It was the driver according to chp. They have investigation going on there. Lets go to interstate 880 in oakland. Traffic moving along very well in both directions. Still light at the bay bridge toll plaza into San Francisco. Lets go to steve. Well, we have a pretty strong cold system moving in, there could be a wide variety of weather including thunderstorms, hail, even low snow levels by this evening. System is winding down up in the sierra. Still some by snow but cloudy skies being reported now, still well take that and pretty intense thunder shower activity on the north coast. So embedded within that, we have our own little cells. It would take a tour through the radar site, scotts valley, santa cruz mountains, morgan hills, pretty intense right off of santa cruz. Just to the northwest of them. Some of these better than that, really intense showers and thundershowers on the peninsula as well, heading towards cupertino and saratoga out of the hills there. You can see some of these will produce hail just beginning to move on short now in the sonoma coast from bodega bay down to inverness. And possibility of some rain snow mix up at cobb and then off and on showers towards Hidden Valley lake and up towards copeland as well. So theres a lot here and some of this is producing snow in the Sierra Nevada. 40s on the temps, going to be a cold day, 40s and 50s on your temps. I doubt these change too much. Too much cloud cover coming in but they will be trapped as far as warming up so expect 50s on the temps today. 43 ukiah, 48 sacramento, here comes our system, swinging in as it does, going to give us a very cold air, that could lower snow levels tonight from around 3500 feet, maybe snow in the hills tonight into tomorrow morning, showers, colder, lightning and hail but morning rain, some of it will be very light. Other could be hefty downpours. Thunderstorms are possible. Snow at around 3500 feet. Winter weather advisory until 7 00 a. M. Tuesday. 6 inches to maybe a foot of snow or more in some of the higher elevations. Cloudy, mostly cloudy day, thundershowers, colder, upper 50s for some on these temps. These are way below normal for this time of year as you might imagine. Pretty active today into probably tuesday morning. Then you will notice colder air, high temps hard pressed to get above low 60s. Especially on wednesday, near freezing. Would not be surprised if theres an advisory for cold taps. Looks okay thursday, friday, saturday. Another 60 another system for late sunday and monday. T
