unbelievable when we look at a picture like this over ben franklin bridge that not far away we are dealing with showers. we will show you rehoboth beach. this is picture of boardwalk plaza as you can see through darkness and haze you cane boardwalk is wet and there is a good reason why. look at this, this is a wide right of what has been going on this morning. they've got heavy rain from a half to an inch and a half to maybe as much in isolated spots to 2 inches of rain. receipts's zoom in closer. they have had thunderstorms and a flood advisory in effect for portions of delaware. that would be for southwestern section of the new castle county a and northern kent county and you cane showers moving across as they will be brushing delaware bay. definitely we have brushing delaware bay and also brushing cape may county. kind of active this morning in some spots and that is sort of the trend over next couple days that we will fine heavy showers breaking out from time to time. seventy-two in philadelphia. zero seven in trenton. seventy in wilmington. another mild overnight to say the least. our temperatures this afternoon will be getting to mid to upper 80's. it will be a warm day with a chance of the isolated shower or thunderstorm out there as well. future weather this one has it right on target and it shows that it is already showing the showers down there which leads me to believe closer to being right as we go through rest of the day. it wants to bring a shower through asbury park north monmouth county north but they can be scattered around. just watch for those. this is look at 6:00 o'clock. heavier showers and thunderstorms. we have a lot of moisture in the air. we will talk about the seven day forecast coming up, todd. a double shooting in camden, it happened on the 2800 block of saunders street, preliminary reports say at least one person was taken to cooper hospital with injuries. we will bring you latest as we learn more. short time later also in camden county police responded to reports of a man shot in the arm. it happened on the 2700 block of admiral wilson boulevard. the man was transport ed to cooper hospital by himself. it is not known if the two incidents in camden county are related. police are investigating that incident. in early morning fight end with one man stabbed outside xfinity live complex in south philadelphia. the stabbing occurred just after 2:00 a.m. police say a 25 year-old man was taken to methodist hospital with a stab wound to the to the wrist and listed in stable condition. police arrested a man and recovered a weapon used in the a attack. a fire broke out overnight in burlington county, it happened on the 1300 block of industrial highway in cinnaminson. just before 2:30 this morning. authority say that a tractor trailer filled with aero will sol cans, started exploding in that fire, the fire, did extend into a building, and there were no injuries, and the cause of that fire is under investigation. well, a kensington neighborhood is much more calmer this morning an armed man inside the house is shot at police and held swat teams at bay. when it was over police discovered two men dead inside the home. "eyewitness news" reporter steve paterson talk to the officers who were in the direct line of fire. >> reporter: a moment, split decision, a matter of inches. >> it doesn't get much closer than that. >> reporter: two philadelphia police officers had to make tough calls when a call for shots fired in the kensington neighborhood called to calls for backup. >> as soon as we pulled up, we heard shots fired in our vehicle. >> reporter: police say at 2:00 neighbors reported gunfire at this home in the 3500 block of emerald street, responding, 35 year-old brendon byrd and his under study, 25 year-old jonathan ballinger on just his fourth day on the street. bullets came immediately. nearly hitting them both. >> scary moment, when i heard shots i wanted to get out of the vehicle and behind cover. i'm glad everybody is safe and no other officers were injured. >> reporter: instead of returning fire in the densely populated line of row homes the veteran and rookie called in swat. after a two hour standoff april evacuation of 20 homes two men were found inside, dead. eyewitness video shows the moment that they went in recovered a weapon and then cleared the scene. >> we're very happy that despite the fact that there were shots fired we have no officers injured no members of the community injured and the situation is now under control. >> reporter: with the standoff and ensuing police situation now over, neighbors have been allowed to return to their homes as homicide detectives, continue to i been investigate, how this all started. reporting from kensington i'm steve paterson for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". the fire forced evacuation of the high rise apartment complex in cheltenham, montgomery county. it happened inside one of the buildings at towers at wyncote. "eyewitness news" at line kill than pike, the fire occurred on the 11th floor, 12 story building, fire fighters rescued a dog from the building and there was barking as paramedics gave it oxygen. none of the resident were injured exiting the building. the cause remains under investigation this morning. and happening today thousands of bicyclist will hit the road to the shore as they take part in the forty-third annual american cancer society bridge to beach bike-a-thon. 66-mile journey starts with the base of the ben franklin bridge and end in atlantic city. each rider has their own fund gun discharged at a wedding reception inside new york's waldorf astoria hotel. shooting happened 7:30 saturday night. police say a wedding guest gun went off accidentally at park avenue hotel. four people suffered minor injuries shrapnel and debris including marble and falling glass. >> we were just walking in and we heard a gunshot i thought something got dropped. >> very dramatic scene. >> reporter: police arrested the shooter. waldorf astoria is where the president stays while attending the u.n. general assembly. celebration for queen elizabeth's eighty-ninth birthday on saturday, through new castle county. and kent county. we will continue to machine for that. that runs until 9:00 this morning. warm and humid today though we will be finding the temperature, in the middle to upper 80's, so pretty much on par with what we saw yesterday, sun clouds and as we move later on today we will get those chances of picking up the showers. tomorrow we could be finding heavier rain, just as we saw this morning through sections of delaware, you can get those pockets of heavier rain. tuesday we're not out of it either and temperatures get back in the 90's so expect a temperature of 90 degrees at that point. our future weather our favorite graphic, isn't it because it gives not only time going in the future but what the sky conditions are likely to be. and this one seems to be right on target, it brings those showers in, it brings in a few others, as we go through 1:00 this afternoon. not everybody at the same time. you may be enjoying rain or enjoying sun and somebody else is enjoying just the opposite. that is what we have to continue to watch out for today. 