degrees. that's at 10:00 this morning. we'll warm into the 80s today. upper 80s for philadelphia, 87 degrees with clearing skies. as the temperature goes up today, the humidity was so high yesterday will be coming down, making for a much more comfortable day and it will clear out the fog this morning. 80s inland for new jersey at the shore, 81 degrees with plenty of sunshine today. we'll take a look at your hour by hour forecast for each of our areas when i'm back in ten minutes. right now, jessica boyington is watching the roads on a wednesday morning. jessie? >> we're watching the schuylkill expressway still. that's because there is a very early morning accident around girard avenue. headed westbound, coming out of the city, one lane is getting by. this accident is now over into the right-hand lane and shoulder. just a little while ago, we pretty much had all lanes blocked with one car trickling through every once in a while. the traffic is moving slowly by the scene. no gaper delay headed eastbound. it's coming out of the city on the schuylkill expressway around girard avenue. watching construction out in new jersey on 295 southbound right around the 42 freeway, three lanes closed there. expressway, we're still dealing broad street and the schuylkill, should be re-opening in a half hour or so. tracy? cab driver stabbed. right now, that driver is in the hospital after an overnight attack. nbc 10's katy zachry is live at cooper hospital. katy, what are you learning about what unfolded? what happened? >> well, i just hung up with someone who works with the cab company. it is five starç cap company w this driver worked for, based out of pennsauken. they are waiting for an update. just within the last 30 seconds or so i spoke to relatives of the injured hospital who are inside cooper hospital. he's been upgraded to stable condition. good news. here is the cab that the driver was inside, just before midnight when all of this unfolded. he was stabbed right near front and state streets after he had picked up a fare just a few blocks away. witnesses say they were sitting outside an apartment complex when a cab came careening in the parking lot, they heard screaming from inside. some of the witnesses saw someone from the cab's back seat take off running. when those witnesses got closer and were able to help the driver, they saw he was bleeding from the chest, one woman but people in the back of her suv and drove him here to cooper university hospital. we're told the driver is a middle aged man who has been driving for the company for quite some time. he's actually related to the owner of the cab company. at 5:00, coming up in the next half hour, i'll tell you what i'm learning from this cab company about what their drivers are doing at night to make themselves less vulnerable after this attack and also they had one a couple years ago. this is something they're unfortunately familiar with. reporting live in camden, katy zachry, nbc 10 news. 4:34. 72 degrees outside. now to the terror in turkey. a deadly terrorist attack kills dozens of people at istanbul airport. this morning, the airport is back open as authorities are trying to piece together what led to those attacks. here's what we know. at least 36 people are dead, 147 people hurt in the attract. three suicide bombers. turkey's prime minister says his security forces believes isis is responsible. the suicide bombers arrived at the airport in a taxi, opened fire and blew themselves up. the presidential candidates are reacting to the terror in turkey. donald trump told a crowd in ohio yesterday, the u.s. has to get smart and tough on terrorism. and renewed calls to use torture. >> and you know, they eat dinner like us. can you imagine them sitting around the table or wherever talking about the americans don't do waterboarding and yet we chop off heads. they probably think we're weak, we're stupid, we don't know what we're doing. we have no leadership. you know, you have to fight fire with fire. >> meantime, hillary clinton did not discuss the attack at a town hall event in l.a. but released a statement on twitter last night saying seeing some small delays there. you can see one lane trickling by the area. still flashing lights. police activity on the scene. penndot crews as well. it is into the shoulder and right lane, one lane getting by on the schuylkill right now. at least it's still moving. 95 looks great, headed southbound into center city. no problems or delays yet, southbound from woodhaven road to the vine street expressway, 13 minutes. speeds into the 60s. no problems headed northbound. we don't typically seeç that a this time of morning. we're watching an accident on pine road and welsh road in lower moreland township. i'll have drive times on the schuylkill expressway when i come back. now your nbc 10 first alert weather with meteorologist bill henley. >> skies are starting to clear. a few scattered clouds, 71 degrees in philadelphia. look at the sunshine. the wind is important today. it starts out of the northwest. that's dry air that's moving in. yes, the temperature will be climbing quickly, but the humidity is coming down nicely. 