guess the big question, when and is the rain coming? >> yes. it is. in fact a little bit of light rain this morning. mostly cloudy skies, some fog along the coastline. a mix of clouds, even a few low clouds around half moon bay and just a little bit of light drizzle. light sprinkles near highway 4, 680 where they meet together. i think we will be mostly cloudy. i think we have a chance for a few spotty showers. the wetter day will be tomorrow. >> new this morning a man is in critical condition after a shooting in san francisco over nights. it happened on 24th and brian street. we are live this morning with more onto investigation. >> reporter: good morning. san francisco police say that the victim just underwent emergency surgery. you can see out here right now crime scene investigators are looking for evidence. there are yellow evidence markers on the ground out there. on the eastside of brian street between 24th and 25th street in the mission district. this is what it looked like when we first got here. i talked to an officer who said a man was walking down the sidewalk around three when someone walked up and shot him. the victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition. the shooter got into a car and took off. there is no description of the suspect or the vehicle at this time. most neighbors were asleep and wake up to the sounds of gun fire. one of them called the police. back out here live you can see at this point brian is shut down between 24th and 25th street. i talked to the detective who said that he still is unsure when the streets will reopen. reporting live in san francisco, ktvu channel 2news. >> united states park police are investigating a shooting near a popular tourist attraction ins. the shots were reported in the fort mason area at about 9:00. investigators say just minutes later a man with a gun shot wound walked into a restaurant and asked for help. police say the victim is from the bay area and is in his 20s. he was hit in the leg and is expected it survive. no description has been released. >> new, the california highway patrol is trying to figure out what caused a driver to flip his car. it happened around three. police say a man in his early 20s was on the on-ramp approaching southbound 87 in san jose. his car hit the center divide and flipped on it it's side. he had to go out through the wind sheil. he was taken to the hospital. we have no word on his condition. a number of things could have caused that crash including alcohol or distracted driving. >> a 10-year-old is recovering after being grazed by flying debris during a shooting in oakland. she was outside playing when someone down the street started shooting. she was hit by flying wood that was splintered when it was hit by a bullet. >> i know that the community and the police department do as much as they can but the problem is they are doing what -- almost what they can handle. >> nobody else was hurt. no arrests have been made. >> the family of a baby shot thursday in richmond said the 1- year-old is recovering well. a shot spotter recorded that gun fire as it happened. police say 19 shots were fired in less than six seconds outside the home of a 1-year- old officers say the gunman was firing at a man on a bike just outside the apartment complex. the girl's mother said the piece from one of the bullets hit him in the neck. >> all i heard was his grandpa coming in saying gun shots and the first thing i thought of was my son. >> reporter: police are still searching for the gunman. a 25,000-dollar reward is being offered in the case. >> just about an hour an active sheet drill is starting. it is being held at castro elementary school. people should not be alarmed to see a heavy police presence at the school until about five. the drill is designed to teach officers how to respond to situations such as this one. this video is from the oikas school shooting. a gunman killed three and injured seven at the school. later this morning there will be an emergency drill at the jail. the drill will let firefighters work alongside the sheriff's office to practice fighting a fire in a high rice. there will be many fire engines and trucks around the facility but it's just a drill. >> new, the president is wishing a joyful easter to those who celebrate the resurrection of jesus christ. >> this weekend michelle, and the rest of us will join christians around the world to celebrate the resurrection of jesus christ and the hopeful promise of easter. >> in his weekly address the president said that the easter and pass over holidays give millions of christians and jewish people a chance to slow down and recommit themselves to loving their neighbors. >> hundreds of catholics gathered for a individuall service this morning in jerusalem. it was held at the church where christians say they believe jesus was crucified and buried. it's held a day before easter sunday which celebrates the resurrection of jesus christ. the pope will also celebrate his first easter vigil today after praying for peace in the middle east at a torch lighting service. the service will wrap up a receivers preparations leading up to easter sunday mass. tens of thousands are expected to watch the pope give a special blessing the same balcony where he appeared the day he was elected. >> easter celebrations are being held all over the bay area today and tomorrow. it looks like the celebration will be a little damp. preparations underway for the parade and rain or shine organizers say that parade is going to go on. in golden gate park organizers at the largest easter egg hunt are going ahead with the event despite the forecast and some aren't concerned about the weather because they are looking forward to something else. >> the first thing i like in the daytime, in the morning is that the easter bunny comes with chocolate. >> who doesn't like that? event organizers say they are still hoping for blue skies. we checked in on other celebrations. most say they are going to go ahead as scheduled regardless of the weather and some of those events include an easter egg hunt being held today and tomorrow. most of those begin at 11:00 a.m. at nine danville's show start hats community center on