who escaped from jail last week. back tua was taken into custody this afternoon. that leaves two suspects still at large. the orange county sheriff's office posted video of duong being led into the department's headquarters. he's 43 years old, and was originally arrested for attempted murder. investigators say he turned himself in. >> approximately 25 minutes ago bach duong contacted a civilian on the streets of santa ana, and stated he wanted to turn himself in. >> duong along with the two other escapees broke out of the jail last friday using an elaborate plan that involved a teacher in the jail among those arrested for helping them escape. coming out of new jersey, we have just learned that the raccoon that mauled the young boy in elm wood park has tested positive for rabies. bergen county health officials released this flier warning residents to be wary of wild animals. the 6-year-old boy was walking to school with his mother on wednesday morning when the raccoon attacked him. look at that little face. a good samaritan who happened to be driving by jumped in and killed the raccoon. the boy has been released from the hospital. but again, the raccoon has tested positive for rabies. encouraging words about the growing zika virus. health officials say while the number of cases continue to rise, a major outbreak in this country unlikely. there are now 31 cases in eleven different states, including new york and new jersey. the virus has spread through central and south medical care, and today, bra -- south america, and today, brazil's olympics vowed we'll win the war against zika carrying mosquitoes. dr. richard besser is in brazil for us. >> reporter: when you look around rio, you don't see signs they're in the middle of a zika outbreak. when you talk to pregnant women, it's a different story. i talked to a woman yesterday who is very concerned about the chances that she could get a zika infection while she's pregnant. she's using lotion every two hours. she's using these plug-in repellant dispensers in her house, and citronella candles. she's very focused on this h. when zika was first found here back in october, she was already pregnant. she didn't have a choice as to whether she was going to get pregnant or postpone that pregnancy. she's due in june, and hopefully there will be no problems. in the north, they're doing more. they are spraying in the streets and going door to door to make sure that people's to reduce the chances of a zika infection. in new york, you know, this is something that's going to be seen there. there's a lot of travel between new york and parts of the country where there are zika virus infections, but the good news is mosquitoes are not active in new york city, so the risk of transmission is very very small. the mosquitoes plays the biggest role in terms of transmission of someone who's infected returns to the united states. a mosquito could bite them and spread it to other people. but there's no mosquitoes in new york city. you know, the one person who is pregnant and was infected with zika in new york city, that's more concerning. of course they're going to be monitoring her, monitoring the development of her baby, and when her baby is born, what they'll do is follow that baby. they'll do vision tests, hearing tests to see whether there's been any effect to that baby at all. eyewitness news in rio offender who is currently behind bars. spiro was last seen near indiana university in june of 2011 after a night out with friends. authorities in suffolk county say they have put a stop to a widespread robbery spree. four people are under arrest bank robberies. police say the suspects were involved in seven robberies beginning in late december and one attempted robbery last week. witnesses called 911 after the attempted robbery, and led police to one of the suspects. >> this is the great example of where information coming from someone at the scene led to the arrest of a perpetrator. >> well, the suspects face several robbery charges. police believe they were determined to continue the robbery spree. turning now to a developing story. hillary clinton in more hot water over her use of clavered e-mails. the news -- classified e-mails. the news coming days from the iowa caucuses. the obama administration declaring two dozen e-mails top secret. investigators looking into whether any of the information was classified when the e-mails were sent. abc news has learned 18 e-mails between then secretary of state clinton, and president obama will not be released. clinton is scheduled to speak later this hour. speaking of the iowa caucus,s the republican candidates zigzags across iowa heading into the final weekend for the all important caucuses. the candidates most notably, senator ted cruz are battling to overcome front runner donald trump, and trying to recover after several stumbles during last night's debate. abc's brandy hit is in iowa with the latest. >> reporter: it is crunch time here in iowa, and after several debates, these candidates are now out pounding the pavement, doing whatever they can to injury the final votes -- secure the final votes. for the rest of the country. liz. a big day for stocks on wall street, the dow jumped 400 points. u.s. stocks rose sharply after a surprise rate cut by japan. the dow finished up 396 points to close at 16466. four miners are safe after spending 36 days trapped underground in a collapsed mine a mine in east china's shadong province collapsed on christmas day leaving one killed and many missing. they rescued four survivors, below the surface. 