As for the statistics on subway crime, still troubling numbers. 367 serious subway crimes in the city this year. 311 during the same time last year. That is an increase of 18 . The mayor will say are still quite rare, the number of them, the number of them during this time period this year is up since the same time period last year. The victims Attorney Says this case serves as a warning to corrupt cops. Two people were injured after a fight inside of a brooklyn nightclub spilled out into the street. Animal control having to remove a deer from a middle school after it jumped through a twin doe. Carolina . Reporter the deer was animal control. Students. A local middle school is battling this unwanted visitor. Marcus solis has been posting pictures on a trap thats been set up in west middle school. He joins us live from the marcus . Reporter theres been a problem at the campus two years ago. The nearby construction brought rats into the building and its been all six until this week where there were two sightings one day during the worst possible time, during lunch. Its gross. Reporter gross is about the only word that will do. A rat in the cafeteria in West Lake Middle School tuesday during the schools second lunch period. Not so lucky was another rodent early in the morning which a custodian caught and dealt with earlier. I was coming up the elevator with my friend and we went into the cafeteria floor and saw the janitor whacking it with a broom. West Lake Middle School sits next to a wooded area. A few years ago there was a much more serious problem when nearby construction forced rats inside of the building. We want to provide a safe, sanitary environment for our children. That is our goal. Reporter the Health Department inspects the school on wednesday. No more signs of an infestation were found. Several traps were set up outside and inside the school. A rodent comes into a building pause they are looking for warmth, shelter, and a food source. What they were doing is covering up any food and make sure that no food is exposed and also plugging up any holes to the building they hope will solve the problem. The nypd is creating newly issued smartphones for the capturech a murder suspect. Transit police stot spotted a man with that sketch right there. Officers were familiar with the sketch because it was on their iphones. They approached the man and realized he was wanted for murder in november. The man is now being questioned. The cdc releasing new numbers on the zika virus in the United States. Officials say there are 14 new the virus through sexual transmission. Meanwhile, the cdc says nine pregnant women have the virus and all got it overseas. Ten additional reports are currently under investigation. A husband of Brittany Maynard is lobbying new York Lawmakers to approve a right to die bill. Maynard was the young woman from california who moved to oregon to legally end her life after she was diagnosed with a brain tumor and given six months to live. After 24 states introduced right to die bills, almost all of them mentioned maynard. The new york version would allow certified terminally ill people to request lifeending drugs from a physician. A tuberculosis scare sent a letter to West Hill High School families. It says a possible case of tb there is a low risk of transmission. A scare for a family in ohio. A man tried to pull a 10year old girl out of her bedroom window while she was sleeping.
