by tell us that -- >> new information tonight about a deadly shooting tonight involving sunny vale police and a homicide suspect. it happened this morning at a home on fair oaks drive when officers arrived to arrest glen griggs. police say griggs is accused of killing molly grimes. griggs barricaded him and ignored orders to put down a long gun. a gunman arm with a shotgun opened fire this afternoon at a small private christian university in seattle. it happened this afternoon at seattle pacific. a brave student managed to tackle the man and hold the man until police arrived. the gunman acted alone. they haven't released the man's name and say he wasn't a student. justice for a livermore mother who was killed at her home. today a jury convicted davis of second degree murder. the verdict prompted an emotional outburst in the courtroom. >> reporter: they waited more than a decade for justice. it showed on the faces of v ictims as they filed into the courtroom. the case nearly went cold. the wheels of justice sometimes turn slowly but turn they did. >> the jurors have reached a verdict, is that correct? >> reporter: it's taken four years. >> we find bryan allen davis guilty of a felony to with murder. >> reporter: the defendant 38- year-old the brian davis shook his head. his mother couldn't take the verdict. the judge ordered her out of the courtroom. >> get her out. >> yeah, please take me out. >> reporter: escorted out by armed deputies. cecilia garcia's father and now grown daughter sobbed. everyone the prosecutor choked back tears. >> it's true i'm getting emotional again. it's been a long journey for this family. >> i want the family to you know live every day happy. and hopefully, go about our lives and remember her in the good ways. you know and not have this on our minds so much. >> reporter: now a convicted murderer, davis who also goes by the last name of buolgamore was convicted. but for the family of a young mother who's daughter is now nearly as old as her mother was when she was killed the verdict is all they've got. >> it's been a really long time. closure. hopefully we get closure from it. >> reporter: the conviction carries 15 years to life. he'll be back in the courtroom june 15 for a verdict. taliban fighters released bergdahl on saturday. this is the video of the exchange. thed -- the administration says that it didn't talk to congress because there was concern. >> we were afraid that the special officers could have been in greater danger. >> reporter: some republican members of congress say they're skeptical about the threat to bergdahl's threat if there was a leak. one republican said they kept the secret about the u.s. going osama bin laden for months. the allegation of bomb making allegations continue today with another search of his san francisco apartment. fbi agents were looking for additional evidence. they say they found materials for making a bomb this weekend and are now testing a green powdery substance. an attorney who has an office in that building thinks the charges are excessive. >> it seems like they've got some items in ryan chamberlain's apartment which is directly behind me office. which i would expect to find at any guy's tool box frankly. >> reporter: chamberlain was arrested monday near the golden gate bridge. a judge has granted an arrest by chamberlain's public defender for a mental exam. ktvu's jana katsuyama is in san francisco to tell us the impact of this decision and also how drivers can still fight a ticket, jana. >> reporter: these red light cameras are here in san francisco along with many other bay area cities. people-- some people love to hate them. legally they have been the center of a debate as to whether the images of the data should be admissible in court. today's state supreme court decision makes that clear. it states that it upheld a law, the case was filed bid a southern californian woman. it argues that the cameras should be considered hearsay since no human was witnessing a violation. one law expert we talked to today said the ruling is important because it clarifies the use of the technology just as other technology such as breathalyzer, dna evidence and fingerprinting have had to be scrutinized in the past. defendants will still be able to challenge the red light cameras in court. >> if you can show there's a glitch or mechanical failure, or even a pattern of mechanical failures then you're going to be able to attack it. this doesn't mean you're never going to be able to attack. >> some cities such as san rafael and hayward have ended the use of red cameras because of cost. it's unclear if this ruling will result in any more cities turning to these red light cameras. reporting live from san francisco, jana katsuyama ktvu news. san francisco munni services is back to normal after a three day sick out by workers. munni tells ktvu, that included the cable cars and historic streetcars that run on market released, a jury found more testimony from when brian stow was beaten. the jury heard from two security guards. they testified they were sent to a different area even though that lot had reputation of scenario to see if she can win. >> reporter: oakland's ranked choice voting system could work against her this time. ranked choice allows people to vote for three candidates. the system helped quan win the race and will affect how voters will approach their vote. >> my goal is not to tell them that they're wrong. my