11 other people made it to safety. >> 36 delays in that situation. we've got meteorologist amy freeze in for lee goldberg. she's outside, and liz and i were talking that we felt the temperature drop throughout the afternoon. >> it's cold. >> i know, not only is the temperature dropped off a few degrees, but also the winds have gotten a little stronger, i feel like, late this afternoon, and we're reading maybe 21 miles an hour gusts in the park. we could still have windy conditions throughout this evening, but the weekend is looking not only brighter but also quite warm in some areas. we'll start first with a check of the temperatures around the area. 40 degrees in central park. the skies kind of have this dark cloud lining the skyline, evening, 20 to 30 miles per hour winds can't be ruled out. most places are expected to become a little more mild late tonight into the early morning hours, but until about ten, 11, we could see these winds gusting out of the northwest, especially long island and new jersey, up to 30, 35 miles per hour. the last of the weak flurries flurries and light showers have moved to the east, and the next 7 hours we're expecting temperatures to drop below freezing in the city by 11:00 tonight. you can see the skies clearing out. the winds that have come out of the northwest still at this hour, gusting 20 to 25, 30 miles per hour for newark, and 31 miles per hour for jfk. those will swing out of the west and eventually the southwest. and that change will bring temperatures up pretty dramatically. sunny on saturday, with a chilly start. and we see the temperatures climbing a lot more mild by sunday, and what that means is the current places with snow still at about 10 to 15 inches i think that will help with anybody's car who's been encased in snow. we couldn't with the melt down and temperatures on sunday getting into the 40s will certainly help with that. this clear and cold pattern overnight will also allow the winds to diminish and the below freezing temperatures that we wake up tomorrow to will see the winds start to settle down. we go up to 38 degrees tomorrow, so still has a chilly feel to the atmosphere through saturday afternoon. it's really sunday that we get the warmth and temperatures climbing to the mid-40s. that sounds pretty good. saturday, 46, and then sunday, we see our temperatures, like i said, temperatures will be going into the 50s and next midweek, we're almost at 60 degrees. so that's going to be a real nice feel to it. all right, we'll close out this weekend, you guys, or this week with chilly temperatures, and look forward to the weekend. more melt down coming in the second half of the forecast in a few minutes. we'll talk timing of that potential warm up. that could get near 60 degrees. that would feel pretty good and what a change it would be. >> it would feel glorious. >> and the long-term patterns for the first couple of the three inmates who escaped from jail last week. duong turned to a man on the street saying he wanted to turn himself in. the other two escapees are still on the loose. and also new this half hour, a teacher from new jersey in court today on charges he sexually assaulted a young student. that student is just 10 years old. >> new jersey reporter toni yates is in patterson with the details. >> reporter: he's a 36-year-old gym teacher, edward clark, and his attorney says clark insists he did nothing to that child. sat at first with his face in his hands, awaiting his turn before the judge. patterson police investigated this complaint made by the family of that 10-year-old girl who attends school number 8 in the city of patterson. they determined there was enough cause to charge clark with aggravated criminal sexual contact with a child, and endangering the welfare of a child. clark was arrested two days ago. here's his appearance in court after his attorney ronald richie entered a plea of not guilty on clark's behalf. >> you are to have no contact and no unsupervised contact with children under the age of 18 years. and you also must surrender your passport and travel documents. do you understand that. >> reporter: clark is free on $75,000 bail. coming up at 6:00, we hear from his attorney. we also get reaction from the patterson school district. for now we're live in patterson, toni yates channel 7 eyewitness news. on long island, a behind bars accused of having sexual conduct with a teenage boy. 48-year-old kieran bunt was arrested thursday morning after police say they found him in a car with a 14-year-old boy in a parking lot. he is a level one sex offender. uber is cutting prices and yellow cabs in the city are not happy about it. the drivers new york taxi city workers alliance protested in long island city queens. uber is cutting rates by 15%. and traditional taxi drivers say they cannot compete with that. >> we call on uber to reinstate their fares, we call on the city council to legislate a minimum fare requirement across this industry. >> competition is good for riders, drivers, competition is good for everyone. the tax industry isn't quite used to that. >> we'll hear from uber and yellow cab drivers coming up on eyewitness news at five. as the standoff continues at a federal wildlife refuge in oregon, the fbi released new confrontation with one of the protesters. investigators say protester lavoy finicum did not surrender with other protesters, including the leaders on tuesday. they say he sat in his truck for nearly four minutes before speeding away. eventually a roadblock forced him off the road. when he got out of the truck, he appeared to be reaching