the attack carried out by belgian born brothers by el bakraoui, and 27-year-old khalid el bakraoui. ibrahim detonated the explosives at the airport tuesday. moments later there was a second explosion. investigators believe the men were wearing gloves to conceal the detonators. younger brother khalid carried out the bombing at the subway station an hour later. police say a cab driver who gave the men a ride earlier led them to a location where a bomb making factory was found. with 33 pounds of explosives, nails, screws, and other bomb making materials. a note found in a trash can read, quote, in my haste i don't know what to do. if i sneeze, i risk ending up next to him in a cell. a manhunt for two other men raids resulting in one man being taken in to custody. mason wells, one of three mormon missionaries from utah injured, spoke to his parents by phone this morning. he's now survived three terror attacks, the marathon bombings in boston and was in paris. the president and vice president have pledged their support. >> anything we have that can be added to their fight, they will prevail. >> investigators say the brothers were known to police for past crimes but nothing related to terrorism. authorities are now looking in to whether they had any ties to the terror attacks in paris. although americans have been injured, at this point the white house says it's unaware of any americans who were killed in the brussels attacks but there are at least two people with ties to new york who are still missing. eyewitness news reporter lori glassberg with that part of our coverage. >> siblings were in the brussels airport at the time of the attack. they're from greece but both have ties to new york. sasha graduated and recently interned at sharas events in manhattan. telling eyewitness news she a great career and life ahead of her. sasha's brother, alexander, who also took classes at marymount, was with her at the airport. a woman identifying herself as alexander's girlfriend has taken to twitter saying my boyfriend missing. they were at the departure hall at the time. most of their family are in greece and the netherlands. we'll keep you posted as we learn any new information. authorities remain on attacks. in fact, the state department issued an alert for americans traveling to europe. eyewitness news reporter n.j. burkett is live at kennedy airport with the latest. >> outside the international arrivals building here at jfk where travelers are being warned to be extremely careful when traveling to europe. yes, the u.s. government made it official this morning. the warning coming amid stepped up security at major u.s. airports including jfk. i've noticed more security here than i did yesterday. travelers say they're grateful for that and are also grateful for the warning. others telling me despite the warning, they have no concerns about traveling to europe. let's be clear about this. it's not intended to discourage travel to europe. the government doesn't want to do that. they want to remind those avoid time in public places. thing to do. chuck schumer has continued to insist that americans here worried. >> there is no credible threat aimed at new york city or at the united states. the focus of isis up to now has been in europe. that doesn't mean they couldn't that doesn't mean we shouldn't be as careful as possible. and our u.s. authorities are increasing surveillance and monitoring of anyone who might be suspected of doing a terrorist act as a result of what happened in belgium. >> and back now, the live picture, you can see outside the international arrivals building. security agents have been extremely thorough about moving cars along, not allowing any vehicles to stop here for more than a minute or two at a time. i've seen some vehicles getting towed for staying here too long. they're being quite thorough about that. let's recap. department has issued a travel warning to europe. attacks overseas have prompted the new york city police department to deploy extra officers. there has been a massive show of force by the nypd in times square. more officers will also be at subway stations, airports and the streets. there has been no credible threat to the city. belgium officials are postponing the hearing of the suspect in the paris attacks as europe continues to deal with the bombing. salah abdeslam was captured yesterday. his hearing has been moved to tomorrow. the move made because of heightened security concerns. it took european authorities four months to track down the nypd has released these photos showing three men and a woman they'd like to question in the case. the 43-year-old gabay was caught in the crossfire of feuding gangs and later died from his injuries. anyone with information is asked to call crimestoppers. a deadly fire in queens claimed a third victim. we learned smoking was the cause of the fire. that's what investigators believe. two people died shortly after the fire. his name has not been released yet. but the two other victims have been identified as 53-year-old craig lot and 71-year-old martin devereaux. up in flames, a fire going to be getting. hopefully you don't have to travel too far to get some good cherry blossoms. it's kind of cloudy out there. kind of a thin veil of clouds as we look over toward lower manhattan at our camera. 60 degrees right now. even despite the cloud cover, the temperature has risen up to 60. that west wind coming in around 7 miles per hour. that's our high today already. we're 8 degrees above average. we're going to be going a whole lot higher than that. close to the 70-degree mark. got down to 12 way, way back in 1875. kind of a balmy breeze as highs sore in to the 60s especially from the metro area and points south and west. a big range of temperatures tomorrow. by that, i'm talking 40s over eastern long island to 70s well south and west of the city as you approach trenton and princeton, new jersey. that's because a backdoor cold front is going to be moving in from the east, moving in from the atlantic ocean and bringing that colder ocean air with it. showers show up late tomorrow night and last in to the morning hours friday. 