heading, the weather looks good for it but temperatures will start to warm up. we'll take a look at the unseasonably warm thanksgiving forecast and also your thanksgiving black friday forecast and if interchange. you know, the traffic there seems to be moving slowly. there's gap where people are speeding up. and as you approach quakertown, people hitting the roads. the pennsylvania turnpike commission says we're in peak thanksgiving time and that's going last until 8:00 tonight. of course, there are many people who didn't bother trying to travel today. they took the whole week to spend thanksgiving with their loved ones. >> how's traffic been? >> so far real good. hopefully it's not going to be like that. >> reporter: the need to stop on a long road trip, it's obvious? >> my daughter's over there. she lives in princeton. we live in church hill, p.a. we're going to see my mom. >> reporter: they're thankful for good weather, friends and family they'll visit. >> i see what they did. they got an early start and left nearly yesterday or like real early in the wee hours of the morning while the rest of us were sleeping. >> what was once the biggest day to travel has become a day of rest. they've made a vacation out of thanksgiving week. they're no longer going to work and heading out to grandma's on wednesday night. they're seeing a sharp decline. they're making tuesday the biggest day to travel. >> yesterday we came in to atlantic city. my parents live out in jackson and then i'm going see some friends because i used to live in pennsylvania. >> they know the clear roads will be a thing of the past come sunday. >> i'm heading back probably on sunday. i have to go back to school. >> when do you go back? >> sunday. sunday late. >> we hoopering it won't be bad sunday night. >> reporter: looking live again at the pennsylvania turnpike, northeast extension there, we're also hearing from penndot that many of the people that will be hitting the roads at the same time on sunday. so even if you took a day or two ahead of the holiday, you know, the roads are going to be much different shape on sunday. penndot says the peek travel time will be mid morning to 6:00 a.m. penndot says it could be anywhere between 2:00 and 8:00 p.m. we're going go over and check out travel conditions in bucks county. we'll let you know more tonight. for now we're live. deanna and let's go eagles. >> there you go. a shout-out to the birds from wounded state trooper patrick casey. casey left the hospital today. his release comes just after 24 hours during which he wu was hit. trooper casey took a bullet in the shoulder following this fiery chase and craze. tonight police are still looking for one person in connection with the violence. nbc 10's doug shimell was there when trooper casey walked out of the hospital for the homelands. >> trooper casey sat in his c trooper casey's father sat in the car waiting for his son. >> reporter: trooper patrick casey still has a single round lodged in his shoulder. he was wounded when chasing a vehicle. >> i want to they everybody for all their prayers and support. let's go eagles. >> vivany was charged. >> he said he was grateful they did not kel his son and he said he was very sorry. >> i apologize for all my heart. >> reporter: state police still want to question the fourth person in that car, camire lewis. >> yes, intersection in franconia. you can see the cars are completely totaled. police are trying to figure out what caused the wreck. elsewhere russia's foreign ministry says it was planned. it helped them ahead. it's a a reunion in the years. a man who saved a life on the side of the road next. a man who saved a life on the new york city crime unit has this. a woman and her sister were walking down a street in brooklyn. police say one of the women bumped into danton coley while pushing her baby stroller. he went off, spitting on her, calling her offensive names. it turns out before he died, frank gifford had debilitating brain injury. he suffered from chronic traumatic encephalopathy. it's found to happen to football players. they often suffer memory loss, anger, confusion, and dementia. chicago is gearing up for more demonstrations throughout the city. it's the result of a video showing a 17-year-old shot and killed by a police officer. the protesters came out last night after officials released the dash cam video showing the shooting of 17-year-old laquan mcdonald last year. police say they made a couple of arrests but reported no serious incide incident. they say it shows officer jason van dyke shooting the teenager 16 times. they say the teen had a knife. prosecutors say that 3-inch knife was recovered from the scene with the blad folded sbiets handle. a few hours before the video release, officer jason van dyke turned himself in to police. his attorney says he feared for his light. they agreed to pay a $5 million settlement to the family. in just about 16 hours an annual holiday tradition will step off. we're talk about the annual macy's thanksgiving day parade. it's happening under the watchful eye of stepped up security. final preparations were under thanksgiving day. if you're doing any of that traveling. and, in fact, we have a warmup in time for thanksgiving, especially as we go into black friday. unseasonably warm for both tomorrow and even warmer for  friday. we could be near high record temperatures that day and then we duo into the weekend and our dry pattern comes to an end. we have showers moving in. right now it's 37 degrees in mt. pocono. 47 in allentown. 