delaware and you'll fine the showers, cape may county now they are in pretty much setting up in that area. there is a flood advisory until 9:00 with the rain we have already seen and that is through the kent, and new castle county area. so where they have joined that is where we are seeing heavier rain and that is until 9:00 o'clock. we have a chance of picking up showers or thunderstorms in other areas as we get through the day-to-day as well but most of the time it will be rain free today. seventy-three in philadelphia. seventy-four wilmington. 72 degrees in trenton. it is a very mild start to the day except in the poconos where it is lovely at 57. so if you just say i cannot get enough cool weather go to the poconos right now. otherwise we have temperatures by noon 83 degrees. by 3:00 p.m. we are at our high with these showers here and there 86 degrees. we will talk about a week that bring in more of these oh, here and there showers and i'll show you those ahead todd. thank you very much. more on the breaking news out of west philadelphia where a massive water main break is forcing evacuations and wreaking havoc on a neighborhood. cherrie greg from kyw news radio 1060 is live from west philadelphia with more, cherrie. >> reporter: good morning, todd. what a morning for the resident here in west philadelphia. dozens have been evacuated here along north 52nd street where workers from the water department are here along with fire officials trying to stop the flood of water from flood ago long here on fifth second sleet. the source appears to be near fifth second and penns grove where you can sea water gushing from the ground. the break appears to affect several blocks along 52nd street. there are several cars that are at least partially submerged and a number of homes evacuated. i spoke with residents lived as far away as 52nd and market who say they are without water, as well as residents who live along these streets extended from north fifth second including wyalusing penns grove ape west minister. i spoke with one gentlemen thomas matthews, who was riding his bike along fifth second street and he felt a rumble when the water main actually broke. i spoke to a woman here, whose carries partially submerged. her carries now totaled. you can almost see it, the water is up to the door, so she was here from georgia to see her sister graduate from high school. they have been told to go to west philadelphia, and sending in two buses to help with those evacuations. also route fifth second busies detoured at 52nd and girard until further notice. we have been told by fire officials, that they will brief reporters shortly on the status of evacuations also, water department, efforts to stop this water main break. this is something of a morning for these residents here on 52nd of west philadelphia who woke up to gushing water and no water in their homes. live from west philadelphia, cherrie greg, kyw news radio for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> thanks very much. difficult day for people out there in west philadelphia. well, new this morning a double shooting in camden, it happened on the 2800 block of zahners street preliminary reports say at least one person was taken to cooper hospital with injuries, no word on the conditions of the victims. a short time later also in camden county police responded to reports of a man shot in the arm and it happened on the 2200 block of admiral wilson boulevard. the man was transported to -- transported himself to cooper university hospital and it is not known if the two incidents in camden county are related. police are investigating the incident. early morning fight end with one man stabbed outside of the xfinity live complex in south philadelphia. this stabbing occurred just after 2:00 a.m. police say a 25 year-old man was taken to methodist hospital with a stab wound to his wrist. he is listed in stable condition, police arrested a man and recovered a weapon used in that attack. a fire broke out overnight in burlington county, it happened on the 1300 block of industrial highway in cinnaminson just before 2:30 in the morning. authorities say a tractor trailer filled with aerosol cans started to explode in that fire. fire did extend in the building, and there were no injuries and the causes under investigation. two people are dead following a standoff in philadelphia police in kensington. "eyewitness news" reporter steve paterson spoke with the officers in the line of fire. >> reporter: a moment, a split decision, a matter of inches. >> it doesn't get much closer than that. >> reporter: two philadelphia police officers had to make tough calls under fire when a call for shots fired in this kensington neighborhood turned to calls for backup. >> as soon as we pulled up, we heard shots fired at our vehicle. >> reporter: police say at 2:00 saturday afternoon neighbors reported gunfire at this home in the 3500 block of emerald street. responding, 35 year-old brendon byrd and his under study 25 year-old jonathan ballinger, on just his fourth day on the street. bullets came immediately nearly hitting them both. >> scary moments as soon as i heard shots i wanted to get behind the vehicle and get behind cover and i'm glad everyone is safe and no police officers or residents were injured. >> reporter: instead of returning fire in the densely populated row homes veteran and rookie called in swat, after a two hour standoff an evacuation of 20 homes two men were found inside dead. eyewitness