63 right now in newark. 57 at white plains. thicker deck of clouds north of the city. 64, you're getting a little bit more sunshine at jfk airport. mid 60s on the island right now. the east end still stuck in cooler weather. 55, bridgeport, connecticut. that's because you've been partially getting a wind off the you can see on the wind streams it's switched more to a west southwest direction. i think as we go through the afternoon, especially from the city and points south, those temperatures are really going to be off to the races and we'll get many areas from the city south and west in to the upper 60s to near the 70-degree mark. big storm winding up. blizzard warnings in effect from some areas from southern minnesota to denver, colorado. we're obviously on the warm side of that system but that will be the same storm that causes showers by late tomorrow night in to friday. here's our futurecast for the afternoon. by 6 p.m., even in to the early part of the evening, until dinnertime, temperatures in the mid and upper 60s from the city and points south and west. there's the outside chance at getting a shower where you have that thicker cloud cover off to the north of the city and parts of the midhudson valley. we're back down to the 50-degree mark in the city and only recovering to 59. we have the backdoor cold front coming in from new england, ocean air. the farther south and west you head, the warmer you're going to be. still 66 by 3 p.m. tomorrow in trenton. it's a little bit cloudier with the ocean air as well as the moisture. accuweather forecast for the afternoon going like this. breezy, becoming warmer. high getting up to 69. but cooler right along the coast. partly cloudy tonight. we're down to about 50. heading in to tomorrow it's cooler. some sun out there. 59 in midtown. but 40s over eastern long island and 70s well south and west of new york city. we'll split the difference on the western suburbs and be in the lower to mid 60s. showers come in late tomorrow night, last in to friday morning. we clear out friday afternoon. 67. we've raised the temperature on friday with more temperature late in the day. bright but cooler on saturday. near 60. easter sunday, not looking too shabby. >> very happy bunny. >> 58 degrees with a mix of sun and clouds. i think rain waits till the stories that caught on camera that caught our attention. we'll begin with a bad idea. basically a molotov cocktail when the self-made bomb blew up prematurely. all three ended up getting consumed in flames. while they suffered some burns, none of the injuries fortunately are considered life-threatening. hopefully they all learned a lesson. police in texas say this pickup truck was stolen by two men. the chase ended violently when the truck slammed in to a car passing in front of it. one suspect was thrown from the truck which we're not showing at this time because of the violence. that didn't stop the other suspect was taking off on foot. he was eventually caught. it's one thing when a cat gets caught up a tree, and another when a man does. an 80-foot sequoia tree in seattle, washington. he refuses to come down. the man scaled the tree after 11:30 in the morning yesterday. he then began throwing apples, orange peels, pine cones, small he also shouted obscenities at onlookers. obviously has some mental issues. authorities still trying to coax the man down. prince harry is in nepal to visit the areas hardest hit by the devastating earthquake. he toured damaged houses, temples, and schools. the earthquake killed 9,000 people and destroyed nearly a million homes last april. today prince harry opened the nepal girls summit with support to end child marriages. her mom's life. hello again. i'm shirleen allicot. >> i'm david novarro. an outpouring of support for members of a historic church in new jersey that went up in flames. >> a fast moving fire tore through the first presbyterian church. michelle charlesworth is outside of the church. >> the past was pretty amazing but take a look at the damage. give you a live look at this. so many people have been pulling over their cars, just mouths open, in shock at what's left of the fixture here in englewood. people are heart broken over the fire destroying it in holy week. this fire starting around 8:00. the fire tore through the chapel, tore down hand-carved giant beautiful support beams that carried the weight of the slate covered roof. the flames also broke out the stained glass windows including one tiffany window. this church was built in 1870. the pastor tells me there was no fire damage to the bottom floor or the basement but those are now under several feet of water from fighting this fire. last week the pastor told jim dolan he was ready to worship in a parking lot if need be but turns out he will not have to. for the outpouring of support. we've had offers from churches, synagogues, civic organizations to use their space as we need. that's been tremendously gratifying. >> they've sought you out. >> yes. my phone has been ringing. they've been calling to step up and say what can we do? >> as we come back to a live picture of the damage here at the first presbyterian church, he points out it makes his sermon pretty easy to rewrite this sunday as all of this is about resurrection. he's certainly heartened by the fact that these other religious congregations have reached out to him all night and all morning. they will be somewhere this friday and easter sunday. the cause of the fire still under investigation. he tells me it started, quote, high up in the chapel so they're looking in to what might have caused this and the prosecutor's office is also involved in that investigation. michelle charlesworth, channel 7 eyewitness news. a deliveryman was attacked with a rubber mallet after a crash in downtown brooklyn. it's all caught on camera. watch as the attacker swings the mallet. this is some of the video