affect some sunrise services, it's basically daylight instead of a bright sunshine, but the day turns out to be fairly decent with the afternoon temperatures coming in fairly nice. 43 degrees, beautiful start expected. fairly comfortable with temperatures on the island. 38 degrees further inland. our temperatures are warmer, almost five the to ten degrees warmer than yesterday at this time. this is a significant way to start the day because it's exactly how it ends up. the reason we're getting cloud cover this morning is because of an onshore flow. and also provide more cloud cover. the further inland you go, the skies will break more dramatically. you see the winds coming onshore and that creates some of the cloudiness and moisture that we'll see in the form of clouds. no showers bergen performing arts center. last week flames tore through the 150-year-old church on palisades avenue. on this day, parishioners are gathering with a lot of gratitude that no one was hurt remains services. this was last tuesday when the fire broke out at the first presbyterian church. the fire badly damaged the 150-year-old church. the cause of the fire still under investigation. congress certainly, and been very generous. for me personally, i love that church. that the pastor of the first presbyterian church showed to parishioners during that good friday service. he says that it was stephanie shults were living in brussels. they had just dropped justin's mother off at the airport and that's when the bombs went off. justin turned 30 years old just a few weeks ago. on saturday, authorities detailed the latest arrest stemming are from the attacks. three people have been charged. among them this man identified as faycal c.. he's been charged with murder. he's been reported to be the seen as the man on the right in the brussels airport after the the brussels airport after the bombing. the suspect that's still being looked for is is very dangerous. experts are assessing damage to the building at the airport as well as problems with information systems there. in an example of how tense things are, a new york city bound air are france plane was evacuated in paris after an anonymous threat was made. the plane was about to take off for jfk. as a precaution, air france evacuated the plane and did a full check. thankfully nothing was found. it's a solemn anniversary in some of the sky from brightening up, but we can still see the horizon and beautiful colors. not much is lost. the day itself actually from this point out. you can see the clouds are hanging around. we'll see sun breaks before all is said and done. the clouds are actually the result of an easterly wind. onshore flow will keep parts of long island in the mid to upper 30s. any places that are close to the coastline will actually stay cooler and have more clouds. further inland that you get, the temperatures will be warmer and we'll also see more sunshine in those locations. we've got clouds in place, onshore flow coming in. when we see improvements as the day goes on, the clouds start to thin. future cast has us after midnight seeing rain move into the area. i'll have details in the full today. they expect such a large turnout. this was last tuesday when a fire broke out at the fiers presbyterian church -- first presbyterian church. the fire badly damaged the church . the cause of the fire still under investigation. they celebrated good friday at near by saint paul's episcopal church. those have been so thankful to the community which has come out to help. >> it is a devastation to the whole community, for one thing. certainly, been very generous. for me personally, i love that church. >>reporter: this is a cross that the pastor of the first presbyterian church showed to to the are the areas that are going to stay the coolest. long island, these coastal locations for connecticut, all along the new jersey shore, temperatures are going to be colder than they are inland. we see this reflected in the 24-hour temperature change where it's a lot warmer for new jersey. ten degrees warmer than yesterday. the patterns show up through the day repeatedly where the cooler temperatures are east, warmer temperatures west. on the accu track, no rain for now. there is a low pressure system off the carolinas here. there is also energy that's coming, swinging out of the great lakes. as those two come together late tonight after midnight, we'll see rain developing, light rain drizzle overnight, just past midnight and into tomorrow morning. there will be rain on and off at times monday morning and then another shower coming in for monday afternoon. so you basically need your umbrella all day to start off the workweek on monday. 60 degrees is the high today in poughkeepsie. and maybe limited to 40s at coastal locations. the further away from the shore you are, the less that onshore flow or cool breeze will affect your weather pattern. watch long island loses some the cloud cover, but does get the effect of the cool temperatures. we see more clouds hanging around for central and south jersey and then the rain beginning after midnight tonight through the morning hours, through the morning rush tomorrow and tennessee, 11:00, we could see another break. tuesday and wednesday are really nice days. 52, breezy, sunshine. overnight tonight it's rain and drizzle will developing with the 40s. tomorrow we'll push the temperatures into the upper 50s. a little more mild, but the rain will be on and off. the accuweather seven-day forecast tuesday and wednesday, mid-50s. that's on target for this time of year. we looked at the long term climate averages, low to mid-50s we get a little warmer on thursday, taking the numbers into the upper 60s. only of the church said he was willing to hold holy week services in a parking lot if they had to. st. paul's church offered up space. it's hard for parishioners to realize their beloved church will never yesterday on the upper west side. the 19-year-old victim was on the mezzanine level of a train station when four men approached hip, accused of slashing him in the back, head and hands and the breaks and then the sun goes down and we wait for rain after midnight. better the temperatures will be and perhaps the brighter the skies will be as well. if you're right up against the coast, you're going to have more clouds and your temperatures are going to be a little cooler. because this air is coming off the ocean water, which has water temperatures right now 40 to 49 degrees. most of the buoys are reading upper 40s now. that keeps the land numbers down as well. the this pattern starts to break late tonight and early tomorrow. a high pressure system off to the east starts to slide further away, allowing for this mess here to come up. it's a low pressure system coming off the coast. push of energy coming in from the west as well. all these things on the map add up to cloudier and cooler conditions for us today. and then we wait for the warm highs today, low 50s in the bor bur owes. 60s degrees if in poughkeepsie. 57 is the forecast high for moore's town. watch the temperatures stay steady in the low 50s, but rain moves in and stays with us monday with one renegade shower on late monday afternoon. we break down the numbers like this. breezy, sunshine, 52. was badly -- center after their church was badly damaged by fire ishgs kristin thorne is live with more. >>reporter: the first presbyterian church parishioners will gather this morning at the bergen performing arts center to hold services. it's about going to be held here because they are expecting such a large turnout. this is all happening, of course, because last tuesday there was a large fire at the church on palisades avenue. the fire badly damaged the 150-year-old church. they celebrated good friday at nearby st. paul's episcopal choich, which offered up space. those with the church say they have been so thankful to the community which has come out to help them. they'll have services here at live in englewood, kristin thorne,. the man who says he was attacked by jr smith in man shat an is now suing the basketball player. he was in town last night when the cleveland cavaliers played the knicks. the game comes days after justin brown said he would sue the nba player for $2.5 million bucks, saying he was choked smith last november outside the arena. he was not arrested after the incident. good day to celebrate easter and hang out with family and eat too much. >> the easter see any breaks in the sky. but these clouds are not that thick so we'll hope for some warming. the issue is an easterly wind, that's what's keeping us socked in. the winds will be 15 to 18 miles an hour through the afternoon. here are the numbers. we'll see temperatures that do go into the low 50s today and then we'll also see temperatures that climb over the next several days into the 60s. the
