generally 1 to 3 along the coastline. close to the city of boston, maybe an inch or two of snow. higher totals settling off to the south. now, there is a winter storm watch posted along the immediate south coast of new england here, stretching essentially from cape cod back through the islands, down through buzzards bay and along that 95 stretch into connecticut. if there are towns that will exceed 6 inches of snow, i think it would be right along the immediate coast pending how much snow works enter the forecast and how far north some of the heavier bands get. there will be a tremendously further north an west you go, the less chance of snow. guys? right now it looks like the best chance of picking up half a foot coast of new england where we have the winter storm watches posted essentially from the cape back through buzzards bay and right along the rhode island-connecticut coastline. maybe a few towns with seven, eight inches of heavy, wet snow. 1 to 3 to the city of boston. lighter amounts to the north and west. this is the way it looks with the amount of moisture coming on inch we also have to watch the wind speeds. 45 to 50-mile-per-hour gusts tomorrow night and early sud morning down across the cape and the islands. 30 to 40 along the immediate coastline. that pushes some of this ocean water back toward the coast, so i do expect minor coastal flooding to occur during the sunday morning high tide around 11:00 a.m. 7 on 7 forecast taking you into next week. whatever snow we get will start melting by monday. >> sarah: a passionate plea to find these two dogs swiped from their somerville home. the owners say man was caught on camera walking away with them. now they're praying that their beloved dogs are found safe. >> christa: they are really emotional about this. a member of their family is so let's go to 7's nancy chen with more on their message. >> sarah: christa, good morning to you. this family is heartbroken. along with posting flyers all along their neighborhood, this couple is hoping the surveillance video that captured this suspect will help them get their dogs back. their names are caesar and cleopatra, pomeranians that look just like little pandas. they're children. >> to know when you're away someone can break in and just steal the family, it feels so unprotected. >> reporter: while the somerville couple was away, they broke into their home. they didn't take much, but they broke the family's heart. >> they took a couple rings, but the dogs are the important thing they took. >> you can see the dogs. >> reporter: their neighbor's cameras caught what looks like man walking down summer street with at least one black-and-white pup in his arms. >> i started scanning everyone. come by holding something on his waist... >> reporter: it was tuesday just before 7:00. joy yang, another neighbor checking in on the pups came in and found the house in disarray with the dogs gone. >> i just don't know what kind of person would steal a dog. >> the family left posting pictures of three-year-old cleopatra and four-year-old caesar hoping someone comes forward. in the meantime they have a message for the thief who stole the only things they can't replace. >> you broke our hearts. you wanted to hurt us. you did. just give us the dogs. that's it. >> reporter: somerville police say if you have any information about who that man is and where those dogs are, go ahead and give them a call. in the newsroom, nancy chen, 7news "today in new england." >> christa: up next, a legal victory for bills can -- cosby. what adjudge is dismissing a lawsuit against the comedian. >> sarah: and a store owner in >> chris: time is 5:23 on this friday morning. t.g.i.f. pretty good day ahead of us. mid to upper 20s in worcester. nor 30 degrees in boston. wind out of the northwest. we're looking forward to the weekend. we're right there on the storm line in southern new england. we expect some snow the heaviest along the south coast of new england. much of it will fall saturday into saturday night. more on that forecast to come. >> sarah: thanks, chris. this morning we're excited to introduce you to a high school snior from framingham. >> christa: he's been through some really tough times and is a terrific student who has gone above and beyond to help others. he's our class act today. hi, class. how are you? still get snow and wind new york question about that, especially the further south you go. i think the question is how far does the heavier moisture work into southern new england. 19 in boston. teens outside. winds 5 to 15mph creating the wind-chill factors down into the single digits. we'll get you through today first here heading out the door. sunny skies, temperatures close to 30 degrees this afternoon. here is the storm taking shape. this is going to carve its way down through the deep south and emerge off the care lie, mid atlantic coastline as a powerful ocean storm. that's going to hammer the mid atlantic. you're talking two feet of snow, maybe even more close to d.c. and across the northwestern suburbs there. even up into new york city, looking likely close to a foot of snow. so very close by is the heavy snow, and some of these heavier bands may find their way down into southern new england along the coastline. i do expect a lot of accumulating snow cape and the islands right along the south coast, newport, rhode island, stretching back into southern connecticut. that's your best chance to pick up six inches of heavy, wet snow out of this, maybe even a couple towns slightly over that. then you taper off snow amounts considerably. still think we could get an inch or two in the city of boston. lighter amounts to the north and to the west. more on that seven-day are we going to get here? >> chris: living on the edge in southern new england, aren't we always with some of these storms. basically we're right on the northern fringe of this coming up. the most snow you'll see is the further south you go into new 19 in boston, 14 in worcester. a cool