50 in philadelphia, 48 degrees in dover. soxt?iq it's cool outside. it's just not going to be as cold outside as we have seen recently. here's a live look. we're seeing the traffic moving here but there's a lot of traffic on the road. if you're going to be heading out, we'll watch the temperatures drop down by 10:00 p.m. and some areas will be in about the mid-30s as we go into tomorrow morning. so it's going to be a cool start. a chilly start to your thanksgiving day, just not as cold as we receive the past couple of morning. nice and dry. down into the southeast. really good travel weather. but it's when you get farther out west that they start to see the ice and snow developing. here's future weather. locally we stay nice and dry for tonight if you're doing any late night traveling and for your thanksgiving day, setting up. temperatures will be in the low 60s through tomorrow afternoon achlt good ten-degree jump for today. at the same time, thanksgiving, 5:00 in the evening, we'll be watching the weather develop in the middle of the country. this is where we expect travel delays. it's not going to be locally. down into parts of nebraska. even through parts of texas. stormy weather with icy and snowy weather on the backside of that storm system. slowly it will start to approach the storm area. here's friday at noon. warmer temperatures. we stay dry. and then we go into the week and the rain does eventually get closer, so by saturday afternoon we could be looking at scattered showers around. if you're doing any shopping, king of prussia, temperatures will be in the low 50s. by noon, low 60s and even as you go into parts of delaware and new jersey and any of the malls there in the low to mid 60s. tonight, clear skies. just not as cold. about the low 40s through the philadelphia area. then tomorrow we'll see a nice thanksgiving day. mix of sun and clouds. temperatures in the low to mid-60s. friday we get closer to 67 degrees. some areas could get closer to 65. then for the weekend we have a chance for showers saturday and even for part of sunday. but temperatures still looking pretty comfortable. >> so we know thanksgiving is a seen it look so good. >> we're telling you we're nearing the end of what the thought would be peak travel time for the day. they say most travel times will be where they're going. sometime between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. this evening, many people hitting the roads earlier this week. we found a number of travels already at their december tell nation and getting ready for the holiday. 657,000 cars hit the turnpike. an estimated half million hit the roads today. if you found yourself one of the lucky ones today not finding traffic. you're going to be in the thick of it if you choose to return on commissioners voiced their frustration and they tried to figure out how they're going to cope. >> this building here behind me is a consequence of the budget impasse. this was under construction by a nonprofit here in delaware county, but without that money coming in, this construction has stopped. >> we're probably over a million and a half dollars. >> in delaware county, kmoougs community action agency needs money. it's conserving what it can. >> what can be cut? >> shelters. >> reporter: not another hit for nonprofits like this one. >> unfortunately delaware county is running out of cash. >> they've been making up for state funds by dipping into the federal fund but they announced today that will stop december 1st. >> we need a stopgap measure. we need to get these funds rolling from the state. >> timing is crucial. >> is it sort of the worth time of year it could happen? >> probably -- yes. it's the worst time of year. >> until that money is flowing, this stays as it is. they tell me black friday. we could see warm temperatures, unseasonably warm weather. we stay dry until about saturday. take a look at our temperature trend today. we got to 55 degrees tomorrow. warming into the low 60s and by friday around 67 degrees. the average high, 52. we're going to be well above normal for this time of year. philadelphia area by 9:00 in the morning tomorrow. around 44 degrees. by noon, 57. lehigh valley by 9:00 a.m. you could be in the upper 30s and for parts of south jersey, the 50s by noon. even into the later evening hours. temperatures should be in the 50s and low 60s. it will be warmer thanksgiving day. the good news is we're going to stay nice and dry for it. 50 trees in philadelphia. 40s elsewhere. if you're about to head out, a lightle cool. nice and dry if you look at the sat lied and radar picture all the way from new england pretty much down into the southeast. but the one area apart of the country that we're seeing conditions maybe a little bit on a snowy side, he found the baby boichlt jose says he is happy he was able to save the baby but his heart also breaks for the child who was left alone on the widen floor of this unfinished nativity scene with purple towels covering his face. for police finding the baby's mom is on their mind. the baby named emmanuel. the law says you have to alert someone, let them know they're leaving the child. in queens, mark as cold as it has. by 8:00 tonight, mostly clear. 