[ indiscernible ] >> there is nothing to do outside. >> we gee the parks but it is a rainy day. >> reporter: the wet weather, especially after a dry spell meant slick roads. this truck slided with a tow truck this afternoon. chp officers say weather was partly to blame. and officers did tell us they saw more collisions than normal today and now is a great time to double check your tires, windshield wayers, make sure everything is working -- wipers, make sure everything is working as we will be expecting more rain. >> thank you. police say a musician was the innocent victim of gunfire. the 26-year-old man was carrying equipment out of the bar near city hall after 1:00 a.m. this morning and a man was shooting at someone else and hit the muization. the man who -- musesition. a man who -- musician, a man who was walking by was also hit. police in contra costa county are investigating a homicide. officers were called out before midnight last night to a large fight that was reported at a home. investigators arrived and found a 27-year-old man suffering from a gun shot wound. he was pronounced dead. there is no word tonight on the identity of the victim. the medical examiner is working to confirm the identity of a mummified body found in a home in richmond district. a body was discovered in the house on 4th avenue and lake street. police stay is possible it is the elderly mother of a woman who was taken acay because she hadn't -- away because she couldn't care for herself. authorities say a couple wanted for questions in connection with the death of their three-year-old child could be hiding out in oakland or los angeles. police believe they are on the run with five children. this after the couple's three- year-old daughter was found dead thursday in their las vegas home. police say for months the girl was left in the care of her 17- year-old center who has now been arrested for wild abuse and -- child abuse and whose own daughter is hospitalized because of malnourishment. an off duty firefighter is credited with stopping an attack this morning. investigators say a woman sprayed lighter fluid on another person and the woman attempted to light the woman on fire. the firefighter tackled the suspect and called authorities. the suspect tried to burn down a house on the same street. b.a.r.t. is warning riders about delays due to repair work that is being done on the tracks. there is no service today between the fruitville and coliseum stations. b.a.r.t. workers are replacing 1,000 rail ties and 3,000 feet of rail. new switches are also being installed that allow trains to go from one track to another. this will remove the need slow down trains. b.a.r.t. is running a bus bridge. there is no additional charges. there could be 30-60 minute delays delays delays and some customers are frustrated. >> nobody wants easter sunday interrupted but these are critical repairs. >> b.a.r.t. says this will take 11 weekend of works and will be done by august and they are working working with the bars andase -- the warriors and a's. people marked easter in many different ways. ktvu's cristina rendon shows us how some started their celebrations that crack of dawn. >> reporter: atop san francisco's highest peak, easter sunday began with a sun rise service. they traveled from san diego to celebrate the holy day. >> i feel like i am in a magical place. so beautiful up here. beautiful view of the city. i feel privileged to be here on easter sunday, praising god. >> reporter: this marks the 93 year people gathered as they delivered an easter message. >> he will raise up his nation and we praise him today. >> reporter: in the spirit of love they continued their charitable history. serving free easter meals to those in need. it wouldn't be a true celebration in san francisco without whacky and fun events, which is why dozen turned out to the parade and spring celebration. >> they put candy in your backt. . life -- basket. roth reports it took a painstaking investigation to find out what happened. >> reporter: may 7, 1964, before 7:00 a.m., pacific airlines flight was on its way from rene tee sfo when -- afternoono to sfo -- reno to sfo when something went wrong. . >> saw this big explosion. oh, my god, a plane crash. >> reporter: there was no one to rescue. all 44 passengers and crew members were killed, including the pilot, a man others revered and still do to this day. >> he was the best. everybody wanted to pattern him selve after ernie. smooth. >> reporter: what happened -- themselves after ernie. smooth. >> reporter: so what happened? >> the plane actually went in at a steep angle. so as you look that accident site you could see the outline of an airplane and there was a center where the cabin was. he listened to a tape from the oakland air traffic control center. it is a final message from the co-pilot. almost impossible to interpret with the naked ear. [ indiscernible ] >> reporter: after a painstaking search, a contra costa county sheriff's deputy found a .357 magnum and traced the name of the owner and then investigators located something else. >> we found the hand of the owner. now we had the hand and we had the gun. and could put him on the airplane at that time. >> reporter: authorities linked the hand and the gun to a man. he was on the 1960 olympicuating team and then had -- olympic yachting team and then had financial trouble. bought crash insurance and a hand gun. the fbi's investigation conclude after a night of gambling he boarded the flight, waited till it was minutes from landing and walked into the cockpit and shot the pilot first and then the co-pilot and then himself. his daughter who became a commercial pilot was 15 years old when her father died. she said the results of the investigation put to rest any rumors. >> at the time i was relieved because i had the media saying he was distraught. his wife died a year earlier. i said my dad would never do that. >> reporter: after the crash the government required cockpit doors to be locked from inside. since september 11, doors are now more heavily reinforced. francisco intersection will be shut down over the next few months for construction. crews are working to build a pedestrian tunnel for the new sutter health campus. starting tomorrow through wednesday ban moved through this morning. as far as the current temperatures, 50s out there to report. cool. san francisco 55. santa rosa 58. walnut creek 57. livermore 57 degrees. the weather pattern, the first part, the front moving across the bay area, the main part will have the unstable air. that moves in late monday night and tuesday. here is the cloud texture here. the unstable air approaching the region. we talked about lower snow levels in the bay area, 3,000 feet, tuesday morning, this will be a stronger storm. rainfall expectations a half inch to over an inch approaching inch and a half. these numbers will change but the model producing these numbers through tuesday with san francisco, .66. concord three quarters of an inch. the coastal hills over an inch. heard about the snow in the sierra. looking towards interstate 80. they have the winter weather advisory in place right now till midnight and with the stronger system, already a winter storm watch for monday night, through tuesday night with snow fall totals 6-15 inches. possibly over a foot and snow levels coming down to 3,000 feet. very productive. that could help us out a little bit with the water supply. future cast, 9:00, we cannot rule out the chance of a pop up shower during the day on monday. by 5:00 p.m. the best chance of rain is in the north bay. 9:00 p.m. the rainfall does pick up. you can see
