>> i slept okay. i did not spring forward. >> fell back? >> i moved forward unconsciously. it was like an inch and then a step and then i'm moving. but yeah, losing an hour was not great, but i think we'll all be happy as we see the sun a little later in the evening. and that will make up for it, we hope. it's mild. as the day gets under way, temperatures are prety easy to take of. overnight we barely had places dropping into the upper 40s in long island and new jersey. northwest new jersey upper 30s and low 40s. temperatures are about 15 to 20 degrees warmer than they were yesterday at the same time. temperatures go. there will be more loudz dhan accu track bringing the clouds . the chance for showers to close out the weekend is still here. looks like it comes in late weather for tomorrow. 50s for the afternoon with a high of 60 expect know new york rain. it will be raw, blustery and uncomfortable. we'll talk about that seven-day forecast in just a few to the news now, crews in westchester county will resume their search for two missing crew members this morning. it was our top story yesterday. a tugboat crashed into a construction barge in the hudson river where the new bridge is being built. one person did die in all of this. kristin thorne is live on the scene with the very latest. >>reporter: good morning, rob. yes, the coast to suspend its search last night because the waters were just too rough. later on this morning we do expect other agencies to take to the water to search for the two missing crew members. this is a picture of one crew member. 62-year-old paul of new jersey was recovered. we know that one of the missing crew members is 29 years old. it was early yesterday morning when the tugboat hit a the bridge. the boat quickly took on water and sank. we spoke with the man's daughter by phone. she says her dad was supposed be to be on vacation, but they called him to come back to work. >> they called him back. he picked up his bags, he loved his job and was excited to go. he was on diesel subs in the navy and we grew up around the water. >> reporter: we also expect that at some point crews will begin pulling the tugboat out of the water. right now it remains at the bottom of the hudson river. two men now face charges in the deadly beating of a bouncer at a queens bar. two men are facing manslaughter deadly attack that happened at johnny's restaurant and bar early yesterday morning. a group of people attacked ellsworth deal reid when he tried to break up a fight and he went into cardiac arrest. >> he comes home and says we had a fight, we had a fight, he always tells me that. never had a problem with any. >> the victim's wife says the inside. right now it is unclear how many more people were involved in the deadly fight. violent protests erupt again outside of a donald trump protest, this time in kansas city, missouri. police say they had to use pepper spray twice on hundreds of anti-trump demonstrators. four people were arrested. >> that was outside. inside more protestors tried to the presidential candidate's response? (man) i heard that. now get our best offer ever. super fast 100 meg internet, plus tv & phone for just $69.99 a month online with no annualcontract. 100 meg speeds at a price this good? fios can do that. cable just can't. . some good news to bring you this morning. a new jersey community came together to try and help an 11-year-old girl who is battling a rare and aggressive form of leukemia. yesterday hundreds of folks showed up in fort lee for a bone marrow registry drive for 11-year-old sixth grader. she needs a donor match as soon as possible. she needs a bone mare or transplant in the next six weeks ar so. 445 people registered as potential bone marrow donors. a lab is now analyzing the samples and looking for the match. i heard the crowd was so good and came from all over the tri-state. the test is a swab of the cheek. event and had to go out and get more because the demand was so much greater -- >> that's the best thing i've heard in forever. >> it was so good. to be there cover the story and get a great response. viewers responded on social media and of course humanity, it feels good this morning. >> be the match. >> it's be the match, right. >> that was robin roberts big message when she went through her battle. >> that's great. hope for good news for her. >> fingers crossed. >> it doesn't have to be a perfect match sometimes too. >> it's perfect if it's ideal, but there are other options. >> good stuff. yesterday was delightful. the temperatures were easy, the skies were beautiful, everybody was in a good mood. >> good night to make s'mores. >> i saw that on your facebook. >> we were cooking up, we had the fire going. >> i think you could probably get away with it one more night. it's not as perfect today as it we're starting off with very mild temperatures. that stays the same. but more clouds today, showers coming in for the beginning of the workweek. we begin this morning with the spring forward, doesn't look quite as bright as yesterday morning. we've got great visibility, empire state building and one world trade. no clouds there. we checked the numbers. 