video shows the moment they went in, recovered a weapon and cleared the scene. >> we are just very happy that despite the fact that there were shots fired at police we have no officers injured no members of the community injured and the situation is now under control. >> reporter: with the standoff and ensuing police situation now over, neighbors have been allowed to return to their home as homicide detectives continue to investigate how this all started. reporting from kensington i'm steve paterson for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". a texas man is dead after he ambushed officers and unleashed barrage of gunfire at dallas police headquarters. cell phone video captured gun battle between a suspect and officers. the suspect who was in an armored vehicle containing pipe bombs drove into a police cruiser and more shots were fired. a snipper killed the suspect inside his vehicle where even more explosives were found. jim bolwear says his son james, was the shooter. >> everyone of us has a breaking point. he finally reached his. it took him three years he had to selfing he had to make end meet. >> police say suspect ranted about losing custody of his on but they have yet to confirm his story. fire forced evacuation of the high rise apartment complex in cheltenham montgomery county. it happened inside one of the buildings inside towers at wyncote on limekiln pike. fire occurred on the 11th floor of the 12th story building. fire fighters rescued dogs in the building and he was barking as paramedics gave it oxygen. none of the residents were injured exiting the building. the cause of the fire remains under investigation. police department face off in a charity basketball tournament to benefit the family of slain philadelphia, police sergeant robert wilson. the police department crossed the bridge to take on the philadelphia police department. stands were filled with supporters and chestnut hill college, in philadelphia. it is real good. we have people making donations directly to the trust fund, before the tournament even kicks off over a week ago people made co nations. the son was at the game, his father was gunned down during a robbery at a game stop in north philadelphia on march 25th. and happening right now thousands of bicyclist are on the road to the shore taking part in the forty-third annual american cancer society bridge to beach bike-a-thon. the 66-mile journey started at the base of the ben franklin bridge and will end some of the clouds but they will too. they will be lifting. we're happy to say and you can see that it is moving, out this is a look at storm scan three and this is loop over last three hours. lots of thunderstorms. enough of them have heavy rain that the flood advisory is in effect until 9:00 this morning for new castle county and right where it joins up with kent county, through the center of the state. so right now cape may county, wildwood you're dealing with the same thing rehoboth beach saw, and it is moving away, fortunately, but we could be dealing with a few more showers over other parts of the area as well today. seventy-three in philadelphia right now at the airport. we have the seats are small and overhead compartment is crowded. seventy-two in trenton. seventy-four in 80's and upper 80's thomas we will justin with the heat humidity, and chances of picking up showers and some drenching thunderstorms as well. by tuesday we're also looking at a chance of showers and thunderstorms, temperatures will get around 90 degrees, maybe exceeding that by a degree or so. computer models, in the future, lets see if there are any change that he is we're dealing with here. we will see these showers exiting by the time we hit 2:00 this afternoon there are a few other scattered about and this computer model may not be picking up on all of the showers that might be scattered downpour is not out of the question. most of the time as you can tell it will be rain free but when we get rain, you will see a chance of picking up a lot. even on tuesday we are still dealing with those showers and that is last week of spring kind of weather we are getting. by the time we hit monday night these computer models are saying philadelphia will have seen over an inch of rain and that same amount in millville and inch and a half in reading. these totals may not be accurate but there is moisture and rain showers and we have chances of all that happening. june is slightly warmer, lot warmer when we average it out but rainfall is excessive. we are 1.80 inches on the rainfall totals. 87 degrees today. tonight we will drop down showers then are storms 70 degrees. we are in the 80's breaking news in west philadelphia crews on the scene of the massive water main break. we will update you in just a moment but first here's meteorologist carol erickson with eyewitness weather. >> we have had a different water main break it was from the sky today and over sections of southern and central delaware. i want to show thaw in just a second but right now you would never know it was raining in parts of the area based on this look here at ben franklin bridge, blue skies, it looks just gorgeous and if you go to ocean city notice how beautiful it looks there and everybody is outside enjoying themselves. down in rehoboth beach we have seen some showers. you can see it just starting to clear up, the boardwalk is starting to dry out, a lot of rain fell in the rehoboth beach area, through dover and sections of new castle county. it