Katy Tur hosts coverage of national and international news, including breaking stories. Hmm, now heres what he just told fox news. Why do you feel its necessary to get on the record with things that havent been asked yet or that are not public yet . Whats coming . When i thought when i thought when i thought it was going to be published, i wanted to get out in front of it. As
Harris Faulkner
points out, no report exists right now. As of now there has been no reporting at all that
Michael Cohen
claims that there was another meeting. Now, it comes on the heels of a busy weekend for the president , at least on twitter. In a trio of tweets rife with questionable claims he called the
Investigation A
rigged witch hunt and an illegal scam. Quote, is
Robert Mueller
ever going to release his conflicts of interest with respect to
President Trump
, including the fact that we had a very nasty and contentious business relationship. I turned him down to head the fbi and comey is his close friend. So the big question we are asking today is, was there a strategy session before the
Trump Tower Meeting
to discuss russian to discuss
Russian Dirt On
Hillary Clinton
. Kristen welker is at the white house where that joint
Press Conference
is about to take place. Ken dilanian is an intelligence and
National Security
reporter. Jonathan verneer a
White House Reporter
for the
Associated Press
and
Danny Cevallos
is an nbc legal analyst. Kristen, what is
Rudy Giuliani
talking about . Before i get to that, a little bit of a scene setter here, which is that the u. S. Delegation is entering. Secretary of state mike pompeo,
National Security
advisor john bolton, who has referred to the russia probe as a witch hunt, as well as press secretary
Sarah Huckabee
sanders. So we do expect that
President Trump
and the italian
Prime Minister
will be close behind. In terms of what
Rudy Giuliani
is doing, we are seeing a couple of things. We are seeing giuliani and the president himself really ramp up their attacks against not only special counsel
Robert Mueller
, the president
Calling Mueller Out
by name over the weekend, but giuliani increasingly trying to undercut
Michael Cohen
, the president s former attorney and fixer, calling into question the validity of that tape, suggesting it could have been doctored. Of course, that tape in which we heard a conversation about between the president and cohen discussing a potential payout to karen mcdougal, and then, of course, you raised the point that he talked about a second planning meeting before the big meeting between don jr. And that kremlinlinked attorney. All of that at the forefront as we freep to ask the president a range of different questions now. This is going to be a
Traditional Press
conference, katy, its our understanding in which reporters from each country get two questions. No guarantee we will be called on, but here they are announcing the president. I am going to sit down. As kristen said, they are announcing the president. He will be emerging with the leader of italy. Here he is. Giuseppe conte. Let us listen. Thank you very much. Thank you. Im honored to welcome my new friend. We got along very well right from the beginning. Prime minister
Giuseppe Conte
to the white house. Mr. Prime minister, i want to begin by congratulating you once again on your tremendous victory in italy. It was something that all the world was watching. It excited the people all across italy. And i can tell you all across the
United States
, as well. Congratulations. In your election the italian nation has reaffirmed the great traditions of sovereignty, law, and accountability that stretch all the way back to ancient rome. This proud heritage sustains our civilization and must be always defended. Today,
Prime Minister
conte we were aplanned to announce a new
Strategic Dialogue
between italy and the
United States
that will enhance cooperation on a range of issues. This includes joint
Security Efforts
in the mediterranean where we recognize italys
Leadership Role
in the stabilization of libya and north africa. They have been terrific. Both the
Prime Minister
and i are focused on the urgent need to protect our nations from terrorism and uncontrolled migration. Our countries have learned through hard experience that
Border Security
is
National Security
. They are one and the same. Like the
United States
, italy is currently under enormous strain as a result of illegal immigration, and they fought it hard. And the
Prime Minister
, frankly, is with us today because of illegal immigration. Italy got tired of it. They didnt want it any longer. The people of italy have borne a great part of the burden forup through the course of the migration crisis. I applaud the
Prime Minister
for his bold leadership. Truly bold. And i hope more leaders will follow this example, including leaders in europe. The
Prime Minister
and i are united in our conviction that strong nations must have strong borders. We have a solemn obligation to protect our citizens and their quality of life. My administration is working hard to pass
Border Security
legislation, improve vetting, and establish a meritbased immigration system, which the
United States
needs very, very importantly, very badly. As far as the border is concerned and personally, it we dont get
Border Security
, after many, many years of talk within the
United States
, i would have no problem doing a shutdown. Its time we had proper
Border Security
. We are the laughing stock of the world. We have the worst
Immigration Laws
anywhere in the world. In our meeting today, the
Prime Minister
