position but adjustments to the track. current winds estimated at 65 miles per hour. they are displaced from the center of the storm, but what you are going to find is this forecast, basically how they are wobbling for the neck two days very close by and by 8 p.m. on wednesday, 40-mile-per-hour winds and it and even though it is getting closer and closer, it is going to kind of take off come thursday and will fall apart. no longer going to be labeled a tropical system. while you wake up this morning occasional showers we are dealing with. light to moderate and temperatures you are waking up to in the 60s. we have stronger winds, sustained winds at 21 miles per hour in mashpee and 18 miles per hour in nantucket. stronger gusts that i am going to break down for you as well. you can small town north of plasteau. the state's ag and state police major crime units spent the night investigating at 23 caramel drive. crews arrived just before midnight and the attorney general's office new this morning, state 93. the trooper was parked in the southbound side of the highway in boston last night when the driver plowed into the back of the suv. it happened just after 1:00 this morning. the woman in the car was arrested after failing a sobriety test. boston police are investigating a sexual assault on the rose kennedy greenway. the victim was walking toward the greenway carousel when the stranger attacked her on state street and atlantic avenue around 4:00 yesterday morning. the 50s with a thin build and dark colored bruins jersey and baseball hat. today a framingham state police officer is in court accused of a lewd act in front of a student. fox25's crystal haynes discovered that is not the only position of authority that man holds. >> i think everyone can -- >>reporter: framingham police officer 28-year-old wilshir domidor was arrested for open sex act and witness imtimdation. >> probably a little bit scary. i am freshman and i have been here for week. >> reporter: a student employee witnessed the whole thing. he was immediately put on leave and has been banned from campus pending a full investigation. >> i can't imagine how they would be feeling. because it is a very safe place and a very safe school. i am not sure how they would react to something like that. >> reporter: i dug deeper into his background. he has been in the revere resident has been an auxiliary police officer for the city since 2015. the department tells me he has been put on leave in revere, and they are cooperating with framingham police. >> as a police officer off role, and just in court for arraignment. also happening today, a dorchester man is set to appear before a judge accused in a deadly hit and run accident. anthony buchanan's arrest was breaking sunday on fox25. he is accused of hitting 46-year-old john swims a rental car late saturday night and then leaving a scene. buchanan later turned himself into police and he was drunk at the time of the crash. he is facing multiple charges including motor vehicle homicide while operating under high winds from hermine made things complicated for crews battling a massive house fire in rhode island. take look at some video in shows just what fire fighters in narragansett were up against yesterday. tax records show the multimillion dollar oceanfront home is owned by james skeffington the late co-owner of the pawsox. the home is worth $3 million. the cause of the fire is under investigation. hermine's wind played a heavy rains destroyed this house on taunton street. it took thundershowers knock it down. one fire fighter had to be treated for smoke inhalation. the flames were as tall as the trees at one point. no word on the cause. a 7-year-old boy is killed in a fire -- in middletown rhode island. a police officer spotted the flames early yesterday morning. police say the boy was home alone with his teenaged sisters at the time. the "globe" reports the girls and five police officers were at the hospital for smoke inhalation. the fire marshal believes the fire was in a second-story bathroom but the cause is unknown. a local judge will hear arguments of the use of body cameras by police officers in boston. the union representing boston police officers wants to stop a pilot program due to start next week. 100 officers have been selected to wear the cameras. the union claims that is a violation of an agreement it has with the city. mayor marty walsh tells fox25 he hopes the cameras will be forward and the ifers are been trained and we are ready to hit the streets with them. see what a judge says. but we are ready to go. >> daniel: if approved the pilot program will be for six months. mass dot will begin a system on the electronic willing to system. drivers will have to use a e-zpass. vehicles without an e-zpass will receive a bill in the mail. the first meeting on the change will happen tonight at union station in worcester. six other hearings will take with just two months now per hour on the vineyard 2307 in bedford and 22 in worcester. what we will see are wind gusts peeking during the morning hours and still potential for gusts around 39 miles per hour which is really start it decline once it hits the late morning and afternoon. i do expect the morning commute will be on the windier side with temperatures in the 60s and occasional showers and spotty showers at 5 feel impact of hermine and it is causing rough surf up and down the east coast. a coast guard rescue. three fishermen needed to be pulled from their sinking boat. the bad seas had a coast guard to use a helicopter for their rescue. that is exactly the type of situation that the coast guard in our area is hoping to avoid, but should the call come in, they are ready. one of the guard's biggest ship spent the night anchored the crew about the dangerous conditions they are facing. >> reporter: headed into the storm, the coast guard crew of this ship that fox25 took show the conditions of the storm. right in the heart of it as it sits off the new england coast. with the wind making it hard to hear much more, the crew reported gusts reaching 55 miles per hour. the waves slowing 5 to 6 feet and that is just in land. the crew is anchored there telling me on the phone they are finding boaters and pointing them back to the coast. >> in the last four to five hours. we poke to a lot of fishermen out there in the water and explained to them the weather coming in, and they were all telling