police are using in their investigation. the victim, 23-year-old kevin tello, fought back by kicking frantically. his brother says this started over a minor car accident while tello was delivering groceries on sunday for fresh direct. he's now recovering in the hospital. >> he's doing better right now. he's still recovering. the doctors say he should be fine within six or so weeks. so we're hopeful with that. >> the victim suffered three fractured vertebrae. the suspect, 34-year-old damian bailey, faces charges including assault. a new jersey police chief is on administrative leave as he's investigated over claims he supports racial profiling. prosecutors say wyckoff police e-mail to his officers saying racial profiling has a place in policing. investigators say the e-mail which wa appears to be a violation of the attorney general's policy prohibiting racial profiling. now to the race for the white house. hillary clinton won the big delegate prize of arizona, but bernie sanders took both idaho and utah for the democrats. but the republican divide between donald trump and ted cruz is a little deeper. this as the rivals now find themselves in a feud over their wives. >> ted cruz just wrapped up a republican rally in new york city. it's a light day on the campaign trail, but that hasn't stopped the contenders in this 2016 race from going on the attack. >> reporter: the fight for delegates. >> i'm also very proud to have won arizona tonight. >> reporter: democrat hillary clinton and republican donald trump took home big wins in arizona. conference for the billionaire, just a tweet. much bigger win than anticipated in arizona. thank you. i will never forget. not to be out done, the victories. idaho and utah for sanders. cruz swept up all the delegates in utah. it took a back seat to the terror attacks in brussels. trump reignited his push to make torture legal to get information from the recently captured suspect in the paris attacks. >> he may be talking but he'll talk a lot faster with the torturing. >> what donald trump, ted cruz, and others are suggesting is not only wrong, it's dangerous. >> reporter: but the 2016 race took another bizarre turn when a pro cruz group used a near nude image in the attack. cruz responding by stealing a line from the movie, the >> she is way out of his league. if he wants to get in the character fight, he should stick with me. >> cruz picked up a key endorsement from jeb bush. the democrats will caucus and hold caucuses in the 60s, approaching 70 down the jersey shore. in and around the metro area if you're getting off the bus or going to after school activities, 69 for a high. that high temperature achieved around there's only one invokana . new at noon, surveillance video at a home capturing a 5-year-old texas girl's heroic act to save her mother. tracy underwald and her daughter allison were enjoying a swim in their backyard pool when suddenly mom had a seizure. she floated to the bottom of her pool unconscious. after a few minutes allison realized something was wrong. so the 5-year-old jumped in to the pool, diving down in the bottom and pulled her mom out in to the shallow end of the pool. she then ran inside the house to get her aunt. >> allison came running in and said something is wrong with mommy. allison immediately went and rescued her mom. it's a miracle she's alive. >> hands down i feel like she saved my life. >> this is why you teach children to swim. doctors say she would have died if she would have stayed one more minute longer. back to the terror attacks. one of the injured in the bombings has connections to other terror attacks. mason wells, a missionary from utah, was in the boston marathon bombing and in france with his father when terrorists attacked paris. >> mason, i'm going to catch a flight over to paris. >> do you think that would be a good idea? >> i'm just worried about your recovery. >> i don't feel like you need to come to europe. but i'm not going to stop you if you want to do that. >> where are the burns? >> on my head by my ear. >> but your eyes are okay? >> yeah, and my right hand is also kind of badly burned. >> it's a miracle he's alive. it's a blessing from god he's alive. he's grateful to have survived this. we're grateful he survived such a horrible thing. being there right at ground zero next to the attack, and to survive is nothing short of a huge miracle. >> despite his injuries, mason recovery. now an abc news exclusive. hulk hogan's first interview since winning a lawsuit against the website gawker. hogan sued gawker for invading his privacy by posting video of him having sex with a friend's wife. the 62-year-old former pro wrestler won $25 million in punitive damages and $115 million in compensatory damages. since gawker says it will appeal, hogan says he's not expecting to have the money any time soon. he says that was not the point. >> even if we would have lost, even if we would have lost it would have been good because everybody would have known what exposed them and what they do and how they look at the world, which to me is very, very scary. >> gawker may need to post tens of millions of dollars in bond while it does appeal the verdict. a man in ohio is accused of trying to use a child's toy to ship drugs. a shipping store worker thought it was odd when the man tried to ship a large teddy bear and nothing else. but it wasn't until she picked it up that she noticed the animal was stuffed with more than cotton. investigators found a bottle of liquid codeine inside the bear, the kind you can only get with a prescription. >> we have no idea where it came from. this bottle was not labeled for prescription. it wasn't issued by a doctor. it's not something that somebody took from their mother. >> police say the man was trying to ship the bear out of state but all the information he gave turned out to be phony. they're now warning law enforcement officials around the similarly suspicious packaging. let's talk cars. going to change the whole thing up. let's get the wheels rolling.
