Lets just say, im not sure she slept at all last night she was so excited. Take a listen. And when you found out that you have won the gold, can you even describe what went through your mind . No, i really cant. Its so overwhelming and for me to be able to stand on the podium obviously hear a nations anthem and be red white and blue it instills a sense of pride. And then theres brady, jake and zach. These guys are archers. In the olympics or the United States where membership in archery is 366 and they took silver from an absolutely perfect if they decide they dont want to be archery anymore. They could do stand up. Donald trump touched down in New Hampshire where the latest poll was trailing Hillary Clinton by 17 points. And she quote short circuited when asked recently about a private email server. It amazes me actually. I dont think she is all there. When i watched that interview, when i watched the interview that she did on fox, i said, boy, this is going to be a massive, massive scandal and Nothing Happened and then three days later it was a delay. If i ever did that interview, they would have me terminate my run. Im telling you. Thats how bad this thing was. But clintons short circuit moment doesnt seem to have hurt her. The former secretary of state and their running mate tim kaine widened their lead to 8 points nationally and the green party formally nominated its candidate at the Convention Last night in houston. In her acceptance speech she took a moment to thank another outside candidate to say this. Lives on the outside of the democratic party. We owe you such a debt of gratitude for getting the revolution going and refusing to be shutdown. Its so exciting to run with you and for you. Up next on the campaign schedule, Hillary Clinton heads to florida for several events and he is shated to deliver a speech on his economic plan. Is that donald doing the whole donald thing . No its strategic. Theyre saying go after Hillary Clinton. Stop talking about the gold star families and doing things distracting from your main message which is taking aim at clinton and why is that . Look at her favor blt ratings and where she has struggled. The Trump Campaign sees an opening if they can continue to go after clinton. Now they want to see donald trump focus on the economic numbers that have come out to if he cuss on the more substantive issues with clinton. He is taking aim as you just played that short circuited answer. She took a short circuit in the brain and has got problems. If we had real people this would be a real problem for her. I think that the people of this country dont want somebody thats going to short circuit up here. Not as your president. So its still not clear whether it will hurt them in future polling and havent been out in the field since they made the comments on friday in the forum but you can bet that trump and his campaign will continue to go after her and they have this web video out already. Should be noted the tone by which trump is going after her. Hes calling her a monster and a devil. And even though this may resinate with his base of support, the question is whether he can grow the pie. Whether people that are are undecided or are on the fence will respond to. And given the polls now and we see that more with Hillary Clinton. How concerned are they about that. We have our own internal polling showing that its closer and b talking about its august. Three months tomorrow until election day as were all counting down but there is some tile before people they believe start really paying attention. You the olympics and people on vacation getting ready for school and folks outside the campaign say he has a little bit of a window to try to make the turn even though we keep talking about a pivot donald trump has shown how he will be and how he will act. The other point is one with you look at the new polling and specifically when you talk about who will be best for National Security and make this country safe you can see the New Hampshire poll there and struggling and in the New Washington post poll this morning she is leading him by three points when it comes to who do you think will make this country safe. Why are you talking about it . Donald trump has been running on that message since the beginning. If she is, in fact, gaining on him when it comes to the idea of safety and security thats going to raise some eyebrows inside trump world. Its great to have you, thank you. I want to bring in molly hooper and at a time and as we were talking about with these new numbers and specifically with this poll you have Hillary Clintons lead to 8 points. And post convention here is that the belt were seeing from that or is there much more to it. That is the balance from the democratic poll but keep in mind that donald trump had a rough, rough, rough week and its interesting that he said last night in New Hampshire how the republicans would have fired him if he made a similar comment to the one that hilary made on Fox News Sunday given that he did motte capitalize on the remarks, he fuelled his own controversy with the kahn family and that goes to the point where its like the republicans are going to fire him for going after Hillary Clinton for making that gap and we havent seen the polls since Hillary Clinton fuelled her own fire orphaned the fire yesterday when he made the comment about short circuiting in that interview with Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace and i think that, you know, in a few weeks well see polls even out a little bit and where the candidates are in terms of getting back computer on message and on track. Do you think thats the case . Do you see it evening out or this is the case of another missed opportunity for donald trump not to go after Hillary Clinton. Is this the turning point but other people are saying this is right and now its reflected in the polls as well. I think what you have seen to some degree democrats tell me they found the special sauce in being able to get underneath Donald Trumps skin so theyre going to try to get him as off message as they can with things like the kahns bringing up issues or people to attack him because he can never leave an attack unanswered. Even if he is supposed to be focussing on Hillary Clinton and the economy or job numbers or other things