that is a sign we will warm up quickly unless you were in the fog. if you are it will be in the 50s and 60s. patchy fog. warm to hot and warm inland. it will be nice along the coast. we do have the tracy commute . there is some slow traffic there. traffic is going to be slow as you come through the tracy area which is not unusual. the trib on 205 is getting busier as well as you drive onto highway 580. we have some slow traffic there. i want to mention traffic will be okay once you make it to the hayward area, i'm sorry, to the livermore area. traffic is not bad as you drive through the pleasanton area. let's go to the bay bridge toll plaza. a decent commute getting into san francisco. if you are driving onto 80 in san jose, that commute looks good. two are under arrest in connection with a deadly shooting yesterday and he would area. alex savidge is in the studio with more on the investigation there is a key piece of evidence authorities are searching for. >> reporter: investigators were able to make those arrest in this case but they are trying to find the gun they believe was used in yesterday's killing. this shooting happened in broad daylight around 1 pm. this is in an unincorporated part of alameda county near hayward. shirts investigators say the shooter walked into a red pickup truck and opened fire on a man sitting behind the wheel who was waiting for the light to change. a man shot eventually died from his injuries. sheriff's deputies searched for the shooter using k-9 units and a drone. the suspected gunman was eventually captured nearby but did not have the gun on him. >> it is a public safety concern to have a weapon on the loose. obviously it is evidence of vital importance to us. >> reporter: authorities say they made a second arrest later in this case. surveillance video showed investigators that an suv had dropped off the gunman just before those shots were fired. investigators were able to track the suv and took a second woman into custody in this case. two are in custody but sheriff's deputies are searching for the gun. they are also trying to figure out what the motive was. new developments in the crash in vallejo that sent one person to the hospital. chp said a santa rosa woman and two children were hurt in the crash. this happened at 6:45 pm on the westbound side of highway 37 at the sonoma boulevard off ramp. early reports suggest six cars were involved in a chain reaction crash. now chp said it may have been one suv that hit a concrete wall. the driver was airlifted to the hospital with major injuries. two children were hurt. that area is open again this morning. a chp motorcycle officer was hurt while responding to a pursuit and solano county. 130 afternoon, the officer crashed while heading eastbound on interstate, the officer crashed while heading eastbound on interstate 80 in the american canyon exit. chp said the officers suffered moderate injuries but is expected to recover. he was taken to the hospital by helicopter. olt eastbound lanes of interstate 80 are closed for 2.5 hours. oakland police and federal agents are investigating one store burglaries in northern california. a honda crv used in one burglary was linked to oakland. surveillance video shows a burglary suspect wearing an oakland usa sweatshirt during a break-in early yesterday morning. the video shows the faces of three of the burglars. the thieves made off with 15 guns. one happened less than an hour later and a few miles away. >> to have someone just think they can just take it. it really bothers me. i've worked hard my whole life. >> officers spotted the same suv used to the rocklin incident in east oakland yesterday. atf agents, chp in oakland police detained several suspects. that all charges could carry longer sentences if suspects are convicted. those of burglaries follow seven incidents in northern and central california gun stores in the last five months. they include thefts in the bay area, sacramento and central valley. the suspects caught yesterday will likely face penalties but in california it is usually a misdemeanor to steal a gun and not a felony. it depends on how much the gun is worth. $950 is the cutoff point. more than that is considered grand theft which is a felony. less than that, hedy theft, a misdemeanor. two guns they do the same thing could have a cost difference of hundreds of dollars and have different penalties it stolen. >> if you steal a gun, what purpose do you have for it? francisco. i can't find any over the bay. the golden gate may see some in the next hour. so far it is solid. san mateo, santa cruze coast and the monterey peninsula, a little bit right there. other than that, it will not help anyone inland. it will warm up fast. temperatures starting in the 50s. there is a northwest breezes at the oakland airport. if we had an east breeze ice everyone would be in on this. mid-60s for some and low 60s for other. above calistoga, almost 70 degrees. 50 in mill valley. in bodega bay, 50. fog will retreat. it may hang on for a while in san mateo and the santa morning, everyone. if you are driving in solano county, you will see that traffic between vacaville and fairfield is looking good all the way to vallejo. yesterday we had a terrible commute with a big rig crash. that has been cleared. traffic is moving well. let's go out to the bay bridge toll plaza. the metering lights have just been turned on. this is a five-minute delay before you make it onto the span. if you are driving on to the san mateo bridge, traffic looks good over to the peninsula. let's go back to the desk. firefighters in san jose are investigating a grass fire that earned 10 acres early this morning. janine de la vega joins us with what crews think it may have started the fire. >> reporter: they don't know. one of the fire captains was saying perhaps it was accidental because there are no homes nearby. we are up on sierra road. you can see the entire city behind us. you can also see the black area down there. that is the 10 acres that burned. that does go over the ridge. right now there are fire crews here. they are making sure no fire sparks back up again. they will be here all morning long doing mop up work. let's go to video of what does look like early this morning. this started at this started at 2:30 am on sierra road. they think a bystander called this in 2911. when firefighters arrived, the fire had jumped the road. it was burning on both sides of the road. there was a lot of concern -- they were worried that since it was burning downhill it would reach alan rock park. it did not. they called in 70 firefighters from cal fire and san jose fire. there were bulldozers appear. they brought up water tenders because there are no fire hydrants in this area. after an hour they were able to cut a line around the fire and contain it. they are not sure what the cause was and they are not sure if they will ever find that out. there is a lot of dry vegetation here. a lot of fuel for a fire to ignite. one thing the fire captain said was that had this happened during the daytime hours when they were hotter temperatures and wind, this could have moved a lot faster. and it could have endangered