" somebody knows where he is. somebody is hiding him. we just hope that someone comes forward," said sac county sheriff ken mcclure. the owner of the carnarvon inn hopes they find him soon. cindy lawler witnessed the incident. lawler claims werneburg got out of his car, with a hammer in hand, and approached lawler, her granddaughter kaylee, a friend of kaylee's, and kyle freese. then, for some reason, werneburg got back into his car. " i thought he was going to leave but he didn't. he backed up and then came full force at us. first he hit my truck," said cindy lawler, owner of carnarvon inn. that's when, lawler says, werneburg backed up again and struck freese injuring his leg. " you can still see the track and tire marks where the suspect jermey werneburg struck the victim," said michelle schoening siouxland's news channel. lawler says she's know werneburg since he was 17, and says freese was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. " i want him behind bars. you just don't go and hit someone that lawler says kyle freese is in stable condition in a des moines hospital tonight. if you have any information on werneburg's whereabouts, you're asked to call 9-1-1, or call the sac county sheriff's office at (712) 662-7127. a judge ruled tuesday that apple must help the f-b-i break into the i-phone once used by accused san bernardino massacre shooting suspect syed farook. farook and his wife tashfeen malik died in a shootout with police after they reportedly shot and killed fourteen of farook's coworkers in san bernardino, california last december. since then investigators have not been able to get past apple's security features and unlock farook's phone. farook's former employer, the san bernardino county health department, provided the phone. apple says it will fight the judge's order. some survivors of the bataclan attack on november 13th said seeing california rock band eagles of death metal perform in paris yesterday enabled them to turn the page on their ordeal. eagles of death metal performed the highly charged concert just over three months after the attack at their last show in the french capital. afterward, viewers appeared in good spirits with some who survived the bataclan attack saying that the show had enabled them to "finish the story". outrage ... illness ... but no solution for to flint's water contamination problem. lead levels far above the federal limit sent the top doctor in the u-s to the city ... to listen to residents and work on a solution. meantime ... a state agency is being investigated because of the crisis ... and a new report reveals that flint paid top dollar for dirty water. cnn's kim hutcherson reports. " when there is a vacancy on the supreme court, the president of the united states is to nominate someone. the senate is to consider that that nominee is elevated to the supreme court." president obama says the senate has plenty of time to consider the record of a nominee that he presents and to make a decision. iowa economic leaders say the quality of jobs in the marketplace is doing better today. iowa economic development authority director debi durham says the state is raising incomes, and creating jobs. she says governor terry branstad had a bold growth agenda to create 300-thousand jobs. durham says iowa has exceeded that on, what she called, "a gross level." but, durham says the economy is slowing. "if you look at the strong dollar, that really hurts our imports right now and so even though last year we had a banner year with imports or exports, 15.1 billion broke all records, we're going to be down probably double digits this year when the final accounting is done." workers, but population growth is slow. she mentioned the aging population, and replacing the jobs that "baby boomers" are leaving. one way she says iowa is addressing the issue is through programs like "home base iowa", and teaching students stem. durham says those can prepare them for the workforce at a young age. some sioux city students had a special visitor tuesday. iowa lieutenant governor kim reynolds began a statewide stem tour, in sioux city. at morningside elementary, she dropped into a few classes asking students about their various projects. reynolds also took a look at loess hills elementary's computer programming designation. students showed off their coding projects. reynolds says she sees tremendous opportunities in offering classes, like these, in elementary schools. "we're actually seeing the numbers go in the wrong direction, not just in iowa, but nationally, especially with young girls," said kim reynolds, lt. governor of iowa. " if we want to fill we want to keep our young people in the state of iowa, this is an industry sector that's growing, that will continue to grow and provides tremendous opportunities." reynolds is scheduled to visit ikm-manning high school in march. reynolds also stopped by the new launchpad children's museum, in downtown sioux city, yesterday morning. she toured the new facility, and spoke with staff about the different tools available for kids. reynolds says the museum gives kids the opportunity to both play and learn. tuesday morning was designed for working women that want to grow and lead. ktiv's tiffany lane has the details on the message of empowerment... and what women business leaders can do in the workforce. workforce. "the american express open survey ranked iowa women business "so one of the things we really have their own businesses, women who work with other organizations and really include everyone in the conversation." hundreds of women were able to have that conversation tuesday. will address things like the millenial mind, how to take feedback, what your body language says about how you present yourself. and just different opportunities to really help women improve their leadership development skills. those skills come with the understanding that there are more steps for women to take in leadership development. "take an issue as simple as getting dressed in the morning right, the guys have to decide between like the stone khakis and sand khakis and the women have to figure out for this particular