he just cannot let it go so the dem rattic strategy from here until election day is going to be okay were going to bring in all of these people that are essentially going to attack donald trump and talk about how unfit he is or all the problems and issues with all of his statements he said, people that are unimpeachable and theyre going to sit back and watch as he spends the next four days each time attacking those people and defending himself instead of talking what he should be talking about which is attacking Hillary Clinton and ro looking at policy and job numbers. When it comes to all of these threats and the missed opportunity when were referring to a New York Times article it calls donald trump the best thing that happened to the democrats. Do you agree with that. If you look at the recent polling Hillary Clinton is up. We can attribute that to the Democratic Convention bounce. We can attribute it again to the gaps that trump is making on the trail but at the same time look at the numbers consistent and both candidates consistently are seen as untrustworthy and when you have 60 ratings as being not trustworthy or honest it could go either way. I talked to one democratic congressman recently that said donald trump is the republican nominee so that means either i could be, you know, were done, and or i can be a Committee Chairman next year and this say democratic member of the house so its, you know, up in the air. Up in the air and considering the third party. She accepted her candidates nomination last night and as far as politico goes could be a real threat with this article. Today several polls show substantial leads and those numbers prove to be more than just a federal post convention bounce by november. Soft clinton supporters on the left may feel liberated especially in the deep red and blue states. So do you agree with that assessment . And how does she hang on to her voters as well by reeling in the others as well . Well, third Party Candidacies are a problem on both sides of the aisle right now. You also have gary johnson running for the libertarian ticket and has this Campaign Based out of utah. And because donald trump is so unpopular with mormons in utah that he has a good shot atsawining that state. Jill stein draws a lot of support from Hillary Clinton and thanks to the bernie revolution still on going where theres a lot of disgruntled democrats on the left that dont like Hillary Clinton and dont want to vote for her. She isnt very much an environmental candidate and it is the green party and thats not an issue that hugely resounds in particular states like the southern states. I havent seen a lot of Environmental Concerns or support particularly in a lot of the deep red states so well see where the polling comes from. If she just draws from deep blue states that doesnt make a difference or where it does make a difference is in purple states the most. Thank you for being with me this sunday morning. Of course. And as theyre out there given what donald trump said and all the controversy that follows it in the past week that secretary clinton isnt leading by more than what were seeing in the numbers now. I think she had a very good convention. She had a very good week after the convention and donald trump had a terrible week. What youre also seeing is i know that pundits and pollsters, take a look at what politicians are doing. Republican politicians and theyre starting to separate themselves in donald trump and appeals to house and senate donors give money to keep the congress because trump may sink us. Thats a prevailing attitude that seems to be emerging so this race is not over and we have three months to go but youre seeing politicians that are the most realistic and are polling daily, theyre seeing that the trump misqueues can drag them down and republicans dont want to lose the house and the senate. You mention everything in a drop and a bucket that Hillary Clinton is spending. Especially in ads. You have to look at the battleground states. The popular vote is important but the states like new mexico, nevada, colorado, a large hispanic population in florida and then you go into the midwest. Ohio, pennsylvania, and you go into wisconsin. I see the lead of Hillary Clinton increasing and those are going to decide the Electoral College and were three months away but the way trump is out of control in terms of this message taking on the gold star mothers, not endorsing paul ryan and leaders of his own party, this is a race and it doesnt point to finding ways that trump can get to the 270 votes they win. Speaking to that and the new poll from the southwest. And it shows these numbers here. 45 for Hillary Clinton. Donald trump at 43 . Statistical dead heat in arizona. Its been a red state since 1996. If she is ahead in a state like that, what does that say . Well, like you take arizona. This is traditionally been a republican state and now its going a little bit toward Hillary Clinton. 25 latino and building a wall and i think youre seeing that all over the southwest in these small states that are not getting the attention they deserve like arizona, colorado, nevada, new mexico, that high latino populations and that is closing off to donald trump very quickly. You also voiced your disappointment in not choosing a running mate. Heres what they said when being asked about black and latino journalists. Heres what she said. Does it take latino voters seriously or that they would automatically vote democrat. I take them seriously because i had the great privilege of working for many years with latino leaders, activists, business men and women. I dont take any voter for granted and i particularly dont take any voter that was placing their trust and confidence in me for granted. So when it comes to those latino voters im with her enthusiastically or will it be more im antitrump and shes the other option. I think it will be enthusiastic to clinton and its an antitrump view and i think tim kaine is a very good choice. You have to go with votes that you get and very much is in play. Hes an attractive candidate. I think her positions on education and carries most about education and not just immigration but its the key immigrations and comprehensive immigration reform. And deal with the Central American refugees in a more sensib
