I wanna be around, girl i wanna be around, girl i wanna be around, sugar i need you baby made in hollywood the master of oldfashioned love stories is at it again, Nicholas Sparks brings another novel to the big screen, taking audiences on an epic romantic journey. I am a huge fan of Nicholas Sparks and i had seen the notebook a gazillion times so i knew it was all about chemistry. Made in hollywood if you can never find a perfect date night movie, then maybe you should take a look at the action horror romance mash up pride and prejudice and zombies. I didnt get it. I was like slightly mortified and five pages in to the script i was like its brilliant. I guess because we know and love the story so much. We are here on the red carpet for the premier of fifty shades of black. The sexy satire from Marlon Wayans. I was thinking, what if Christian Gray was black, he was rich but didnt know how he got his money, its a little shady and hes a really bad lover. This week on made in hollywood. Hey, whats up this is Marlon Wayans. I am lily james. Hi being i am Teresa Palmer. And i am ben walker. And you are watching made in hollywood. Made in hollywood. Made in hollywood. You are watching made in hollywood. Made in hollywood bestselling author Nicholas Sparks has had 11 novels made it in to movies. Including the mega hit the notebook. And now hes back in theater with the choice. What will have you wondering what would you go to a life of love. Hi being i am teresa pauler. And i am ben walker. And you are watching made in hollywood. And we hope you enjoy this clip from the choice. Now, Pay Attention because i am about to tell you want secret to life. Ready . The whole damn thing is about choices. I think its cliche where talk about chemistry and actors. But you two on film, your chemistry was so magnificent. Its just hilarious, its fun. I want to bottle it up. I mean, is there anything that you did, like is there any formula to it or was it just something that you guys just clicked . He just made me laugh. We laughed a lot. Yeah. And from the first moment as well. Because i was really nervous coming in to it. I am a huge fan of Nicholas Sparks and i had seen cleat the notebook a gazillion times so i knew it was all about chemistry. I was really nervous the final i met him. I am like what if we dont like each other . How will we do this movie together. Instantaneously he cracked some joke and i started laughing hysterically and that was it. Great thing about ben is that ben grew up in georgia, right . So he knows the south and he knows the cliches to avoid and there are often cliches in films about the south but ben is from there so he was able to pull that off. And shes just electrifying both on screen and then in person. And, you know, you put that together and it really works well. You saw why toms character would have been in love with her and you can see why he would fall in love. You kind of leave and wonder why every guy is not in love with her. Shes that good both not only on screen but in person too i think. The teasing and the laughing that you see between them, is really, you kind of get it. You get it. You are my new neighbor arent you. Yeah. I am travis. What are you so angry about . Your dog knocked up my to dog. I take fill responsibilities i have talked to him so many times about using projection. Oh, my god. I am kidding, i am kidding. The early meeting in the novel was very funny. The very first meeting between travis and gabby and shes very, very upset in this moment because of her dog. And something has happened to her dog and it was funny in the novel. And its really funny on film. Its actually funnier in the film. So i was so glad that came to light. We started at a place of friction, the first first team they immediate there is friction. Its so important to you that it completely turns your life upside down. Exact limb thats exactly right. Travis, this is ryan mccarthy, my boyfriends. Hi. Hi. Dont make a thing out of it. I know you. And my big brother does not like it when things dont come ease. I in if comes to your take tom, how does he make gabbys choice a little difficult between your character, dr. Ryan, and travis . And i am not giving much wait a minute because there is a whole bunch of choices throughout the whole fill. Film. I can tell you there was a group effort to do exactly that. Not play this character in a way that yeah, get rid of that guy. Why would you be with him . And i think that ben and i both make it very difficult for teresas character to make the choices that she has to make. Why are you making it so hard for me to flirt with you . If i made it easy wouldnt flirt anymore. What are you doing . Walking towards you a little slow. Why . Because if i ran i would scare you. Why did you do that . Because you bother me. This time around you are returning again to your roots of north carolina. I loved how this movie was shot. I thought it was so beautiful. I wanted to go to every place, including the ben and mary clinic. I thought it was beautifully shot. Not only as the producer but also as the author, what doesnt to be brought out in this film . I think the same thing that i always hope for in i film, in the end i hope its the best fill that many it can possibly be. To me thats really measured by how much viewers like it. Every breath you take leads to another choice. Come back to me, baby. Come bother me. Some choices could change