the christmas market attack in berlin has been killed in a shootout with police in italy. italian news agency ansa says a man killed in a shootout with police in milan is the main suspect in the berlin christmas market attack. the interior ministry has called a press conference for friday morning. the shootout took place at 3 a.m. in milan's sesto san giovanni neighborhood during a routine police check. ansa says the main pulled out a gun from his backpack after being asked to show his identity papers. the man was killed in the ensuing shootout. a police officer was injured. ansa said various sources in milan and rome confirmed that the dead man was anis amri, the suspect in the berlin truck attack on monday that killed 12 people. it is believed he traveled by train to italy. the attack on the berlin christmas market on monday killed 12 people and injured 49. the italian police officer who was shot was not seriously injured. more international breaking news. authorities in ca-24 as alternate routes. a sig-alert was issued at 7:25 p.m. the roadway opened shortly before 10 p.m. after a major traffic snarl. there is no word on the victim's conditions. both were transported to the hospital. a chp spokesperson believes they are both adults. but they were not identified. it appears only one vehicle was shot in this incident. a man and woman were shot on june 30. increased patrols, nor were they arrest in that case. on monday on 580 in oakland the chp says that the driver of a black mercedes fired shots at a honda that have been tailgating him. no one was hurt but the honda, you can see it was riddled with bullet holes. the incident shut down eastbound lanes near grand avenue for several hours. dale la salle high school players faces felony sexual assault charges. 15-year-old boy assaulted a female student from carondelet high school across the street. it happen after football game last month. the girl told the principal three days later. the name of the boy has not been released because he is a minor. shocking news coming out of a small community in shasta county this one. a well-liked gas station clerk was set on fire and killed. gofundme account has been set up for the family of 54-year- old david wicks. this horrifying attack happened wednesday night at a shell convenience center in the town of bernie. surveillance video shows a person walking and wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a yellow jacket to conceal their identities. the attacker doused a flammable liquid on the clerk on the floor of the store and then ignited the fluid. wicks was official confirmation that there suspect, 24-year-old amri anis has been shot and killed but a press conference got italy's interior minister says he has no doubt this was the man. the manhunt for amri anis ended in milan, italy at 3 am. at a news agencies say police on routine patrol in a milan neighborhood asked a man for id and pulled out a gun from his backpack and shots were fired. a policeman was injured and the gunman was killed.>> the suspect was killed after a number of inquiries were made under the circumstances. without any shadow of a doubt, it is the brazil suspect of a terror attack in berlin. >> reporter: is when the fire miles away from berlin where he was accused of driving a truck directly into a crowded christmas shopping market killing 12 people and injuring 56 others. immediately following the attack anis amri disappeared which sparked an international manhunt. they rated en masse in berlin where he had been seen on video camera before and after the attack. but that was just a short distance from the market which reopened thursday where candlelit memorial began to take shape where visitors left hand written tributes for the victims. have also learned from italian officials that the police officer who was shot confronting anis amri is in stable condition and is expected to be okay. investigators are trying to determine what contacts, if advisories out all over the place for the northern mountains. the system is looking impressive down by san francisco along the san mateo coast there could be pockets of very heavy rain also on the north coast a little mixed precipitation. this is a cold system and web shasta and mountains at 3500 feet with lots of cold air. the winter storm warning has already kicked in. for those of you traveling, the only day you can go is friday, if you done it before, you know what you'll encounter. 4 to 8 inches of snow later this afternoon. higher peaks one foot to two feet until 10 am. one system -- this is a pocket of cold air that will come in late tonight and saturday to get some rain but also cold temperatures. we have advisories for wind or mountain snow down to southern california and for us as well which weather advisories only up to the oregon border. nationally the system ejected on southern california and four corners right now is in the plains causing issues. the system coming for us and the pacific northwest as well. 30s and 40s on the temperatures, not as brutal as temperatures were on monday. this is in the plains could cause travel delays. temperatures in the 40s
