showers so far, we do not have a tornado outbreak in the future, but we expect to see heavy downpours, gusty winds. this is the tornado that developed fast across escambia county, the far northwestern part of the panhandle hitting a very rural area. 12 homes damaged, an elderly lady was rescued from debris. they are still doing surveys. we all know the strength of this by tomorrow. could be an ef-3 tornado, a pretty big storm for central or north florida. let me show you the latest right now. the main storm for us will come through tomorrow night, downpours developing ahead of that mainline, i think between 1:00 and 4:00 in our western zones, twin 2:00 and six 2:00 for the i-4 court or. still a slight chance of severe weather that we will be updating the threat from the storm and future news this morning starting at 5:00. breaking tonight, orange county deputies are still not saying whether neighbors are teenage daughter were found >> we have been following developments since deputies responded to the scene before 4:00. channel 9's ty russell is at the home off of santa barbara road. lives in the house and found the two bodies. >> reporter: we were the only ones the tracked down the man but he was too devastated to talk. we found out from this tweet, and we arrived to find yellow tape surrounding this house. deputies took it down on santa barbara road minutes ago and tonight, deputies say they are interviewing family and friends to try to find whoever is responsible. >> he told me that his girlfriend, you know, was on the floor, he thought she was dead. >> reporter: eyewitness news did not want their face is shown. they told us they called 911 when their neighbor ran over to their home this afternoon. >> he was trying. i was trying to keep them calm and to stop them from going back into the house. >> reporter: sky witness 9 was in the air looking at more than a dozen investigators working the scene. eyewitness news was on the scene when it was reported that deputies did not know who was responsible for killing a 36- year-old mom and her 16-year- old daughter. when the sun set, investigators continued collecting evidence. we went door to door to many neighbors who refused to talk on camera and told deputies told them they were safe. deputies don't know who killed the pair, but neighbors told us off- camera they know a man lived here for two years but never knew others were living here. property records show the owner is a woman but neighbors say she lives out of state. and most deputies just cleared but there are still two patrol cars to the right of the home. they still won't say how the 2., and they also won't release their names. we will continue asking deputies about suspects overnight and will bring you that information if we learn anything new on eyewitness news this morning starting at 5:00. live in orange county, ty russell, channel 9 eyewitness news. right now, crews are searching by boat along the brevard county shoreline for a professional bushmen who disappeared yesterday. 38-year-old lloyd chamberlain left portcanaveral yesterday morning and was supposed to be back right dusk. sky witness 9 was over indian harbour beach where his boat turned up. the coast guard says it is still hopeful that chamberlain will be found alive. crews will be back in the sky searching at dawn. breaking now, a silver airlines flight was grounded after the engine caught fire while at the gate. go to tallahassee with 11 noticed flames around 8:00 the fire was put out, no one was injured. the incident did not interrupt airport operations. tonight, fhp says tips are left a jogger dead. it happened on satellite west cocoa. troopers say 39-year-old jason rodiguier was taking a jog when he was struck. they believe it was a white chrysler but there are no witnesses. >> hit and run crashes across florida have gotten so bad that data shows the number of people dying from a hit and run is equal to one fatality every day. families affected by hit and run crashes met with troopers today to come up with solutions. officials say no matter what the reason may be, leaving the scene of a crash is never a good idea. tonight, orange county investigators are waiting on a mental evaluation of a man and woman they are questioning about the murder of an elderly man. over the weekend, we told you that 81-year-old julian greshan was found dead inside of his own. tonight, investigators are questioning david buchanan and his girlfriend, tennessee police say buchanan murdered his mother in 2007 but was found not guilty by reason of insanity. we're waiting to hear from a daytona beach police chief after a sergeant was taken off the force on a suspension for the fourth time. we told the wind just sellix was suspended for making a sexual remark to a female fellow officer. he was suspended again for sexually harassing another female officer. he is on paid administrative leave an investigation under again but officials won't say why. 9 investigates dug into orange county records and found over the past year, the county lost $300,000 of the coumadin putting things like ice machines, and oven, and portable generator. >> channel 9's jeff levkulich uncovered a recent audit that sound they lost 163 pieces of the commute. county leaders told you the jail is one area of concern for them. >> reporter: they are actively looking for the equipment. as for the jail, they have the most pieces of equipment that are unaccounted for, and the majority of that is computer gear. the list of assets not located. there are rolling ladders from the wastewater department, defibrillators like this, and $11,000 battery charges, even and oven at the fire and rescue stations that are unaccounted for. >> most of these items are somewhere in the county, we just need to make sure that they