from the boston mayor marty walsh told a fired up crowd to hit the polls tomorrow. she also addressed the crowd at wellesley college. her husband is getting ready to host a rally in worcester. the clintons are using every minute they have to win the hearts of voters. >> meanwhile the only republican candidate to spend time in massachusetts today was ohio governor john kasich who held a rally here in plymouth. >> here's a look at where voters will hit the polls on supertuesday. there was a lot at stake. weas just showed you the candidates are taking massachusetts very seriously. we begin our coverage tonight with fox 25's ted daniel live in milton where bernie sanders just finished his final pitch to bay state voters. ted. >> mark, vanessa, as one of massachusetts often gets the cold shoulder when it comes to presidential politics. supertuesday is the exception because bernie sanders future could depend on how he does here. the line to get in formed early outside milton high school and it stretched and stretched, and stretched. >> this is a ruckus crowd. i love it. it wasn't safe it was strategy that brought sanders to milton tonight. massachusetts is one of only a few supertuesday states he has a chance of taking. >> i look around this crowd tonight i think we're going to win here in massachusetts. >> reporter: the 74-year-old vermont senator mostly stuck to his script. primarily focusing on economic inequality. mother to his campaign. >> we like the idea having universal healthcare. >> reporter: sanders has made significant gains over the last few months here but still trays clinton in the points. >> the more that we spread his message the more we can get people on his side. >> so with sanders hailing from a neighboring state and massachusetts voters known for being friendly friend to liberals the feeling is that sanders needs to do well here in terms of his prospect moving forward throughout the rest of the country. his supporters they treat him like a rock star many tonight he played that part. that new video is for 11:00. ted daniel, fox 25 news. at this hour her husband the former president making a final push in worcester. hillary clinton making two supertuesday. heavy of sanders in recent polls. clinton tried to fire up hundreds of supporters at the old south meeting who us in boston. then she addressed a younger crowd at her alma mater wellesley college. >> i am not going to ask you to pay taxes to send donald trump's youngest kid free to college. we're not going to do this. >> reporter: clinton has a support of nearly all the state's congressional delegation, although it still remains a mystery as to who senator elizabeth warren is supporting. now to the republican race where there are plenty of delegates to fight for. 12,037 delegates are needed to clench. 595 of them will be won tomorrow. the column on the left breaks down the delegates awarded in every state it seems donald trump is the favorite again. a new poll out tonight shows business mogul donald trump with a sizable lead earning primary vote. high governor john kasich was campaigning in massachusetts today. he held a town hall meeting in vermont this morning before heading to the south shore and for a town hall in reply mouth. a photographer at a donald trump rally claims a secret service agent choked him and slammed him to the ground today. the scrimmage happened at a rally in radford, virginia. he said he barely stepped out of the media box when the agent put his hands around his neck. >> you are just trying to go cover the protest. >> i stepped 18 inches out of the pen and he grabbed me by the neck and started choking me and slammed me to the ropes. >> a rep for trump's campaign say they are aware of the incident but do not have all the details yet. the secret service also says it is aware of this event is now working with its local office on the matter. trump will be in florida senator marco rubio will also be in florida. his home state. and finally, senator ted cruz will return home to texas which is the state with the most delegates at stake. secretary of state william gallivan is predicting a strong turnout tomorrow in massachusetts. gallivan is expecting as many as 700,000 voters to cast g.o.p. ballots. though he's not as certain about the turnout for democrats. 1.2 million residents cast their votes in the 2008 democratic primary. he says the tone of this year's candidates has drawn new attention. >> you might say the romney and mccain fight was kind of a tennis match this is kind of world wrestling. so i think it's created an atmosphere of interest obviously is going to be seen here in the turnout we see tomorrow. >> the secretary saying they have seen a large number of voters leave the democratic and on-line at myfoxboston.com. breaking news now at children's hospital in boston where a haz-mat scene was just cleared. investigators tell us a container caused concern melted substance was at first. the scare was contained to room on the tenth floor. it happened on the laboratory side of the side. no one was evacuated and no one was hurt. now to a live look at the radar where some snow out temperatures will track overnight tonight in boston from 44 down to 32 with some sunshine. back up to 35 by mid-morning. in worcester of course