>> i wish i had my little easter bunny ears going this morning. absolutely a good start as far as the mood goes and the weather cooperates right with us. we have a few clouds link gering which may affect some sunrise services, it's basically daylight instead of a bright sunshine, but the day turns out to be fairly decent with the afternoon temperatures coming in fairly nice. 43 degrees, beautiful start expected. fairly comfortable with temperatures on the island. 38 degrees further inland. our temperatures are warmer, almost five the to ten degrees warmer than yesterday at this time. this is a significant way to start the day because it's exactly how it ends up. the reason we're getting cloud cover this morning is because of an onshore flow. and also provide more cloud cover. the further inland you go, the skies will break more dramatically. you see the winds coming onshore and that creates some of the cloudiness and moisture that we'll see in the form of clouds. no showers during the day. in fact it's drizzle and light rain tonight, after midnight, in fact, that we see that happen. temperatures in the low 50s in new york city on this easter sunday. coming up, the wet start to the workweek and details on the week ahead. rob. >> amy, thank you very much. to the news now. parishioners of a historic church destroyed by fire will still come together to worship at the bergen performing arts center. last week flames tore through the 150-year-old church on palisades avenue. on this day, parishioners are gathering with a lot of gratitude that no one was hurt remains very much intact. kristin thorne is live in inglewood with more. >> happy easter to everyone. the church is planning to hold services here because they do expect a large turnout of people for easter services. this was last tuesday when the fire broke out at the first presbyterian church. the fire badly damaged the 150-year-old church. the cause of the fire still under investigation. congress gants -- congregants say they have been so thankful to the community that has really come out to help. >> it is a devastation to the whole community, for one thing. the commute has come forward, certainly, and been very generous. for me personally, i love that church. that the pastor of the first presbyterian church showed to parishioners during that good friday service. he says that it was pulled from the rubble. he says it is a sign that they should and that they will rebuild. we're live this morning, i'm kristin thorne, channel 7, eyewitness news. police are searching for four men stephanie shults were living in brussels. they had just dropped justin's mother off at the airport and that's when the bombs went off. justin turned 30 years old just a few weeks ago. on saturday, authorities detailed the latest arrest stemming are from the attacks. three people have been charged. among them this man identified as faycal c.. he's been charged with murder. he's been reported to be the seen as the man on the right in the brussels airport after the the brussels airport after the bombing. the suspect that's still being looked for is is very dangerous. experts are assessing damage to the building at the airport as well as problems with information systems there. in an example of how tense things are, a new york city bound air are france plane was evacuated in paris after an anonymous threat was made. the plane was about to take off for jfk. as a precaution, air france evacuated the plane and did a full check. thankfully nothing was found. it's a solemn anniversary in loving, so caring. >> a 26-year-old restaurant employee was also killed. as the community and family members now remember, nick's family with a piece of the fire escape given to him by the fire department. >> this is the ladder that drops down are from the fire escape. >> dozens were left homeless when the buildings came down and it was days before many could return home, if at all. >> i realize everything. everything was gone. >> mildred spent 44 years on the fourth floor of the building where the explosion happened. . building owner is facing charges for an illegal gas line hiding from the inspectors. the line was restored moments after they left the building, causing the blast. legislation is being introduced to go after negligent landlords. >> this situation went on for months and turned into a tragedy, so we don't have that in another location. >> during the vigil, nick's mother says not a day goes by she doesn't think about her son the building owner is expected back in court later this week. channel 7, eyewitness news. american airlines was forced to apologize to customers after a pilot failed a sobriety test. these photos were taken from a passenger on board the plane. they're believed to be that american airlines pilot. a tsa agent actually smelled alcohol as the pilot passed through security in detroit when he arrived for the flight to philly. he failed two tests and his bac was over the legal limit for pilots. the flight of course was canceled and passengers were rebooked on other flights. 6:10, coming up, triple win in the western caucuses for presidential candidate bernie sanders. it's a huge win for him, boost for supporters, but is it enough to move him closer to the democratic nomination? >> huge. >> feel the bern, amy. with morning. >>reporter: good morning, michelle. the first presbyterian church had been holding services at nearby churches, but today they will hold services here at the because they do expect such a services. this was last tuesday when flames broke out at the church the cause still under investigation. the pastor says he was willing to hold holy week services in a parking lot if he had to, but of surveillance video. police say he pulled a gun at adl jewelers on friday and demanded gold, diamonds and watches. he then fled with $15,000 worth of jewelry. also police in brooklyn are warning that a serial robber praying on elderly women. he's tied to four violent rob beries dating back several months. his latest victim was an 81-year-old woman held up last threatened with a gun and box cutter. earlier this month he attacks a 91 -year-old woman, pushing her into her home and choking her at gunpoint. some residents are saying they're becoming much more aware of their surroundings. >> it makes you be more vigilant, think about coming home late at night, watch behind your back when people are coming behind you and you go into your house, it is really alarming. >> the suspect is believed to be about 5-10, weighing around 250 pounds. protestors rallied in minneapolis, calling for charges for two officers charged of shooting and kill a man during an arrest. >> prosecute the police! >> the county prosecutors says a decision will be made by the end of the month about whether or not to charnl the officers -- charge the officers with a death. police say there was a struggle for the officers' gun, but several eyewitnesses say the the time. more than 30,000 people are supporting a petition calling for guns to be allowed inside the republican national convention. the quicken loans arena in cleveland where the convention will take place does not allow firearms, but ohio is an open carry state. the change.org petition quotes the presidential hopefuls who have all spoken out against