now we're focusing on high wind warning for your air until noon. a couple hours with gusty winds. not as gusty this morning. 25 to 35 miles per hour, sustained winds around 29 miles an hour in philadelphia. gusting higher in philadelphia, 48-mile-an-hour wind gust in atlantic city and 49 in reading. you're going to feel that and hear that as you step out today. along with that cold feels like february, looking at temperatures right around freezing. 33 in allentown, below freezing lancaster, 31. mount pocono, 32, 38 atlantic city, dover. feels colder 40 on april 3rd. reading, lancaster, 23 in philadelphia. as we go throughout the rest of today, we are looking temperatures not going very far. windy by noon. mostly sunny skies 41. 4 by 3:00. by 6:00 temperatures topping out around 45 degrees. a few more blustery days in our seven day coming up. in less than 24 hours we've seen heavy rain, winds, lightning, hail, in some neighborhoods snow. a brief burst of snow hit philadelphia's mayfair neighborhood just before sunrise today. it came down on princeton avenue where last night's storm toppled a tree right onto a car parked in the street. you can hear the hail and also hear the thunder in the video sent to us by a viewer overnight. plenty of people woke up to it, wicked weather passed through our area. mother nature hit parts of montgomery county in conshohocken, you can see a tree fell into a car onmorehead avenue. merion township, athens, cricket avenue, ardmore, this is the time of the year when trees are blooming. when this tree fell, all those blossoms went with it. we have power outages to perform. latest numbers, peco tells us 45,000 customers in pennsylvania have no power right now with half in bucks county. ppl says more than 5,000 customers in the dark. sg&e say 6,000 have now power, ac electric dealing with 5,000 outages and delmarva monitoring about 600 outages in newcastle county. to follow windy and cold conditions track train accident in chester, delaware county. we're told the train hit construction equipment on the tracks. two people are dead and another person is injured. this all happened where the train crosses the street. the northeast corridor is shut down as well as septa's wilmington newark line. we will bring you more information as soon as it comes into the newsroom and check in once they arrive. more breaking news we're following this morning nbc 10 on the scene of a church fire in millville, cumberland county. fire and police got the call before 5:30 this morning. we just checked crews at the mount pleasant church on cole street, are still battling flames and hot spots and dealing with smoke. no reports of any injuries. you can imagine the wind is making their efforts a little bit tough this morning. the pastor of the church tells us the congregation is invited to worship at the trinity united methodist church on second street in millville. all right. now to villanova. their march to victory is historic. you are looking at wildcat fans right the team crushed oklahoma by a record 4 points in the final four last night. the wildcats and their fans have a date with destiny tomorrow night when 'nova faces north carolina. nbc 10's matt delucia live in houston at the team's hotel. matt, for the fans who decided to invest in this trip, said, you know what, i'm getting that plane ticket. i don't care how much it costs. i'm going down there. that investment paid off. >> it was a gamble and it paid off very well and looking ahead to monday night. over here deadly train accident in chester, delaware county. am track just confirmed that the train was headed from new york to savannah, georgia, when it hit a backhoe. this construction site was right near the track and that led to the engine becoming derailed. two people are dead. am track says some passengers are being treated for injuries. again, we're looking live at where the train crosses booth street in chester. right now am track northeast corridor is shut down as well as septa's newark line. as soon as we get more information we'll bring it to you and continue to update this story throughout the rest of the morning. new from overnight nbc 10 is there the instant a car bursts into flames in philadelphia. nbc journalist was filming a car fire on the boulevard on roosevelt boulevard in east falls when flames engulfed the vehicle. no word on injuries or what led up to the fire. time to check in on this week's wednesday's child. he's 12-year-old zamir. the 6-year-old is a little higher than that. early this morning we had winds gusting over 60 miles per hour. some spots up to 66. high wind warning still in place until lunchtime, also windy this afternoon. just not quite as gust y as we are right now. feeling like february temperatures in the 30s right now. windchills less than that. we're seeing snow in spots. wind ushering in snow parts of the county. two inches of snow, monroe county got an inch, inch and a half. looks like winter in some spots. 36 philadelphia, 7 degrees colder compared to this time yesterday. you'll definitely feel that. high wind warnings next couple of hours, wind in place, start to decrease after sunset. winds gusting 46 miles per hour mount pocono up to 46 in philadelphia. 49 mile-per-hour wind gusts in reading. 48 mile-per-hour wind gust in atlantic city. sustained anywhere from 25 to 35 miles per hour. so if you're out and about this morning, definitely going to feel winds. outside looks good. mixture of sun and clouds, some spots sunnier than others. looking at sunshine. showers with wind, northwest flow ushering in some of those snow showers. currently we're cold and we're doing to be cold all day long. drivers had to slow down because of slippery roads. spring storm expected to taper off this afternoon and evening. in this area a pilot walked away with barely a scratch when his plane crashed in gloucester county. it went down around 4:00 in south harrison township. take a look. these pictures so the plane flipped upside down. the pilot said he built the plane himself. yesterday was a test flight. shortly after takeoff from allaway airplane the engine failed. he explains after he got the plane onto the ground, the wheels got caught in some tall grass causing the plane to flip over. he was left dangling upside down so first responders had to cut him out. after the rescue yesterday he told us he had practiced for situations just like this one. >> glide along, engine stopped and pick out a field and land. they keep the fields nice so it's easy. >> he has more than a decade of flight experience. this crash won't stop him from continuing his hobby. a trip to get ice cream sends two children to the hospital in phoenix. police say an 8-year-old boy and 7-year-old girl just made a purchase from the ice cream truck were crossing the street when they were hit by an suv. the girl is in critical condition and the boy is stable. the driver was taken into custody but so far not charged. 