us the plans to head to the docks. >>reporter: in boston with the storm extending its effects here, other members of the coast guard tightening down boats. >> our concern is the inner of the storm. crews here sit and wait hoping it stays that way while their fellow crews face down the storm. >> worry about their recreational boaters, seasoned sailors and people who don't know anything. thinking that they can handle it and getting them in situation they can contain very quickly. >> reporter: along the boston harbor, blair miller, fox25 news. >> the condition is not right for boats but perfect for jet skiers and surfers surfers will be back in horse neck beach. the churning water doesn't scare them. >> like 20-footers. kind of dangerous but we all watch out for one another. one falls out you go over and help them out. >> julie: they are getting lots of air there. the wind does make surfing a bit more difficult because of the strong gusts they are kicking up a lot of sand at the beach. we track traffic and weather every ten minutes. head outside and take a look at some of the wet roads that eastbound and westbound for that matter. throughout brighton area and things are soaked right now. not too many people are on the road. people getting back in the swing of things right. tell you what, julie, it is going to be a wet drive into work for many of you this morning, but the showers will remain patchy. wind -- the wind and rain we have been tracking since yesterday locally. strongest gusts will be early -- early in the day and especially focused across the cape, the islands and the south. that is where we have the potential of getting tropical storm-force gusts. that means 39-mile-per-hour or stronger gusts. not really seeing them now. i think they are going to be a little hard to come by, but either way, it will still be incredibly breezy down this. not looking at many downpours but will be broken up. rain, rip currents and beach erosion. not just a concern today, but because hermine is moving so little in the next two days, it is going to be an ongoing affair. this is something that we will have to watch wednesday, and although we will see late week improvements, we will have decent waves out there. a look at current wind speeds. right now i have 21 miles per hour sustained in boston. sustained at 20 miles per hour yes, it was windier yesterday. it was windier overnight and still maintaining some of the stronger gusts. i just broke down the winds about 5 minutes ago. out toward the vineyard 31-mile-per-hour gusts. that is one of the spots we will be watching for the tropical storm-strength gusts. in the last 24 hours, we have seen winds gusting for nantucket -- nantucket shoals up around 64 miles per hour. nawas the strongest report that i have but over the cape, 50-mile-per-hour range. the good news is, a lot of those strong, strong gusts are going to be object sent from the map today and still see some gusts around 30 miles per hour. with it bands of rain coming in all pivoting around hermine which is a post tropical storm which means it lost some of its tropical characteristics and still a big wind maker out there. you can see all of the oranges denoting the thunderstorm warnings posted. current winds attached to hermine, 64 expected over the next couple of days. you will see a wobble a little bit here just to the south. through 8:00 we still have spot showers. we still have winds coming in mostly from the east, pushing the water into the coastline. and noontime, scattered showers. futurecast is placing certain bands in certain locations throughout the day, but you really need to be ready for occasional shower. you will want to grab that umbrella. roads. hermine doing its thing to the south but barely moving. during the day, 7 a.m., a very similar set-up to what we have today and we will have scattered showers, we will have winds coming on shore as well and then she starts to move off to the north and east, and by 8 p.m., she is going to lose a lot of her characteristics, meaning we might stop tracking her as hermine. it might just end up being the remnants that we watch kind of move away from us for week. temperatures today are going to be in the low to mid-70s. overnight 60s tomorrow with breezy conditions, occasional showers. it will be a little warmer. we are going upper 70s to about 8 degrees. the seven-day forecast with the weekend always in view. showers hanging on thursday morning. turn hot and humid. 86 on thursday. near 90 on friday with a chance of early morning showers along this front and more breaks of sunshine as we ease our way into saturday at through and that shot. >> reporter: 11-year-old haley burk got her tetanus shot for the upcoming cool year. her mother said all three of her kids are vaccinated. >> i don't want my kids getting sick. >> reporter: a pediatrician at the health alliance at somerville found an uptick of parents bringing their kids in for immunization shots in the next few weeks. >> makes it tricky with the >> reporter: the state of massachusetts requires students to be updated with their vaccinations unless there is a religious or medical exception. she met with a few parents reluctant to give their kids shots. >> each parents have a concern about it and i ask them to really bring them up. >> reporter: she is not alone. 87% of pediatricians surveyed back in 2013 encounter parents who refuse to vaccinate their children. >> i think one of the problems is that people won't see the diseases anymore, don't realize the importance of preventing them. >> reporter: dr. larry madoff from the department of public health say some of these diseases reappear. >> even a few kids not immunized not only put themselves at irs buck their classmates at risk. >> reporter: getting more people vaccinated will protect those very few or those fox25boston.com. a connecticut day care caught growing more than young minds. west haven police discovered $1 million worth of marijuana plants growing in the back yard. in all there was 6 some up to 10 feet tall. the plants were found by state inspectors during a routine check. neighbors athey spotted a lot of activity in the yard recently. >> i saw them building, like, something in the back in of the yard for months, kind of like a fort back there. but i just thought it was a regular fence. >> daniel: police say the fence kept the marijuana plants hidden. the suspect faces self-felony