and i discussed ways to enhance our cooperation in the fight against terrorism. That also has to do with
Border Security
. I want to thank the italian people for italys contributions to
Counter Terrorism
and operations in the coalition to defeat isis where weve had a tremendous success, as you know, and in natos
Resolute Support
mission in afghanistan. The
Prime Minister
and i also agree that the brutal regime in iran must never be allowed to possess a nuclear weapon. Never. We encourage all nations to pressure iran to end the full range of its malign activities. The
United States
welcomes the partnership of italy in these vital efforts. Today we are also addressing the crucial issue of trade and commerce. We are working closely with our european partners, including italy, to ensure fair and reciprocal trade. A few days ago i met with president juncker of the
European Commission
. We had a great meeting. Following that meeting we announced a
Breakthrough Agreement
to remove
Trade Barriers
and increase the
United States
exports of agriculture, energy, and other goods and services to the
European Union
. Now is also the perfect time to expand commerce between the
United States
and italy. Americas booming
Economy Setting
records in so many categories creates enormous opportunities for investment. Likewise, i recommend investment in italy. Its a great place with great people. I look forward to working closely with the
Prime Minister
to open up new commercial opportunities that will reduce our
Trade Deficit
substantially and increase our mutual prosperity. Mr. Prime minister, we discussed our shared goal of combatting unfair
Foreign Trade
practices from nonmarket economies. Theyre brutal, but were winning. These abuses include subsidies, excess capacity, intellectual property theft, forced technology transfer,
Currency Devaluation
and distortion caused by stateopened enterprises. In this area, like so many others, cooperation between italy and the
United States
can make a tremendous difference not only for our countries, but all over the world, and its making a big difference and we are making a big difference. Tremendous difference on trade and on fairness. But we also have to be fair to the people of the
United States
and the taxpayers of the
United States
. Mr. Prime minister, thank you again for joining me for these important discussions. We are both outsiders to politics. Can you believe it . We are outsiders to politics. I look at all these wonderful politicians. And were both determined to protect the rights and needs and interests and dreams of our citizens, and we will do that. I look forward to partnering with you to building on the incredible friendship between our countries and to creating a
Brighter Future
for both the people of italy and the people of the
United States
. And with that i just want to again thank you very much for coming to the white house. It is my great honor. Thank you. Thank you,
President Trump
, for this kind invitation, for this warm hospitality. Only two months after the formation of my government. I take it as a sign of the special invitation to italy and to me as well. Forgive me, but i dont want to renounce the privilege for speaking in my wonderful language now. Translator before all i would like to remember with solidarity to all the families Katy Tur hosts coverage of national and international news, including breaking stories. This result. I am truly thankful to you, donald, for your support. Thirdly, in terms of immigration, i also described to
President Trump
the innovative approach that italy has put forth and the
European Union
now has a responsibility to not leave the weight of the management of immigration on the shoulders of the countries of first arrival like italy is. And, as you heard
President Trump
say, we appreciate that contribution which is provided by the
Italian Government
, which is providing fruit, good results. We are talking about an approach, a multilevel approach in order to try to resolve the phenomenon of immigration not because of an emergency, but because this is a structural approach. I want to underline this is in line with the position of
President Trump
, which goes from the respected dignity of people to make sure that fundamental rights are protected and it wants to make sure that these rights are trampled over because these people are in the hands of criminal bands. I also want to underline that the world day for the exchange of human beings is going to be celebrated. I also told
President Trump
that im very satisfied for the understanding that weve reached very recently between ourselves and the president of the
European Commission
juncker. I believe that this understanding is fundamental and that we have to work upon it immediately, bringing our efforts together to make sure that european, american, italian citizens receive the benefits of a more equitable trade relationship, which is completely reciprocal. And, once again, as far as russia is concerned, you know that italy is favorable to a dialogue with russia, but italy also considers that the dialogue between the
United States
and russia is fundamental so that we can have positive results in a more global perspective for stability and security purposes. In terms of energy security,
President Trump
and i also found ourselves in agreement with the need to make sure that there is a greater diversification for the sources of energy and to make sure that the roots, the energy roots are diversified as well. And, finally, i personally am sure that we can increase and improve the relationship with the
United States
at all levels, and in particular in space and aerospace fields. We already have a