goal is to ask them in their case for the number two vote on the ballot. >> reporter: 18 people are now running for oakland mayor. according to whitehurst only six have a real shot at the race. and it's the two contenders. foothill square shopping center in oakland was filled 40s in the cold spots then 50s. the fog forecast for tomorrow morning, there it is at 7:00 a.m. you can kind of see it. i don't think it's representing anything. you get a view it's not this big push alleged assailant will be suspended for five quarters but starting in the summer session. which means she says he will be allowed to get his diploma next week. >> he should have been removed from campus as soon as stanford knew that he had been found responsible for forcible sexual assault. >> reporter: in a statement stanford said we regret any circumstance where a student believes a process has not met their expectations. francis says she wants stanford to change its arp alternative review process. >> the name of this young man does not matter. it's not about my case. my case doesn't really matter anymore. it's not ant this guy, it's -- it's not about this guy. it's about changing the culture so students feel like they're not victimized again. especially by a school that they are paying to attend. >> reporter: francis says she was on track to graduate. but not nothing. she says she has taken reduced course work because she's been overwhelmed and depressed since the attack. san jose police announce seven arrests today in a cooper wire theft ring. the arrests were made yesterday. officers say they seized several thousand pounds of cooper wire, cash and a small amount of meth. the charges include paying for stolen material. look at that. last night the dog disappeared from the marina and that set up a big campaign to find her. as you see there both he and his dog were streets of oakland today calling for changes to speed up buses. new fare boxes are actually slowing down transit service. ken pritchett live in oakland to tell us exactly what they're complaining about, ken. >> reporter: ac transit has modernized fare boxes. we talked to folks who said for some communities the old ways worked better. >> reporter: the bus we wait for the number one line was 14 minutes late. that's nothing new for lundford. >> sometimes it's late for me that's why i leave extra early. >> reporter: they say buses are often late and they blame in part new fare boxes installed in january. >> because it's very slow. a dollar bill, anything that's not a stiff dollar bill will get pushed back to the passenger. >> reporter: city leaders joined riders and director mark davis accepted. beyond the new fare boxes, transit plans to phase out paper transfers. >> if you use your clipper card, how are you going to get them to reload your clipper. >> one of the issues has been getting access more widely. >> reporter: the loss of paper transfers, new boxes and the lack of buses impact the riders. >> it's never boring, not for me it's never boring. >> reporter: the riders say they will bring their concerns to the board on wednesday. w ednesday. they're asking for a delay of these clipper boards and more service where they live. communities for a better environment say the refinery exhibited negligence in 2012. the group claims the project will cause more pollution not less. it says a permit shouldn't be considered until the city of richmond finishes an environmental impact report. kings county and a group of people who live there have filed a lawsuit claiming the high speed rail authority violated the state's environmental quality act when it approved a 114-mile stretch of track between fresno and bakersfield. a spokesperson says the lawsuit is not about protecting the environment but about king's county trying to stop the $68 billion high speed rail project. we are just months away from the first 49ers game at levi stadium. officials are still working out how to get 70,000 fans to the game. a few weeks ago we showed you how some parking lots are more than a mile away from the stadium. now we're learning about a plan to get people to leave their cars in mountain view and take the light rail instead. john fowler explains how that could be a big boost for that city. for mountain view's light rail station it's a quick ride directly to that new stadium. as we reported, levi stadium parking has challenged many ticketholders face long walks. >> san francisco fans should be the first priority to get people who live in the city to be able to get to the stadium. >> reporter: they met this afternoon on a man to use these rail transit parking lots and other city parking up to 1,000 spaces on game day. plus caltrans is to put on different games. it could bring several thousand fans to bars and restaurants. >> it's usually good. weekends here is usually slow for mountain view. >> i think that mountain view we have a beautiful downtown with restaurants and bars that people could make their plans around coming in and grabbing a bite to eat and getting something to drink before getting on light rail. >> reporter: the big concern traffic and overcrowding. it may take a full season before the city knows how many fans would come. >> even prior to the stadium coming in, the city is concerned about crowding and parking in the area. >> reporter: fans today cautiously precautious. >> other wise it would be impossible to get to the game. >> reporter: this could