typically cold will be this time too going down to 27 first thing in the morning. quite a turnaround from what we had today. i'm tracking that storm when ice becomes a problem straight ahead. the idea to arm campus police officers with semiautomatic weapons hit a wall tonight. boston city council wanted to talk about the idea with northeastern university but school officials they never showed up. fox 25's jim morelli is live on campus now to show us what might happen next. jim? >> reporter: vanessa, northeastern got pummeled tonight by city councils and students and again it wasn't there to defend itself. why did northeastern not come to this? and somewhat complicated story. >> was there any outreach by the northeastern administration. >> reporter: the topic of tonight's boston city council hearing the plan to arm its police force with semiautomatic weapons. just one problem, northeastern university didn't show up even as several dozen of its students. did it's incredibly disrespectful to them to the neighborhoods around northeastern and to the city council not to show up. >> it shows complete disrespect and disregard for their own students, for the neighborhood that they're located in and i believe for the city of boston. >> reporter: but in a letter dated last thursday northeastern let the city council know it wasn't coming. they have called for this public hearing based on claims that northeastern decided to increase the tactical capabilities of its incident containment team. without the collaboration and approval of d.p.d. and made no efforts to consult or involve the local community. these statements are not accurate. northeastern tells fox 25 it reached out to boston police mid-october and in a meeting about a week later it actually showed boston police representatives a proposed rifle and they discussed joint training opportunities. >> constant communication, dialogue and transparency is the key. >> reporter: but at tonight's meeting boston police insisted that whatever northeastern did or didn't do it wasn't enough. you have to be on the same page. if you want on bring more weaponry into your arsenal you should be talking to the lead law enforcement agency. >> of course that agency is the boston police department. we did mention that there were several students at the city council meeting. one of them has some experience with school shootings when she was a junior in high school a gunman entered her school. we will hear from her at 11:00. live at northeastern university, jim morelli, fox 25 news. investigators released a video late this afternoon of a deadly dorchester shoot-out with police. >> video appears to support how police say the shooting happened. officers responded to reports of a home invasion with a person shot. 29-year-old peter fanfan on the top right as the first officer arrives in a cruiser on the left. when fanfan raises his hands the officer has his gun out as he comes from behind his cruiser. officers could be heard ordering the suspect to drop his gun. the shooting happened on february 12th. fanfan's family had asked that the d.a. not release the video until after his funeral this past weekend. new details out today show marathon bomber tamerlan tsarnaev passed his citizenship test just months before the attack. according to the boston globe, tsarnaev denied terrorism links and swore allegiance to the u.s. as part of the passing the sidship test. the results were part of hundreds of confidential documents released by homeland security. u.s. immigration told the globe that the cases for tsarnaev and ibragim todashev were handled correctly. errors in the processing of tamerlan applications we are always seeking to strengthen our very intensive screening process. we are also learning more about the brothers from a newly released f.b.i. transcript of dzhokhar tsarnaev's interview while he was at beth israel medical center after being captured in watertown. in newly released documents fox 25 has obtained tsarnaev said both he and tamerlan decided on their own where to place their backpacks near the finish line and before detonating his device tsarnaev cold called his brother to synchronize the detonation. he says he didn't warn friends to stay away from the marathon because he didn't care if they got hurt. well, tonight two men are behind bars accused of breaking into a home several times with a dead body inside it. that's not the only crime they're accused of. new at 10:00 fox 25's jackie heinrich joins us now. these who never told police what they found? >> no, mark, police only found out about it after a woman called police saying the men had asked her to cash checks for them. and the checks were stolen >> reporter: mark and steven landry both now facing felony charges for allegedly stripping a bellingham home of its copper pipes, electronics and valuable all the while ignoring the dead body decomposing in the bedroom. police say the men came back to the house over and over after the grisly discovery taking the deceased man's checkbook and writing themselves checks. even returning to steal his vehicle. that house overgrown and unattended with no functioning utilities. police say the body was in advance stages of decomposition believe hit been there for some time although they don't