This storm is stronger, lower pressure observed tonight from the Hurricane Hunter aircraft, 145 mileperhour winds moving north with hurricane winds for haiti. Theres that forecast track across the bahamas. This forecast shifts dramatically farther to the west in response to what the computer models say today. More of florida is in that cone storm, generally the dry side. The higher winds, the greater amounts of moisture on the eastern side. Its a better scenario for florida if it would play out this way and certainly for the bay, possibly polk and Highlands County have to watch this especially, especially if it tracks farther west. You can see that trend in computer models, this little an ridge of High Pressure is essentially north and west of the system. Thats that area of High Pressure, this upper level ridge moving back to the west. This ridge will continue to shift the track west and a trough of low pressure by midweek and late week should pick up this storm and move it northeast. How far north does it get before it turns northeast . Timing is always the question. The atmospheric conditions are always changing. Very well formed storm, see the outflow here and tops as indicated on our highlighted infrared satellite imagery. Back to our local forecast the rpm says fairly quiet, maybe a few light showers till after midnight, quite a few clouds around. Showers will probably fire up mostly in afternoon, develop late day, carry into the evening hours kind of like we saw. As the forecast goes to the end of the week, well keep a close eye on the path of Hurricane Matthew keeping in mind were on the weaker side of the tuesday rain chance at 40 , down to 30 wednesday and thursday depending obviously on the track of Hurricane Matthew, its influence. Then we start to see drier air not only coming around the western side of matthew, but an actual cold front at the end of the week that long term actually helps lower the humidity and slightly cooler temperatures.