Great Partnership
between the
Italian Space
agency and nasa. So we hope that aerospace will bring together american technology,
Italian Technology
so that we can launch new aircraft that cross the atmosphere and will be able to bring the
United States
and italy together in an hour and a half. This is a project that id like to speak in detail with the american administration. I thank you for your attention. Thank you. Daily caller. Thank you, mr. President. To follow up on what you were saying about the shutdown, sir, are you saying that you would be willing to shut the government down in september if it does not fully fund 25 billion worth of your border wall . To close it down to get it done. As you know, we are already approving things in various bills, including we are going to be taking care of the military. We always put the military and
Law Enforcement
very high. But i would be certainly willing to consider a shutdown if we dont get proper
Border Security
. Thank you. Please. Sir, just a follow up. Is the 25 billion a red line for you . I have no red line, unlike
President Obama
. I just want great
Border Security
. Reporter mr. Prime minister, here in the
United States
, amongst our commentary, there was a consensus that the president s appearance at the g7 and nato damaged our relationship with these intuitions. As a member of both those institutions, what is your assessment of the president s appearance at both . Translator both the g7 and nato we had a very
Fruitful Exchange
of views and opinions and of positions. I think that all the positions and stances which are expressed with clarity and provide a contribution also to review well established positions are more than welcome. There is a
Fruitful Exchange
. We had a
Fruitful Exchange
both at the g7 summit and at the nato summit in different frame works. We, for instance, in the framework of g7 summit, we agreed on the need for reforming the wto. The system of the wto. Its a year old system which considered china as an emerging country. You can understand that applying those same rules after years with granted to an emerging i think we were probably more closely aligned than anybody else in the room. But it was a great meeting. In every respect, i would say it was very good. Nato in particular, i went to nato and nato was essentially going out of business because people werent paying and it was going down, down, down. I came along last year and in a fairly nice tone i said youve got to pay. And they paid 44 billion more. And this year i said it in a little bit stronger tone. And theyre paying hundreds of billions of dollars more over the years. And nato will be strong again. And if you speak to
Secretary General
staltenberg, i think he is the biggest fan of trump because he said, we couldnt collect money until
President Trump
came along. And he said last year we collected 44 billion and this year the money is pouring in. But its like the
Prime Minister
said. We really talk talk about has strong support and advocator of the interests of the
American People
and the american country. Its a great negotiator. And im told someone wants to ask a question. The question must be asked. Reporter the

Italian Economy and what role do you think the eu should play in it . And president conte, do you think
President Trumps formula would work in italy as well . I can answer. The biggest thing italy needs is great leadership, and they have it right now. I honestly believe the
Prime Minister is going to do a tremendous job on
Economic Development. Nad in addition to borders, for
Economic Development, you need borders also. But you have a man who is going\rto do a terrific job. I have no doubt about it at all he knows how to sell. He knows how to promote a great product. They make among the greatest products. I wont mention their names, but they are great. I have some of them. Itsly makes great products. I think its going to do very well economically and were there to help. We have had record numbers. I have been here for a little more than a year and a half. We have had record numbers. We have had numbers that nobody believed possible, especially if you look at one particular fact that was not reported very much. Trade deficit. 52 billion reduction in the
Trade Deficit for the quarter. And i think probably
Steven Mnuchin is here, mike pompeo, i think nobody would have thought that would be possible so quickly. 52 billion reduction in the
Trade Deficit for the quarter. I think that italy is going to be able to do the same thing. Slightly different numbers. Reporter what role should the
European Union play in the matter, sir, and the what . Reporter what role do you think the
European Union should play in the
Reignition Of thats up to them. I dont want to get involved in that. Jeanclaude and i had a fantastic meeting last week. We were having a hard time. I mentioned tariffs on cars. We got along very well. Very well. I think they are going to treat us very fairly and we are going to treat them fairly. As you know, its been a oneway street. The
European Union has totally taken advantage. United states. We cant let that happen. Not fair to the
United States. By the way, italy has a 31 billion surplus with the
United States meaning we have a 31 billion
Trade Deficit with italy, and we discussed that and well work something out. We are going to work something out. Okay. Thank you. Translator as far as im\rconcerned, im very envious, very envious of the records and the