6:00 o'clock tonight and notice the yellow that bull's eye look that is when we see a downpour or two. we will see them through 6:00 o'clock tonight. we will see more at 8:00. poconos, allentown, maybe through sections of burlington county and then thomas we go early in the morning maybe just to the east of trenton through allentown we will continue to have to watch them going through south jersey, through tomorrow morning and then scattered around. so just know that this is a very unsettled time period coming up. really this whole week we have chances of showers or thunderstorms. not every where all the time but definitely out there. as we move on to tuesday we will find even more chances of some showers and storms coming in. obviously i'm not lingering anytime placement because the time will probably change, location change a little bit general take away from all this is we could be finding some showers and thunderstorms over next couple days and even wednesday, should be drying out a little bit but we are not out of the woods with that. our temperatures today partly sunny skies most of morning i'm todd quinones. nicole brewer is off today. heat and humidity continues this morning here's meteorologist carol erickson with eyewitness weather. it depends on where you live in terms of which die you have. >> mess of the time it can be rain free but you can pick up pockets of heavy rain. speaking have that we are seeing that in portions of the area. not here in philadelphia, it looks great here. look at those blue skies. it looks lovely in one section of the shore this is the sun up it is a beautiful looking shot at the take as we lot at picture at the shore. lets head over to the rehoboth beach area and we are finding a downpour at this point. we will continue with the rain showers. there is a look at atlantic city and new lets head over to the rehoboth beach area and you can see they are getting a downpour right now and so much of this center of delaware is getting or has seen the very same thing. we have pushed on and here, storm scan three net is on the wide view a few showers out there, not every where but where they are they are heavy. let's zoom in closer and you can see delaware has seen it a and now cape may county is seeing some of these thunderstorms right down by wildwood. these will be moving out you can see they are moving fast but even so we do have a flood advisory in effect, for sections of, delaware, and that would be southwestern, new castle county and northern kent county and that is until 9:00 o'clock this morning. we have seen quite a bit of rain because there is so much moisture in the air to drop some water they drop some water, anywhere from one half to 2 inches of rain has fallen out of that whole mess. we have a temperature in philadelphia 72 degrees, it is mild out there. seventy in trenton. seventy-two in wilmington. it would be a lovely delightful day if the temperatures stopped there. we expect high temperatures this afternoon in the mid to upper 80's but we will call it 86 degrees with those spotty showers. any of them can contain downpours, just note that, and as we go through tonight, we will be finding the same thing. very briefly and later in the show we will run this out for later in the time period but this computer model says we will start to see rain showers at 1:00 in the afternoon maybe east along the shore areas north of the atlantic city and long beach island and then we will see other showers at 6:00 o'clock tonight. we have been in and out of these things. most of the time it is rain free but when it isn't, it can be wet. we will check it out with the seven day forecast, todd. thank you very much. more on that breaking news in west philadelphia, where a massive water main break is forcing evacuations crews are on the scene in the area of north 52nd and west minister where a large water main rupture. cherry greg from our sister station kyw news radio 1060 is live in west philadelphia with more cherry. >> reporter: good morning, todd. i'm here where fire officials and police officials are here along this water main break along 52nd street. as you can see source of the water main break a appeared to be near penns grove avenue near fifth second. water gushing from the ground. there are cars that are partially submerged. residents all along this block of fifth second street and for several blocks have been evacuated. i have spoke with residents who tell me they have no water, they didn't have water for past couple of hours and they woke up to see this, as they heard fire officials outside of their doorway. i even spoke to one gentlemen by the name of thomas matthews who says he was ride ago long 52nd street when he felt a rumble as water began to gush out of this water main. residents tell me that there has been some road work on piping along this area over the past several weeks and they are not sure why this of course happened. the pooling seems to be along wyalusing avenue along fifth second street. it looks like it is several feet. fire officials they say that no one has been injured and most of the folks here along this roadway have been evacuated. they will be providing us more information later today. again, this appears to be a major water main break along this area of fifth second street and it probably is very likely that it extend for several blocks. i have talk to residents who live as far as six or seven blocks away who say they too do not have water. so we will head back