meeting, or client or whatever, how do i figure out what the right match is. there's just more ways to go wrong." but business leaders say one way to address the challenges begins by learning how to take feedback. "we're going to talk about how to take charge of your own feedback and drive your own learning by being a better feedback receiver and it's just so important for women leaders maybe in particular who often get quite critical those with grace." su "leaders at the event spoke about women's roles in the growing economy." "i think everybody knows that diversity in the workplace is what most businesses need to succeed and so women are almost 50 percent of the workforce and it really is an economic issue," said lt. gov. kim reynolds. debi durham, director of the iowa economic development authority referenced an article she read that said by 2028, women will control about 75 percent of the discretionary income. and students are part of that future, one nursing student says its important to learn from women leaders before entering the workforce. " when there is a vacancy on the supreme court, the president of the united states is to nominate someone. the senate is to consnser that nomination. and eitherhey disapprove of that nominee, or that nominee is elevated to the supreme court." president obama says the senate has plenty of time to consider the record of a nominee that he presents and to make a decision. a special tribute to the late sueme court justice antonin scalal. in a court tradition dating back to the 19th draped over the late judge's courtroom chair, the court bench and the door leading into the marble courtroom. scalia sat to the right of chief justice john roberts which is the seat given to the nior justice. scalia died saturday at age 79. iowa economic leaders say the quality of jobs in the marketplace is doing better today. iowa economic development authority director debi durham says the state is raising incomes, and creating jobs. she says governor terry branstad had a boldrowth agenda to create 300-thousand jobs. durham says iowa has exceeded that on, what she called, "a gross level." but, durham says the economy is slowing. "if you look at the strong dollar, that really hurts oururmports right now and so even ththgh last year we had a banner year with imports or exports, 15.1 billion broke all records, we're going to be down probably double digits this year when the final accounting is done." durham says the state needs workers, but population growth is slow. she mentioned the aging population, the jobs that "baby boomers" are leaving. one way she says iowa is addressing the issue is through programs like "home base iowa", and teaching students stem. durham says those can prepare them for the workforce at a young age. some sioux city students had a special visitor tuesday. iowa lieutenant t vernor kim reynolds began a stewide stem tour, in sioux city. at morningside elementary, she dropped into a few classes asking students about their various projects. reynolds also took a look at loess hillsls elementary's computer programming degnation. students showed off their coding prwjects. reolds says she sees tremendous opportunities in offering classes, like these, in elementary schools. "we're actually seeing the numbers go in the wrong direction, not just in iowa, but nationally, especially with young girls," said kim reynolds, lt. governor of iowa. " if we want to fill that pipeline of talent and if we want to keep our young people in the state of iowa, this is an industry sector that's growing, that will continue to grow and ynolds is scheduled visit ikm-manning high school in march. reynolds also stopped by the new launchpad children's museum, in downtown sioux city, yesterday morning. she toured the new facility, and spoke with staff about the different tools availablfor kids. reynolds says the museum gives kids the opportunity to both play and learn. tuesday morning was designed for working women that want to grow and lead. ktiv's tiffany lane has the details on the message of empowerment... and what women business leaders can do in the workforce. "so one of t t things we really try to work with are women who he their own businesses, women who work with other organizations and really include everyone in the conversation." hundreds of women were able to have that conversation tuesday. "our speakers are people who will address things like the millenial mind, how to take feedback, what your body language says about how you present yourself. and just different opportunities to really help women improve their leadership development skills. those skills come with the undersnding that there are more steps for women to take in leadership development. "take an issue as simple as getting dressed in the morning right, the guys have to decide between like the stone khakis and sand khakis and the women have to figure out for this particular meeting, or client or whatever, how do i figure out what the right match is. there's just more ways to go wrong." but business leaders say one way to address s e challenges begins by learning "we're going to talk about how to take charge of your own feedback and drive your own learning by being a better feedback receiver and it's just so important for women leaders maybybin particular who often get quite critical feedback to learn how to hdle those with grace." su "leaders at the event spoke about women's roles in the growing economy." "i think everybody knows that diversity in the workplace is what most businesses need to succeed and so women are almost 50 percent of the workforce and it really is an econic issue," said lt. gov. kim reynolds. debi durham, director of the iowa economic development authority referenced an article she read that said by 2028, women will control abobo 75 percent of the discretionary income. and students are part of that future, one nursing student says its important to learn from women leaders before entering the workforce. "i believe, especially in my field, you know it's mostly women, and we're always representing," said laura smith, a nursing student at western iowa tech community college.
