possible merger. time warner owns hbo, cnn and several other capable channels and the movie and tv studio. the deal would give at&t a wide range of new programming to offer its customers. time warner shares went up 5% yesterday on this report. the company hs no comment about the report. also buyer bayer. some genuine apple products for sale on sam dison may really be knockoffs. it's been buying what is advertised as apple chargers about 90% of them are fake. the disclosure is part of a lawsuit against mobile star. apple says the company printed the apple lo go on its own inferior products accident is before that. and the traffic on 80 looks good and also the traffic on 680 after the junction that looks good on the county. the bottle neck is at the crash near the scales only 80 in incidents happened at schools in san carlos. we're at one of the schools this morning with the story. >> pam we're here at central middle school and this is one of the spots where the man was seen and police want to make sure that things don't es clait. they released this sketch of the person of interest. he's a white man, 60 to 70 years old. a gray and white medium length hair and driving a new model four door she dab. deputies said on september 20th the map was loitering around the campus of identity white oak el less than tear school. they kept trying to approach him but he kept ignoring them and finally walked away. five days later a than with the same description drove town a 14-year-old juvenile and he offeredded teen a ride. when the teen declined he kept encysting. the juvenile said he could 9-1- 1 and that's bht man drove off. it's unknown if the man in both cases is the same person. deputies want people to call them if they spot this man in the sketch or witnesses anyone tried to lure a female student into his car. this happened about 8:40 wednesday night in the parking lot of deanza college. she was walking to her car. she said she should not be walking and told her to get into his car. she was able to get to her own car safely. he was drive a black four door bmw with heavily tinted windows. all onsite social activity vns suspended of uc berkeley after several reported sexual assaults and other crimes. to the most recent sailts were reported last weekend and allegedly occurred in california fraternities. now according to the daily cal the greek organizations plan it meet tomorrow to talk about how they can improve safety for all students. until that's resolved new york city parties or activities will be allowed. >> well the interim police chief tony chaplan has -- involving mental ill people. the chief took part in a town hall meeting about the incident where a mental disturbed man shot and critically wounded police officer kevin downs. about 75 people were at that community meeting. they saw a photo of his pntd 22 caliber gun. they exchanged gunfire with him at stern grove park. he later died from his injuries. >> when they were fired upon and fired back, soonlsed fire -- the back and forth died down, they reassessed and withdrew and waited for the special operations to come in. >> officer is beginning physical therapy. he has began used of his arm but he's still paralyzed in the right leg. >> it recorded when he was shot but investigators say there's no video of the police shooting him. >> arrested four young men accused of severely beating a man one week ago. >> police say last friday just before midnight they responded to a report of a disturbance on a trail near walt disney elementary school. when officers arrived they found a man who had a broken nose a fractured cheekbone and several cuts and bruises. the man said he had been beaten by four young men after confronting them as they were making a lot of noise. they were able to identify the four suspects and arrest them. >> a rare public apology from a young man who defaced a war memorial in danville's park. >> this is all part of a deal that jared made with the dishonor's officer after that memorial was vandalized last june. we talked to some of the veterans who were at a meeting looking for cloi sure. >> about 50 veterans and their families came to the memorial building in danville looking for closure to a crime they wished never happened. >> as a veteran you have a real sense of pride and somebody does something like that, it's very hurtful. we're willing to forgive. >> last june the all war memorial, a memorial that honors the sacrifices of hundreds of veterans dating back to the revolutionary war was found vandalized. some of he's looking forward to getting back on his feet. >> 5:38. the 88-year-old san jose woman was laid to rest yesterday. her funeral was at st. paul missionary baptist churming where she taught sunday school. family members and friend describe her as a pillar of her church, a community and a loving neighbor and independent woman. she never recovered. she died in the hospital from her injuries. a some stop and go traffic on 580 westbound as you drive to the pass. you will see the traffic is going to be busy as you drive through here. although it is not as slow as it would be let's say on a wednesday. just a little bit better. when you get to the bay bridges those metering lights have been switched on a little bit of a backup here. maybe a little less. once you make it on to span it looks good and in san jose we don't have any major issues for the silicon valley commute. and really a lot of the incidents that we had had been cleared up on the road. a nice quiet start for the friday morning. it's 5:48. let's bring steve n. good morning on this friday. fog is ever so slowly trying to get back to the coast. highway 1 could have some visibility issues. otherwise too shallow to make much of an expwact. it's going to school down closer to the beaches. still close to l 0 but down a couple of degrees compared to yesterday. not much of a breeze at all and still a slight component of an onshore. some that fog should start to work its way. it's under so it's very shallow. still kind of holding off. down 4 for santa rosa. down 7 for the city. get that fog. i saw 79, 83. i split the difference. 81. down a bit. 82 to 79. frisk 70, pretty close to that but wof by 4 on the lull. 88, 1933 is record high. 79, 55. average is 74/52. 98, 1903 and 30, way back in 1893. low