suspect foul play. according to the bellingham assessor's website that home is owned by karen parker, and police say that deceased person had no next of kin. so landry brothers now facing multiple felony charges after a woman came forward saying the pair had asked her to cash checks for them and thought something was fishy. fox 25 talked to that woman tonight. she said she never got involved with the crime but at her home for a small fee until they got back on their feet. the landry brothers have pleaded not guilty are being held on $100,000 bail. live in studio, jackie heinrich, fox 25 news. a memorial is still growing tonight for a police officer gunned down her first day on the job. 28-year-old ashley guindon was killed on saturday while responding to domestic violence call in virginia. this police cruiser has been transformed for a memorial guindon. hampshire, native and remembered today at her high school. >> so at this time i ask will you please join me in a moment of silence. >> guindon graduated with the class of 2005 which model the motto forever young. the school's principal spoke fondly about guindon's legacy today. >> most people will remember this is a young lady who chose to move forward in her life and commit to life of public service. at one point there was aeronaughtics and marines ultimately she goes to work for the police force in virginia. she would have made a great police officer here in merrimack. >> 32-year-old ronald hamilton has been charged with shooting guindon and two other officers and is being held without bail. the injured officers are expected to recover. 25 pounds of marijuana uncovered at a shipping company. police say it was addressed to a local business. new at 10:00 here's what $75,000 of pot looks like. a local shipping company intercepted the packages and called police. police then made the delivery to the business in question. that's where they found 50-year-old kathleen sook. she was arrested there for possession and intent to distribute. delivery drivers, cabbies, fearing for their lives on the job in worcester. more assaults happening over the last few weeks have many questioning their safety as they head to work. fox 25's malini basu is live with the story new at 10:00. malini, you spoke with some >> mark, scared as we just said when investigators are still working this case. they're trying to figure out who these suspects are. in the meantime, tonight drivers say you know what we are so scared some even quit their jobs. others say we are forced to work in these conditions to support our families. >> we are going to give them everything. >> reporter: a manager at roadrunner pizza tells fox 25 one of the delivery drivers was robbed at gunpoint by three men. >> the guy robbed him asked for his money, take his jacket, take the food. they took him basically for everything. it was a very cold night and they took his jacket. they took his food. >> reporter: he says the driver didn't put up a fight at all as he was scared and thought he was going to die. >> only $25 they are fighting for they could get it somewhere else. it's sad. >> it's sad to hear that people are robbing people for $25, $50. >> reporter: worcester police say there have been more than half dozen of since january. fox 25 has learned it's been happening since december. in all at least a dozen victims here. >> very scary. my doors are always locked. like they are now. >> reporter: jessica rug a mother of three young children is working 10 hours a day as a cab driver to support her family. she's aaware of the recent rash of drivers. >> if i don't like the look of them they don't get in. >> we have emergency button in here i usually only have like $20 on me at night. >> as a single parent she has to do what she has to do to work the night shift. >> to make money to support my family. >> reporter: tonight investigators are telling us these robberies are happening all across worcester not just in specific area. they're asking the public please do the right thing and call them with any information even if you think it's really nothing just call them and you can remain anonymous. worcester tonight, malini basu, fox 25 news. >> the search continues for the driver police say ran over a worcester couple and sped off. tonight police have found the vehicle involved about a mile from the scene with a different license plate. the hit-and-run happened during a busy sunday afternoon outside the worcester flea market. the couple's teenage daughter actually witnessed everything she even banged on the driver's windows to try and get her to stop. people say they don't understand why that driver didn't stop. >> people are in the hospital because of this person and they're not doing the right thing. >> police say the husband is now out of the hospital. his wife remains in serious condition. fox 25 investigates is examining a serious crash in which a guard rail pierced through a car pinning the driver. >> when we first showed you the scene friday when the story was breaking. tonight we have confirmed the type of guard rail confirmed in the crash is the kind under fire linked to lawsuits as far as deaths and serious injuries are concerned. >> it's also been the focus >> as kerry kavanaugh reveals the reason state police say it