Growth Figures of the american economy. We discussed that before with donald. Somehow these are systems which cannot be compared because their magnitudes, orders of magnitudes which are very different. At the same time, envious and ambitious at the same time. As a government leader, ambition for my economy to do a lot, much more than what was done in the past. We are preparing
Structure Reforms which we will be submitting to the attention of our european partners, too. I do not want the tax reform to be set aside. It was a leverage in this country for economic growth. Its well constructed. It represents a he leverage for economic growth. Working also on streamlining and\rsimplifying red tape, administration, regulations. We are trying to eliminate corruption pockets. We are trying to speed up the civil trials, the procedures, the proceedings in all sectors together with the
Citizenship Income which will support those people who lose their job to find a new one. These are all the reforms that we consider to be a positive element to represent an economic leverage for our country which can then try and reach the growth. One of the biggest things that we have done, obviously the massive tax cuts, but maybe equal to would be the tremendous cuts in regulation. I know italy well, and they have a lot of regulation. I have no doubt that the
Prime Minister, giuseppe, will be working very hard on that. But i think, giuseppe, i can say from our standpoint, one of the most important things we did was cutting massively these horrible\rregulations. I believe so strongly in the environment. I want the cleanest air, the cleanest water, the cleanest everything, the best everything, but you had ten regulations for every point in some cases. It was ridiculous. It would take many years to get a highway or a road approved. We have that way down. We have it down to two years. It will hopefully be down to one. It may get rejected, but at least its going to go quickly. So we want regulation, but its got to be cut to a minimum and do the trick. And i think that italy will follow suit. I know they have looked at it very strongly and they are going to follow suit. Thank you. Thank you very much. Roberta rampton of reuters, please. Hello. Reporter thank you, mr. President. You spoke a bit about iran today and your discussions and im wondering if you could tell us as you think iran needs to do to reduce some of the tensions. And you have met with the\rleaders of north korea and russia. Are you prepared also, are you willing to meet with president rouhani, and under what conditions . Have there been any preliminary discussions about
Something Like that . I will meet with anybody. I believe in meeting. The
Prime Minister said it better than anybody can say it. Speaking to other people, especially when you are talking about potentials of war and death and famine and lots of other things. You meet. There is nothing wrong with meeting. We met, as you know, with chairman kim. You havent had a missile fired off in nine months. We got our prisoners back. So many things have happened so positive. But meeting with people. I had a great meeting, in my opinion, of course. The fake news didnt cover it that way, but i had a great meeting with
President Putin of russia. I think it was a great meeting. In terms of the future, in terms of safety and
Economic Development and protecting israel and protecting everybody,\ri thought it was a great meeting. Great meeting with nato. I just eksz pland nato. Hundreds of billions of dollars more money will be paid into nato, the coffers of nato. And much already has so. So i believe in meeting. I would meet with iran if they wanted to meet. I dont know if they are ready yet. They are having a hard time right now. But i ended the iran deal. It was a ridiculous deal. I do believe that they will probably end up wanting to meet and i am ready to meet any time they want to. I dont do that from strength or weakness. I think its an appropriate thing to do. If we could work something out, thats meaningful, not the waste of paper that the other deal was, i would certainly be willing to meet. Reporter do you have preconditions for that meeting . No. They want to meet, ill meet any time they want. Any time they want. Its good for the country, good for them, good for us, and good for the world. No preconditions. If they want to meet, ill meet. Reporter
Prime Minister, i wanted to ask if you and the president you talked about the need to stabilize libya. I wanted to ask if you and the president discussed working together on
Energy Production in libya in some way. Did you discuss
Oil Production in libya . Do you see a a way for the
United States to become involved there perhaps with italys help . Translator we discussed the problem of stabilizing libya. Obviously, of the security to be guaranteed for the whole of the iranian era. You see, its not only a problem of the
Migration Roots. Many of the
Migration Roots from african countries concentrate this the libyan area. Its also a problem of security in general because, for instance, through the migration\rroutes foreign fighters might reach the european territory who could carry the terrorist threat. We didnt discuss in details the problems. Certainly it is our intention to respect the libyan population. We are not driven by economic interests. We are not driven by the problem of
Energy Supply. Our interest and from this
Point Of View i can announce, but i already said, that we are going to organize an agreement with