to you todd as we get more information and provide updates as the morning continues. >> very unfortunate way to begin this sunday morning for so many people in west philadelphia, thank you so much. well, philadelphia detectives are investigating a deadly overnight shooting in the cities kensington section. police responded just before 4:00 a.m. to the 1800 block of east that ier street. they discovered a man in his late 20's that was shot four times including in the head. was pronounced dead at the scene. police have in the released a description of the suspect or a motive at this time. leads to a discovery of two men dead inside a kensington row home. around 2:00 p.m. saturday police say a man barricaded himself inside a house on the 3500 block of emerald street after firing gunshots at police officers. when swat teams failed to make contact with the shooter a police robot discovered two bodies. it is unclear if shooter was one of people found dead. an officer who was fired upon spoke to "eyewitness news" at the scene. >> as soon as i heard shots i wanted to get out of the vehicle and get behind cover and i'm glad everyone is safe and there were no officers injured. >> standoff lasted about two hours during which more than a dozen homes were evacuated. police have in the identified the people found dead inside of that house. a pits a number of police department in honor of the fallen philadelphia police officer. "eyewitness news" at chestnut hill college where a charity basketball tournament was held to benefit the family of sergeant robert wilson the third. camden county police department, came to town to take on the philadelphia police department. officers were happy to help out. >> it is real good. we have people make donations to the trust fund, before the tournament even kicks off. this is over a week ago people made donations. >> sergeant wilson's son was at the game, his father was gunned down during a robbery at i game stop in north philadelphia on march 5th. a man is dead this morning after a he opened fire and several officers at dallas police headquarters. police say that man had bombs in his vehicle. cbs news, correspondent jill wagner tells us. >> reporter: video captured a gun battle between officers and suspect outside police headquarters in dallas early saturday morning. suspect rammed his van in the police cruiser and more shots were fired. >> i raced to her in the back, pretty quickly just taking a look at what could have happened, his intent and how we dodged literally dodged bullets. >> reporter: police found several pipe bombs scattered around the building. >> we barely survived the intent of this suspect. >> reporter: police cornered the suspect in the parking lot of the fast food restaurant in the dallas suburbs where a snipper killed him. concerned for their safety and possible explosives, police sent in a row with about on the to clear the scene that is when a fire broke out inside the van in a 911 call police say the shooter identified himself as sheila dress shore race monday night. it will happened at a regularly scheduled meeting of the spokane's n double ac p chapter. her estranged parents say she is white and had been misrepresenting herself to people for years. dolezal said he considers herself to be black. city officials are now investigating when dolezal falsely represented herself as black when she applied to be on a police about a possible drunk driver in beverly hills. police initially took stamos to the hospital because of a possible medical issue and while at the hospital, authorities determined he was driving under trenton. seventy-two in wilmington. we have 58 up in the poconos. still cool up there. now, today temperatures will get in the 80's. yesterday we will stay in the 80's. we have never hit that 90-degree mark. there were no complaints. just arbitrary almost a heat wave of three days of 90 plus. we had two definitely. then yesterday we fell 2 degrees short of it, which is fine. today we will be about the same temperature as yesterday which was 88. we could be 86 to 88 degrees. we've got this front just stalled out here and this is a focusing mechanism for those showers. then tomorrow we will get forward and northward as a warm front and more shower and or thunderstorms can be breaking out. on monday, once gannon tuesday as well as we watch the approach of another front. we are back in the heat on tuesday but the showers thunderstorm chances also continue. here's our future weather if it were completely right it would have this a little bit more over here, that is why when you see hit in one spot, is it 20 miles, 40 miles off? you get the idea. the idea is that showers have been going by this morning and there called could be more that go by, again here is a look north of the atlantic city this computer model says at 1:00 this afternoon we will get downpours. could that be adjusted to the south a couple miles? just kind of make sure that you think about that as you are outside today. 6:00 o'clock we have got heavier rain showers that will be spotty and coming up and a lot of them north of i78, that may be an area thaw find through allentown area that is an area where you'll find some showers out there and heavier downpours, this is another look at 9:00 o'clock tonight where we have heavier rain to the north, we will keep that going at midnight, by the time we will get to 5:00 o'clock tomorrow morning are there a few showers associated with the shore area scattered about throughout the afternoon this is just unfortunately what the trend thinks week. if you want the rain we will probably be seeing a good bit of it this week. probably everybody gets an inch and there could be spots with more than that. tomorrow tuesday, we have also got showers. wednesday i think during the day we will basically dry out but today 87 degrees, scattered showers, 78 at the shore. poconos eight two. might find a thunder storm up there even with the wind out of the south at 5 miles an hour. tonight 70 degrees and heavy downpour not out of the question and not out of the question on monday and tuesday either and then wednesday i think during the day we should be dry but the way it looks right now we will be back with wet weather again wednesday night, thursday, friday should be dry saturday do we see some showers? yes. just something to monitor all week