everything. I should have been there. Its not your fault, trough. Its did you read the book first . No. No. No. Was that a professional choice . Sometimes do you have to make the choice where you dont want to read anything that your character may not have had been informed about anyway. When i was on smallville for 10 years i didnt look it the comic book or do Much Research about superman because i played clark kent and you doesnt know who superman is. Its a fro personal choice but a lot of times its timing. I didnt want to read it because i wanted to be committed to the version on the film. I knew there were subtle changes so i didnt want to be swayed in any way by the novel versus what we were trying to butt on film. So i read it afterwards. Same. Yeah. Same. Also i its so romantic and beautiful, it just remember me, whe wrecks me, when you reaa book you are like i am never going to be as charm as that guy on pa paper. It would be a lot of pressure. This guy i read is just so dreaming and i am not. Every moment of the rest of your life hangs on. Gabby. Jane austin never imagined her work with end up like this. Pride and prejudice and zombies takes one of the most popular novels in English Literature and injects it with a firm dose of martial arts, mayhem and the undead. It began with the black plague. Within weeks, the dead began to rise. This cannot be. Who would have thought that pride and prejudice and zombies. Its just such an awesome mash up and i totally enjoyed it. Yeah. Thank you. Yeah, who would have thought. When they approached you with this idea, what were your initial thoughts and reactions . [ laughter ] initial thought was like, yeah, i was like how could this work. And then i read the script and it just works. I didnt get it. I was like slightly mortified and five pages in the script it was brilliant. I guess because we know and love the story so much of pride and prejudice and the chacters are so strong and the lo s story so compelling you just enjoy seeing this story we love told in a different way. Hunting for human flesh. Now the few of us that are left have only one way to survive. We must bring the fight to them. You ban issued at the ball. I thought it would be civil of me to seek an encounter with darcy. I play George Wickham who is guess the first to see that he is a suitable for lisbon he had but then hes darcy nemesis. Darcy tries to intervene sort of in that love affair of mine. I play a rejected right, left, and center in marriage, and hes the local vicar, not particularly a good viktor. Hes hilarious. He is. The wisest choices be right here in this room. My daughters will change the battle. In the kitchen. You pretty much knew that he wanted to direct and write this story. What exactly did you envision in the very begin something. The project this been around for a while. A lot of people trying goad it going and had it different takes on it. I thought about it and i looked at it and it occurred to me that i knew how do it. On those rare occasion when his that happens you aggressively go forward and try to make it happen. I shall never relinquish by sword for a ring. The girls. Totally kick ass in this movie but what i really want to know is how hard it was to do those fight sequences in those gowns. The top has easy, bottom half i struggled occasionally. Yeah. I seem today manage to get things caught on my boot. Julien the Costume Designer did strategic slits so we could move our legs and stuff. But maybe i am just less graceful. It was refreshing to see the girls do it. Rather sexy as well. Yes. Its very sexy, true, watching the women take over and take the lead in this type of situation. Its something one sort of wants to see a little bit more of now. The challenge was great and our characters were so determined and strong with the challenge that i was facing as an actor trying do it all really kind of fed in to the character. Its all good. [ laughter ] i believe you did your own zombie research. What did that consist of . There was a documentary you can see on youtube which was i think they are parisian men who had been infected with rabies, and they studied them through the whole process of rabbieses. Its a really unsettles piece. But that was one of the models i used for zombies. And then another document roy people on meth. So i was thinking if we were to do a different mash up with a claims novel or classic movie novel, and then mix it with a horror film type genre, what kind of mash up would you make . Romeo and juliet and zombies. Romeo and jewel he had and zombies. I was thinking great gatsby and vampers, they had the parties. And vampers anyway. And they are actually sucking peoples blood at those parties. I have never thought about that. He could be great. Something could go along with that, keeping it, there is that and a bit of the dorian gray. Yeah. They sort of did i think in that sort of dorian grayesque they turned him with the visible man with gore january gray. [ inaudible ] which is the same type of thing with the league of extraordinary gentlemen. Yeah. I need to know why you wont have a real relationship with me . Lets just say my life wasnt always easy. On a scale of 1 to 10, the inning appropriate nature of this film, where is it . Made in hollywood made in hollywood made in hollywood made in hollywood right now on eye witness news denver domination. The broncos role past the panthers. Phillys own brandon