President Trump. Im going to organize a conference on libya. We would like to deal and discuss all of the issues relating to the libyan people involving all of the stakeholders, actors, protagonists in the whole of the mediterranean. We are going to discuss economic aspects, but also social aspects, protection of civil\rrights, the problem of constitutional process, of issuing and passing laws to enable libya, in particular, to get to democratic elections in the conditions of utmost stability. Im told that someone else wants to ask a question. Thank you. I have a question to
Prime Minister conte and then a question to
President Trump. Reporter there are three pending issues on the table with the american administration. One of them is sanctions to russia. Since italy, the two main
Government Parties in italy said they want to lift the sanctions on russia. Whats the official position by the government . It seems the american positions is asking for the sanctions to be kept. The other points are the gas pipeline, the
American Department to continue with the work, there are some ambiguous positions in italy related to this project, and the f35 program. What is italy going to do . Will italy confirm the program . Thank you. Translator i am going to answer in relation to sanctions on russia. I am going to repeat what i said before because i have already taken a stance in all of the international summits. This con
First Responders the position of the
Italian Government is not changing in this respect. We are open to dialogue with russia. We do believe that russia plays a fundamental role in all
International Geopolitical crises. So thinking that russia can be kept out of a dialogue, as
President Trump said, if we want to solve problems, we cannot\rchoose the counterparts to deal with. We must accept a seat at the table and negotiate and have dialogue with those who are in reality our counterparts. As far as the
Sanction System Seskically is concerned, i am well aware that the system stemming from tminsk agreements and the implementation of the minsk agreements. It is clear that it is unthinkable today to lift overnight those sanctions. However, exactly because we are open to dialogue with russia, the position of my government has been stated straightaway is to make sure that the system of sanctions doesnt affect the civic society, doesnt affect the economy of the enterprises in russia. Itsly, from this
Point Of View,\rhas intense economic relations with russia in this respect. So in order to stress once again with a final statement, sanctions against russia are not and cannot represent an end. Second issue. Transatlantic pipeline. I discussed this with
President Trump, and i reported to him that my government is well aware of the fact that this is strategic work in terms of
Energy Supply to italy and to the south of europe in the mediterranean area. We are perfectly aware of the fact that this can provide a contribution also in the renewal of the
Energy System and the elimination of coal, which is part of our program. At the same time i correctly informed
President Trump that there are some uncertainties by local communities, the\rcommunities where the pipeline will land. Since problems must be faced directly and not trying to avoid them, once back to italy, as soon as possible i will discuss the issue with the competent ministers and i will go and meet the local mayors, the local communiti communities trying to find a solution which will take into account the concerns of local communities. As far as the third point is concerned, f35, as you know, it is a program which was decided in 2002 that the agreements were signed in 2002. So its a bit of time in terms of talking about needs for the fence and security. As a government we are responsibly evaluating this file, as you know. There is already a process of\rorders being issued, which has taken place, and these orders are issued much earlier because the work is really complex. So we will continue to follow this file and well make all the necessary choices in a very cautious way in view of the needs of the defense and security being fully transparent with our partner, the trump administration. Thank you very much. Sanctions on russia will remain as is. As far as a pipeline is concerned, i would like to see a competing pipeline. So, mr. Prime minister, i hope you will be able to do that competing pipeline. And we are already talking to the
European Union about building anywhere from nine to 11 ports, which they will pay for, so that we can ship our lng over to various parts of europe. And that will be more competition. But the sanctions on russia will remain as is. Okay. Thank you very much, everybody. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Donald trump and the leader of italy ending that joint
Press Conference. A bit of news there. Number one, donald trump saying he would be willing to shut down the government, but the 25 billion for the wall is not a red line. He says he doesnt have red lines. The other big news is he said, yes, i would be willing to meet with iranian president rouhani. He said he would be willing to meet with anybody without any preconditions. At the moment, there is no meeting scheduled. But the president said he would be willing to do so. Lets bring in david, a visiting scholar at the
Carnegie Endowment for
International Peace and joel ruben, a former
Deputy Assistant
Secretary Of State. When barack obama said he would be willing to meet with rouhani\rwithout condition, he got slammed in the debate in 2007. Clinton even slammed him for it. It goes without saying that donald trump is doing things that republicans would have been horrified at if it was a democratic president. Certainly, katy. And its a bit of a boomerang on iran policy because just last week we saw the