cast the city for extra signage and extra police officers on game day. the plan worked out today goes to the city council in two weeks. in mountain view, john fowler, ktvu channel 2 news. organizers of super bowl l are also thinking about parking. many of the parties will be held in san francisco some 40 miles away. the super bowl committee has set up a transportation task force to figure out how to move fans and the host committee unveiled a new logo for the bay area. this is different than the nfl logo we showed you yesterday. verizon is engaged in a war of words and now lawyers are getting involved. verizon sent a seize and assist order. verizon also demanded that netflix prove its claim within five days or verizon would take other legal action. if dow jones hit getting the blame for more online crime. the data breach targeting californians. american express is notifying its card holders in california about data breach. amex says about 10,000 people may have had their information breached. american express says it first notified the breach -- it was first notified about the breach about march 26 and gave no reason on the delay on reporting this. they believe hackers in ukraine behind the group anonymous are behind it. tesla motors is being asked to build a plant in california. tesla ceo musk complained about the state regulations. daryl stei nburg introduced legislation so that it would create incentives. gm ceo mary ibarra told a meeting of employees that 15 people had been forced out of the company as a result. >> they represent policy, hopefully find a killer in the case. azenith smith sat down with his family to find out what happened. >> reporter: authorities hope this reward will give watkins family the answers they want. watkins was walking home from work just like i'm doing right now when he was killed. police believe it was a random act of violence. >> when i look at his picture, i just tear up. he was so young and he got killed the night before his 21st birthday. >> reporter: watkins senior never got a chance to celebrate his grandson's birthday, never got to take him fishing, never got to say goodbye. >> i keep saying, why did this happen. because he wasn't a violent child at all. >> reporter: his grandson justin moved from ohio to san jose february of last year. three months later he was gunned down. >> he was crossing the street this way. got shot in the street. >> reporter: walking home from work at game stop at oak ridge mall. >> what we're thinking is he was wearing the wrong colors. wearing that red game stop shirt. i think that may have been the single thing that got him in the biggest trouble. >> reporter: a year later the family struggling for answers. >> for no one to come forward. you know that's the part that's the hardest. >> reporter: this week new hope for justice an unexpected $20,000 reward from san jose police and the d.a.'s office to trigger someone's memory. >> our heart is jumping for joy. i couldn't believe it. >> reporter: the dance teacher and aspiring rapper leaving behind a now 2-year-old daughter. >> you wonder how many times she says where's my daddy. >> reporter: the family hoping one day to tell her the person who took her father's life is off the streets. >> the folks that did that need to, need to go on trial and stand up for what they did. because it's wrong to murder folks. it's just not right. >> reporter: as for the killer or killers in this case. the family says police used traffic cameras and witness statements to try to locate them. but so far nothing has panned out. live in san jose, i'm azemith smith, ktvu news. 16-year-old anthony cruz was stabbed to death near san jose high school in february of last year. if you know anything you're asked to call the police department's homicide unit at 408-277-5283. speed bumps have been installed on a street in oakland that's popular among speed racers. we reported on the problem of racing and side shows for a number of years. one drag racer told us the speed bumps won't stop them they'll just go some place else. this is one of many you tube videos we found showing the drag racing on seventh street. these races happen at night and sometimes during the day on weekends when the port isn't very busy. we've been told people sometimes sometimes bet $5,000 on a race. the beastie boys sued monster for using their songs on a promotional video. the rapper testified that he would never allow their music to be used for a promotional video. here's what's going on. you can see the fog as it sort of stretches down and compresses. with that fog at the coast we're expecting temperatures there to remain very cool. you see the marine layer compress. you saw it all day like can get kind of caught up here which basically means we're not going to see too much fog in the inland bay valleys. as you look pardon me as you look at the wind speeds 23-mile an hour winds in fairfield. gusting to 30 so it's pretty windy out there. as you look at the other winds south of here 8 miles per hour mountain view. 10 in san francisco. the fog is not going to go that far inland tonight. temperatures as you move through the microclimates you have numbers like mid-60s around the bay. or right inside the bay. then you are going to get into the low 70s. when you get into the warmest spots you're not in the mid- 90s. tomorrow or saturday and sunday temperatures really start to warm up. here's the storm tomorrow just like today. as we move into the bay area weekend. the high pressure shifts. the winds start to go offshore more. saturday warms a little more. mid-90s, upper 80s. and sunday perhaps getting into the upper 90s and low 100. san francisco 78 degrees. that's along the coast and check out pacifica 92. coastal sections less fog on sunday. the warmest day on the bay area weekend. so temperatures will be warming slightly. 