9:27 on this sunday. when we come back an "nbc 10 news today," we'll have more on our top the field and check out michelle grossman. she's on the scene of the deadly plane crash. let's talk about what's outside. how long will the windy weather last? >> weather coming through last night, gusty, dropped hail, thunder, lightning, gusty winds. we'll see winds for the next couple of hours. lunchtime high wind warnings in place. a live look outside. just looking outside, the wind is nice, mixture of sun and clouds, blue skies. it is cold temperatures in the 30s, windchills in the teens in some spots. we do have high wind warning until lunchtime. a few more hours of really gusty winds. we'll be windy this afternoon but not as gusty as this morning. winds out of the northwest. that's a cold direction. seeing cold temperatures. right now winds from 25 up to 35 miles per hour sustained. 29 miles per hour in philadelphia but gusting higher than that. winds gusting near 46 miles per hour in philadelphia, 48 in atlantic city, 46 in dover. earlier this morning around 7:00 we saw winds gussing over 60 miles per hour. so we're starting to see them lessen a bit. otherwise looking at a cold start, cold finish, 36 in philadelphia. 22 in mount pocono. right at the freezing mark in reading, 32, 38 in atlantic city 36 millville. factor in winds that feel colder than that. feels like 4 degrees in mount pocono. feels like teens to the north and west. by lunchtime temperatures right around 41, windchill in place, will be cold, mostly sunny skies, 44 and top out around 45. day today, warm up a bit monday, bring back rain. talk more about that coming up. thanks. now back to breaking news we're following in delaware county. we're learning an am track train struck a piece of construction equipment on the track and partially derailed. let's check in with nbc's monique braxton live on the scene in chester to explain what happened. monique. hey, rosemary. we just arrived at 9th and langley in chester. this is what we can show you. numerous emergency vehicles, responders on the scene. we've actually scene them load up passengers and take them away. investigators tell us two people are dead. one is confirmed injured. here is what else we know. am track train 89 was carrying 341 passengers and serve crew members when investigators say it struck a backhoe that was on the track. the lead engine derailed. we're also learning some passengers are being checked out. the train was heading from new york to savannah, georgia. am track service is now suspended between new york and philadelphia. we've also reached out to septa. septa tells us it has suspended wilmington newark line. we're going to remain on the scene and provide updated information as soon as it becomes available. but for now, two people are dead, one confirmed injured, as many as 341 being checked out because of an am track derailment and accident live for now from chester, monique braxton, nbc 10 news. >> monique, thank you for that. we'll check back with you very shortly. onto other news on a much lighter note we're talking about villanova. the march to victory and all time best. wildcats headed to the game after record setting romp in the final four. nbc 10's matt delucia live in houston where quite a few fans there remember the championship in 1985. matt. >> reporter: that's right, rosemary. some of these fans who came this weekend, they paid a small fortune to be here. $1,000 airfare, hotel rooms, you name it. but they got to see that game last night and that extraordinary win. now they are looking ahead to the game tomorrow night. this is what it looked like right after villanova beat oklahoma by 44 points something that doesn't happen at all. in fact, the biggest margin of victory in final four history. it's been 31 years since the last national champion for the wildcats and they are feeling good about one more. >> unreal on campus and here. when we saw they were up by 40 i canceled all my flights home tomorrow and we're staying until tuesday. so exciting. so now the wildcats get ready to take on north carolina. the national championship game will happen here in houston tomorrow night. here outside the team hotel, it was quite a bit of fanfare last night when the team came back on their bus. cheerleaders and fans waiting. a police and security presence out here right now. i'm already hearing about villanova watch parties in town and last night. hundreds of students, alumni, their friends, more fans poured into the quad. when 'nova wrapped things up in houston we were there as fans watching on the big screen exploded into a frenzy. they are getting psyched, ready for championship game. as we mentioned, this is the first time in 31 years. the last time it was done was in kentucky. >> fifteen friends and i decided to rent a winnebago and drive to lexington, kentucky, for the championship. >> incredible. oh, my gosh. i'm so proud to be a wildcat. >> police did make a few arrests, most for disorderly conduct. in total a half dozen arrests. police also blocked off traffic on lancaster avenue where fans blocked the roads. the ncaa championship, it is on. one day and 11 hours away from tip-off set for 9:19 tomorrow morning we have an update on the baby abducted from the king of prussia mall. nbc 10 uncovered while it took so long for some cell phone users to receive an amber alert about the kidnapping on thursday. >> our dispatcher may not have notified police with the exact protocol they want which could have potentially slowed the progress down. >> that's the word from the police chief in upper merion township. he said the lapse led to a domino effect which ultimately caused the delay. moore took the baby from the mall to a nearby home. moore told investigators she gave birth in february but her baby died a few hours later. investigators are working to confirm that. moore scheduled to be back in court on the 15th. the baby is safely back with his family. overseas today the airport in brussels is partially open for the first time since the terror attacks there on march 22nd. the airport is handling a limited number of flights. belgian police and military are screening all vehicles on the access road and only ticketed passengers will be allowed into the temporary checking area. isis took credit last month for the attack that killed 35 people and injured 300 others. they want me of politicians during the rally including ted cruz, john kasich, hillary clinton and the president. meanwhile as you just saw anti-trump protesters held a peaceful demonstration outside the event. polls, by the way, show trump trailing cruz by double digits in wisconsin. to the democrats now, polls show bernie sanders leading hillary clinton in wisconsin. both candidates attended founders day gala in milwaukee last night. meantime the haggling goes on over a possible debate before the new york primary later this month. both camps say they are hoping for an agreement in the future.