mcmanus. Theres nothing like the thrill of watching a super bowl, but some people took it a step further tonight, placing bets on the game, from the point spread to who won the coin toss. Tonight we go inside the book i. The fans of the birds have a reputation for bad behavior, but some say eagles nation gets a bad rap. So which stories are actually true. Thats a good question. Nicole brewer separates fact from fix. We begin tonight with the denver dominating over panthers. The bronc owes didnt have much offense but they didnt need it. Their unstoppable defense crushed mvp cam newton. Don joins us from santa clara. Don you talked from a local player from our area who put up some big time points for the broncos. Reporter yes, i did. Guys, the confetti is still on the feel, but the denver bronc owes are in the locker room celebrating and that includes brandon mcmanus, their kicker. Heres his story. He went from district to north penn to a successful career at temple to now superstore at the bronc coast. He had 106 the first 16 points. After the game, i had a chance to talk to him in a chaotic scene. Its kind of the way its been a little bit this post season. I want to go out there and do my job. If it came down to my foot, i was ready for it. I wanted to bring this trophy back to denver. Hopefully i get back here again. Im going to enjoy this one and bring a ring back to north penn so they can all see it. Whats the plan . When are you going back to celebrate . Whenever i get the ring ill be the first one in the high school so everyone gets to see it and ill enjoy sometime with the teammates and well have some fun. Its undescribable. Im so excited for him. Brandon mcmanus, 24 years old and already a super bowl champion. S tea not the only guy with local ties who walks away a champion. Remember eagles guard evan mat is. Also a champion. Well hear from him later on in sports. Thats it from lee vie stadium. Don, well get back to you. 4. 1 billion worth of illegal bets were placed on tonights super bowl and thats according to the american gaming association. Book i is are behind many of the bets. They rarely give television interview, but tonight one of them takes us inside his world. It is illegal, but plenty of people do it anyway. I spoke to a local book and a betting expert and what they told me was quite revealing. Maybe its just the rush. A sports lover himself, this local book understands why some philadelphians bet on games. We agreed to conceal his identity because of the nature of what he calls his Side Business. A lot of my friends bet through me but my family doesnt really know. On average he says 20 to 25 people regularly place bets with him that typically range from 25 to a thousand dollars per bet per game. He says its all done through a website operated over cease. What about if someone cant pay or doesnt pay, what happens . Its not like the movies. I dont go and break their legs. If some than would doesnt pay up, i just dont take their bets anymore. Can you give me a ballpark about how much you can make doing this sort of work. I make an average week, 2 grand. Per week. Theres people that make a lot more. My best week this year was probably 5 grand. Do you ever get a moment where you worry, maybe im taking advantage of someone thats in over their head, maybe i shouldnt be offering this to somebody . Do you ever have that moment. I thought about it, but theyre going to bet no matter what, whether its through me or through somebody else. For you it becomes why not me . Basically, yeah. Despite the desire to conceal his identity, the legalities surrounding his Side Business dont really worry him. Feel like its almost accepted. People look the other way. Philly ross is a betting expert who sells his predictions online. Im there to help you beat the system, beat the market and just get you the best lines that i can possibly get you. Using his knowledge of sports, math and computer programing ross helps his clients avoid common mistakes, mistakes many die hard eagles fans often make. People bet with their hearts, they bet the favor, the overs. So they adjust to that. The book agrees, he says when it comes to betting, its business. Statistics, watch the line movement, watch where the money is going. Definitely not with your heart. Thats not the way to go. A little luck doesnt hurt even for the expert. The gambling guys, theyre a particular l bunch. Sometimes theyre on your side, sometimes theyre not. For super bowl 50, philly ross took the broncos, plus six. Very interesting. Were hoping the eagles will be playing in super bowl 51 because we know when it comes to being passionate philly is tough to top. Eagles nation has a bit of a reputation with the tails of a big bad birds fan. Our Nicole Brewer went on a quest to separate fact from fix. You know the accept station were talking about. This is a special super bowl sunday edition. We called in a few experts. I am a little biased. I consider part of eagles nation like ukee so we know the reputation so we had to ask. What in familiar must stories about eagles nation are actually true. Its a good question. Lets find out. Its the city of brotherly love so why is it when our eagles hit the field some say we lose our effects. If you want to come here and dodge ice balls. Do you think we deserve the kind of bad rap we get. Not really. The year was 1968, eagles versus the minnesota viking and santa clause. That was as bad a season as the eagles ever had. For analyst and football hall of fame when a 19 year old kid was pulled from the stands to fill in for a santa. It started off with one snowball and then another snowball and then exactly. Because he was it was a long time ago. Santa was wearing a green suit. That wasnt the real santa. I can tell you from having been there he wasnt a bad santa at all. I guess we chalked that one up as a loss for eagles nation. 