for something. oregon state troopers opened fire and killed him. investigators say they found a loaded handgun in a jacket pocket. an interesting new theory about oj simpson now surfacing from the ground breaking doctor featured in the movie concussion. dr. bennett amalu is responsible for discovering cte in nfl players. the disease is the result of repeated blows to the head. and he believes simpson is a victim. the doctor says he can identify the telltale signs of cte's impulsive behavior to criminality. >> oj simpson was exposed to thousands of blows to his head. >> it's important to note that this world renowned forensic pathologist has not examined simpson personally, and cte can only be diagnosed after death. from the football field to the stage, the broadway spotlight is on eddie george. we're talking with the former running back prevent a bank robbery in north carolina. the bank manager was standing by the door when he happened to see a man dressed in black running across the parking lot. the man grabs the door, but the manager holds on. the man then fled. the bank employees had to push the alarm button. police arrived to find everyone safe but fundraise eled. a massive sinkhole in oregon. the video shows the ground opening up under a highway near the california border. and take a look at it from the sky. a drone flew over the scene yesterday. you can see just how large that sinkhole is as it causes problems for drivers you can see in both directions of the highway. officials say torrential rains may have caused the giant sinkhole to happen. surveillance cameras at a church were rolling just as a florida. the wiped whipped up furniture and debris. one man was outside struggling to get inside an open door. the storm knocked down trees and tore tiles from the church's roof nearby. in the end, very fortunate no one was hurt. last weekend's snowstorm resulted in big money in the form of parking tickets. parking agents wrote more than $1 million in tickets during the blizzard. here's the good news, the district is now saying it will forgive more than half of the 5000 tickets it handed out during the storm. as expensive as that storm is to fight, we got money back for paying for the tickets. >> which back. >> hopefully by then the snow will have melted. >> i think it's happening in a lot of spots. places where the cars are still encased. good news, warmer temperatures over the weekend. we have one day that's still pretty chilly. that's tomorrow, and then by sunday, they'll climb with the numbers once again going above average for this time of year. right now we've got 40 degrees. we're losing the daylight and a nice little patch of the sunset there on the left hand part of your screen. west winds gusting to 21 miles per hour in the park, and pressure is on the rise. high today was 42. i think we'll be colder tomorrow. we improve in time for the weekend. here on accu track, it has been blustery on and off. winds are picking up right now, we are seeing gusts up to 30 miles per hour in and around the burros, what's left of the showers and flurries is completely moving off . we isolated the radar and we can see the rest of the precipitation moving out and skies will cloud cover tom wind gusts, monticello, 32 miles per hour. and jfk and even newark, we have seen gusts up to 30 miles per hour within the last hour. we are watching this pretty carefully. overnight, the chill does remain. we wake up to it. then the wind start to lessen and pull back a bit. and that's going to make an improvement in the way things feel by saturday afternoon. these flurries, by the way, do exit as the winds do remain strong, and then by early tomorrow morning, those winds let up and we see improvements coming our way. once we get through the weekend, we'll actually see the wind helping to eat away the rest of the snow, and the temperatures going up as well. we can call it more melting here over the weekend, and right now looking at the current snow depth across our area, the real bull's eye where we have the top numbers, 10 to 15, central new jersey a foot of snow melted and the winds and temperature cooperate with that here over the weekend. we'll call it clear and cold tonight. these winds start to diminish you wake up to suck freezing temperatures across the area. sunrise tomorrow is at 7:09:00 a.m. it's still a chilly feel to the day. once the winds pull back, i think we'll see improvement. though 38 sounds cooler than today. it ends up feeling better, and sunday turns out to be a terrific day. we look at the accuweather 7- day forecast. we look at some of these days a little closer. certainly warmer on sunday with 46. then monday, it's mild with a midday shower possible at 50 degrees. that's actually not the warmest it will get all week. tuesday looks good, partly sunny a weak little front coming through that day, and if we extend into wednesday, high pressure takes over again, and this day, we could see temperatures pushing 60 degrees. 56 is what we're calling for right now. that's what the numbers support. if this pattern develops, we could be looking at 60 on the map somewhere in the middle of the week. this long-term trend that we have seen really for the past couple of days, getting our temperatures well above average february look to be holding on pretty good. thursday, a high of 40 degrees, and friday 42. the other thing is as we go into the middle part of the day on monday, this is when you could see the showers, so it's not a rainout all day, but certainly is a day where we could see the potential for showers. a reminder that