appropriately are located. >> reporter: the county manager believes that is the case where the orange county jail is concerned. auditors noted in their reports that besides the two ice makers that vanished, computer equipment after computer equipment continues to disappear. in fact, 65 out of 93 pieces of county computer equipment that has disappeared is from the jail. a trend they have seen over the last three years. >> we are in the process of putting together a very tight inventory control so that anytime a piece of equipment is moved in corrections, either from one department or another, or from one section to another section, we appropriately document it. >> reporter: 99.99% of the equipment in the county has 10 years ago, that number was 91%. >> do you believe you're getting better at monitoring the equipment and locating them? >> in the last 10 years we have gotten better and better at this. eyewitness news. tonight, we are hearing more 911 calls from the night a bit tim cookman university student was shot and killed. >> we have a lot of people everywhere. i can't believe this happened in my face. >> almost 20 911 calls were made early saturday morning when daytona beach -- daytona beach police say someone shot three people outside the golf club. 23-year-old dante bruce johnson died from his injuries. the other two are expected to survive, the suspect faces charges of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder. tonight, 9 investigates discovered in orange county school board member doubling as a campaign manager in and apopka city races facing an ethics complaint. we spoke with a father who prompted the complaint, he said that he felt his son's education was being threatened because he would not support the school board members candidates. >> reporter: he worries that his son could be moved out of a special program, because he told christine more he would not support families, that is the man she is campaigning for to keep her seat here at apopka city hall. that is something that moore denies. longtime resident leroy bell has gone door-to-door to help politicians reach voters in south apopka. but he claims when he refused to support commissioner sam ruth's reappointment at a for him, a conversation that christine more turned away from >> she said, i know that you care about your son, and i believe you're going to do the right thing. >> reporter: his son is enrolled in a special program for children with disabilities at prairie lake elementary, the right thing about my son staying at the elementary school. i was going to support sam ruth. >> reporter: that is the basis behind a florida commission on ethics complaint, filed on bell's be held statement that bell mistook the conversation. but, 9 investigates other questions about dual roles. she was given time off without pay after a school board member ad in a school play program featuring one of ruth's opponents. >> to me, it does not seem like she could separate it. >> reporter: the school district told us tonight that there are no immediate plans to rezone any students from prairie lake elementary school to any other schools. it could take months for the ethics commission to respond, we will keep you updated. reporting and apopka, karla ray, orange county. a woman who runs a day care out of her home is fighting to keep it open after she self- reported an incident between two kids. sherry scaly says she has worked with kids without any problems, but now the state is trying to revoke her registration. dcf filed a complaint after a 4- year-old boy was accused of inappropriately touching a 5- year-old girl well scaly was in the other room. this high school basketball coach the classroom were too tough. >> this is an interesting twist. channel 9's myrt price spoke with a man who says he's not sorry for pushing players on and off the court. >> reporter: zach and spock was shocked when he learned he was no longer the boys basketball coach, despite picking a more wins in his first year than the coach your place, and beating rivals used his high school for the first time in more than a decade with his newborn is in the -- in his arms this afternoon, he explained the move had nothing to do with basketball. >> i was told that my expectations as far as academic policies, standards of, you know, behavior off the court were too high. >> reporter: the school requires athletes to get at least an overall 2.0 gpa in order to play. however, his standards were students with a "c" or "d" in a single class would wind up sitting on the bench unable to play until they pulled grades up, even if that meant they did not have enough players to compete. >> we cannot have a jv program halfway through the season because not enough players could keep up with that. >> reporter: district leaders say the approach went too far and release a statement saying instead of encouraging and motivating students it had the opposite effect on many of them. and several students refused to play under his leadership. although school administrators urged him to relax his standards, he refused. >> i stuck to my guns. this is why i did it. i care about every one of them. i care more about their future than winning the basketball came. >> reporter: in lake county, myrt price, eyewitness news. >> he plans to stay on the school as a social studies teacher for the rest of the year. he said he will coach again somewhere and plans to keep tough standards on and off the court. right now, police are working to find out what caused a fiery crash killing one person and severely injuring left of that rv. the crash happened around 1:00 this morning off of u.s. highway 1 in ormond bridge. is that rv hit a tree and exploded. by the time they got there, the rv was on fire. witnesses who heard the explosion