christmas decorations or heading out to get the christmas tree this weekend, looks great. nice looking forecast, compared to yesterday, much colder. check out the temperatures, 29 in allentown, reading, breezy in wilmington, some suburbs, look at that, mid 20's, quakertown, upper 20's in pottstown, so we will be scraping frost this morning compared to yesterday, nine, 15 degrees cold, so the cold dense air is settling in, good news is the winds are pretty much calm. so headed out the door for the morning work out outside it is just cold, so throw on that winter weather gear. at least not battling the wind. there you go, storm scan3 tells the story, clear, maybe get passing fair weather cloud this afternoon, overall comfortable conditions for december. so cool start, in the 40's still by 9:00. lunchtime around 50 degrees, and our afternoon highs will be above average, 54 for philadelphia, lower 50's at the shore, in the sunshine, even the mountains, not that bad. 49 degrees, for high in the poconos, gets even warmer for the second half of the weekends, we'll talk about that forecast coming up in just a bit. back to you. >> justin, thank you. new this morning, crews in collingswood, new jersey after car drove into the cooper river there. it happened around 3:30 this morning. police fire ems and marine units responded for report of overturned vehicle. two people were trapped inside the car but crews were able to free them, they are now being treated for minor injuries. the cause of the crash is under investigation. >> we're following all of the new development on the san bernardino massacre this morning, fbi now calling the deadly attack an act of terrorism. the fbi director also says there is no evidence that the married killer syed farook and tashfeen malik are part of terror cell or network but we know malik pledged allegiance to isis near the time of the attack. we got a look inside the home where the couple kept bombs and scores of ammunition, david spunt with new information on the investigation and also react to the suspect's family. >> to me it seemed like a bomb went off. >> patrick just left the room to use the rest room moments before authorities say tashfeen malik and her husband syed farook walked in and started shooting, shared a cubical with farook. >> i would try to reach out and that to him. i wouldn't get a response. >> was very isolated, introverted individual with really no friends that we could identify. farook family attorney david chestily says the shooting left family members in shock, we don't know much about tashfeen malik, the 27 year old from pakistan, and married farook two yearsing. >> we are going through a very large volume of electronic evidence. this is electronic evidence that these killers tried to destroy and tried to conceal from us. >> according to law enforcement sources, malik used all just and pledged her allegiance to abu baker, isis leader just before the attack. a law enforcement analyst told "eyewitness news" the post likely didn't raise an immediate red flag because it was under different name and posted just moments before the couple opened fire. officials have no evidence the attack directed by isis leaders. they don't believe the couple was part of terror network. we're now learning more about the 14 victims that died in the shooting. earlier today, governor tom wolf confirmed york county native harry bowman lost his life. he left for california more than 15 years ago. meanwhile, family, friends and survivors of the attack continue to mourn and process what happened. >> to do what he did, for preparation, you can't grab a gun off a shelf and run in there and start blasting people. >> the couple left behind a six month old little girl, authorities say, an unnamed person bought some of the guns used during the attack, though that person has not been charged. authority say more charges are possible in the case. reporting in the sat st center, david spunt, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". and as we mentioned, we're seeing inside the apartment of the massacre suspects. the fbi finished its investigation there and released the apartment back to the landlord. they left the media inside. there was food on the counter as well as crib and children's books. farook animal evening had year lease, the rent $1,200 a month. one of the landlords says the couple gave him no problems. >> usually the neighbors, if there is any problem, neighbors would let us know, or if association gives me a call. but i had no calls or plants or anything else. >> the landlord says he is afraid to open the garage that the couple had which is behind the apartment. it was searched by authorities. the suspect were allegedly building a stockpiling bombs inside that solve the murder of young man on thanksgiving morning. they think the suspects are also responsible for a robbery before the murder. cherri gregg from sister station "kyw news radio 1060" is live for us at police headquarters with the latest on that, cherry, good morning. >> good morning, nicole. philadelphia police released images from surveillance video that show two menus ago stolen debit card on thanksgiving day, the same day a 21 year old man was found shot and killed at a quiet neighborhood of port richmond. i am not afraid. say i am not afraid. not at all. >> lives in this quiet neighborhood of port richmond, but at 5:00 a.m. thanksgiving morning police found 21 year old ryan kelly around the corner from her home. police say he was found bleeding, with a gunshot wounds to the chest. >> don't know if this was attempted robbery or not. but if you point it seems like he was frozen shot by these males. >> two men shown in these images take friend surveillance video are linked to several armed robberies in the area. they are shown here trying to use a stolen debit card the same day kelly was murdered. >> they are armed and dangerous, i mean, the fact that they committed number of robberies, they are armed, they've