gun free zones. the petition originally was only aiming for about five thousand signatures, but has since increased the number to 35,000. a little less solution to this story we first told you sun breaks later this afternoon. shore, these are areas that will hold onto clouds longer and your temperatures will stay cooler as well. let's spin the weather wheel. temperatures in the low 40s through 10 a.m. take it through the low 50s this afternoon with a high of 52 in the city. temperatures settle back down and we get clouds coming in tonight. this pattern is one that will set the stage for rain late tonight. so we're right in between systems. cool air feeding p in. warm air waiting off to the west. as that starts to make its way towards the east coast, we'll see a collision of the air masses and showers develop late tonight. radar and satellite picks panlt the story for us. we're cloudy now, then we get sun breaks. the east winds will continue in the afternoon and then the rain very late tonight, after midnight. no worries about rain on the parade or the easter bunny or any festivities you have going areas north and west of the city will be warmer today. here comes the rain and it's sporadic early tomorrow. you'll need your umbrella and another shower in the afternoon before all is said and done. the accuweather seven-day forecast, 52, breezy sunshine, 42 tonight. rain some of the sky from brightening up, but we can still see the horizon and beautiful colors. not much is lost. the day itself actually from this point out. you can see the clouds are hanging around. we'll see sun breaks before all is said and done. the clouds are actually the result of an easterly wind. onshore flow will keep parts of long island in the mid to upper 30s. any places that are close to the coastline will actually stay cooler and have more clouds. further inland that you get, the temperatures will be warmer and we'll also see more sunshine in those locations. we've got clouds in place, onshore flow coming in. when we see improvements as the day goes on, the clouds start to thin. future cast has us after midnight seeing rain move into the area. i'll have details in the full today. they expect such a large turnout. this was last tuesday when a fire broke out at the fiers presbyterian church -- first presbyterian church. the fire badly damaged the church . the cause of the fire still under investigation. they celebrated good friday at near by saint paul's episcopal church. those have been so thankful to the community which has come out to help. >> it is a devastation to the whole community, for one thing. certainly, been very generous. for me personally, i love that church. >>reporter: this is a cross that the pastor of the first presbyterian church showed to to the are the areas that are going to stay the coolest. long island, these coastal locations for connecticut, all along the new jersey shore, temperatures are going to be colder than they are inland. we see this reflected in the 24-hour temperature change where it's a lot warmer for new jersey. ten degrees warmer than yesterday. the patterns show up through the day repeatedly where the cooler temperatures are east, warmer temperatures west. on the accu track, no rain for now. there is a low pressure system off the carolinas here. there is also energy that's coming, swinging out of the great lakes. as those two come together late tonight after midnight, we'll see rain developing, light rain drizzle overnight, just past midnight and into tomorrow morning. there will be rain on and off at times monday morning and then another shower coming in for monday afternoon. so you basically need your umbrella all day to start off the workweek on monday. 60 degrees is the high today in poughkeepsie. and maybe limited to 40s at coastal locations. the further away from the shore you are, the less that onshore flow or cool breeze will affect your weather pattern. watch long island loses some the cloud cover, but does get the effect of the cool temperatures. we see more clouds hanging around for central and south jersey and then the rain beginning after midnight tonight through the morning hours, through the morning rush tomorrow and tennessee, 11:00, we could see another break. tuesday and wednesday are really nice days. 52, breezy, sunshine. overnight tonight it's rain and drizzle will developing with the 40s. tomorrow we'll push the temperatures into the upper 50s. a little more mild, but the rain will be on and off. the accuweather seven-day forecast tuesday and wednesday, mid-50s. that's on target for this time of year. we looked at the long term climate averages, low to mid-50s we get a little warmer on thursday, taking the numbers into the upper 60s. only of the church said he was willing to hold holy week services in a parking lot if they had to. st. paul's church offered up space. it's hard for parishioners to realize their beloved church will never yesterday on the upper west side. the 19-year-old victim was on the mezzanine level of a train station when four men approached hip, accused of slashing him in the back, head and hands and the breaks and then the sun goes down and we wait for rain after midnight. better the temperatures will be and perhaps the brighter the skies will be as well. if you're right up against the coast, you're going to have more clouds and your temperatures are going to be a little cooler. because this air is coming off the ocean water, which has water temperatures right now 40 to 49 degrees. most of the buoys are reading upper 40s now. that keeps the land numbers down as well. the this pattern starts to break late tonight and early tomorrow. a high pressure system off to the east starts to slide further away, allowing for this mess here to come up. it's a low pressure system coming off the coast. push of energy coming in from the west as well. all these things on the map add up to cloudier and cooler conditions for us today. and then we wait for the warm highs today, low 50s in the bor bur owes. 60s degrees if in poughkeepsie. 57 is the forecast high for moore's town. watch the temperatures stay steady in the low 50s, but rain moves in and stays with us monday with one renegade shower on late monday afternoon. we break down the numbers like this. breezy, sunshine, 52. was badly -- center after their church was badly damaged by fire ishgs kristin thorne is live with more. >>reporter: the first presbyterian church parishioners will gather this morning at the bergen performing arts center to hold services. it's about going to be held here because they are expecting such a large turnout. this is all happening, of course, because last tuesday there was a large fire at the church on palisades avenue. the fire badly damaged the 150-year-old church. they celebrated good friday at nearby st. paul's episcopal choich, which offered up space. those with the church say they have been so thankful to the community which has come out to help them. they'll have services here at live in englewood, kristin thorne,. the man who says he was attacked by jr smith in man shat an is now suing the basketball player. he was in town last night when the cleveland cavaliers played the knicks. the game comes days after justin brown said he would sue the nba player for $2.5