87 in fairfield. a 90 in vacaville. 89 in walnut creek and 91 at pittsburg. these are the forecasts swráus like we had today. on saturday a little warmer. forecast highs on sunday a little warmer still which will end up being the warmest day on the weekend. here's your hottest day on the weekend right there. temperatures are going to make it up into the upper 90s. then even some low 100s. there you go. nice weekend day ahead. confirm to ktvu tonight there was a break-in at a printing shop that was handling evidence for leland yee and chow. it happened on may 25th that's the same day the u.s. attorney's office left evidence at that shop to be copied. yee and chow are facing federal fraud charges after a lengthy fbi investigation. the shops employee claims none of the evidence was stolen. but chow's attorney says he's concerned some of the evidence might have been compromised. we're working to learn more about the break-in and we will bring it to you on later newscasts. right now we want to talk about sports, mark by tell us that -- >> new information tonight about a deadly shooting tonight involving sunny vale police and a homicide suspect. it happened this morning at a home on fair oaks drive when officers arrived to arrest glen griggs. police say griggs is accused of killing molly grimes. griggs barricaded him and ignored orders to put down a long gun. a gunman arm with a shotgun opened fire this afternoon at a small private christian university in seattle. it happened this afternoon at seattle pacific. a brave student managed to tackle the man and hold the man until police arrived. the gunman acted alone. they haven't released the man's name and say he wasn't a student. justice for a livermore mother who was killed at her home. today a jury convicted davis of second degree murder. the verdict prompted an emotional outburst in the courtroom. >> reporter: they waited more than a decade for justice. it showed on the faces of v ictims as they filed into the courtroom. the case nearly went cold. the wheels of justice sometimes turn slowly but turn they did. >> the jurors have reached a verdict, is that correct? >> reporter: it's taken four years. >> we find bryan allen davis guilty of a felony to with murder. >> reporter: the defendant 38- year-old the brian davis shook his head. his mother couldn't take the verdict. the judge ordered her out of the courtroom. >> get her out. >> yeah, please take me out. >> reporter: escorted out by armed deputies. cecilia garcia's father and now grown daughter sobbed. everyone the prosecutor choked back tears. >> it's true i'm getting emotional again. it's been a long journey for this family. >> i want the family to you know live every day happy. and hopefully, go about our lives and remember her in the good ways. you know and not have this on our minds so much. >> reporter: now a convicted murderer, davis who also goes by the last name of buolgamore was convicted. but for the family of a young mother who's daughter is now nearly as old as her mother was when she was killed the verdict is all they've got. >> it's been a really long time. closure. hopefully we get closure from it. >> reporter: the conviction carries 15 years to life. he'll be back in the courtroom june 15 for a verdict. taliban fighters released bergdahl on saturday. this is the video of the exchange. thed -- the administration says that it didn't talk to congress because there was concern. >> we were afraid that the special officers could have been in greater danger. >> reporter: some republican members of congress say they're skeptical about the threat to bergdahl's threat if there was a leak. one republican said they kept the secret about the u.s. going osama bin laden for months. the allegation of bomb making allegations continue today with another search of his san francisco apartment. fbi agents were looking for additional evidence. they say they found materials for making a bomb this weekend and are now testing a green powdery substance. an attorney who has an office in that building thinks the charges are excessive. >> it seems like they've got some items in ryan chamberlain's apartment which is directly behind me office. which i would expect to find at any guy's tool box frankly. >> reporter: chamberlain was arrested monday near the golden gate bridge. a judge has granted an arrest by chamberlain's public defender for a mental exam. ktvu's jana katsuyama is in san francisco to tell us the impact of this decision and also how drivers can still fight a ticket, jana. >> reporter: these red light cameras are here in san francisco along with many other bay area cities. people-- some people love to hate them. legally they have been the center of a debate as to whether the images of the data should be admissible in court. today's state supreme court decision makes that clear. it states that it upheld a law, the case was filed bid a southern californian woman. it argues that the cameras should be considered hearsay since no human was witnessing a violation. one