Vertical entangled its exciting to know buyout Community Benefits program the program is leading the field in a new direction and very exciting because as a result utilities across the country with looking at to the program for to know how they i know expand their role or enhance the role in their own community but also instructive for researchers like myself and the audience that we hope to reach as we investigate and write about the work thank you. Thank you for your thoughts. Next speaker. Denny david. Good afternoon you commissioners my name is david im the director were a Community Center for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgenders weve had the pleasure of the last two years of being the greet for the Living Program and couple of things i want to share about the experience thats been unique weve done Workforce Development over 20 years but whats been stood out to our staff and the people that work with the puc has been the first level off appreciation our young people have for living in San Francisco their told repeatedly coming if the low Income Neighborhood and the bayview and Hunters Point a they leave the program as a nature investment feeling a sense of pride for their neighborhood the second the type of elapsing they have and the quality of learning and they have it because they have strong partners with the puc and strong assessing access to the facilities thats sparked dialog not only on the peers but also at the diner table what a Water Conservation look like those are conversation that have not happened before and the third thing the level of vision that our young people came away with therapy imposes is to careers and opportunities that can keep them here in San Francisco and serving San Francisco to keep ask a safe and beautiful investment and that stand in contrast to what theyve experienced that has friends and neighbors and families for the community those are beautiful outcomes and you want to encourage you to invest in the Community Process youre serving. Thank you. Next speaker. P f chrome. Good afternoon, commissioners im eco chrome a Business Owner in the bayview Hunters Point community and ive had the opportunity along with everyone else to look at the plan the Community Benefit strategy i want to say im really excited about it im excited about the broad range of priority you have the office of economic Workforce Development and the Youth Employment but im mr. Taylor excited about is the victim of crime development piece i know that learning it brings with the Program Programs such as the ssi p project which creates opportunities for dbi and local businesses to partner with the puc creating such opportunity by my estimation create the disposal income win the Community Like y cat see tare committed to hiring locally in tenor that creates that disposal income that ideally is used in the commercial corridor and did commercial district by any estimation it creates the opportunities for the average householder to send their graduating seniors to college away from home it creates opportunities for youth to go and get education and come back and put that to use within the resame community theyve grew up you think in thats what it is about im excited and appreciative of the pucs team and being really intentional and strategic about making the Community Investment i thank you guys it has any full support and hoping to move forward thank you.