53 degrees right now in central park. humidity 57% and the west minds winds at 5 miles an hour. pressure is falling. most spots were in the 50s overnight. some spots dropped into the 40s. east hampton 47 degrees. down the shore, temperatures were in the upper 40s and around 50 degrees. 48 in bell mar, 50 in newark, 42 in sussex. we're more mild this morning for sure. the clouds sort of held in the that's what gives us the head start. now we track the showers which are making their way across the midwest and south. as they come together here on the east coast, showers come in late tonight. as the rain advances east, we'll see the high pressure pull back. a lot of new england very nice. we get a decent rain comes here and takes over much of the east coast with a little bit of that high pressure holding on. much cooler temperatures and rain coming in this week. we'll be below average tomorrow which has nt happened for quite a white. you can see by late tonight and early tomorrow morning, rain across the area, the entire tri-state is affected right into monday afternoon and even into monday evening and early tuesday morning. we don't quite shake the showers tuesday. it becomes cloudy, rain happens again at night. showers move in from the southwest and they'll spread to the northeast. if you have to do traveling tonight, getting home from a big weekend or whatever, you have most of the day to enjoy. this evening the rain moefz in. cloudy and blustery tomorrow, periods of rain. 45 degrees for the temperature tomorrow. let that just kind of settle with you. raw and rainy on monday, winds gusting to 30 miles an hour. the periods of rain continue through the afternoon and evening showers. we shake the showers on tuesday after a slow start. we get a high of 58. wednesday is warm, 65 degrees. that's two wednesdays in a row. right on, right? hour, man. it's going to be a roughly couple days for the adjustment. what we did do is spring forward with the temperatures. i mean, yesterday we were starting off in the cold territory where some spots were below freezing north and west of the city. we're in the 50s in the burrows to start off this sunday. we end with mild temperatures, but it's not a perfect looking end to the weekend. more clouds today than yesterday and also tracking the showers that are moving in. let's check the numbers. first up, we've got low 50s close in, great neck currently at 40. east hampton has 49 degrees. once we get into the afternoon, these temperatures should climb easily about ten degrees. there will be some spots that get a little warmer, but looking across the board, 49 for white the same for tom's river. the low 40s are hanging on. compared to yesterday's 20s, it feels decent. clouds kept some of that warmth in and behind it we've got showers making their way into pennsylvania right now. we'll track those moving into our area later on to night. you've got the rest of the day to enjoy the comfortable temperatures. there will be clouds around, but get ready for the changes. we've got rain and it is a wet start to the workweek. those details in the accuweather seven-day forecast next. 6:32. crews in westchester county resume their search for two missing crew members. >> yesterday a tugboat crashed into the hudson river for the one person did die. kristin thorne is live on the scene with the very latest. >>reporter: hi, rob and michelle. yes, at some point this morning perhaps around 10:30 this morning we're told, crews will take back to the waters here for these two missing crew members. the body of 62-year-old paul amon of new jersey was recovered yesterday. his daughter tells us he was on vacation when he was called to go back to work. it was around 5:30 when the 90-foot tugboat crashed into a stationary construction barge at the tappan zee bridge. governor kooum -- cuomo says it just seems to be a tragic accident. the coast guard was searching the water until about 9:00 last night and then forced to suspend because of dangerous waters. >> as much as we're concerned for the safety of the crew, we're not putting our officers at risk of becoming victims themselves. it's not safe for us to surface of the water. >>reporter: authorities have not yet released the identities of the two missing crew members although we have been told that one of them is twept 9 years old. live in tarrytown this morning, kristin thorne, channel 7 eyewitness news. police arrested a new jersey city man in the stabbing death of an 81-year-old woman. >> 50-year-old man faces murder, robbery and other charges in the killing of a woman in her home last month. investigators say she suffered multiple blunt and sharp force injuries. she lived alone and was not found until the next morning. police arrested a 26-year-old man