Rain, winds, even some hail. These storms did mean business. We talked about it, there were people shoveling about an inch deep of hail in the poconos, roofs blown off some buildings, north of the sit my the Lehigh Valley. It brought a big change, we feel it already. Back to typical february stuff. We were spoiled by the warm weather, if you liked. That will we have a shot at 70 degrees once again this week before we see another shift in our pattern. But today, kind of typical for the end of february temperatures back down to the 40s. Little cold though this morning. At least compared to what it has been. Thirtyeight at the airport in philadelphia, we have the northwest wind at 16 so win chill values, 29 degrees, wild, talk about windchills for this time of year. Thirtyfive the actual temperature in the Lehigh Valley, 26 mount pocono, thats good news for the ski resorts, start cranking out some snow the next couple of nights, fill up the base again, mid 30s in the suburbs, quakertown, willow grove. We have some gusts up to around 30 Miles Per Hour with the west northwest winds. That will be the trends today, stays on the windy side with gusts to near 30 through the morning into the afternoon. Again the windchills this morning headed out the next few mornings, feels cold, mid 20s, 14 mount pocono, little rough for the morning work out or run if you are headed outside. But at least dry on storm scan3. We do have some clouds over us, snow showers, really across the mountains of central and western pennsylvania, so well see mixture of sun and clouds today. And parent every long hair kids know styling can sure be tough. How one dads invention is helping to de friz and de tangle. Justin . Good sunday morning, everyone, waking to up temperatures good 20 degrees colder, so it is back to reality today. Wont last though. Another warm up coming this week. Well many of us sleep with our phones charged next to us. Another reason why thats not a good idea. Take a look at this, thats the new iphone seven going up in smoke. This happened on wednesday in tuscon. Brianna had her phone charging on her bed, her boyfriend woke up and decided to unplug it for no good reason, then walked away. Moments later began making a strange buzzing noise. From the corner of the eye he saw the eye phone smoking. I always sleep with my phone right next to me. . Stowe starts it heat up. A. M. Sell now investigating that incident. It is also replacing the phone and the phone case that melted. Too hot to handle, justin, no longer warm in our area, though, unfortunately. No, we hit 70 degrees yesterday, not record, but nice little treat. If you dont like the cold. But back to typical february stuff today. We do have another warm upcoming at us, another run at 70 degreesment little price though, talking about some rain though coming with those warm temperatures. But this morning, big difference, if youre about to step outside. The winds has kick up, out of the west and northwest, behind that strong cold front which brought the severe storms to the region. Looking live at bet him right now from the Hotel Bethlehem main street northampton county, got hit pretty hard, lehigh county, a lot of storm reports with hail, roof damage to a lot of building up into the Lehigh Valley with the strong winds gusting over 60 Miles Per Hour yesterday. But today, whole lot quieter, just have to deal with gusty wind to up 30 Miles Per Hour, so here are the headlines, today, seasonable, temperatures back down into the 40s, maybe upper 40s for the warmest spots, highest temperature 40 degrees. Like i said we warm it up each day this week. Looks like wednesday the warmest day, and by the end of the week we get another drop in temperatures. So Little Something for everybody. Couple of rain chances to talk about for the middle of the week, as well, with the warmer air arriving. Look at the change in the temperatures, outside yesterday at this time, we were well to the 50s, now in the mid 30s, millville, 37 degrees, and the capitol city of delaware, around philadelphia, similar numbers. So breeze this morning, kind of mixing up the air little bit. So we dont have any real cold spots. So everybody kind of hanging out in the low to mid 30s, thats to the north and west. Quakertown 34 degrees, mount pocono checking in at 26 after some spring skiing conditions over the past several days. So back from winter up in the poconos, can start making some snow again. This is what it really feels like, this is key. Outside feels like 20s in some locations, 25 allentown, 28 wilmington, delaware, may need the gloves, and going for the bike ride or just walking the dog outside this morning, big difference. Look at the flow coming in off the wells. Havent seen that in a while, thats some snow showers breaking out in the mountains of western pennsylvania coming off the lakes and upstate new york. Clear skies over eastern new jersey right now, some clouds will move in, the morning into the afternoon with the cold air aloft in the atmosphere, but we will be dry, generally mix every sunday and clouds, High Pressure dominating our weather. So that blocks any big storms from developing in near future. Eventually that