20 years later, it wasnt snowballs, but cheap shots being thrown. Former pennsylvania governor ed remember del remembers the valley ball when ex eagle turned cowboys kicker blind sided by birds linebacker jessie small an order i ledgely given by coach buddy ryan. He did it. He got his players to play for him. I hope it was because i like the end result. You believe he put that bounty out there to get that player taken out. If you know buddy, that story has the ring of truth. Two for two. But lets fast forward to 2005, did donovan really toss the cookies on the field during the super bowl. Yes, maam. It looked like he pubbed. How many cameras are at the super bowl, nobody caught that . Right a whose from our sister station says theres no video evidence, but we did find an audio clip of former quarterback leo shepherd to says donovan did throw up in the huddle. When asked, merrill rhys defended mcnabb. That game was lost. Not anything that Donovan Mcnabb did. That helps clear up some eagles urban legend, but one thing remains in question, our reputation. Will we ever shed this image. Probably not. The people are always there. Now we just need a winning team to back the fans up. Next year, right . So according to our experts all of the infamous stories we just mentioned about eagles nation are, in fact, true, the snowfall with santa, at donovans super puke at the super bowl. If you bleed green the truth is none of that matters. When the birds hit the field were not anything but green. Whats your good question . We do want to know. Log on cbs philly to submit your good question or just tweet us good question. Nicole will be here with us every night. And we cannot wait to hear your good question. When it comes tot super bowl, the party isnt complete without the food. Theres one menu item that sells like hot cakes in this case pizza. Ive got to clean up. I hope you got a discount on that one. Seven its a of the price. No tip. Good stuff. Nice job. The forecast as we head into the work work. We have two storms were tracking and the threat of snow and one of the most brutal blasts of artic air weve had all winter. It doesnt sound good. Were talking about being plunged back into some nasty Winter Weather as we head up into the workweek. Take a look at whats happening. Notice two storms, one chunk just off the coast of the carolinas, but that one is a miss, but a miss nonetheless unless youre down the shore. It does look like that will brush the shore system with some rain or snow overnight. The one that will bring us a chance of snow is this one. A new coastal low that will throw some snow back into the region. Its kind of a disorganized pattern. You can see just offshores no moisture making it onto the coast but we do expect that that will back in to the west overnight. At 4 00 a. M. Some rain showers and eventually some snow showers. Just for the shore points. Nothing really further inland. It becomes all snow at 8 00 a. M. So youic what up from cape may all the way to new york city, philadelphia, not much, maybe a flurry if one of these happens to back far enough in. This is not going to be a big deal for us in the city t. The temperatures upper 30s down the shore. Not a huge deal with this system, but with all the moisture being pushed on shore we have a Coastal Flood Advisory for tomorrow morning and a coastal flood watch will go into effect for tuesday morning. A lot of coastal flooding expected as the system moves up the coast and pushes the water toward the shore towns and into the delaware bay as well. This is a pretty nasty storm system for new england. Not for us. This is what we call a big upper level low pressure system swinging down from the great lakes as it does show its going to throw back some moisture. But this is a very disorganized pattern, its not a straightforward pattern working its way up the coast so its hard to tell where the heaviest bands will set up. We have rain and snow showers and possibly a steadier band monday night and even into tuesday morning. We have the threat for some light intermittent snow onto tuesday. This is just an extended period of intermittent snow is that will impact us from possibly monday night all the way through the day tuesday. Rain and snow showers any time monday, i dont expect to see too much during the day tomorrow, and then snow starts late tomorrow night, light intermittent snow through the day on tuesday. Light accumulation is generally expected across the region. We dont expect too much in the way of snow, a general one to three much ines for the greater philadelphia area. Some higher amounts expected because of the combination of the two systems from new york city up through new england. The packers 2010 ring features the iconic lambeau feel and the trophy coming home. The design starts as a 3 d computer model. Then an actual ring is made for the teams owner to inspect. If the owner wants to add another diamond or put another lego on the ring, a new