of jones and alta shortly after midnight. witnesses told detectives they saw a four-door gray car leaving the area. police say it might have been involved in the crime but their investigation is just criminal charges against a limo driver involved in a deadly crash on long island last july. prosecutors say carlos pino tried to make an unsafe u-turn in a limo when it crashed into a pickup truck. four women in the limo died. four others hurt. prosecutors say they will appeal the judge's decision. now to a story making international headlines. an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude 5.4 rattled central italy. this comes just two months after a powerful quake toppled villages and killed nearly 300 people. a powerful 6.0 magnitude aftershock hit awhile later. a news station in rome felt the quake during a live newscast. experts say the epicenter was about two hours north of south america where six people died in a landslide near colombia. eyewitnesses reported the landslide when it covered a main highway by the capital of bogota. one of the people killed a motorcyclist driving on the road. the other five were workers at nearby mine. officials say six mine workers are still unaccounted for. local authorities say the roadway would be cleared and opened as soon as they finish searching the area for more victims. heavy rains that have soaked the the landslide. with just 13 high-end clothing store in philadelphia. you can see the suspects ram into the front window of the store. as many as seven suspects kicked in the shadow proof glass and rushed into the store the men took off, some jumping into a silver mercedes-benz. all this happened in just 90 seconds. a pilot for sky west airlines facing serious trouble. he is accused of trying to fly while intoxicated. south dakota police were called to the airport after people said the pilot smelled like alcohol. sky west airlines put the pilot on administrative leave and removed him from flying duties pending the the suspects get out but changes his mind and jumps back behind the wheel. finally the suspect came to a dead end but still refused to listen to police. officers then decided they needed to take him down with the taser. a loophole in our state laws allows dui offenders to drive our streets on mopeds but not for long. news 3's faith jessie explains the changes to boost reduce the amount of unlicensed drivers on the streets because starting november 1st, those with mopeds will have to go to the dmv to register. jay wooly make as living selling mopeds. >> we tell them at this point with suspended licenses to operate unregistered vehicles like mopeds. in 2017 moped drivers must not only present a valid license but also prove ownership of their vehicle and pay a one-time fee of60 the new law is also an attempt to better track stolen vehicles. >> moped theft is a huge problem. it's been increasing in nevada. national insurance bureau of crime report lists us at number seven in the country. >> reporter: that is an issue that hits close to home for willie as some of his customers were victims. >> of course, it's panic for a lot of people because this is their primary form of transportation. >> reporter: another requirement? store owners will need to have a special dmv license to sell mopeds. protect customers from non-trustworthy dealers. >> you would go to the distributor and buy them at wholesale and then retail them on the street corner somewhere. and give no protection to the customer. >> reporter: you can start registering those vehicles on november 1st. metro says that you need to have your mopeds registered by january 1st. but they will give a one-month grace period to get those registered. after that they will be citing all mopeds that do not vegas we hit 81 degrees for our hig slightly above normal. we're going see temperatures increase a little bit by tomorrow afternoon. that warm up, let me tell you, is going to be brief though. high pressure will continue to move east and out of our area throughout the day. we pretty much just saw high, thin clouds over the region. much drier conditions compared to a couple of days ago when we were hit by rain showers. get ready for that to happen again. a storm out of the pacific is already starting to move into the west coast. we may even see some of that seymour which is quickly losing momentum. a category 3 earlier today packing winds at 125 miles an hour. as it continues its journey northward it's going lose momentum, break apart. but remnants of the storm could actually help fuel this trough of low pressure. you can see the hurricane. remnants right here grabbing on to that. you can see this system continue to move into the coast, bringing us the showers on friday. that's not the only time we're expecting to see the rain. the most part overnight tonight. temperatures won't be quite as cool as last night. looking at mid-40s on the mountain. 51 degrees for pahrump. low 70s for overton. 64 degrees for boulder city. highs tomorrow will be about two or three degrees warmer compared to our high temperatures today. so a slight, very slight warming trend for tomorrow. 87 degrees for overton and the lake mead area. upper 70s indian springs. valley, primm, searchlight and boulder city by afternoon. in las vegas we're going to see temperatures well above normal for this time of year. winds nice and calm throughout the rest of the day. and as we continue our way into the weekend a lot of people have been asking what is halloween going to look like? well as we take you through the next few days, best chances for showers will be on friday. we're going get a break between systems before a second storm currently in the gulf alaska brings us another slight chance for showers on sunday. continue across the area. our high temperatures will only be in the mid-70s on halloween. but i'm happy to say it is going to be dry and it's going to feel really good. however
