>> the four year old was taken to children's hospital where he was pronounced dead monday evening. today police are still searching for the driver of this black suv. spotted during the deadly hit-and-run on the 1600 block of south 57th street. crying crying. a short time later monday evening, and 10 miles away, a separate hit-and-run. this time, the young mother, and her child injured in kensington. police say the 19 year old woman was caring her two year old son in a carseat. 2700 block of already err street, and both were hit. surveillance cameras, witnesses alike saw the striking vehicle in this case, as well. >> we're pretty confident that we will be able to identify, and apprehends, both of these drivers. >> now the mother and child in that case of course were taken to the hospital. both in critical condition at last check. the mother was list in the critical condition but stabilized, she's expected to survive. her two year old son is listed in critical condition of course, we will update you on their conditions just as soon as we get them. meantime, police need your help, if you have any information about either of these cases please, give philadelphia police a call. we are reporting live in southwest philadelphia, this morning, jan carabeo cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> and january we will get back to you shortly. new this morning, police are investigating an overnight shooting in north philly. just before 1:00 a.m., a man was shot in the leg at the intersection of north 22nd street and west susquehanna avenue. he's been taken to the hospital and is currently in stable condition. police do not have a suspect or a motive at this time. and, just few blocks away from that scene a 56 year old man is stabbed several times in the back and face. it happened on ridge avenue. he's currently recovering at the hospital. and police are still looking for the attacker. also happening now traffic is moving again. along the eastbound lanes of the vine street expressway, from interstate 76 to 16th street. they were closed overnight for prep work on four year project to replace bridges over i676. the westbound lanes of the vine street expressway. they'll close at midnight until 5:00 in the morning. prep work continues in the early morning hours for the rest of the week. and, let's check on traffic and weather together at this hour. 6:03. >> toyed look at that. >> what's it from white christmas, playing limb trombone here, too. right? "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo live at the scene of one of the hit and runs, in southwest philadelphia. that's where a four year old child was struck and killed. jan? >> natasha, that four year old little boy was hit by this suv just behind me here in the 1600 block every south 57th street in southwest philadelphia crossing the street when the suv hit him kept ongoing. police back out here on scene earlier this morning looking for any evidence, but they do have one big clue. surveillance video take a look, this video captured the terrible moment, that suv hit the four year old here in southwest philadelphia, we have paused that video before impact, because police want you to take a good look at the vehicle involved. it is a black suv police say fled north 57th street yesterday. freer year old boy died after crossing the street. now, later in the evening in kensington, another hit-and-run involving another child. this time police say a young mother was caring her two year olson in a carseat. across the 2700 block of mascher street, when both were hit. police found pieces of the striking vehicle's headlight at that scene surveillance cameras, were rolling too as witnesses stood by. take a listen. >> four door, white in color after striking the mother and son, on mascher street, the vehicle then made right turn, and was last seen west on lehigh avenue. >> so, police do have good descriptions of both of these vehicles, if you have any information, police want you to give a call, as far as that mother and child involved in that kensington incident, both taken to the hospital, critically injured we're told the mother is in critical condition, but stabilized this morning, her two year old son however still in critical condition. reporting live in southwest philadelphia, jan carabeo cbs-3, "eyewitness news". time for traffic and weather together. 6:33. >> good morning i just took a peak out on the skydeck while it may not a poor necessarily in our camera shot, all do you is stick your hand out the window and there you have it. it is starting to spit little bit of rain out there right now. so, looks can sometimes be deceiving. it actually looks like trying to be a little break in the clouds right now over center city but, nope probably seeing at least the cars driving right now down 16th street, or seeing couple of raindrops falling on the win shields. 62 degrees our current temperature at philadelphia international airport. our wind flow still out of the southwest, to keep the warmth in place humidity is climbing, as makes sense since we do have wet weather on storm scan, and, it is now starting to overtake most of our region, in more widespread fashion, so if you have yet to see the raindrops fall, it is really just matter of time. here's how it all shakes out guys. we are going to eventually see this taper off for the north and western counties of the lehigh valley, poconos even philadelphia, by 3:00 p.m. pretty much done for you. but for now, in the next couple of hours there will be showers out there. we will keep you in the mid 60s at best for daytime highs. southern new jersey, and all of the state of delaware, now that the rain is beginning you are kind of stuck with it for most of the day. justin? >> most common cause is a cold respiratory, and sign us symptoms often last seven to ten days. so people say doctor, i night antibiotic. no, no no. if it doesn't get better after seven to ten days then we consider bacterial cause r or gets worse high fever, good to speak to your doctor. do i need a prescription medication. most times it is a virus we can take care of it on our own. this time of year do you have allergies, it is important to talk to your doctor to control those allergies. soap this way your symptoms will be less. >> what do the medications do for you, doctor? >> shoot it in. then what happens it loosen the thick music so you can drain it betterment take warm shower loosen the mucus. if you have sinus pressure, talk to doctor about over the counter pain relieve tow help you buy you some time until your symptoms get better. >> i like to put moisture in the air like humidifier?