commit add homicide. >> rest in peace, ryan. i was very upset about it, because i only live around the corner. >> neighbors say this murder has rocked their neighborhood. >> it is shocking. i mean, very quiet, blue collar neighborhood, and like there is crime anywhere in the city but any time you hear somebody getting their life taken it is real a shock to your system. >> philadelphia police have also recovered white vehicle that they believe has been involved. as with all homicides, there is a $20,000 reward. we have posted those images, on of impersonating philadelphia police and robbing people on the street. police arrested 48 year old terrence jacobi and 20 year old kelly rowland wednesday. they say the pair committed two separate robberies lack weekends, one at fourth and jock son streets, the other on the 1600 block every east passyunk. in both cases he allegedly displayed a fake badge. >> police are investigating a serious crash that killed one person and injured two other in new hanover township. the four vehicle crash happened yesterday morning, in the 2200 block of swamp pike montgomery county. three people were taken to the hospital yesterday where one woman later died. no word on the conditions of the two injured. >> a bucks county middle school teacher is undear test, he is accused of having inch appropriate relationship with 14 year old student. joseph becker arraigned in warrington, 30 year old is math teacher at penn ridge north. authorities say the girls parents notified them after their daughter told them she and becker had been sending explicit sexual videos and pictures to one another. beck is her charged with sexual abuse of children. >> well, happening today, the temple owls are shopping center. growing medical bills led them to be evicted from their apartment for unpaid rent. donations poured in from nearly 100 people guaranteeing them a home not just for christmas but for average, so, live look at the ben franklin bridge, nothing clear skies, so very quiet conditions. so let's talk about our weather headlines, what we expect, really, over the next several days. so sunny weekend, temperatures stay above average. we should be upper 40's, we will be in the low mid 50's today, and potentially up ear's tomorrow. looks like overall dry stretch. i'll show that you coming up in our seven day forecast, so still high temperatures above average. and it has been like that the past few days, go back to wednesday, high of 06 degrees, yesterday, 52, today, we will be in the low and mid 50's, tomorrow even warmer, now, looks like that stretch of mild air remains in our forecast, even into next week. it is cool in millville, 28 degrees at this hour, cherry hill checks in at 29, newark, delaware, good morning, 34 degrees, freezing at the atlantic city airport, similar numbers around philadelphia, surrounding suburbs, voorhees, one of the colder spots at 29 this morning. so there is a lot of frost out there. good news is winds are pretty much calm, maybe 5-mile per hour breeze out of the northwest, no harsh windchills. allentown, 29, quakertown, 28 degrees. you may drop another de grow or two over the next few hours but look look at much of the us, quiet, pretty rare for the wintertime. as we head to the heart of at least the middle of december, no big storm system coming up any time soon, may find few clouds later on this weekend, into next week, that's about it, high pressure in control. locks us into the sunshine today. holds our temperatures at or even above average. tomorrow the sunshine continues to even warmer, mid and upper 50's, into next week. looks like going to keep things dry monday maybe few more clouds return, weak storm system will pass by to the south. today though no threat of any rain, lot of sunshine throughout the afternoon. it will be chilly again tonight. lows drop down to the 30's, maybe some 20's again in some of the suburbs, clear skies, calm winds. but then another repeat with mostly sunny skies sunday afternoon, with temperatures rebounding nicely. so here we go today. looks like low and mid 50's, potentially, for most of the locations here across the delaware valley. this evening, if you are headed out, it get cold. have the heavier coat. mid 30's, in a lot of the northwest suburbs, to around 40 degrees for center city. and heading into tomorrow, check it out, well into the 50's, mid and i think some spots will hit the upper 50's, sunday afternoon, with the sunshine, and light winds. so, enjoy today. mostly sunny, milder compared to yesterday. 54 degrees, light wind out of the northwest at five to 10 miles per hour. tonight another cold night. thirty-eight the low for center city, potentially some upper 20's in the cold suburbs, and hanukkah begins tomorrow evening, looks good, clear skies, temperatures around sundown at 50 degrees. so, not bad there. look at this extended forecast, a lot of sunshine coming up through the weekends, up to 58 for the high sunday. few more clouds return monday and tuesday, that drops the temperatures a little bit. but there is really no true cold air coming at us, highs 50 tuesday, that will be the coldest day out of the next seven. by the ends of the week, nicole, looks like back to the mid and up ear's by next thursday, friday. >> not bad at all, justin, thank you. >> it is 5:17 right now. and an elderly couple was attack by a squirrel that got into their garage, and the battle with the animal actually sent them both to the hospital. eighty-seven year old richard williams was doing chores in his garage, when a squirrel flipped through the open door. now, all of the sudden that squirrel charged williams and started attacking, scratching him at his arms, legs, smashing his glasses. that's when william's wife norma tried to come to his rescue. >> norma heard me screaming. >> so i grabbed the broom and pick it up, and i guess i hit the squirrel with it. >> and then he jumped her. i was able to grab him by the tail, i threw him down