsd would take over the project of removing the dam-- and the park land at estabrook would remain a milwaukee county park. with the decision making power taken away from the county board-- the chairman is not happy. theo lipscomb released a statement saying ..."on its face, this is undemocratic: it substitutes an unelected body and political appointees in place of citizens elected representatives." lipscomb goes on to question the practical and legal ramifications if this new plan from barrett and abele we have a good chance of fog again tonight, with lows in the mid 50s. by tomorrow, highs will be back into the low 70s. tonight: partly cloudy with patchy fog. low: 55 dewpoint: 54 wind: e/se 3-5 mph stay ahead of the weather with the new fox 6 storm center available on android and apple. packers..... after enjoying their bye week, they return to the practice field today.... and they return to game action sunday night when they host the new york giants at lambeau field..... tim van vooren joins us with a green and gold update in the blitz.... stephanie and bret, normally a team would rather have its bye in the middle of the season, but given the fact that green bay had a fair amount of early season injuries, the timing isn't too bad for the pack in 2016.... still no sam shields or jared cook, but otherwise, it's a team has three home games coming up in an eleven day stretch, starting with this sunday night, followed by a 3:25 start and then a thursday night game.... coach mike mccarthy is known for self-scouting during byes and then revealing some changes out of the break.... we'll see if that happens in 2016, but it is clear he's in football mode.... spinning - milwaukee county executive chris abele's pitch for a "wheel tax," coming up. break break milwaukee police say the four-year-old boy who died after a shooting -- was killed by a self-inflicted gunshot wound. it happened friday night in a home near 15-th and north. authorities tell us the boy's 21-year-old moth arrested and charged with leaving a firearm near a child. she has since been released and that charge will be reviewed next week by the milwaukee county district attorney's office. regardless of the cause -- the loss of a small child's life is challenging for any family. so now -- the salvation army has a few dozen chaplains chipping in. justin williams shares the story. as they gather to grieve ... we need to come together, you know, 'n' just, ... we just need to come together. relatives of four-year-old sadness, everybody's devasted, at this point in time. with support from the salvation army. no one is ever prepared for this. sunday, this vigil honors the boy's short life, after -- according to milwaukee police -- he died as the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound friday. among the crowd is a representative of the salvation army's chaplaincy program. the main thing that we do is service emergency chaplains to scenes that the police call us out to ... the milwaukee police department participate in the program since may 2016. it provides the proverbial 'shoulder to cry on' for folks who find themselves struggling with a sudden loss. we provide emotional and spiritual care, at the scene -- immediately, and then we look to connect those families with resources. these resources can include grief counseling, scene clean-up -- even food. the program is still, relatively unknown, but it is being noticed by neighbors. there was a neighbor, as i was packing up, who said, here. you guys are really professional, and we thank you for what you do.' the salvation army chaplaincy program is always looking to partner with the latest. i'm justin williams, fox 6 news. the milwaukee man accused of shooting and killingl august is facing charges. prosecutors say 24-year-old dennis brookshire drove up next to raglund's vehicle near 22-nd and keefe during a funeral procession and fired shots into the car. raglund was shot five times and died at the scene. brookshire faces charges of first degree reckless homicide and felony bail jumping. the father of the 6 year old boy who shot his brother pleads not guilty today. dominique phillips faces charges of possession of a firearm by a felon and leaving a loaded prosecutors say phillips left his firearm on top of a kitchen cabinet. that's where his 6-year-old son found it-- accidentally shooting his 9-year- old brother. he's recovering from his injuries. the boys' mother-- nicole jackson-- is also facing charges for the incident. roundy's supermarkets is making narcan readily available without a prescription. they announced today they'll make the life-saving opioid antidote available at it's 70 pick n' save, copps, and metro market pharmacies throughout the state. pharma screening and training before customers receive a narcan kit. each kit contains two doses of the narcan nasal spray. getting a handle on public safety is an enormous task -- and a city committee needs your help to tackle it. today the public safety committee spent almost community building can break down walls quickly and build real trust and collaborations for long term success we need real dialogues conversation and healing around race and segregation in milwaukee in how they're being used, after seeing results of a recent study. the use of body cameras when officers do not have the ability to turn them off and aon tat that eir discretion improves their policing and professionalism and improves how citizens interact all residents will have a chance to voice concerns about safety and make recommendations to the proposed safety action plan. each wisconsin will once again be a hot spot on the presidential campaign trail this week... we've learned donald trump will be in our area once again on saturday -- but details of where and when have not been announced. meanwhile -- donald trump junior on wednesday morning. as for the democrats -- vermont senator bernie sanders will campaign for hillary clinton in madison and green bay on wednesday. then next monday -- clinton's daughter chelsea will make another stop in our state... details of her event have not been released. the john doe investigation into governor scott walker's 2012 recall campaign -- is officially over. it never resulted in criminal charges. but, after a huge leak last month, we know what political reporter theo keith in our newsroom with the consequences -- and what happens next. among dozens of other cases came these words from the u-s supreme court: "the petition is denied."no explanation. it wasn't a surprise -- even to those who supported the john doe investigation. in any given year, the court grants 1 point something percent of petitions for certeriori investigators were looking into whether governor the state supreme court slammed the door on the case last year, ruling that the activity was legal. prosecutors appealed to the u-s supreme court -- and then came the document leak. hundreds of emails leaked to the british newspaper the routes. abele also wants to raise the minimum wage for county employees ... to 15 dollars an hour over five years. he wants more money for employment programs in neighborhoods like sherman park. and he wants funding for emergency administration of the drug narcan ... in cases of heroin overdose. as you know, over labor day weekend i think it was 12 overdose deaths. but the meeting ends on a sour abele makes this announcement. i actually have a meeting about now with some other legislators which is about updating them on this budget. board members are angry by his departure... and not done asking questions. it's unfortunate that he left. he planned less than an hour of his time to present a one billion dollar budget. this is a meeting that was set with them for several weeks, it was actually set prior to this meeting being called by the chairman. now begins a month of deliberation by the milwaukee county board. the public will get its chance to give input on october 31st. news. life has changed a lot for packers defensive end mike daniels since being drafted in the 4th round of the 2012 draft. he's turned into a leader on defense, got a new contract in the off-season and one with hands on hips, one with hands above head. turn head from side to side, looking for any changes in contour of the breast, skin dimpling, color changing like redness or any changes of the nipples, like inversion or discharge. the second part -- actually 'feeling' th lying down "and" standing up. fingers should be together, feel the breast in a circular motion, covering the entire breast ... work from top to bottom, side- to- side, or in circles coming around the nipple using different pressure...light for superficial tissue and deep pressure to feel deep tissue doctor siker says there "is" a fear some women have about doing self- exams -- but adds it eventually gets easier and self-breast exams, size doesnt matter -
