a man is in jail right now charged with the murder of his ex-girlfriend. the richland county coroner says 19-year-old deanndra roach died from deputies say her body was found next to her car in a field off farrow road in afternoon. a passerby discovered the victim just 2 miles away from her home. the suspect, 22-year-old andre went before a judge yesterday at glenn detention center, where he'll remain until his next bond hearing. a richland county sheriff's department spokesman says deputies were able to track down heatley after he allegedly used the victim's debit card in several places moments after the shooting. our mike desumma spoke with those who knew this young girl -- that say they cannot make sense of this tragedy. shooting suspect caught --- columbia blythewood nat: family praying outside of the alvin s. glen detention center saturday there was time for prayer. for david and cynthia roach time to grieve. 4:19:31 "i remember her smile the most." 4:19:32 county officials delivered the sad news that their 19 year old daughter deanndra known to everyone as dee dee had been shot to death. nat: car passes her body left by her car parked off farrow road was found late friday by a passerby. all before deputies charged 22 year old andre heatley jr. with murder. lt. curtis wilson --- richland co sheriff's dept. 4:00:01 "basically he's an ex boyfriend of the victim and that's how we were able to tie sheriff's dept. 3:59:27 "we were able to question him." 3:59:29 "and also we were able to find out that the suspect also used the victim's credit card." 3:59:36 authorities say surveillance video shows heatley using that card at three now will continue to be held behind bars. ivory thigpen --- pastor, 'rehoboth baptist church' 4:21:21 "there's no doubt in my mind that she had a bright future ahead of her and the sky life. they say she had just graduated from blythewood high school and had the dream of one day joining the air force. she also was very active in her church as a member of the youth ministry and church' 4:19:34 "part of the difficult thing now is every time i think i see her exiting justice." 4:21:45 heatley's bond will be discussed at a future court date yet to be decided. in addition to murder, he has also been charged with armed robbery, accused of stealing and using the victim's debit card. deanndra roach's family says they are in the process of making funeral arrangements. two aiken men are wanted for attempted murder. investigators say -- shortly before 1 o'clock saturday afternoon officers responded to shots fired on newberry street. the victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. officers are still trying to determine if this shooting has any connection to a nearby friday night shooting on brown lane. if you know where 29- year-old christopher johnson or 22-year-old davashae rhodes might be -- call crimestoppers at 1-888-crime-sc. columbia police are investigating a reported around 3:30 saturday morning -- a woman says an armed man kidnapped her -- taking her to barnwell street where he reportedly sexually assaulted her. after the crime, the victim went to her apartment where her roommate called 9-1-1. the victim believes she briefly spoke with the suspect in the hallway of an apartment complex. if you have an information to help investigators call crimestoppers. one man is in jail this morning accused of assaulting a richland county deputy. it happened friday afternoon on turkey oak court in blythewood. deputies say william richards was assaulting his mother when they responded to the domestic call. when a deputy tried to intervene, the suspect reportedly started fighting him. the suspect has been charged with assault and battery and resisting arrest. the deputy was not hurt. adrienne quattlebaum is also behind bars. deputies say they responded to a home on when the victim told them quattlebaum pulled out a pocket knife and cut him after a verbal altercation. the victim was taken to the hospital, while the suspect was taken to a nearby detention center. health officials say three people in south carolina are being tested for the zika virus, but no cases of the disease have been confirmed yet. department officials say those being tested had traveled to one of the 24 countries with widespread zika. zika is a mosquito-borne virus that's been strongly linked to severe birth defects. the most common symptoms are fever, rash, joint pain and conjunctivitis you have until midnight to sign up for health insurance through the affordable care act. and for those choosing not to sign up -- the penalty has increased. the penalty is now 695 dollars or 2 percent of your income - whichever is greater. in most cases, the penalty could end up costing you more than what several months of a premium keep in mind, you may be eligible for federal assistance or subsidies to reduce the premium.