84 degrees at 2:00 this afternoon. the suburbs, we've seen fog this morning. won't last. bright sunshine today. 75 degrees at 10:00. low 80s by 2:00 this afternoon. the winds just below ten miles an hour. the lehigh valley, there is fog to start with. sunshine will push the temperatures from the low 60s into the upper 60s. that's by 8:00 this morning. that's enough to get rid of the fog. then it's into the upper 70s by noontime. low 80s this afternoon. a beautiful day in the lehigh valley. for new jersey, yes, there's still clouds around but the clouds will be thinning out. look at the bright sunshine by 10:00, upper 70s into the middle 80s by 2:00 this afternoon. and the winds shifting, becoming more westerly at 4:00 this afternoon. a nice day across new jersey. at the shore, the clouds that are still around and a few sprinkles to start with won't last with sunshine breaking through the clouds. it's bright sunshine at lunch time and 78 degrees. delaware, you see a little bit of cloud cover to start with. not much. a few scattered clouds right now. 68 degrees, into the very low 80s at lunch time and climbing into the 80s during the afternoon. that's today. we stay dry today. there is wet weather in our future. in fact, you may have noticed it with the seven day at the bottom of the screen. we'll go through the impact. not clear how fast the trains were traveling or what they were hauling. several box cars fell and erupted in flames. >> just a massive black smoke coming up, just like burning up diesel fuel. >> after the amtrak derailment here in philadelphia last year, federal officials called for more use of positive train control. ptc uses gps technology to automatically slow or stop trains if they're in danger of colliding or derailing. the owner of both freight train says it does not appear the measure was being used where the trains collided. the company is aggressively deploying it across its network. 800 people trying to get help, trying to get to the bottom of a contaminated water problem packed the high school of a montgomery county auditorium last night. >> the best thing you can do is know your information. >> erin brockovich spoke via skype last night. horsham is one of three communities in bucks and montgomery counties where chemicals used may have leached into the water supply. people in those communities want to know if their illnesses are connected to the water and who's going to be held responsible. i'm hard working and i'll do anything. i'm not leaving here without a job. >> brockovich became famous after julia roberts won an oscar playing her character. the law firm she's associated with is behind the investigation into the water problems in horsham. a man accused of killing his wife with a crossbow over the weekend awaits his next court hearing next month. authorities have charged paul kuzan with murder. investigators say it happened sunday night on willits road in northeast philadelphia. police found pamela nightlinger bleeding after she ran to her neighbor's house for help. she later died at the hospital. survivors of sexual assault, their friends and several philadelphia officials delivered a powerful message at city hall. they spoke out against the sexual violence they say is plaguing our communities. one by one, they took turns reading an open letter written by the woman who was raped by a stanford university student. similar readings were held by congress and in the office of new york city's mayor. brock turner was convicted on three felony sexual counts. he was facing 14 years but instead, the judge sentenced him to 6 months. the sentence has drawn outrage from around the world. this morning, we're taking a look back at the life and legacy of former eagles coach buddy ryan. ryan died yesterday at the age of 85. he coakhdd in the nfl for 26 seasons and was the defensive coordinator when the chicago bears claimed their first and only super bowl during the 1985 season before coming to philadelphia. ryan is known as the architect of one of the greatest nfl defenses of all time. he's also known for his mouth. >> i get along with everybody, as long as they do things my way. >> what kind of player is a buddy ryan player? >> i think it's a player that knocks the guy down an laughs at him. >> we'd like same story since the last time we saw you ten minutes ago, the schuylkill expressway around girard avenue, headed westbound. still watching this accident scene. one lane is getting through the area. penndot crews might be leaving the scene. either way, those lanes are still blocked. flashing lights up ahead. when the camera is facing the lights, you just see a big, bright space. i can tell you it is block off into the shoulder and the next lane and one lane getting by headed westbound coming out of the city. no problems with the drive times if you're headed westbound that way. traffic is flowing again. ft. washington avenue and prospect avenue, watch out for that. the pa turnpike looks great. we are still in the green with drive times, 25 minutes westbound or eastbound from route 1 to that's