for crashing snowmobile into two iditarod mushers, killing one of the dogs. he faces assault and reckless endangerment charges. investigators say he drove into one of king's dogs was killed, two others injured. >> missed me by inches at 80 miles an hour and clipped the team as he continued and never stopped. so it all happened in an instant. >> he told the alaska dispatch news he didn't intentionally drive into the dog teams. he said he blacked out when he was coming home from drinking in another village. a woman in critical season after being hit by a car and being thrown off an overpass in queens. she was on the expressway at 5:00 yesterday morning helping a friend who had crashed her car. police say 22-year-old samantha maloney was driving drunk when she crashed into a divider and pulled over to the side of the road. when her friend arrived, an off duty emt, christopher pierce, also stopped. police lieutenant lost control of his car, slamming into the three stopped cars and sending that woman over the side of the elevated road. she's in the hospital. maloney has been charged with dui. the world's oldest man is a holocaust survivor according to the guinness book of world record. 112-year-old izsrael was born in poland. he survives auschwitz, but his first wife and kids were killed. he went on to remarry, growing his family and a successful con infection airy business. crystal says he doesn't know the secret to a long life, just that we must work as hard as we can to rebuild what is lost. >> what he has seen and endured, un real. a lot of young boys fantasize about becoming pro baseball players. well, one below the norm at high temperature. much cooler air coming in for the start of the workweek as well. northwest new jersey, looking at temperatures in the low to mid-40s in most spots. randolph coming in at 39 degrees, one of the cooler spots right now. newark and trenton, 59 degrees. 68 on the island. brentwood 46 for you. montauk 48 degrees. bridgeport 48 degrees. . 24 hour temperature change, it's much warmer than it was yesterday. we've got mild air in place and it sticks around. air mass, but what changes today are the skies. it's not going to be as bright and blue and sunny as it was yesterday. we have clouds around and tracking showers. timing looks like well after sunset we start to attract showers coming in. you can see it moving first from the southwest and then spreading to the northeast. so places like south and central new jersey, you'll see the rain showers first and then connecticut you'll see them overnight. predawn we're expecting rain in the area and it continues on and off, these periods of rain, all day on monday. at times it will get heavier later in the day and we don't shake the showers until tuesday just before the sun comes up. so it will be a slow start to the day on tuesday is what we're thinking. highs are forecasted in the upper 50s and low 60s. clouds increase rapidly and rain arrives at night, well above average for this day. tonight we slip into the 40s and start with 42 tomorrow morning and go to 45. that's not a lot of warming up. so expect to need your rain gear, a coat that will keep you warm and shield you from the showers and then we'll start to see the temperatures rebound after we get rid of the rain early tuesday morning. going back to 58 in the afternoon, wednesday 65. that's the best day of the week. thursday we return to showers in the afternoon. friday 55. looks like a of saturday afternoon showers, 58 degrees there. looking down the stretch of the seven day accuweather forecast, wednesday really is the here. you'll need your rain gear through the day. periods of rain come and go. it's blustery with wind as well, making it feel raw and uncomfortable. we don't shake the showers until early tuesday morning, just before sunrise. and then finally it shoves off and we see temperatures rebound on tuesday and everything returns to a little more pleasant pattern for a couple of days. highs today in the upper 50s and low 60s. another day similar to yesterday where it's comfortable in the afternoon, but we'll have more clouds. we go down to 42 tonight and that temperature is actually where we will remain for the so know that the rain does begin in some places very late tonight and it's in place early tomorrow morning. but we only go to 45 degrees. so these periods of rain and the blustery feel will leave us with below average temperatures, while. we've been living the high life with spring temperatures in the 60s and the recorder breaker last week -- record breaker last week. tuesday 58, nice and warm wednesday. thursday still mild with the shower showers. friday looks rainy. heading into early next weekend, looks like we'll have showers around. what you need to know about monday is back into the hudson river to resume their search for the two missing crew members. yesterday crews did recover the body of 62-year-old paul amon of bayville, new jersey. his daughter