say when they saw flames they tried to help pull out the two people inside. they were able to save one but not the other because the flames were just too intense. in orange county insurance agent hired to help people is accused of stealing from clients instead. the agent works for amerilife in winter park. he took $3000 in cash from a 66- year-old client and did not buy insurance with it. police believe he also stole her id to buy insurance she did not want. detectives are looking into whether he target other helpless victims. a public hearing is scheduled for tomorrow to discuss whether a new japanese restaurant in orange county should get permission to sell alcohol even though the place is a strong -- across the street from a school. danketsu was denied a liquor proximity to legacy middle schools. hooters was previously there and sold liquor, but that is because hooters was there before the school was built. attorneys for the restaurant say alcohol would not affect the school in a bad way. tonight is one of those nights you need to make sure working. always have two sources, a weather radio in case the tower goes out, and our severe weather center 9 app which will alert. it will talk to you if there is a watch or warning for your area. this is up in the panhandle, century, florida, just south of the state line, you can see the damage it did to at least a dozen homes. they will get some better light to survey tomorrow but as you can see, it toppled trees. we'll get an update on the wind strength with this. would not be surprised to see an ef-3 tornado out of this area. we had a very strong ef-3 tornado, the groundhog's tornado that hit lake county i don't think it is quite that bit but certainly a big storm earlier today. the storm is weakening, that is a good thing. it is not going to completely fizzle out, though. we will get rough weather overnight with heavy rainfall. we are getting rain developing ahead of a mine. i think this will do what it has done a couple times so far this season. it will weaken. the amount of energy we have in the atmosphere and lesson it, as the mainline moves in later tonight. you can see showers approaching the gold coast. this will keep sweeping through. this is mainly rain. after 2:00 in the morning, scattered showers already moving to orlando, and the mainline approaching between 3:00 and around 5:00 a.m. we could still see a slight risk of severe weather, wind gusts over 40 to 50 miles per hour. could see small hail and also a slight risk of a tornado. we already had as a show do that tornado in the panhandle. we're watching rotation mainly to the north. highest risk of tornadoes will next couple of hours. as you can see after 7:00 the morning we take all of this wet stuff and push it out of the way to give us a very nice day tomorrow. over an inch of rain possible in a few spots, that plus gusty wind, up to dime sized hail, major severe weather for tomorrow. in addition to that isolated possibility of a tornado. we will be here to watch things all during the night tonight. temps in the middle 60s, very consistent across the area tonight. once we get past a clock tick in the morning in mount dora, all thumbs up. temperatures in the middle 70s. in fact, we are going up to 81 degrees tomorrow thomas 78 longwood, 80 in winter springs, how about 80 to 81 degrees after storms exit very early, and we're going to get a break. we are going to quiet down. it's [ applause ] the what?! tonight we know why a daytona beach firefighter used an ambulance for personal use. we broke this last month after a video of the incident surfaced. an internal investigation found gregory bowden violated the policy by using the ambulance to drop off his kids to his ex- wife. the investigation also shows he only did it because his kids mother did not show up on time and he did not want to be in trouble for missing work. he received a written warning and was docked 20 minutes of leave time. as presidential candidates prepare for saturday's primary in south carolina, former president bill clinton tried to rally hundreds in south florida in support of his wife, hillary. but not everyone was on his side. >> wait, wait, wait. i want you to hear this. >> the former president is still wildly popular among democrats. today he reached out to black voters. meanwhile, hillary clinton spent the day campaigning in nevada where she is locked in a with bernie sanders. to come in are on the loose after they were of the group of people waiting for a bus. one of the robbers was shot. the robbery happened run 6:00 is morning. three men were on their way to work walking to the busstop on orange blossom trail near caley avenue. when armed robbers approached them demanding money. the man shot was hit in the leg and is expected to be okay. investigators are talking with area businesses to get surveillance video. in lake county, please are going the extra mile to put a stop to cram in a troubled part of leesburg. they created a task force is officers to focus on carver heights. there are also bring in other officers to keep a close watch on the community. changes are being made the following a string of shootings in carver heights last year. we will be in volusia heights thursday when leaders go over an agreement on a homeless shelter. the city submitted a 20 page agreement that makes daytona pay for the operation of the shelter as long as the county provides property and pays the $4 million to build it. the agreement does not require shelter. after a couple of weeks and rumors and reports, orlando city is about to officially at another international start to the roster and should be here in time for the season opener. italian midfielder, nocerino, has played most of his professional career in italy's top-tier, but i'm told orlando
