police describe the suspects as two black men, about 6 foot 1 with heavy builds. and here is a photo of the suspect vehicle. it's a newer four-door white ford f-150 pickup truck. and sparks police are looking into that armed robbery at a casino early yesterday. they were called out to reports of the hold up around 4 a-m at the alamo casino on greg street. one person walked into the store and showed a large silver revolver... then gave the cashier a backpack and ordered her to fill it with money. the man left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. that suspect is a white man... five- foot-eight... wearing black face paint, black clothing and a black baseball cap. reno police are also investigating an armed robbery at a convenience store in stead. police say around 2-30 sunday morning... a woman demanded money from the clerk at the jacksons store on stead boulevard, showing the clerk a gun in her waistband. white or hispanic, 18 to 20 years old, with a heavy build. she was last seen wearing a black hat, blue hooded sweatshirt, and black pants and shoes. she left the scene in a silver 4-door sedan with black rims... seen in this photo here. secret witness is offering a reward for information on any of these three burglaries. if you know anything... call secret witness at 3-2-2 49-hundred. and we have more details on that fatal crash yesterday... when a man was hit by a car while walking along the interstate. nevada highway patrol was called out to 580 northbound just south of bower's mansion shortly after one a-m. when they got there, officers found a man lying in the road. 18 year old chile bartels of carson city... was pronounced dead on the scene. 42 year old james dolan of sparks... the driver of the red honda civic that struck bartels... was still there on the scene when they arrived. dolan was taken into custody...but on charges officers found another car in a ditch near the incident. there was another vehicle that was involved in a previous crash south of our location. as of right now we are still conducting investigation. it is unknown on the status of the driver of that vehicle right now. sergeant smith tells us they're still investigating whether that second vehicle was related to the fatal crash. let's check in with meteorologist jeff martinez for a first look at the weather. good morning, jeff! mostly sunny and mild today with a high of 61 in reno and 58 for s. lake tahoe, and light continues for us through the weekend with highs in the 60s and no major storms are heading as barley is the main ingredient of beer, one of our breweries and a rancher are working together to turn the meat of the beer, to the meat on the table. ky sisson is in the studio with more on how they keep customers and the cows happy. good morning ky! good morning john and andi! great basin brewery owner tom young uses some of the highest quality barly to brew his beer. but instead of throwing it out after he's done, he gives it his barly turned beer, to then...beef. tom young and larry barnes- "we're gonna load up four bins today on the truck and head out to the ranch." "and feed some cows?" "yeah!" "alright." these guys-- tom young- "this is where the barly comes out of that we're gonna take up." know how to make things go full circle. after tom young brews his famous icky ipa and stout beers, the barly is brought to here, to larry barnes' redd barney ranch about 20 miles north of sparks. he feeds it to his cows. they love their great basin brewed barly-- but, like humans, have a bit of a preference. larry barnes- "they do know the difference between icky barly mash and stout. the stout is a little bitter, but they still eat it, but they still like it." for these bulls, it is soon time for them make their way back to a familiar place. young- "we buy the cows, and then it gets butchered and then in the resturant when you look at local, we will have a description when we're serving that beef." and that was just the case this last sunday. redd barney ranch special. customers say locally grown, grass and grain fed beef, makes the difference. dave sinclair- "fantastic right here! it almost feels like it's right down the road!" and it most certainly was. young- "look at these cows here, they're really liking what they're eatin and they look like happy cows!" happy cows and even happier customers. brandy rosse- "it's amazing, it's locally grown, from start to finish." barnes says he is going to be managing his farm a little differently so more of redd barney ranch meat can be featured at great basin. covering the story, ky sisson, channel 2 news. as new hampshire residents are casting their votes --some presidential candidates are feeling confident with their lead...we have the campaign latest --after the break. but first...if you're thinking of going to burning man this year, state taxes will have you paying more than usual...we'll tell you how much more...after the break. "you're watching channel 2 news this morning with john potter, andi the couple... who wants grass-fed beef that doesn't eat too much of their paychecks. the cash-strapped college student who simply wants organic and local produce. the parents...who may not have a healthy budget, but still make sure their children eat healthy. you inspire us to do everything we do... welcome back. burning man tickets go on sale on tomorrow... and this year... burners will have to pay more to visit the playa. burning man will likely have to charge participants for nevada's live entertainment tax this year. according to the official website... the organization is challenging the decision... but for now... burners will pay an additional 34- dollars on top of the 390-dollar ticket. in an effort to pay for increasing costs... burning man is offering what they call leonardo da vinci art tickets at 12 hundred dollars apiece. the tickets don't have any additional benefits... but officials say... it's in the spirit of supporting artists... like wealthy patrons used to do in da vinci's time. and the first electric car charging station along the rural reno is now open for business. a station is up and running at the eddie world gas station in beatty. governor sandoval announced the so-called electric highway last year. the project's goal is to help drivers make the 400-mile journey between las vegas and northern nevada without running out of power. they're still negotiating to set up stations in fallon, tonopah and hawthorne. the stations will be free to drivers, through 20-20 and the debate for solar rates in our state continued at a public utilities commission hearing yesterday morning. since last year's legislation went into effect... solar customers and businesses have been protesting the new rate hikes. at yesterday's hearing... the p-u-c fielded questions as to whether existing solar customers should be grand-fathered in and allowed to keep their original fees. opponents of the new rate hikes say they eliminate the return on investment for installing rooftop solar... leaving home owners reeling and forcing several solar companies robert -