law expert we talked to today said the ruling is important because it clarifies the use of the technology just as other technology such as breathalyzer, dna evidence and fingerprinting have had to be scrutinized in the past. defendants will still be able to challenge the red light cameras in court. >> if you can show there's a glitch or mechanical failure, or even a pattern of mechanical failures then you're going to be able to attack it. this doesn't mean you're never going to be able to attack. >> some cities such as san rafael and hayward have ended the use of red cameras because of cost. it's unclear if this ruling will result in any more cities turning to these red light cameras. reporting live from san francisco, jana katsuyama ktvu news. san francisco munni services is back to normal after a three day sick out by workers. munni tells ktvu, that included the cable cars and historic streetcars that run on market street. there are at least 707,000 ballot that is have yet to be counted. turn out so far is estimated at 18.4% a record low for a pry may. be it could climb a bit when those outstanding ballots are released, a jury found more testimony from when brian stow was beaten. the jury heard from two security guards. they testified they were sent to a different area even though that lot had reputation of scenario to see if she can win. >> reporter: oakland's ranked choice voting system could work against her this time. ranked choice allows people to vote for three candidates. the system helped quan win the race and will affect how voters will approach their vote. >> my goal is not to tell them that they're wrong. my goal is to ask them in their case for the number two vote on the ballot. >> reporter: 18 people are now running for oakland mayor. according to whitehurst only six have a real shot at the race. and it's the two contenders. foothill square shopping center in oakland was filled 40s in the cold spots then 50s. the fog forecast for tomorrow morning, there it is at 7:00 a.m. you can kind of see it. i don't think it's representing anything. you get a view it's not this big push inland. they lows lows temp -- that allows temperatures to do this. you will see temperatures in the 90s and very similar to what you have today, tomorrow and yesterday. as we move into the bay area alleged assailant will be suspended for five quarters but starting in the summer session. which means she says he will be allowed to get his diploma next week. >> he should have been removed from campus as soon as stanford knew that he had been found responsible for forcible sexual assault. >> reporter: in a statement stanford said we regret any circumstance where a student believes a process has not met their expectations. francis says she wants stanford to change its arp alternative review process. >> the name of this young man does not matter. it's not about my case. my case doesn't really matter anymore. it's not ant this guy, it's -- it's not about this guy. it's about changing the culture so students feel like they're not victimized again. especially by a school that they are paying to attend. >> reporter: francis says she was on track to graduate. but not nothing. she says she has taken reduced course work because she's been overwhelmed and depressed since the attack. san jose police announce seven arrests today in a cooper wire theft ring. the arrests were made yesterday. officers say they seized several thousand pounds of cooper wire, cash and a small amount of meth. the charges include paying for stolen material. look at that. last night the dog disappeared from the marina and that set up a big campaign to find her. as you see there both he and his dog were streets of oakland today calling for changes to speed up buses. new fare boxes are actually slowing down transit service. ken pritchett live in oakland to tell us exactly what they're complaining about, ken. >> reporter: ac transit has modernized fare boxes. we talked to folks who said for some communities the old ways worked better. >> reporter: the bus we wait for the number one line was 14 minutes late. that's nothing new for lundford. >> sometimes it's late for me that's why i leave extra early. >> reporter: they say buses are often late and they blame in part new fare boxes installed in january. >> because it's very slow. a dollar bill, anything that's not a stiff dollar bill will get pushed back to the passenger. >> reporter: city leaders joined riders and director mark davis accepted. beyond the new fare boxes, transit plans to phase out paper transfers. >> if you use your clipper card, how are you going to get them to reload your clipper. >> one of the issues has been getting access more widely. >> reporter: the loss of paper transfers, new boxes and the lack of buses impact the riders. >> it's never boring, not for me it's never boring. >> reporter: the riders say they will bring their concerns to the board on wednesday. w ednesday. they're asking for a delay of these clipper boards and more service where they live. communities for a better environment say the refinery exhibited negligence in 2012. the group claims the project will cause more pollution not less. it says a permit shouldn't be considered until the city of richmond finishes an environmental impact report. kings county and a group of people who live there have filed a lawsuit claiming the high speed rail authority violated the state's environmental quality