tells us the navy veteran was on vacation but got called back to work. 6s around 5:30 yesterday -- it was around 5:30 yesterday morning that the 90-foot tugboat that he was on crashed into a stationary construction barge at the tappan zee bridge. governor spoke about the incident yesterday and said the barge was illuminated at the time and it seemed to be just a tragic accident. the coast guard was searching the waters until about 9:00 last night and then forced to suspend the search because of dangerous waters. about the missing members of the crew, the safety of our officers is our main concern, not putting victims themselves. the water wants to drag them downstream at a pretty high rate of speed, which is not safe for us to continue to go below the surface of the water. >>. >> driver, an off duty police officer crashed into them and send that woman over the elevated side of the road. she's in the hospital and maloney is charged with dui. 28-year-old woman is waking up behind bars after a newborn baby was found dead on staten island. police say she walked into a hospital after giving birth at home on friday. authorities say they went to a richmond hill road home and >> no. >> that michelle has. >> there is no abilities. the victor? >> i'm the winner and i'm exhausted. i have to just fess up. >> we stink more than we normally do. >> they compliments the other team. >> well, i do love carolina. my wife worked at the moorehead planetarium. i think it's a great school. >> it's all good. >> much to my chagrin. >> our rivalry is rationale. >> except for when it's not. >> bottom line is if the roles were reversed, this one is a sore loser. >> yeah. >> bitter party of one, your table is ready. >> just do the weather, please. enough. 53 degrees is what we have outside now. it's mild. yesterday was beautiful. made it to 60. a lot of spots feeling the sun. we don't start off that way. the atmosphere is a little different. a few more clouds ahead of this stormy weather that's coming in for the start of the workweek. but the temperatures are still good. 53. you can get out and really enjoy this day. the clouds could thin in some spots, a little more sunshine than we're seeing now. mostly cloudy day, still about 60 degrees, well above average for this time of year. we've had this very nice stretch of spring like weather. what it means for you is maybe changes in your allergies. we'll talk about pollen counts before the hour is up. temperatures get this mild start and we go this afternoon for temperatures near 60 degrees. but i just went ahead and fast forward through the rest of today and i went right to monday. and i said let's look at the numbers. we stay in the 30s and 40s all day on monday. we're talking rainy, raw weather. temperatures 15 degrees colder than we've had just today, looking at the numbers, gusty even more uncomfortable. that's the start to the workweek. you're going to need your rain gear. temperatures rebound quickly. by tuesday we're back to near 60 degrees and we have a nice middle part of the week. we're playing catch up with the moisture and they'll be plenty of it to work with. the warm front is making its way across the midwest. temperatures in the upper 50s and low 60s for average for then we return to below average temperatures and just the 40s for tomorrow. timing of the rain is by 6 or 7:00, a sprinkle for south new jersey be ruled out. but tonight the rain becomes widespread. a lot of rain expected, periods of rain on and off, coming and going through the day. doesn't really quit until tuesday morning. we're going to have to put up with the showers and keep our temperatures limited in the mid-40s tomorrow. air quality is moderate, uv index at a 5. the trees, especially cedar, are the main concern here starting off. we're just a couple weetionz from weeks from more trees becoming a pollen. the accuweather seven-day forecast, we take these numbers right through the middle part of the week that looked really good. 58, 65 wednesday looks like the best day. temperatures stay mild thursday, friday, saturday, but back into the mid-50s, near 60 degrees. that will be the change coming in our direction. as far as i can tell, i think this afternoon is good, but i think wednesday is even better. sunny and 65. comparable to last wednesday's weather although we hit that record. i don't think we'll be in record territory. a record for this date would have to be 85 degrees back in 1990. >> well done. >> march can get wild around here. >> we like march madness. >> and we start out crazy. thank you, amy. coming up on eyewitness news on a sunday morning, you may be enjoying the spring preview, but we're going to tell you what a warm march might mean for all of us who han keep the hankies handy. this might be the most bizarre remix. guess who turns 75 years old today, spanish singer charo turns 75 years old today. >> she was my first interview ever in atlantic city. >> do you know what her big hit is?