structures and people. that did not happen. they were able to get a handle on it. they will stay on scene for the next few hours to make sure that nothing sparks back up. back to you. firefighters in antioch have contained a small grass fire burning near a neighborhood . contra costa county fire set it started before 9:30 pm last night at the end of dallas ranch road. that fire was contained to one acre hunting minutes later, no word on any damage or injuries. the first wave of san jose police officers wearing body cameras are on patrol. this is a historic moment for the department. police officers had several hours of training yesterday with the cameras. community groups say the cameras are a step in the right direction for improving relations with the police. police watchdog groups are concerned about department protocols which have not made it clear as to whether the public or an oversight board would review camera video of a disputed confrontation. >> i think it's a good thing. i commend the department for bringing forward this idea. i think it's something that can help clarify and help us learn what happens when there is interaction between the police and the person on the street. >> watchdog groups are concerned about that and hopefully they can clear up any confusion about whether an oversight group would review camera video of a disputed confrontation. a san francisco police officer being investigated for a deadly shooting is no longer part of the unit working on police reforms. sergeant nate steger was one of two officers shot and killed a homeless man in april. police say the man was holding a large knife at the time. at last night's police commission meeting, the victim's family expressed concern and they are not happy that the officer was on the policing standards bureau. acting police chief toney chaplin said the sergeant voluntarily transferred out of the bureau. a local warning about fake guns. the santa clara police department said it's officers have been called to a number of incidents where people are using fake guns. we have video of one of the guns seized by officers. police say this can be dangerous since officers have no way of knowing whether a gun is real or fake. >> it is extremely dangerous. they are reported to us as a man or person with a firearm. the officers need to believe that this weapon is real. often times we get to the scene and they are a replica weapon. it is virtually indistinguishable from a fake weapon. >> police say it if you own a fake a gun, do not bring in public. if you use it to play games, keep it in a case. if you are asked by law enforcement come up with the fire arm down and tell them it is fake. there are concerns in a san francisco neighborhood after someone left what appears to be recruiting flyers for the ku klux klan on doors. we were given a copy of the flyer. this is what it looks like a claim the black lives matter is telling people to kill white people and police. the kkk is the only organization standing up for whites. neighbors say they were surprised by the flyers. >> i was shocked. i did not expect to see anything like that here. >> it is horrible. some of what has something like that out there. it does not seem like it would help -- sold something. >> they are a dying breed. i'm not sure they would get a lot of new recruits. i just laugh it off. >> san francisco police say they are aware of the flyers but say it is not against the law to pass them out. the state parole board rejected the release of a killer whose murder led to the creation of a crime victims group. april panel ruled that stephen byrnes should stay in valley state prison. in 1979, he killed and ex- girlfriend on her first day at the university of pacific. he was sentenced to 17 years to life. that murder cause the victim's father to form a crime victims united of california. that wrote victims rights into the state constitutions. a man from stockton is recovering after being stabbed several times in a brentwood neighborhood. the victim told them he was approached by three men on homecoming way yesterday morning. there was an argument and the victim was stabbed twice in the legs and once in the back. if you have information, call brentwood police. two security robots at the stanford shopping center will stay on their charging pets this morning after a san jose woman said a robot ran over her toddlers foot. the company has apologized but said the video shows its robot did not went over the child. the company in the mall are investigating what happened. the mountain view-based manufacturer reviewed video footage and said the child ran into the security robot. >> the child came in, looking back over his shoulder, he hit the machine. >> that is not true. it hit my son's head. he has the bruises. it's swollen. >> the boy's mother said the camera angles on the robot may not have captured the full story , saying her son bump the robot then it rained over his foot. it is unclear when the robots will be used again. a tentative agreement has been reached between the city college of san francisco and its faculty union. the examiner reports negotiators took a year to reach a deal. a mediator was brought in. both the college and the union reached an impasse. the examiner said the proposal includes an 11% salary increase for faculty members over three years. further details on the agreement have not been released but we may find out more about it later today. there is a labor dispute at the radio station that broadcasts the san francisco giants games. union workers at knbr are asking the radio station owners, cumulus media, for salary increases. on-air talent want to be paid $30 an hour while behind-the- scenes staff want at least $17 per hour. the union told the chronicle a station has countered that with $13 per hour which is the minimum wage in san francisco. there has been no comment from cumulus. after delays, california textbooks are getting closer to including lgbt history. state lawmakers passed a law four years ago that would require the inclusion of these people used in california public schools. up until now, its implementation has been slow to two attempts to overturn it. today, the state board of education will review the lgbt curriculum and topics that will be taught in elementary and high schools. to include discussions about lgbt families and lessons on california's gay rights recovering addicts. local media reports say the sign in front of the sunny acres ranch is a stop on pokimon go. the founder of pokimon go said no players have shown up at that site and he does not want people to go there. there are questions as to how the poke stop are determined. many of the stops were submitted by players of an earlier game of the developer of pokimon go. tesla introduced a cheaper version of its model x crossover. tesla will deliver this in september. the price tag start at $74,000. that is $9000 less than the previous model. this car can go an estimated 200 miles on a single charge. among the other features of the new model, tesla's controversial autopilot feature. tesla has come under fire after that feature failed to prevent a crash that killed one person in