act when it approved a 114-mile stretch of track between fresno and bakersfield. a spokesperson says the lawsuit is not about protecting the environment but about king's county trying to stop the $68 billion high speed rail project. we are just months away from the first 49ers game at levi stadium. officials are still working out how to get 70,000 fans to the game. a few weeks ago we showed you how some parking lots are more than a mile away from the stadium. now we're learning about a plan to get people to leave their cars in mountain view and take the light rail instead. john fowler explains how that could be a big boost for that city. for mountain view's light rail station it's a quick ride directly to that new stadium. as we reported, levi stadium parking has challenged many ticketholders face long walks. >> san francisco fans should be the first priority to get people who live in the city to be able to get to the stadium. >> reporter: they met this afternoon on a man to use these rail transit parking lots and other city parking up to 1,000 spaces on game day. plus caltrans is to put on different games. it could bring several thousand fans to bars and restaurants. >> it's usually good. weekends here is usually slow for mountain view. >> i think that mountain view we have a beautiful downtown with restaurants and bars that people could make their plans around coming in and grabbing a bite to eat and getting something to drink before getting on light rail. >> reporter: the big concern traffic and overcrowding. it may take a full season before the city knows how many fans would come. >> even prior to the stadium coming in, the city is concerned about crowding and parking in the area. >> reporter: fans today cautiously precautious. >> other wise it would be impossible to get to the game. >> reporter: this could cast the city for extra signage and extra police officers on game day. the plan worked out today goes to the city council in two weeks. in mountain view, john fowler, ktvu channel 2 news. organizers of super bowl l are also thinking about parking. many of the parties will be held in san francisco some 40 miles away. the super bowl committee has set up a transportation task force to figure out how to move fans and the host committee unveiled a new logo for the bay area. this is different than the nfl logo we showed you yesterday. verizon is engaged in a war of words and now lawyers are getting involved. verizon sent a seize and assist order. verizon also demanded that netflix prove its claim within five days or verizon would take other legal action. if dow jones hit a new record high with a gain of 98 points. the nasdaq was up 44 but it is still well below it's all time high. renewed hope for an unsolved killing. >> i was jumping for joy. i couldn't believe it. >> what could bring fresh leads in the case. plus the high pressure system is going to heat things up from inland to coast. the part of the weekend that will be high. and next, the group anonymous is getting the blame for more online crime. the data breach targeting californians. american express is notifying its card holders in california about data breach. amex says about 10,000 people may have had their information breached. american express says it first notified the breach -- it was first notified about the breach about march 26 and gave no reason on the delay on reporting this. they believe hackers in ukraine behind the group anonymous are behind it. tesla motors is being asked to build a plant in california. tesla ceo musk complained about the state regulations. daryl stei nburg introduced legislation so that it would create incentives. gm ceo mary ibarra told a meeting of employees that 15 people had been forced out of the company as a result. >> they represent policy, quality, a disproportionate number of those who are no longer with the company were in senior roles or executive roles. >> reporter: gm also plans to set up a compensation program for the families of people killed or injured because of the safety defects. one other note, the report cleared barra of any wrong doing. she just became the ceo of gm back in january. tomorrow is the seventh anniversary of d day. tonight the commemorations began. fireworks were set off on the beaches of normandy france. some of the survivors have returned. one 93-year-old veteran said he's been there three times and four if you count the time they were shooting at him. nancy reagan made a rare public appearance today for the tenth anniversary of her husband's death. the 92-year-old former first lady arrived on a wheelchair at the ronald reagan presidential library. she was helped laying flowering at the grave of her husband. mrs.reagan brings flowers to her husband's grave every year on this anniversary. drag racing after nightfall. it's a problem people have complained about for years in this area. still ahead, the new effort to crack down. in five minutes, chief meteorologist bill martin complete been targeted. he got killed the night before his 21st birthday. new at 10:00, renewed hope to solve the killing of a young man a year ago. san jose police da's office office is offing a reward to hopefully find a killer in the case. azenith smith sat down with his family to find out what happened. >> reporter: authorities hope this reward will give watkins family the answers they want. watkins was walking home from work just like i'm doing right now when he was