dry air coming in pushing the clouds on out of here. a light shower moves past avalon, north wildwood and cape may, cloudy skies and dry. that's the last of the wet weather. skies are already clearing in philadelphia. the clouds have broken. fog will be disappearing and look how noyce and clear it is. next couple days we'll be enjoying plenty of sunshine. we'll be watching to the south. this is where i expect to see showers over the next few days linger to the south. you can see the moisture bubbling up during the afternoon. for tomorrow those showers are to the south. on friday morning, we'll see this shower activity move into central pennsylvania. that's first thing friday morning. look at 9:00, that rain reaching into berks county. that's due into philadelphia on friday by around midday. that's 12:30 in the afternoon.c moderate showers, possibly even a thunderstorm on friday. but until then, we're looking at sunshine. and even though it's going to be a warm one, yesterday was warm and humid even with the clouds and the rain, the clouds will be out, the humidity down and the temperatures up, into the upper 80s today. warmer tomorrow. then here comes the rain on friday. showers and the possibility of thunderstorms. just in time for the holiday weekend, the storms move out. even though it's going to be hot on saturday, temperatures come down for sunday. monday, the fourth of july, independence day will be a warm one. the humidity won't be bad. it will be lower than what you would normally expect in july. perfect weather for the evening concert and fireworks. sunday we'll see temperatures in the 80s. monday in the 80s but come tuesday, wednesday, thursday and friday, we've got a heat wave brewing. there is a chance of storms on thursday. not much cooler behind those storms on friday. a lot to enjoy before we get to that heat wave. especially this afternoon with the humidity coming down. it will be a nice comfortable, sunny summer day. >> minutes before 5:00 right now. a new business and trade school in wilmington will honor michael jackson during its grand opening sayre money today. the act generation global technology school will unveil its exhibit of more than 5,000 pieces of jackson memorabilia. people can also tour the school which specializes in audio, communication and technology. well, gas could go up 23 cents a gallon in new jersey just ahead of the holiday weekend. here's why. the senate will vote on a proposal tomorrow. assembly lawmakers pass the legislation yesterday after cutting a deal with governor chris christie to add the tax. christie proposed a fairness package that would cut state sales tax from 7% to 6%. in exchange, he's supporting the cost hike at the pump. drivers we talked to aren't looking forward to paying more at the pump. >> that will be really hard, especially on people for myself, lower income. i do have an suv but i'm working two jobs. >> i did travel for work. everybody has to get gas, especially for the holiday weekend. >> the money raised by the tax increase is needed to fund road and bridge work. the current transportation fund runs out of barrowing by the end of the week. the new bill would set up a $2 billion a year fund over the next eight years. meantime, tom wolf says he has concerns about a budget proposal put together by the statehouse. wolf says the plan as it is won't balance the deficit. he hopes the senate can fix it. the spending plan totals more than $31 billion and includes more money for schools and a tax increase on tobacco products. there are only a few days left until pennsylvania starts the new fiscal year on friday. after months of warning that money is tight, a delaware budget committee has approved almost $46 million in community grants. that money would go to nonprofits, community agencies and volunteer fire companies. the proposal is $2 million more than what the governor recommended. well, thieves have a new way to steal your identity and it might be sitting right in front of you or attached to us as we have it. >> almost always in our hands. they could hijack your cell phone. a federal government employee who lives near pittsburgh says it happened to her. she was tipped off when both her phone and husband's phone suddenly stopped working. someone in ohio used a fake i.d. to buy two new iphones in her name. >> said that it looked like we had some new iphones on our account. i said i didn't buy any new iphones. >> they'll use information to answer the security questions, information they might be able to find on your facebook account, for example, the name of your pet or street you grew up on. >> similar crimes are surfacing across the country. criminals often get the information they need by simply combing the internet and finding names linked to specific phone numbers. what can you do to prevent this from happening to you? first, be careful about whtç you post on social media sites. create an extra pass word or pin. make it a requirement before anyone can make changes to your fo cell phone account. >> i have so many pass codes and pin numbers, i get them mixed up. we just have to be more