happened. >> reporter: it pierced through this honda on friday. >> that guard rail been a little bit lower and a little bit further back it would have pierced his body could have been a fatal crash. >> reporter: the driver was pinned inside the vehicle for 35 minutes. today fox 25 investigates confirmed the guard rail that crashed through the car had same time of m-cap design named in the lawsuits connected to deaths and dismemberment the et+. the maker of the et+ trinity industries of texas has been the focus of an investigation. in 2014 a federal grand jury found trinity industries defrauded the government by changing the design. this is how the et plus is supposed to work driving the end terminals forward the guard rail is supposed to ribbon out and away when it fams there can be dangerous despite this result on friday state police say the guard rail performed as it should have. in a statement they said "based on our preliminary reconstruction the contributing factor to the serious injury that is being looked at is excessive speed not the guard rail." it went on that speed was excessive enough that all of the vehicle's energy could not be absorbed by the collapsing end caps causing the car to rotate into the ribbing guard rail. we reached out to trinity industries, the maker of the et plus end cap to see if they agreed with the state police assessment. they e-mailed us back saying the ep plus is the most tested guard rail in america when installed and maintained properly. it performed as is designed. we have also been in touch with the family he's recovering he's in the hospital heading into surgery tuesday morning. in boston, kerry kavanaugh, fox 25 news. more details they only terminals when damaged. fox 25 investigates found in 2015 there were nearly 7,000 of these guard rail ends on roads across the state. the t is ending its experiment with late night hours on the weekends. today the t's control board voted 4-0 to eliminate the service by march 18th. the t had been operating from 12:30 to 2:00 in the morning. t officials say the service cost the already struggling system about $14 million during andrews than most are used to seeing reporting on the sidelines that bubbly confident woman replaced by one who cried repeatedly as she said what happened inside that hotel room still haunts her today. >> i felt so ashamed. i was so embarrassed. >> reporter: for sportscaster erin andrews the nightmare began in 2008 in a nashville hotel and >> the second i'm reminded of this the second i know people are talking about it, the second it's around me it's in my space i just lose it. >> reporter: andrews was working for espn when michael barrett secretly recorded her through a peephole while andrews was news in her marriott hotel room. andrews told jurors since the video was leaked on the internet she has panic attacks daily is still tormented by fans on the field and on-line. >> i get so angry this could have been stopped. >> reporter: andrews and her lawyers claim hotel employees failed to notify her when barrett asked to stay in a room right next to hers identifying her by name. >> why the marriott put him next to me why did they ask me or call me and tell me he is there next to me. >> reporter: andrews described trying to resume her career as a sideline reporter in the months after the incident and failing. now she wants $75 million in she says from the invasion of privacy that has changed her life. >> i was in being shower and balling and thinking i don't know how i'm going to do this. >> andrew's mother also testified about how the video has changed her daughter. michael barrett was arrested and convicted and served two years in prison. kathryn burcham, fox 25 news. yep, that's me you know we had one front come through this afternoon with some showers then there are these snow showers moving towards us after temperatures today that hit record level let's talk about this first of all. you will see some showers of snow anyhere here in southern vermont a couple in western massachusetts these are coming over the hilly terrain sinking down off the mountains sinking air dries out it's what it does. we are going to have no snow showers in worster and boston and much of southern in southwest new hampshire that would be it. this is what we had today. 64 tying a record that goes back to 1880. it's not a long or standing record as it initially seems still pretty impressive in worcester 57 the record was set in 1976. at 56 . warm, warm end of february no doubt about it. now the average high temperature in for the state is 41 . we were way above that clearly so leading in to march you're hoping this temperature will continue and they will. fox 25 card game that's being played in boston. the suspects are accused of targeting prominent asian restaurant workers. the pair and two others were allegedly caught in the act by police on friday as they broke into that bedford home. >> after a number of house breaks belonging to asian restaurant owners at least three of the averages matcheddert. >> they're investigating whether the suspects are part of a high stakes card game. one suspect is still out there tonight. >> new vandals forced the early low of an ice rink. the family closed because officials at the historic strawberry bank