killed. police believe it was a random act of violence. >> when i look at his picture, i just tear up. he was so young and he got killed the night before his 21st birthday. >> reporter: watkins senior never got a chance to celebrate his grandson's birthday, never got to take him fishing, never got to say goodbye. >> i keep saying, why did this happen. because he wasn't a violent child at all. >> reporter: his grandson justin moved from ohio to san jose february of last year. three months later he was gunned down. >> he was crossing the street this way. got shot in the street. >> reporter: walking home from work at game stop at oak ridge mall. >> what we're thinking is he was wearing the wrong colors. wearing that red game stop shirt. i think that may have been the single thing that got him in the biggest trouble. >> reporter: a year later the family struggling for answers. >> for no one to come forward. you know that's the part that's the hardest. >> reporter: this week new hope for justice an unexpected $20,000 reward from san jose police and the d.a.'s office to trigger someone's memory. >> our heart is jumping for joy. i couldn't believe it. >> reporter: the dance teacher and aspiring rapper leaving behind a now 2-year-old daughter. >> you wonder how many times she says where's my daddy. >> reporter: the family hoping one day to tell her the person who took her father's life is off the streets. >> the folks that did that need to, need to go on trial and stand up for what they did. because it's wrong to murder folks. it's just not right. >> reporter: as for the killer or killers in this case. the family says police used traffic cameras and witness statements to try to locate them. but so far nothing has panned out. live in san jose, i'm azemith smith, ktvu news. 16-year-old anthony cruz was stabbed to death near san jose high school in february of last year. if you know anything you're asked to call the police department's homicide unit at 408-277-5283. speed bumps have been installed on a street in oakland that's popular among speed racers. we reported on the problem of racing and side shows for a number of years. one drag racer told us the speed bumps won't stop them they'll just go some place else. this is one of many you tube videos we found showing the drag racing on seventh street. these races happen at night and sometimes during the day on weekends when the port isn't very busy. we've been told people sometimes sometimes bet $5,000 on a race. the beastie boys sued monster for using their songs on a promotional video. the rapper testified that he would never allow their music to be used for a promotional video. here's what's going on. you can see the fog as it sort of stretches down and compresses. with that fog at the coast we're expecting temperatures there to remain very cool. you see the marine layer compress. you saw it all day like this. as you look offshore you can see the fog. the air will come in just a little bit closer here. there it is. you can see moving now across the bay. this fog as it moves into the east bay hills you can get kind of caught up here which basically means we're not going to see too much fog in the inland bay valleys. as you look pardon me as you look at the wind speeds 23-mile an hour winds in fairfield. gusting to 30 so it's pretty windy out there. as you look at the other winds south of here 8 miles per hour mountain view. 10 in san francisco. the fog is not going to go that far inland tonight. temperatures as you move through the microclimates you have numbers like mid-60s around the bay. or right inside the bay. then you are going to get into the low 70s. when you get into the warmest spots you're not in the mid- 90s. tomorrow or saturday and sunday temperatures really start to warm up. here's the storm tomorrow just like today. as we move into the bay area weekend. the high pressure shifts. the winds start to go offshore more. saturday warms a little more. mid-90s, upper 80s. and sunday perhaps getting into the upper 90s and low 100. san francisco 78 degrees. that's along the coast and check out pacifica 92. coastal sections less fog on sunday. the warmest day on the bay area weekend. so temperatures will be warming slightly. 87 in fairfield. a 90 in vacaville. 89 in walnut creek and 91 at pittsburg. these are the forecasts swráus like we had today. on saturday a little warmer. forecast highs on sunday a little warmer still which will end up being the warmest day on the weekend. here's your hottest day on the weekend right there. temperatures are going to make it up into the upper 90s. then even some low 100s. there you go. nice weekend day ahead. warmest day to be sunday but the weekend looks like a winner throughout the bay area with less fog than we've seen all week. >> man it looks great. >> yeah. >> thanks bill. san francisco police confirm to ktvu tonight there was a break-in at a printing shop that was handling evidence for leland yee and chow. it happened on may 25th that's the same day the u.s. attorney's office left evidence at that shop to be copied. yee and chow are facing federal fraud charges after a lengthy fbi investigation. the shops employee claims none of the evidence was stolen. but chow's attorney says he's concerned some of the evidence might have been compromised. we're working to learn more about the break-in and we will bring it to you on later newscasts. right now we want to talk about sports, mark