Secretary Of State give a speech where he attacked the iranian government and expressed that through calling for support for human rights in iran, but really attacking the government. We have seen speeches in washington to that effect regarding the nuclear agreement, which again
President Trump ripped up. But, yes, if
President Trump wants to meet with the iranian leadership unconditionally without any preconditions, perhaps up in september at the
United Nations general assembly, he can do so, if not beforehand, and hash out the differences. That would have been toxic for
President Obama, largely with the
Republican Opposition to his iran policies. Its a bit ironic that now this president is willing to go for\rit potentially and it would be get to see if republicans line up in support of such an engagement. The other interesting thing, and i was googling as the president was speaking, back in 2013 when
President Obama had a phone call with rouhani, john boehner, spokesman, said this on behalf of john boehner. Obama negotiates with iran, putin, but not with congress. Interesting thats a statement, especially in this news conference, where we saw the president saying he is willing to shut down the government. It feels a bit like deja vu. David . Well, it does. I think, you know, there are some people right now in the white house who are freaking out because bolton, for example, would be somebody who wouldnt want to have a discussion, a sitdown with iran right now. But i think were quickly going to come to the conclusion that no one is ever going to go broke betting against the president s confidence in himself. He thinks he can sit down with\ranybody, persuade anybody of anything. I think its a bit of a defensive measure. He got a lot of criticism for sitting down with putin. If he is going to sit down with putin with no preconditions, he has to be able to sit down with anybody else with no preconditions. Of course, the putin summit and the kim jongun summit, which were established with very few preconditions, also delivered very little to the
United States. And so i think another thing to be weary of here, even though meetings on their face is no problem, is that this president has a lousy track record for these oneonone summits. A fact check. The president when he came out congratulated the leader of italy multiple times on his great election. He wasnt elect the. Its a
Coalition Government formed in italy between the antiestablishment five
Star Movement and the far right conservative movement, the league. They named conte as their\rleader. He was not elected. Also, the president s hailing a policy in italy that has promised to evict, essentially, 500,000 immigrants, get them out of italy, and a
Policy Turning away boats full of rescued immigrants from italian shores. It sounds like what deaths ret
Donald Trumps rhetoric in the states . Yes. There is another factual issue that was interesting as well, which is that he called on the nato countries to contribute for defense, but italy has only put in 1. 3 of its gdp. He didnt seem that upset about it here. So has he found his partner . His whisperer, so to speak, in europe in these g7 meetings and with the eu . He may have, up to a point. Again, italy is a european nation. Clearly,
Prime Minister conte, seemed to be very technocrat i\rcan in his legitimate. I wouldnt, if i were trump, count on italy completely being in his pocket either. It doesnt sound like conte wants to go totally in that direction. The more far right leader mr. Foreign minister salveny. Thank you. The president did not get a question about
Rudy Giulianis claims that
Michael Cohen told reporters about an unreported
Strategy Meetings three days before a
Meeting Offering Dirt on
Hillary Clinton. Here is what
Rudy Giuliani told cnn. And this meeting that cohen is talking about took place before the meeting with the russian but the other thing thats extcontradicted is cohenw says, because he says too much, that two days before he was participating in a meeting with roughly the same group of people, but not the president. Definitely not the president. They were talking about the\rstrategy of the meeting with the russians. The people in that meeting deny it. Here is what
Rudy Giuliani told fox news to try to clarify that just a few hours later. Why do you feel its necessary to get on the record with things that havent been asked yet . Or that are not public yet . Whats come sng. Well, when i thought it was going to be published, i wanted to get out in front of it. Again, it is 2 48. We have not seen a report that alleges that cohen is talking about another
Strategy Meeting in trump tower before the meeting with the russian lawyer, and back with me is
Msnbc Ken Dilanian and danny secevalos. We have donald trump making two calls to a blocked number. One call after an hour after he had a phone call talking about\rpresumably this russian lawyer
Trump Tower Meeting. Thats important because donald trump has a blocked phone number. Thats june 6. June 7 donald trump announces a major speech on
Hillary Clinton. Reminder. This whole meeting is set up because this russian lawyer is
Offering Dirt on
Hillary Clinton. June 9th don jr. And
Paul Manafort and
Jared Kushner meet with
Natalia Veselnitskaya and six others and junior 9th donald trump jr. Makes a call to a blocked number two hours after the
Trump Tower Meeting. Ken dilanian, if this meeting exists, this other new meeting that
Michael Cohen might be alleging, according to
Rudy Giuliani, but we havent yet seen, it would come where in that timeline . Well, we are not sure, katy. We have to take it with a giant grain of salt. This is