was an interesting morning. here's a wide view over the last couple of hours and you can see the showers working their way through. we will zoom in and there were some showers and thunderstorms and they brought a lot of rain. right now, cape may county maybe just picking up very tail end from sea isle, points south, that is where you will find the most clouds at this point. that too is moving out of the way, but it was a very soggy morning, our temperatures, 73 at the airport in philadelphia right now, 72 in trenton. seventy-four in wilmington. our daze shapes up like this we have 83 degrees by noon. by 3:00 p.m. 86 degrees. these spotty showers that they have seen with heavy downpours cannot be ruled out over next couple of streets and submerged a dozen vehicles. cherrie greg from our sister station kyw news radio 1060 is live in west philadelphia with more cherrie. >> reporter: good morning, todd. water department officials are here on the scene trying to stop the what the their was gushing along here all this morning. fourteen people had to be evacuated and home pressure is being affect along north 52nd street. this is what folks woke up to this morning. philadelphia fire captain william dixon son spoke to reporters saying they have a call around 5:00 a.m. someone trapped in a vehicle that was being flooded with water. they came on the scene with the rescue and people were already selfie vac waiting their homes here on 52nd between west minister and wyalusing, of course, no one has been injured. i spoke with an official from the water department and she said it was a 3-foot main that was installed in 1885 that burst opened. they are digging underground to stop the water and they expect the street will likely cave-in where the majority of that water had been gushing from the ground. i also spoke with a woman who was visiting philadelphia for a relatives graduation. they are carries now totaled. it was fully submerged of water earlier this morning. a lot of the residents along the street are complaining about damage furniture and flooded basement and other things like that. the water department says that claims adjusters will be on the scene later this morning hopefully helping people become whole of course, the water department is not sure just yet what the cause of the break is, and they are working this morning running some tests, to find out what caused that problem. main issue is if there were a fire right now there could cause some problems, because so many fire officials are currently on the scene but again, no injuries, and hopefully there is water that will stop soon and you can see it looks like a small river behind me on north fifth second street. live from west responded just before 4:00 a.m. to the 1800 block of east thayer street. they discovered a man in his 20's shot four times in the head . he was pronounced dead at the scene. police have not released a description or motive at this time. a swat standoff leads to the discovery of two men dead inside of a kensington row home, and around 2:00 p.m. saturday police say a man fired gunshots at officers and barricaded himself inside a house on the 3500 block of emerald street. a swat team robot located two bodies inside that house but police have not yet identified the two people found dead in that house and it is unclear if the shooter was one of them. today, it is day nine of the manhunt for two convicted killers who escaped a maximum security prison in new york. prison worker joyce mitchell has been charged with aiding an inmate's escape, court documents revealed she gave richard matt and david sweat hacksaw blades, chisels and drill bits tracking dogs pick up the scent in katieville, new york. >> we have a message for david sweat and richard matt, we're coming for you and we will not stop until you are caught. >> joyce mitchell pleaded not guilty to felony charges. embattled naacp leader rachel dolezal said sheila dress the controversy surrounding her race monday night. it will happen at a regularly scheduled meeting of spokane's naacp chapter. her estrange parents say that she is white and has been misrepresenting herself to people for years. dolezal has said that she considers herself to be black city officials though are now investigating whether dolezal falsely represented herself as black when she applied to be on a police oversight commission. in campaign 2016, hillary clinton's presidential campaign is picking up, the democratic front runner officially launched her campaign with a big rally in new york city. cbs news correspondent was at that rally and she tells us more. >> reporter: with music huge crowd and flag draped stage, hillary clinton led alex scott stand for hope is living on as lemonade days weekend continues. hundreds visited the original alex's lemonade stand at pen win elementary school in wynnewood. that is where alex was a student, it is the 15th anniversary of her first fundraiser to help fight childhood cancer. thursday, we here at cbs-3 held our ninth annual tell-a-thon benefiting alex's lemonade stand foundation and it was a record breaking day, we're proud to say in, 14 hours we have raised nearly $3 million thank you so much to all of you out there who helped. you can see the inspirational stories of alex and other children who are carrying on her legacy, our award winning documentary alex scott, a stan for hope, airs this morning at 11:30 right here on cbs-3. and it is inspirational. our eyewitness weather watchers up this