start, a little breeze, 5 to 15mph, but overall another sunny day with temperatures close to 30 degrees this afternoon. let's get to the good old snowstorm stuff. cape cod back through the islands down through buzzards bay, south chest of new england, winter storm watch is posted for you folks there beginning tomorrow morning. that will likely continue into sunday morning. you get further south, there is a blizzard warning as close by as long island. so you can imagine there is sharp gradient with the brunt of this storm. and again, we're right on that northern edge of the snow. we do expect some of the snow to work in here. the the heaviest along the south coast and most of this falling saturday into saturday night. if there is any lingering snow on sunday, it should end by about 7:00, 8:00 a.m. saturday morning, buzzards bay, down through rhode island and connecticut, expected to start to snow. that line riding northbound. there's going to be a battle with the dry air to the north trying to squash that northern fringe down. a good bet close to the mass we'll get accumulating snow. i think the best chance for half a foot of snow along the south coast, falmouth back into buzzards bay and then over toward southern rhode island. so we'll keep an eye on it, perhaps a couple inches of snow in boston, less north and west. >> christa: love that. living on the edge, chris. very clever. how about traffic this morning, danielle? >> danielle: i think everyone is happy it's chris: good friday morning. colt starld, plenty of cold air in place. temperatures lower to middle teens this morning, close to 30 this afternoon. winds about 5 to 15mph. we have the cold air in place. what about the snow over the weekend? today in america, almost as much wealth as the bottom 90% this great country and our government belong to all of us. wall street, corporate america, wealthy campaign donors have so much influence that the only way they are defeated is when millions of people begin to stand up and say loudly and clearly, "enough is enough." i'm bernie sanders, >> sarah: welcome back. 6:13. take a look at this storm moving through the mid atlantic, really wreaking havoc on them, moving flights have already been canceled, but luckily this time we're not in the eye of the storm. >> christa: i'm telling you new york washington, d.c., they were saying schools were shut down. even before the storm hit, federal workers let go early and all that. they're getting their ducks in a row. >> chris: absolutely. with a forecast between 1 to 2 feet, maybe locally higher in the d.c. area and a city that's not quite as used to it as boston, you can imagine how long it's going to take to clean up and get everyone off the roads, get everyone home safe for the weekend certainly a good idea. travel plans anywhere from new york city south down into charlotte, north carolina, definitely check ahead with your airlines, all those airlines, preemptive strike in terms of already canceling flight, rearranging them, changing the layovers through different cities. so you want to check ahead. look at how expansive the weather warnings and watches are. winter storm warning in pink here stretching from arkansas all the way into northern new jersey. you get at some of these deeper reds. that's a blizzard warning as close by as long island. into baltimore and d.c. as a meteorologist, it's almost more confident forecast pacing two feet of snow in washington, d.c., and saying this is going to be a huge hit, a huge snowstorm, very vs. where you're right on that northern fringe, it's a battle how far that moisture gets up in here. we're fighting that tight line here of how much snow can work into southern new england as we work through saturday into saturday night with the highest risk of some heavier snow, we'll call it six inches or more right along the immediate south coast of new england. so still thinking we'll get accumulating know in boston. the timing of it tomorrow morning, between 7:00 and 10:00 a.m. down through southern bristol county, plymouth county and back into southern rhode island and connecticut. it starts the snow. that shield will try to work its way northbound. by mid-day in the city of boston, even close to noontime, 1:00, 2:00 p.m., there's going to be a coastal front. with some on shore winds and on shore moisture coming in, we may break out into some patchy, light snow as early as mid-day. the north. this will try the chew away at that northern edge. so again, when you're right on the cusp of some of these big snowstorms, you can get huge gradients from north to south in terms of snowfall. the most accumulating snow we'll see tomorrow evening, overnight tomorrow, this will wrap up by about 7:00 or 8:00 on sunday morning. there you go from north to south. the highest totals, i could probably put it at a six to eight-inch amount along the immediate south coast of new england some that 95 stretch coming out of rhode island back into connecticut and right along that immediate coastline into new bedford. your best bet of seeing over six inches of snow. perhaps one to three close to the city of boston. again, we'll have this coastal front set up and system of this ocean moisture may enhance a little snowfall. some more moisture may sneak into southern new england. but as it stands right now, the brunt of that storm stays just to the south of us. we still get the snow and we still get the wind gusting 40 to 50mph along the coastline. so it's not like it's going to even with the brunt of the snowstorm down through new york city down into d.c. i do expect minor coastal flooding during high tide, especially that 11:00 a.m. sunday high tide, scituate, sandwich, maybe even pockets of moderate coastal flooding. how about next week, though. whatever snow we get starts melting as early as monday afternoon. >> christa: let's check the roads bright and early this morning. hey, danielle. >> danielle: hey, christa. happy friday, everyone. the roads looking pretty good. the expressway, a