Rudy Giuliani channeling what he has been told by reporters who have not yet published the story. We dont know whether
Michael Cohen is alleging this. His lawyer, lanny davis, has\rdesigned to comment. Heres what i can tell you. Many of the participants in this meeting have testified to congress, both the
Senate Intelligence committee and the
Senate Judiciary committee. None of them ever brought up a sort of prestrategy congress. None of them ever brought up a sort of
Prestrategy Meeting. So if this did happen, it would be very significant, in part because they could be lying to congress. Secondly, it would show that this meeting may have been more important than they were letting on. They portray third down meeting at a seat of the pants nothingburger meting that result in the very little. Don junior told congress that manafort and kushner didnt know the subject of the meeting. If there have a
Prestrategy Meeting that would bring a lie to all these statements. Lets ask an attorney about this. Why would
Rudy Giuliani want to get out in front of a stories that not yet published an a\rstory that he completely denies. A story that has not published, even though
Rudy Giuliani has gone on the record to it twice. He may be adhering to the old
Trial Strategy that if theres damaging information about your client, get it out so that the crossexamination doesnt detonate later in the trial. If you create an issue out of whole cloth that simply wasnt there before. Its curious that
Rudy Giuliani could take this approach. You know what it a minds me of is
Rudy Giuliani talking to sean hannity about the
Stormy Daniels payment. Seems like theres so much going on that
Rudy Giuliani might have a hard time keeping things straight. Is that unfair . Giuliani has proven himself an unreliable narrater on things\rthat happened to donald trump. He talked to sean thantive. He said that about the
Stormy Daniels payment. Then tried to pied to pedal it. We are seeing that. This is something we got wrong, he read something wrong, or this is significant. A story is about to drop and he is trying, unsuccessfully, to get out ahead of it. This raises the question about the significant of that meeting and what it could mean or it speaks to how effective a spokesperson
Rudy Giuliani is being for the president. Its an interesting issue because it violates an old
Defense Attorney rule, which is after their first or second meeting with your client, dont be married to their facts. Defense attorneys will tell you, clients burn you all the time. They give you the version of the facts thats most favorable to them. Its not lying. Its selfpreservation. Rudy would be better served by making sure he knew every fact before he goes out there. Lets go sam number. You said you dont believe the president knew about the
Trump Tower Meeting. That goes against what you had been saying in the past, which is you believe don junior would have told the president. Under normal circumstances and now that michael is trying to claim the president did know, if its between the the and the don junior, the fact of the matter is the email goldstein said was not sent to don juniors assistant which would be strange i would go with them. Why would don junior not bring this to the president . Because he doesnt know what\rits going to deliver. Its more important lets get one fact out here about the meeting. Natalia comes in. We dont know how she got into the country. Possibly from the
Obama Administration immigration. She comes in
Offering Dirt on
Hillary Clinton. What did she do according to the report . According to what they are saying, but we dont know what was said. What we have hard evidence of is an email saying that she had dirt on
Hillary Clinton. It is still unclear if she discussed dirt on
Hillary Clinton. There is no concrete evidence that says she did not. There is no concrete evidence that says all she discussed was the
Magnitsky Act. All we have is the word of the president. They have not been honest. The third version is what we\rgot. We also got, the president didnt have anything to do with it and then they said the president dictated it. The statement. I have no idea what happened in that meeting. I wasnt there. But what i would say is she has worked on the
Magnitsky Act. Fusion gps. She was trying to get dirt on mr. Crowder. Where do we stand today . The
Magnitsky Act is still on why are we talking about the
Magnitsky Act. Im trying to find out sk it goes to the issue of collusion. The russians have gotten nothing from donald trump. Vladimir putin wants donald trump to win the election. I believe that. Donald trump called to you for those emails, which were never released. Vladimir putin hasnt gotten anything. In the indictment. The mueller indictment that came out last friday, there was a\rline that said specifically for the first time interesting phrase to use. For the first time the russian actors tried to hack into the
Hillary Clintons servers. Specifically after the close of business. On july 26th, which is the day donald trump said, russia, if youre listening release those emails. I would also like to point out the idea that its premature. They got the summit in helsinki two weeks ago. We dont know what was brokered in the meeting. We got to go unfortunately, but at the
Republican National convention, we not we, the
Republican Party decided not to but ukraine they are on the picture. But you could argue i dont know. Well see. Whats. Thank you for joining us. We will be right back. I think hd some support. Yes start them off right. With the