morning of course and they are weighing in with their thoughts on the weather day. 68 degrees is the temperature that we will find with robin and robin in mount laurel says that the dew point is 63. of course, dew point measures amount of moisture in the air. sixty-three starting to get a little bit sticky, get out early to exercise, a great idea, because later on in the nice start to the day. lets take a walk. we will walk over and find out on the boardwalk just how many people are out there who have decide that had sunday june 14th is the day to be on the ocean city boardwalk, a lot of them are there and a lot more will end up there. boardwalk, i want to show you another boardwalk. we have been looking at this one all morning long. it is starting to brighten up this was a dark picture here an hour ago. lots of heavy rainfall. boardwalk is drying out. people are out, they have put away umbrellas. taken their noses pressed up a against the glass looking out and going what, on our day to the beach? now it will turn into more of a beach day. we have a temperature of seven to degrees right now in rehoboth beach. very pleasant to get out. i mentioned those showers though, look at this, a lot of thunderstorms that went through kent county and they also rely impacted the southern sections of new castle county through kent, through cape may county, they are exiting leaving but not totally gone. look what is following along. we have a batch of showers through lancaster right now and thinks a stalled out front in the area and that is just, that is just allowed to be like a train track allow any kind of moisture or troublemaker to decide to pull a stunt, and it is probably more likely where it will pull the stunt right where that stalled out front is. that front does eventually move through the north as a warm front and we will get other chances of showers and other parts of the area. and 73 degrees right now in philadelphia, 74 in wilmington. twenty-seven up in trenton. we will continue to have this cool 57 degrees, up in the poconos. if you like that cooler weather and you probably do if you are up in the poconos you've got just a gorgeous morning up there our future weather, now it is added this feature, of a few showers moving on through again and a few other showers wye 11:00 o'clock this morning maybe through wilmington. do you see some through philadelphia, south jersey, this is a day of the spotty shower here and there an isolated thunderstorm cannot be ruled out as we hit this evening though we will start to see more chances oven heavier rain. heavy rain, cannot be ruled out, there is just, you know, you can feel the moisture yourself, and you know how much and certainly atmosphere knows how much is out there scattered showers with we have i rain in it can be happening tonight, overnight, to the north, moving on through and then on monday, scattered around now, this looks pretty dry but as we move on into the afternoon we will pick up areas of these scattered showers and we will do the very same thing on tuesday and with this said it sound like it is raining all the time it is not mess of the time it is not raining but when it does rain, it has the chance of really raining hard for a while. this is a look at tuesday afternoon where we will continue with some of these showers. so the amounts will be on the order of at least an inch and by the time we will get to the end of the week by next saturday there could be several inches in several spots. just based on the amount of rain that we have got and if you get a thunderstorm to enhance some of those totals but notice, these are estimates going out in the future just, plan a time period this week of picking up some of these showers. summer begins though, next sunday, seven days away. felt like it on friday, didn't it when it was 95. today 87. wind south at 5 miles an hour. tonight 70 degrees. again, those showers and thunderstorm chances, and heavy rain possible. same deal on monday and maybe on tuesday. 91 degrees. wednesday during the day should be dry. friday during the day it should be dry the way it looks right now but here's what is on cbs-3 tonight. phillies have not won a road game since may 24th. team could not finish yesterday. they took a two-one lead in the top of the first and then gave it right back. they eventually lost to the bucks four-three. the phillies have just squeak out three wins, in their last 18 games and currently have the worst win/loss record in all of major league baseball. the phillies making a move, they sent darren ruf to lehigh valley and called up former all-star dominic brown. brown has been in the minors all year after getting hurt in spring training. he has played well in june in the minors earning that promotion. and you might just be sitting down for breakfast but it is never too early for lunch with leslie van arsdal. leslie goes one on one with the phillies reliever justin defratus. >> phillies reliever justin defratus has been one of the steady bull pen pieces but growing up he never thought he would play in the big league. >> i knew this is what i wanted to do. i really didn't know it was an actual real thing that could happen until i got the call and looked at by scouts. >> i looked at myself as a normal average player. i was never one of those guys in high school who threw seven no hitters and nobody touched me. i got lit up pretty good. >> as for his big league wow moment. >> would i not say the players have given me the holy cow
