one block away from the spot where police say a taxi driver was shot 13 times and according to investigators the 56-year-old veteran driver with the philadelphia taxi cab company refused to a ride to an individual who was acting suspicious that exchange took place at 42 and ogden street. a block away from the scene of the crime. and moments later around 2 a.m. police received multiple calls including cheryl's notifying them of shots fired. >> it's a lot ever shooting around here all the time. all the time. >> and police are being ing for a black vehicle seen leaving that area at the time anyone with any information should contact police. reporting live in west philadelphia, alexandria hof, cbs3, eyewitness news. >> alex, thank you have much. police are now investigating three separate shootings in west philly. the first shooting happened at 12:40 this morning in the 200 block of north 52 treat stree street. police rushed the 16-year-old victim in this case to chop where he later died and second shooting happened at the exact same time and this one at 56 treat and whylosing avenue and medics rushed that victim to the hospital. he is stable. five minutes later there was a third shooting in the 5700 block of spruce street. that victim was also pronounced dead. police are trying to determine whether or not these three shootings are in any way connected. and now in other news tonight, preparations are underway in washington d.c. for friday's inauguration of president-elect don bell. cbs correspondent wendy gilette takes us to today's dress rehearsals. >> with a wave to the into the upcoming week. what we're not going to get a taste of as we head into the next week is cold polar air and association with polar vortex staying locked up well to the north and jet stream not allowing it to dip down into parts of the united states and temperatures stay on the more mild side of average. as we head into the upcoming week and overnight tonight little chill, 28. partly cloudy, calm winds, no wind chill impact as we wake up on monday morning and increasing clouds and temperatures runing a couple of degrees above average. and we'll start off with sunshine and then clouds move in as we head into the average and winds good morning, everybody stay on the lighter side, 5 miles an hour. storm scan three showing us quiet conditions and high level clouds streaming on through and clear sky conditions to the lehigh valley and poconos. right now, much more active weather as we move westbound this is our next storm system. so, pretty far away at this point and causing measurable isa cross portions of the central plains and you can see symptom strong storms in association with the system rolling across portions of central texas. it will be in weakened state when it arrives in the delaware valley and it brings us periods of rain. i think light in intensity in the morning and could see heavier pocket late day and evening hours and this will be event though conducive to the umbrella because we won't have breezing conditions along with the precipitation. wind will stay relatively light through tuesday. future weather showing us quiet conditions as we head into tonight. there's sunshine to kickoff the monday. and clouds starts to increase from southwest to northeast through the day tomorrow. and could see a passing sprinkle as we head to tomorrow night and this particular model m bringing in scattered spotty showers tuesday morning i think the precipitation could be a little more widespread and even in the morning. but again looking light in intensity and as we head late day into the evening hours we will likely see heavier pocket of rainfall tuesday evening and tuesday night before the moisture clears out as we head to midday wednesday. for tomorrow, kicking things off quiet on a monday. sunshine to late day clouds in the poconos and increasing clouds down the shore high temperatures in the upper 0s and higher elevations. and as we head into tuesday there's next rain chance and could see a shower linger into wednesday morning and that is our most mild day of the workweek up to 56 degrees. thursday looks nice albeit cooler and 49 is still teb above the average and we'll hand on to near 50 as we head into the end of week and start of next weekend. so, no brutally cold air to see there the next seven days. >> yes i'm taking notes, no