computer model is made, and a new ring is cast. Once the design is finalized, a mold is made for each of the 53 players on the team with their name and jersey number on the side. The team has the option to make more rings for their staff. A 1500 degree furnace melts gold pellets into a liquid poured into each custom mold. The gold is then carefully polished and painted so sections of the ring scan be soldered together. The super bowl halftime show was an allstar extravaganza with cold play, beyonce and bruno mars rocking the stadium. But halftime wasnt always such a high powered event. Reporter cold plays chris martin described the show as combination between the past, present and future. Well our story begins in the past, 50 years ago, with a little marching band from louisiana. Hey, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Reporter these college band mates havent marched together in 50 years. When we met up with them recently they hardly missed a beat. Fall out you had to bring your dedication each time, practice like you perform, and perform like you practice. Yes. Reporter it was their performance together in 1967, that would change history. That year, the commissioner of the National Football league invited grambling state marching band to play in their first super bowl. 129 men from a small Louisiana College marched alongside the university of arizonas band for millions of viewers. There was a lot of weight on our shoulders. A lot of times we didnt pay particular attention to the weight. If we went out on the field and did a show and it pleased the public then we felt that we had done our job. Reporter for the next 23 years, marching band were a super bowl mainstay. Then, in 1991, disney produced the halftime party. They chose the commercially successful boy band, new kids on the block. My world reporter two years later the king of pop, Michael Jackson moon walked for 100 million viewers. More people watched his 12minute performance than the game itself. And the era of the a list was born. Pop cultures national holiday. Its become the place in which you see not only the kind of highest form of competition in sport. Strike a pose and pop icons are affirmed. There is a real kind of sense of anything might happen. Reporter and anything did happen. As well as those who are cemented in our cultural imaginary. Reporter there is another moment cemented in americas imagination. Janet jackson and Justin Timberlakes wardrobe malfunction in 2004 set a new course for the halftime show. Complicated moment in super bowl history. It certainly changed the lineup of halftime performers for several years afterwards. Hey jude reporter super bowl 39, hosted a beatle. Into your heart reporter in 2009, it was the boss. Glory days one, two, three, four. Reporter four years later, beyonce on full display. Then rising star, bruno mars brought in the shows highest ratings yet. But none of the halftime steps or dramatic antics could have been possible without a group of teenagers from louisiana. Do you think the super bowl performances helped to raise the level of awareness people had about the university and its band . I dont think, i know so. Super bowl 1 launched the grambling bands legacy. They later starred in commercials. Played the super bowl four more times. And even inspired the 2002 film drum line. My not e is you dont know what you are in until you are out of it. The grambling marching band of today made possible by a trailblazing band from the past. Appreciate your interest. This is not a story. Reporter in the one interview he did sit down for this week, i learned Bruce Dehaven knows a lot more about what it takes to win at football. Than what makes an important story. In terms of what happened to me, if i only got a limited amount of time left, why would i want to spend it feeling sorry for myself . Reporter last spring at the age of 66, bruce was diagnosed with an incurable form of prostate cancer. Obviously, that diagnosis would have driven many people into retirement, but not bruce. In the end, i wanted to coach. Reporter why does coaching win out . I just love coaching. Coaching is teaching. For whatever reason, its in my blood. I mean ill probably cry after this ball game just because were not going to have another week of practice. Reporter in fact he loves practice so much he actually scheduled his cancer treatments around it. Never missed a single day of work all season. Some guys got to work for a living dont they . I find myself lingering after practice. Thinking about, i want to make a little picture here in my mind. In case i am not doing this soon. Reporter he knows this could be his last year. And given that perspective, you would think the super bowl itself wouldnt matter as much. But dont talk to bruce about the prospect of losing. I wouldnt want to think about that. Reporter telling me it Still Matters. Game Still Matters who wins and loses. We are in the same position. None of us are going to out of this alive. Reporter if you get out with the super bowl ring. Even better. Way better. Rip as you probably figured out by now bruce is and always has been one of the nicest guys in the nfl. Players like wide receiver, cory brown adore him. Like a grandpa to me. A guy that i care about. Reporter the difference is this season everyone has been going out of his way to tell him that. When lou gehrig said i feel like im the luckiest guy in the world.