45 degrees and by 10:00, temperatures in the mid-40s. so chilly, not as cold as when you walk outside tomorrow morning. really no matter where you're heading, the weather looks good for it but temperatures will start to warm up. we'll take a look at the unseasonably warm thanksgiving forecast and also your thanksgiving black friday forecast and if interchange. you know, the traffic there seems to be moving slowly. there's gap where people are speeding up. and as you approach quakertown, people hitting the roads. the pennsylvania turnpike commission says we're in peak thanksgiving time and that's going last until 8:00 tonight. of course, there are many people who didn't bother trying to travel today. they took the whole week to spend thanksgiving with their loved ones. >> how's traffic been? >> so far real good. hopefully it's not going to be like that. >> reporter: the need to stop on a long road trip, it's obvious? >> my daughter's over there. she lives in princeton. we live in church hill, p.a. we're going to see my mom. >> reporter: they're thankful for good weather, friends and family they'll visit. >> i see what they did. they got an early start and left nearly yesterday or like real early in the wee hours of the morning while the rest of us were sleeping. >> what was once the biggest day to travel has become a day of rest. they've made a vacation out of thanksgiving week. they're no longer going to work and heading out to grandma's on wednesday night. they're seeing a sharp decline. they're making tuesday the biggest day to travel. >> yesterday we came in to atlantic city. my parents live out in jackson and then i'm going see some friends because i used to live in pennsylvania. >> they know the clear roads will be a thing of the past come sunday. >> i'm heading back probably on sunday. i have to go back to school. >> when do you go back? >> sunday. sunday late. >> we hoopering it won't be bad sunday night. >> reporter: looking live again at the pennsylvania turnpike, northeast extension there, we're also hearing from penndot that many of the people that will be hitting the roads at the same time on sunday. so even if you took a day or two ahead of the holiday, you know, the roads are going to be much different shape on sunday. penndot says the peek travel time will be mid morning to 6:00 a.m. penndot says it could be anywhere between 2:00 and 8:00 p.m. we're going go over and check out travel conditions in bucks county. we'll let you know more tonight. for now we're live. deanna and let's go eagles. >> there you go. a shout-out to the birds from wounded state trooper patrick casey. casey left the hospital today. his release comes just after 24 hours during which he wu was hit. trooper casey took a bullet in the shoulder following this fiery chase and craze. tonight police are still looking for one person in connection with the violence. nbc 10's doug shimell was there when trooper casey walked out of the hospital for the homelands. >> trooper casey sat in his c trooper casey's father sat in the car waiting for his son. >> reporter: trooper patrick casey still has a single round lodged in his shoulder. he was wounded when chasing a vehicle. >> i want to they everybody for all their prayers and support. let's go eagles. >> vivany was charged. >> he said he was grateful they did not kel his son and he said he was very sorry. >> i apologize for all my heart. >> reporter: state police still want to question the fourth person in that car, camire lewis. >> yes, intersection in franconia. you can see the cars are completely totaled. police are trying to figure out what caused the wreck. elsewhere russia's foreign ministry says it was planned. it helped them rescue the surviving pilot. syrian arm forces say they wenl into rebel territory who they say the sky let is in good help. the other pilot of the plane died. on monday there will be tro troops that will protect the president and other world leaders. belgian authorities are looking for mohammed abreny. today metro services has partially reopened in russia. the underground system was closed for four days. they continue to guard the stations as the country remains on high alert. closer to home attorney general kathleen kane will find out if she remains in office. the group did not say if kane should be removed. instead they referred the matter before the full senate. the goal is to determine if kane can continue her role as attorney general without a law license. an apology for slavery. ahead. it's a a reunion in the years. a man who saved a life on the side of the road next. a man who saved a life on the new york city crime unit has this. a woman and her sister were walking down a street in brooklyn. police say one of the women bumped into danton coley while pushing her baby stroller. he went off, spitting on her, calling her offensive names. it turns out before he died, frank gifford had debilitating brain injury. he suffered from chronic traumatic encephalopathy. it's found to happen to football players. they often suffer memory loss, anger, confusion, and dementia. chicago is gearing up for more demonstrations throughout the city. it's the result of a video showing a 17-year-old shot and killed by a police officer. the protesters came out last night after officials released the dash cam video showing the shooting of 17-year-old laquan mcdonald last year. police say they made a couple of arrests but reported no serious incide incident. they say it shows officer jason van dyke shooting the teenager 16 times. they say the teen had a knife. prosecutors say that 3-inch knife was recovered from the scene with the blad folded sbiets handle. a few hours before the video release, officer jason van dyke turned himself in to police. his attorney says he feared for his light. they agreed to pay a $5 million settlement to the family. in just about 16 hours an annual holiday tradition will step off. we're talk about the annual macy's thanksgiving day parade. it's happening under the watchful eye of stepped up security. final preparations were under way less than 24 hours before tens of thousands will pack the streets in management hop manha a glimpse of balloons and floats. >> we always police that parade with very large numbers of uniformed california. some drives say it took three hours to go only 15 miles. the snowy and icy roads also caused as you can imagine a number of accidents. well, we have some nice weather in store for your thanksgiving day. if you're doing any of that traveling. and, in fact, we have a warmup in time for thanksgiving, especially as we go into black friday. unseasonably warm for both tomorrow and even warmer for  friday. we could be near high record temperatures that day and then we duo into the weekend and our dry pattern comes to an end. we have showers moving in. right now it's 37 degrees in mt. pocono. 