on the garage floor. >> awful. neighbor rushed to the the husband and wife rather to the hospital. both got dozens of shots, including vaccines for ran east and tetanus, the same squirrel is suspected of attacking five other people in two weeks. >> cbs-3 health watch this morning, grocery shopping is getting easier for people who want to avoid artificial color. health reporter stephanie stahl tells us about some alternative to those food dyes. >> since becoming a mother, katie pays more attention what's in the food she buys for her family. >> i would read those ingredient list when is i went to the grocery store. >> since more consumers than ever prefer food from coloring from natural sources more food makers using fruit, vegtables, and spices for color. >> the trends of removing artificial colors is just in its infancy. it will get bigger. >> companies like kraft, nestle, as well as popular food chains like panera and subway, are using natural color sources, and general mills is removing artificial color sources from all it cereals. >> we're moving from the colors with numbers, that consumers might be used to like red 40 or yellow five, instead using colors from sources such as fruit and vegtables juices. >> consumed expert phil lambert point out that using natural pigment sources can be a challenge for food makers since fruits, vegtables, and spices can add flavor. >> they've got a recipe fortes that they want to keep. so it might take them a bit longer to finds a natural color that can achieve the same product description. the most important thing for a consumer to look out for is the free from claim. >> claims like no color from nottingham in san bernardino, california. coming up federal authorities are now investigating wednesday's deadly shooting as an act of terrorism. >> the san bernardino mass shooting has a.m. the investigation. >> fbi classified the holiday party massacre in san bernardino as act of terrorism. cbs news has learned that just before the attack, 28 year old tashfeen malik pledged her support to isis and its leader, abu al bagdaddy under al just on facebook. >> so far, no indication that these kill remembers part of an organized larger group or form part of cell. >> tells cbs news, no indication that the attack was ordered or directed by isis. malik and her husband, syed farook, ambushed and killed 14 people inside social services building wednesday. the farook family's attorneys, say, the couple did not appear to have extreme religious views. >> none of the family members had any idea that this was going to take place. they were totally shocked. >> investigators are analyzing electronic evidence including two smashed cell phones found in a garbage dumpster to learn more about the couple's motives. cameras were allowed inside the couple's home friday. hat, food, found near targeted the party. danielle nottingham for cbs-3, "eyewitness news". we have learned pennsylvania native died in the mass shooting. forty-six year old harry boman, formally of york. the father of two worked as a staff analyst for the san bernardino county department of public health. >> now, the bowman family issued statement saying in part this is a tragic lost for our family, much like it is for all families around the world who have experienced this kind of violence. there are no words that express our sadness and losing such a special person. we can only hope that these senseless killings seize. >> in the wake every wednesday's shootings, congress remains divided over gun control legislation. a series of measures were rejected on the senate floor on thursday. jessica dean has the details. >> democrats move to push new gun control legislation on capitol hill thursday in response to the recent mass shooting in san bernardino california. >> san bernardino shooting was the 355th mass shooting this year. gun violence has reached epidemic levels in the united states. >> the legislation would expands backgrounds checks to gun shows and on line purchases. prevent people on the terror watch list from buying guns or ammunition, and strengthen treatment for mental illnesses and substance abuse, but republicans easily defeated the proposals, marco rubio explained why on cbs this morning. >> what they're trying do now would not solve any of the problems, in fact, would impede the second amendment right of a large number of americans. >> for republicans, the massacre in san bern bean owe has less to do with gun control and is more about the need to fight terrorism at home and a broad. >> the fact of the mat is her these individuals would have passed expanded harrisburg this morning regarding the budget stalemate. governor tom wolf told pit burying newspaper that a proposed deal will include historic increase in education funding. lawmakers are also focused on state pension benefits and alcohol sales. they are expected to work through the weekends on that budget. >> well, some big changes are in store for a landmark hotel down the shore. the golden innn in avalon has been sold to chester based company that plans to transform it into luxury resort. here's "eyewitness news" new jersey reporter, cleve bryan. >> reporter: for more than 50 years, sure visitors have checked in avalon's goal end inn foresee side getaways, when the property sold this week to philadelphia based eye kona resorts, there may have been concerns about what would become of the block wide property. but today they invited us in to say the future is big and bright. >> they plan to invest more than $10 million to expand and upgrade the golden innn. >> this will be as it always was another level of luxury for the jersey shore. >> they'll completely renovate the hotel to include 155 luxury rooms, a 300 person wedding venue, and pool and beach bar they promise will be unlike any other at the shore. their owner has decades of family history in avalon, and has been identifying this property for 15 years. >> it was always his vision. there was no other place
