the flyers and for hockey that was unmistakable. that passion shared with philadelphia started in 67 but hit a fever pitch with back-to-back stanley cups in the mid 70s, when he assembled the broad in west philadelphia. >> "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo is live in west philadelphia with the very latest, jan, what can you tell us? >> reporter: well, brooke, jim, good morning. we are coming to you live from the 1600 block of north redfield street, here in west philadelphia, this morning. homicide detectives are still on the scene investigating this here, all happened in the white car you see behind me, right now. now, we're told that police first arrived to the scene, because concerned neighbors called, they saw this car idling for what they call hours with this man just sitting in the front seat. they had no idea he was shot. when police arrived to the scene, they found the driver side window down, this man slumped, they pulled up his shirt and found he had been shot at least three times. now, police tell us that the officers who responded tried to revive the victim to no success. he was pronounced dead right around 2:15 this morning. so, homicide detective are now on the scene, on this case at this point there are no suspect or suspects. there is no motive for the shooting because, again, they responded to the scene because of a medical call. so, a lot of unanswered questions here this morning. police are looking in the area for surveillance cameras, there are couple of businesses nearby. they are speaking with family members of this person, as well, as some friends, too. so the car you see on the scene, that's where this victim was found. police tell us it is this victim's friend's car. they have identified him. they say's 25 year old plan. he lives on this block. they are not releasing his name, right now, and again, no suspect or suspects. no motive because they responded to this case because of an emergency medical call. so we will keep
