on charlotte, north carolina tonight. a third night of protests is underway... and the mayor has now issued a curfew that takes effect at midnight. this is a live picture of the protests, which have so far been peaceful tonight. protests earlier this week did turn violent... one protester has died after being shot last night, although city officials say he was not shot by police. the protests stem from the fatal shooting of keith lamont scott.. who tuesday. the shooting was caught on video - and while the scott family was allowed to watch the video today - the police chief is refusing to make it public, saying it would put crime victims at risk. chief kerr putney/charlotte- mecklenburg police "i get it, i do; i understand the whole dynamic and the definition of transparency" the chief says the video shows that scott refused to drop his weapon... although members of the scott family say it's impossible to tell if he had anything in his hands. the tulsa police officer who shot and killed an unarmed officer betty shelby is now charged with manslaughter. she is the officer who shot terence crutcher. police video shows crutcher with his hands in the air... walking towards an suv... just before the fatal shot was fired. it is important to note that despite the heighten tensions felt by all which, seemingly, beg for an emotional response and reaction, our community has consistently demonstrated a willingness to officer shelby told investigators she repeatedly told mr. crutcher to stop... and she thought he was reaching into the car for a weapon when she fired. if convicted, she faces between 4 years and life in prison. it's been three months since a deadly officer-involved shooting in wauwatosa. the family of jay anderson wants to know why police have released such little this point is that at 3 a-m on june 23rd, anderson was seated in his car at madison park. police say he was in possession of a gun and something happened to make an officer fear for his safety. today, the anderson family says it wants the officer's name to be made public, considering the officer's names have been released in recent shootings in tulsa and charlotte. they also want the body camera video released.... i want to know what happened before my son was shot and murdered. i want to know what wauwatosa police said thursday they don't want to release evidence in "bits and pieces," adding all the evidence will eventually be released - but at once. the milwaukee county d-a's office is reviewing the case. a spokesman says the f-b-i is now trying to improve the clarity of the body camera footage. milwaukee police have made an arrest... after a 9 year old is shot by a 6 year old. the 9 year old boy remains in the hospital, after being shot in the neck and hadley last night. investigators say the two children had been playing with a loaded gun. police have taken a 30 year old woman into custody... recommending that she be charged with leaving a loaded firearm near children. the case will be forwarded to the district attorneys office in the coming days. two people are dead, after a car crashes into a department of public works truck. the crash happened near 76th and sheridan around 9-30 this morning. truck was pulling a wood chipper-- when it was hit by the car the 20-year-old woman riding in that car died on the scene. the driver later died at the hospital. the two people in the d-p-w truck were not injured. the 14-year old appleton teen who made national headlines for her decision to die... has passed away. jerika bolen died in hospice care today-- she was battling an incurable disease... a grafton man with the same disease wanted jerika to fight. fox6s bret lemoine with his heartbroken.' grafton resident jordan schroeter says these images of an impending end... just didnt feel right. js 'someone needs to come out and say, theres more value here than what we know.' all 14-year old jerika bolen wanted before she died was a prom. her classmates and family threw her a special one at the end of july. jb 'it makes my heart explode. its so crazy! that people want to come for little me!' to turn off her ventilator at the end of the summer. schroeter lives with the same disease bolen had - spinal muscular atrophy. after hearing about bolens decision to end her life... schroeter leaned on his faith... and recorded this facebook video... fb 'jerika bolan, if you are watching this, please dont do this!' ...encouraging her to live. js 'no matter what anyone tells you or makes you believe. there is always hope. theres always a choice.' since his video went viral... schroeter gotten so many messages from people who are suicidal... suffering from their own pain.' he hopes no matter how long you have on this earth... you decide to make the most of it. js 'so many people dont realize they have that gift. but only a few will use that gift to go out and help other people.' schroeters original facebook video was viewed 54-thousand times. he says he will continue praying for the bolen family every night. bl, fox6 news. mary thanks bret severe weather in western wisconsin is blamed for at least one death. a man was killed in the town of victory.... - south of la crosse - when a mudslide pushed his home onto a state highway. up to 10 inches of rain have fallen across the region... causing severe flooding and mudslides. today, governor walker declared a state of emergency in 13 counties because of the floods. that will help local governments get the heavy rain also cost a few people their boats! in the end - the milwaukee county board votes to confirm human services director hector colon. but it came with a compromise. instead of the usual 4-year term, colon will serve two. a move the county executive agreed to. board members called for more transparency from colon in the future.
