Tim cruz tells fox 25 two 11yearold boys were playing with the hanged gun when it went off striking one of the boys in the face. Crews declined to say if the boy mistakenly shot himself or if his friend accidentally pulled the trigger. Its early at this point i would say its fair to say we believe there was not intentionally somebody did not try to intentionally hurt somebody. Reporter cruz says hes unaware if any adults were in the home when the shooting happened. According to neighbors one of the boys involved in the shooting lives in the home the same street. Certainly a serious situation. Its a tragic situation. I just dont think there should be guns around anywhere where a kid can get them. They have to be locked up somewhere so they cant get them and reach for them. Reporter we dont know who that gun belonged to but Abington Police say it is legally owned. The wrong log was posted at 9 00 wednesday morning it wasnt taken down until around noon. When fox 25 called the chief and let him know there was a anybody if their information was put up. I also asked the chief if they were going to reach out and contact all the people impacted by the posting of that log he said its something that the Police Department is looking into.
