Reporter the current storm path will continue to push it to the north and northeast and that is the movement it has right nows a it is well in the gulf of mexico and it is forecast to make landfall later on tonight as a category 1 hurricane. The wind speeds are Tropical Storm force at 60 Miles Per Hour. And the outer bands already pushing into the panhandle and the winds will hour. There is a hurricane warning for parts of the coast. Tropical storm warnings too. I will talk about the rain falling across our region coming up in a few minutes. A check of your traffic with julie. Julie traffic or lack thereof the morning. Things moving along route 1 and 93 south. South of the pike, the expressway starting to see slightly more volume, but nothing major yet, and nothing slowing you down on the pike to the tobin. Police say the boy was playing with another young neighbor when this gun went off. There will be counselors on hand at the middle school to talk to students about what happened as that 11yearold boy remains in the hospital. I never seen nothing like that in my life. Reporter a scene that left neighbors on lynwood street shaken. Investigators seemed out of space as stud spikes were in at this point it is a handgun, but we are going to investigate everything. Reporter police got the call. Two 11yearold boys were inside playing with a gun when it went off. One 11yearold suffered a gunshot wound to the face. Put him in the back of the ambulance. And he was crying real hard and he had he was covered a lot. Repor of the boys lives in the house. The other just a few doors down. Investigators didnt believe the shooting was intentional but rather a tragic accident leaving this neighborhood stunned. I dont think there should be guns around anywhere that our kid could get them. And a little bit humid out there. You will probably notice that on your fingertips as you head outside. A few showers south of the pike. You may it it but plenty of time y for tomorrow and into the middle part of the weekend, but our weekend is 50 50 right now. We are monitoring Tropical Storm hermine as we are heading up the coast and may impact southern new england with rain, as well as some wind. Something that we will have to watch. A couple of testimonies out there. Actually i have to point out hurricane gaston now a category 1 hurricane. Just the remnants of Tropical Storm number 8. And it is down across the gulf of mexico. Thats where we have Tropical Storm hermine. At 12 Miles Per Hour with wind speeds of 60 Miles Per Hour. And it is expected to gain hurricane strength before it makes landfall. We to have warnings up across the coast right now. A hurricane warning, as well as a Tropical Storm warning for basically panama city north of tampa. Also new this hour, we have a thunderstorm warning for the northeast coast of florida as well as georgia. And the carolinas. As this storm is expected to a category 1 storm and cross over to georgia and South Carolina over the next couple of days bringing periods of heavy rain, as well as strong winds. Some parts of this area could see anywhere from 5 to 10 inches of rain. Now the question is as it moves off the midatlantic coast where does it go. We have High Pressure to the north that will try suppress it. Some computer models are saying this will get close enough. A wide range of solutions. Need to continue to monitor this, because it is likely going to wiggle as we head over the next several days. But taking a look at that particular track, that would basically turn this testimony into a noreaster for us as we head into sunday into monday. And that means we could see some strong, gusty, onshore winds and also periods of heavy rain especially down across the southeastern areas, but most likely, we are going to see definitely high surf and seas and dangerous rip currents as this system l there is a lotle room with this and the impacts will be dependent on that. We will stay tuned to that forecast. As for today, a few showers out there south of this. It is going to be pushing southward and best chances of rain. Pockets of steadier rain down across our southern areas through the morning but a road shower could be possible north of the pike. By lunchhour, you are seeing most of that activity down across the southeast. Southeast and temperatures with the clouds, they will be a bit cooler as it was yesterday, but this front will push to the south. High pressure builds on in and drier weather moves on in, at least for friday into saturday and a depending on that track, you will see how the clouds move back in and the risk for showers arrive. 74 right now in boston. She said an older man driving a big green van drove right up to her going so close pushed her down into a ditch. He then offered her water. Police have not connected this encounter to the murder of Vanessa Marcott in princeton apart and that a jogger was targeted, this has a lot of people shaken up.