high drift off shore. You notice clouds building monday, sign of milder air returning in the upper atmosphere, moves down to the surface, when it arrives we will see the next storm system, as women, couple of showers possible on tuesday. Not big deal. Wont be all day wash out at all. Here comes the next warmfront, pushes through later tuesday into wednesday. Wednesday is the day we can make another run at 70 degrees. So, temps today, we struggle to get back to the mid, i think we hit upper fours in some spots, especially with the westerly winds. So comes down off the mountains, when that happens, air actually heats up little bit more. So the mild usually doesnt pick it up. May have to add couple of degrees. Tonight it does get cold by 8 00 outside feel the difference. Thirtys returning to the region tomorrow. Chilly, i think a lot of suburbs are down by the freezing mark, been a while since we hit that. Then tomorrow look at that, back to the 50s, running almost 10 degrees back above average. So, today, windy, colder, 48 degrees. Tonight, chilly night. Mostly clear. Mid 30s r, for the city, colder in the suburbs. Extended forecast, showers around tuesday, better chance wednesday high near 70. By the end of the week we cool back down again, saturdays high near 40. On this cbs3 health watch now, new product to help tame frizzy hair invented by a frustrated dad. It is, i feel bad if you werent able to get out yesterday and enjoy the nice weather. Today different story. Typical for the end every fen. Still not that bad though. This is what were dealing with for the second half of the winter. Not bad. Temperatures in the fours, little chilly with the wind, though, but big drop in the numbers, compared to this time yesterday. Almost 20 degrees colder in philadelphia, 26 in allentown, so you get the picture, back to reality, what were saying compared to the past couple of days with high temperatures well into the 70s, hit 73 yesterday. Not a record though before those storms came in. Those storms meant business, and they really are bringing in the colder air. Thirtyfive the current temperature in the Lehigh Valley, 26 in mount pocono. Upper 30s around philadelphia, suburbs, kind of in the same situation right now, mid 30s, quakertown, willow grove. Really no cold spots just because we have a breeze, which is mixing up the air little bit. Those winds will gust to about 30 Miles Per Hour through the morning, into the afternoon, so thats taken little bit of edge off these temperatures, so it does feel like the 20s on exposed skin, so windchills this morning, generally mid upper 20s, look back to the 30s by the afternoon. But over the past 18 hours, you can see, storms ripped through the region, a lot of damage report, numerous hail reports, roofs blown off, many buildings, especially up into the Lehigh Valley. Now just left with some clouds over us, currently, and then we will see some sunshine this morning, but your temperature breakdown, struggle to get back to the low 40s by late morning, afternoon highs, should make it up into the mid upper 40s at best, for the warmest spot today. Hard to believe with all of the warmth. Camelback, still a lot of trails open right now, crank out snow, should be no problems for the next week or so. Because weather for the most part looking pretty good. Rain chances but doesnt look like any big storms right now. Dramatic drop in the temperature, yesterday hit 73 degrees for the afternoon high. Just before those storms came on through. We had enough sunshine out there, wasnt record though, record high 79. Today, we struggle to get back to the mid maybe upper 40s at best. So huge drop in the numbers. Average high this time of year is 47 degrees. Like it warm, wait few more days, tomorrow back to the 50s, above average, by wednesday, approaching that 70. And then by the end of the week, back down possibly even below average by friday into the upcoming weekend. So typical for march. Temperatures will be up and down. Thats probably going to be the pattern for at least the first half of march. I think we will start to see some colder days from time to time. Look at the winds flow, ushering in colder air, mid upper threes for temperatures right now, cold air, up into southern canada, great lakes region, in the 20s at this hour, buffalo and state college. Not supporting snow showers, havent seen that for awhile, with all of the recent warm temperatures, so lake effect snow western pennsylvania, ohio, new york, maybe stray flurries in the poconos into the afternoon. Everybody else mixture every sunday shine and clouds. Here is the set up. High pressure pretty much dominating our region for the rest every today into monday. So dry. Going to see more sunshine for the start every monday, then clouds start to move in for monday afternoon actually warmer air returning, maybe couple every rain showers on tuesday, not a big deal, most of the day does stay dry. Maybe even few peaks every sunday shine, warmfront pushes through later tuesday into wednesday. Wednesday going to be the warmest day, still threat for some showers around, yes, talking zero seven, but does come at a little price may have to dodge some rain at times.
