trump ralliers were met by anti-trump protesters. philadelphia police had to shut down the. >> usa. >> reporter: the started as a scheduled pro trump make america great rally on independence mall. >> three months in the making now been trying to do this. >> reporter: one of many around the country today but in philadelphia, not too long after the planned rally started, it was taken over. by hundreds of anti-trump protesters. the clash turning chaotic at one point when protesters set off cans of smoke, the protest scheduled to go until 5:00 this evening was shut down around 3:00 in the afternoon. >> this march is over o. >> reporter: despite having to end the rally and protest early, philadelphia police say they only had to issue two citations for disorderly conduct. reporting live on independence hall alycia nieves. >> this is all happening as the trump administration vows to quickly move past their failed effort to repeal and replace the affordable care act. we get more now from and cbs news correspondent wendy gillette. [applause] >> reporter: vice president mike pence told small business leaders in charleston, west virginia saturday that the fight to repeal obamacare is not over. >> yesterday wasn't a victory for the american people. it was a victory for the status quo in that washington, d.c. and it was a victory for the disaster of obamacare. but i promise you that victory won't last very long. [applause] >> reporter: democrats had a different take. >> let's just for a moment breathe a sigh of relief for the american people that the affordable care act was not repealed. >> reporter: president trump tweeted saturday, obamacare will explode. and we will all get together a piece together a great healthcare plan for the people. do not worry. supporters of president trump held mimic great again rallies across the country saturday including in new york. some republicans here admit they're disappointed right now. >> i'm not going to spin it. i'm bitterly disappointed. i mean the republican party eats their own. they blew it. >> i wouldn't call that a defeat. i would call it making sure that it gets done right. >> reporter: in california fights broke out between trump supporters and opponents. in ohio pro trump demonstrators marched through the streets of columbus. top republicans and the president say they're ready to move onto other issues including tax reform o wendy gillette for cbs3 "eyewitness news." >> well, mean time the rain almost held off today for the 35th memorial mercy cup regatta on the schuylkill river in fairmount park. both men and women collegiate rowing teams participated in the first race of the season. temple university drexel lasalle and about 40 other colleges from around the country hit the water. penn state teammates say today's race is a precursor for the season. >> expecting new things. we have a new coach this season. we're. expecting to be a little bit faster than last year. really this first race will give us a gauge of how we think the rest of the season will play out. >> as they wrap up races today drivers should still actually expect detours in the area of kelly drive. now we hope you were able to at least take advantage of the beautiful weather earlier. no need for ing gentleman. it was the beautiful out there. but those ups and downs they're coming back down now i guess. there's some rain out there. i had to run back in and get my umbrella lauren. >> yes, things are turning around pretty quickly in some areas, reaching for the umbrella or the jacket very quickly in some areas due to a very slow moving cold front working its way and southbound through the delaware valley but before that frontal boundary arrives, temperatures were and extremely warm. 76 our high today in philadelphia. that is our warmest high temperature since october 30th. we got to 80 in millville, 81 can degrees the high temperature today in a.c. that was a record. 81 degrees beating a previous record of 79 set back in 1963 but check out our current temperature in that a.c. right now. 58 degrees all that a and to that east wind that has picked up off the ocean. ocean temperature 42 degrees so we dropped about 20 degrees in two hours along the coast. still hanging out in the 60's in philadelphia but temperatures are dropping as some cooler air is moving slowly southbound in association with this frontal boundary. ahead of the front seeing some shower activity a band of light showers slow sol, woulding its way south but then as we head into the overnight period it's going to slowly work its way back up to the north and for tomorrow, a big difference of a day. keeping around the clouds but we'll add in periods of light rain and drizzle and much cooler temperatures so if you're getting out there for the half marathon, the love run temperatures not going to be too bad altogether for running generally in the upper 40's but you are going have top contend with light rain and that's going to be the trend over the next several days with a stalled outbound carroutououtoutboundary. >> a flames ripped through a the two story home on the 1700 block kathleen court friday afternoon. police say the woman called 911 to report the fire started on the lower level. she said the flames were heading up the stairs to the second floor. everyone did get out unharmed and the cause does remain under investigation at this hour. also tonight new jersey police are trying to figure out how the body of a man and woman ended up in the shrewsbury river near a marina. the bodies were discovered on friday afternoon in monmouth beach. police are not identifying the man or the woman as they continue this investigation. and a car ran over a pedestrian in drexel hill delaware county this morning. "eyewitness news" at state road and harper avenue at about 8 o'clock, a sneaker water bottle fitbit and cell phone they were all items scattered along the ground. no word on the victim's condition. police