47 in allentown. 50 in philadelphia, 48 degrees in dover. soxt?iq it's cool outside. it's just not going to be as cold outside as we have seen recently. here's a live look. we're seeing the traffic moving here but there's a lot of traffic on the road. if you're going to be heading out, we'll watch the temperatures drop down by 10:00 p.m. and some areas will be in about the mid-30s as we go into tomorrow morning. so it's going to be a cool start. a chilly start to your thanksgiving day, just not as cold as we receive the past couple of morning. nice and dry. down into the southeast. really good travel weather. but it's when you get farther out west that they start to see the ice and snow developing. here's future weather. locally we stay nice and dry for tonight if you're doing any late night traveling and for your thanksgiving day, setting up. temperatures will be in the low 60s through tomorrow afternoon achlt good ten-degree jump for today. at the same time, thanksgiving, 5:00 in the evening, we'll be watching the weather develop in the middle of the country. this is where we expect travel delays. it's not going to be locally. down into parts of nebraska. even through parts of texas. stormy weather with icy and snowy weather on the backside of that storm system. slowly it will start to approach the storm area. here's friday at noon. warmer temperatures. we stay dry. and then we go into the week and the rain does eventually get closer, so by saturday afternoon we could be looking at scattered showers around. if you're doing any shopping, king of prussia, temperatures will be in the low 50s. by noon, low 60s and even as you go into parts of delaware and new jersey and any of the malls there in the low to mid 60s. tonight, clear skies. just not as cold. about the low 40s through the philadelphia area. then tomorrow we'll see a nice thanksgiving day. mix of sun and clouds. temperatures in the low to mid-60s. friday we get closer to 67 degrees. some areas could get closer to 65. then for the weekend we have a chance for showers saturday and even for part of sunday. but temperatures still looking pretty comfortable. >> so we know thanksgiving is a time for sharing but you don't want to be too generous. we have an important holiday warning for pet owners straight ahead. president obama sparing a pair of birds from becoming a holiday meal on this seen it look so good. >> we're telling you we're nearing the end of what the thought would be peak travel time for the day. they say most travel times will be where they're going. sometime between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. this evening, many people hitting the roads earlier this week. we found a number of travels already at their december tell nation and getting ready for the holiday. 657,000 cars hit the turnpike. an estimated half million hit the roads today. if you found yourself one of the lucky ones today not finding traffic. you're going to be in the thick of it if you choose to return on commissioners voiced their frustration and they tried to figure out how they're going to cope. >> this building here behind me is a consequence of the budget impasse. this was under construction by a nonprofit here in delaware county, but without that money coming in, this construction has stopped. >> we're probably over a million and a half dollars. >> in delaware county, kmoougs community action agency needs money. it's conserving what it can. >> what can be cut? >> shelters. >> reporter: not another hit for nonprofits like this one. >> unfortunately delaware county is running out of cash. >> they've been making up for state funds by dipping into the federal fund but they announced today that will stop december 1st. >> we need a stopgap measure. we need to get these funds rolling from the state. >> timing is crucial. >> is it sort of the worth time of year it could happen? >> probably -- yes. it's the worst time of year. >> until that money is flowing, this stays as it is. they tell me low 60s and by friday around 67 degrees. the average high, 52. we're going to be well above normal for this time of year. philadelphia area by 9:00 in the morning tomorrow. around 44 degrees. by noon, 57. lehigh valley by 9:00 a.m. you could be in the upper 30s and for parts of south jersey, the 50s by noon. even into the later evening hours. temperatures should be in the 50s and low 60s. it will be warmer thanksgiving day. the good news is we're going to stay nice and dry for it. 50 trees in philadelphia. 40s elsewhere. if you're about to head out, a lightle cool. nice and dry if you look at the sat lied and radar picture all the way from new england pretty much down into the southeast. but the one area apart of the country that we're seeing conditions maybe a little bit on a snowy side, that's going to be over the rockies. now, this is for the evening tonight at 8:00 p.m. we expect good travel weather here. now we're looking at the middle of the country for your thanksgiving day. this is the spot where we expect at least some delays travel wise from parts of texas up through parts of chicago and minneapolis that. is the big thanksgiving storm that will be brugge tomorrow. stormy conditions farther down around texas up to kansas city. snow and ice on the back side all the way up through minneapolis and right in time for dinner tomorrow we storms approaching the chicago area. for us around dinnertime, we still expect good travel weather. now we jump ahead to friday. it will be a warmer day. then you see a line of rain. that's our approach for saturday. that will be