front street and at noon the spring celebration kicks off in richmond. its being held at the solano play lot on 38th streetf. it rains it'll be moved to the noah's arc preschool. >> that's the question. if it rains. let's turn to rosemary to see if you have the answer. >> for those hunts today i different story. widespread scattered showers in the forecast. we will get to that. let's look at what's happening outside at this hour. a mix of clouds out there. again we have a little bit of fog along the coastline. visibility three miles at half moon bay. most of us dealing with mid, high level clouds and a little bit of drizzle falling along the east bay. if i get in closer i'm seeing a little bit of light rain, we have a few sprinkles reported over parts of the delta, sonoma, it'll be very, very right. some of this maybe not touching the ground. as we get into the afternoon we are mainly crime the latest models want to bring us some clearing at times. we may see some sun today. this is the system here. it's about 400 miles off the coastline. it's moving eastward and it's going to slide over the bay area on easter sunday and that is going to bring us the most unstable weather in addition to scattered showers, may see a thunderstorm or two pop off in the afternoon tomorrow. here we are mostly gray this morning. notice that, little bit clearing here. not seeing a locality of rain but with the moisture in place that possibility of rain developing, a few spotty showers here and there absolutely in the forecast. into the evening hour itself you have outdoor plans the clouds come back. not a lot of rain but a lot of moisture. a few scattered showers could squeeze out of those clouds, tomorrow morning now we are waking up wet with the source moving in and they become more widespread. one we have scattered showers, especially over parts of the east bay, four the showers continue and then into sunday night we will be drying out, going to leave in the possibility of maybe a sprinkle monday morning, that's aboutt. the forecast for today temperatures are mild. i won't be surprise fire department it feels muggy outside. widespread 50s with mostly cloudy sky, in to the afternoon that slight chance for maybe a slight sprinkle. mid to upper 50s. low 60s at degrees, 69 for you afternoon. all right now the police are helping oakland police patrol city streets. we talked to them about their chase policies after a stolen car pursuit ended in a crash. it happened just before nine last night. the chp said officers saw a stone car and tried to pull it over but it sped away reaching speeds of up to 75-miles an hour. the car crashed in to another car and both driver was hurt. this morning the chp said a chase on city street cities street s is something they try to avoid. >> if a pursuit is happening and the speeds are getting to high or it's a danger to the public we are always assessing the work verses gain and we would cancel. >> the chp said that decision is made on a case by case basis. residential areas, time of day and the speed limit can all effect whether a chase is called off. in those cases air support and license plate tracing can help track down the driver. >> a man is facing felony charges after a major pot growing operation with nearly 3,000 plants is found. the 32-year-old rented a six thousand square foot business space and used to grow marijuana. he was arrested on thursday at building. in addition to the pot plants detectives say they took about 30 pounds of processed marijuana, they also found more marijuana at his home. pleasant hill police are looking for two men who robbed a check and go. yesterday afternoon the robbers walked in and asked about a certain type of transaction. while the employee explained to them one of them pulled out a gun and demanded cash. the employee was forced to lay on the floor while they escaped. anyone with information about this case is asked to call police. >> north korea has said it's entered into a state of war with south korea. they said they will all deal with all matters involving south korea according to war time regulations and it warned of revenge against the united states for interfering. the white house responded this morning saying they have a long history of making threats and doesn't think they would be carried out immediately. they do say they are taking the threats seriously. >> veterans across the country are taking their battles the frontlines to congress. groups of veterans say they will rally to fight against any proposal to change disability payments. . the president has endorsed a plan that would work out social security benefits slightishly different than now where it would grow at a slower rate. those new numbers would apply to veterans but groups say they have sacrificed enough and want out of those changes. >> men from san jose who died serving in the vietnam war will be honored with a memorial today at noon. we want to show you the rendering of the granite memorial titled sons of san jose. there are 142 names on that memorial. mike honda, chuck reed and others will be at the revealing. the revealing of the monument coincides with the 40th anniversary of united states troop withdrawal. the last troops left vietnam 40 years ago yesterday. some veterans have waited decades to get help with painful memory from the war. counselors say they need to be treated for ptsd. >> i just know this. you get an ikea kitchen. . firefighters rescued at least ten dogs after responding to a house fire in concord. it started in the kitchen of a home yesterday. firefighters made their way through the house they found a number of english bulldogs in cages. they were able to get them out and contain the small fire. nobody was hurt and the dogs are also okay. a man is facing charges in connection with the theft of three reptiles including a python. they were taken late wednesday or early thursday at the fresno discovery center. a video shows the man shoving them into a bag right there. the director said she cringed as she watched the man rip them right out of their king cages. >> was very painful to watch how he pulled them out. we were look for blood. >> yesterday police arrested a 20-year-old man and