are questioning the driver of the car. so far no word on how the accident even started. some new details emerging about the travels of the london attacktory. a massive effort is under way to and determine how khalid masood became radicalized. he made three trips top saudia arabia. he taught english there twice on a work visa. masood is accused of killing three people when he ran over pedestrians on the westminster bridge wednesday. dozens of others were injured. isis has claimed responsibility for the attack. >> doesn't really fit the normal profile of a young terrorist inspired or directed by the islamic state. an older man 52 years of age a father of three children. >> officers shot and killed masood. more than a dozen victims remain hospitalized. and today the law enforcement community remembered the fourth victim of the attack. police officer keith palmer. dozens laid flowers in his memory at parliament square in london. investigators say the suspect stabbed palmer as he was guarding parliament. this happened after he ran over on the pedestrians on westminster bridge. and turkish airlines meantime says it has found a way to reassure its passengers about the new electronics ban on certain u.s. flights. it went into effect today. the ban fork bids passengers from bringing any electronic devices larger than a cell phone into the cabin. today the airline ceo tweeted photos of their new check in setup. they show a hard case that be used to safely store electronic devices handed in at the boarding gate. each device is wrapped and it's tagged. the u.s. ban affects nine airlines serving the middle east and north africa. feeling a bit adventurous this weekend? all of a sudden i was out enjoying the day. >> i know. >> then i had to run back in and get my umbrella. >> things turned on a dime thanks to a frontal boundary that doesn't know what it wants to be its having an identity crisis, is it a cold front, is it a warm front. >> what is it. >> it's going to be both over the next couple days so that is going to give us very inconsistent weather. it is going to be unsettled and getting a live look right now at center city philadelphia, dreary skies, saw peaks of sunshine but overall the trend has been for clouds and temperatures even though we got into the middle 70's today, we are cooler now that that slow moving what is now a cold front at the moment is pushing its way southbound so temperatures have cooled off quite a bit just in the last couple hours. we're at 60 degrees right now northeasterly winds around 14 miles per hour but cooler weather we know it's been the trend for this march. our average temperature for this month, about two and a half inches below average. last march we were about seven and a half degrees above average and then 2015 nearly four and a half degrees below average. so, the frontal boundary doesn't know what it wants to do, march temperatures they don't know what they want to do. we have a pretty big temperature gradient across the area. 41 trees in mount pocono, 76 degrees in millville. your temperatures though are going to be cooling pretty quickly even over the next hour as some of that cooler air works in. you can see the stalled out frontal boundary. cooler air to the north we're at 49 degrees right now in the big apple. south of that boundary it's 77 degrees in washington but we have this east wind picking up. i think we all know what an east wind means. it's coming in off the ocean so that means cooler air and dreary type weather is going to take over. even as we head into the evening hours, cooling off, light showers around temperatures in the 50's overnight tonight we're down 46 degrees some scattered light showers around with cloudy conditions persisting. as we look at storm scan3 showing us that band of shower activity pretty light in intensity slowly worked its way southbound across the delaware valley through the day today. it will continue to do so before it starts to lift back northward as we head into the day tomorrow but for right now, dry conditions in center city philadelphia. over the last three hours you had to grab that umbrella. now we're seeing light rainfall around glassboro stretching up in parts of just south of mount laurel and it will move southbound over the next hour. so what to expect for our sunday. below average temperatures after this very warm day, all due to that cool easterly wind flow off the atlantic. cloudy and dreary with periods of light rain and drizzle altogether. not a great looking day. future weather going to show us as we head throughout the overnight still scattered showers kind of in that line from philadelphia points west and east. then it starts to move northward in association with that that boundary. overnight best chance of showers will be north of the city. then tomorrow we're going to see more in the way of like patchy drizzle light rainfall as opposed to shower activity its not until tomorrow night, monday and then on tuesday when we see a little bit more energy building in. we'll start to see more in the way of heavier shower activity especially west of the city on monday and then for everyone as we head into tuesday, before we finally clear out on wednesday but high temperatures tomorrow are going to be al bit different. we're topping at 49 degrees in philadelphia. a high of only 44 in allentown after 80's today in atlantic city, they'll only be in the 40's for tomorrow and up and down temperatures take us into the next several days. 49 tomorrow but then we're back up at 65 on monday with those hit or miss showers, maybe some thunder. best chance of rain over the next several days looks like it's going to be on tuesday as a cold front moves on through and finally clears us out with some showers and a few thunderstorms possible i think mainly in the afternoon and early evening hours and then wednesday and thursday going to look quite nice as we start to wrap up the month of march.
