Philadelphia police are investigating two stabbings that happened in center city. This was the scene at 23rd and walnut streets. Police say the man was stabbed in the hand. It happened around 6 00 a. M. He is expected to be okay. A short time later, someone was slashed in the face at 21st and arch streets. Police are trying to find out if the two incidents are connected. So far no one has been arrested. A fire broke out this morning inside an unoccupied store front at the italian market. This is the corner of 9th and ellsworth streets. You can see the firefighters on the scene. We know the fire is under control but no word on what started it and no one there was hurt. In philadelphias germantown section. Police are trying to figure out what started this house fire near the corner of north 21st and west 65th avenue. This happened around 5 30 this morning and crews were able to put the flames out a short time later. Police say everyone did make it out safely. And police are investigating a gas station robbery in north philadelphia. This happened on north broad street around 2 00 this morning. Police say a man went into the gas station with a gun but its still unclear what he took when he left. The employee inside was not hurt and police are still looking for a suspect. A texas man is facing serious charges after he rammed his pickup truck right through the lobby of an Oklahoma Hotel. Nbcs Natalie Morales explains what made the driver so angry many the first place. Reporter shocking new video released monday shows the heartstopping moments for two employees at an Oklahoma Hotel after a disgruntled guest crashed his truck into the front desk. The driver, identified by police as john edward parsley can at first be seen talking with a Police Officer last thursday outside the alva comfort in and suites about 110 miles northwest of oklahoma city. Surveillance video shows parsley crashing his 2006 sierra gmc through the Hotel Entrance in the front desk as two women frantically dive for safety. Parsley backs up the truck, stops, then pulls back into the lobby. He says something to the women, gets out of the truck and calmly walks back to the entrance with his hands raised. The 62yearold man was reportedly upset his credit card had been declined twice. According to a local newspaper, parsley told police he drove into the hotel because hotel staff thought he was bluffing and he proved he wasnt. No one was injured but the lobby of the alva comfort inn and suites was severely damaged. Parsley, from gonzalez, texas, was held on a Million Dollars bond monday night on two felony counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and one count of malicious injury to property. One year ago, the fiveday forecast in buffalo was looking at a warming trend in the 30s and 40s. Hard to believe. This mild december is impacting Winter Sports in northern new england. Eight of vermonts ski areas have opened but several have had to delay their starts because of a lack of snow. The number of open resorts is expected to climb to 12, however, this weekend but they say they need more snow and much colder air. And theyre not going to get either. Not going to get snow and not going to get much colder air, even in new england, let alone dun in this area. We have gusty winds today but its not especially bringing in very cold air. We are tracking some heavy rain coming in in a couple of days and then real cold air. But its only going to last a couple of days and its not really that cold historically speaking, just relative. Theres the flag blowing, we have gusty winds out there this afternoon. 60 degrees. The wind 24 miles an hour, gusting up to 35 just during the last hour or so. And there we go, four days in a row with record high temperatures in philadelphia. Todays record set just after midnight with 69 degrees. And the average is 45. So here we are today right around the 60degree mark and it seems a little cooler but its still 15 degrees above normal. Well, its 54 in quakertown, one of the cool spots, 55 in allentown, reading, pottstown, 56 in doylestown and coatesville. 55 in kenett square. 58 in different trenton, 59 in wrightstown. These temperatures would be considered extremely warm for this time of year if we didnt just have four days of records. 60 degrees in delaware, even the ocean temperature is above normal. 10 to 15 degrees above. Here are the sustained winds now ranging up to 24 miles an hour sustained in philadelphia and in trenton. Thats pretty strong winds. And its going to bring in a little bit cooler air. Were going to have to wait until friday and the weekend to get some actual cold air in here and get the first freeze in philadelphia officially of the whole season. Not until this weekend. But then it doesnt last because here we go. Early next week the mild air comes right back and it stays with us through the week, we could see record warmth for Christmas Eve, for example, and still warm on Christmas Day. Things are pretty quiet today. We have some fair weather clouds coming in with those westerly winds. But as we go into thursday, things will be changing. First we have a little low level wind coming in off the ocean and then here comes this small but kind of powerful disturbance from the southwest. You can see some pretty heavy rain coming in there at 11 00 a. M. How much rain . Just in a relatively short period of time were not talking about much by 8 00 a. M. But it could be an inch or more, especially to the south by friday afternoon. Thursday afternoon. Now for the rest of today its windy, highs in the upper 50s, low 60s. Temperatures leveling off or going down a bit. Winds gusting to 35 miles an hour. Thunderstorm and thursday way above average. Gusty winds bringing Colder Weather on friday and then one legitimately cold day, saturday, when you add in the wind in, well have windchills and saturday night is the coldest and by the time the eagles are playing sunday night it should be down into the lower 40s compared to the 70 we saw this past sunday.
