condition but police say the driver may have fallen asleep. it's a daunting task for parents, keeping their teenagers safe during their first years behind the wheel. now some new numbers are in that show deadly teen involved car crashes are actually on the rise in arizona. liz kotalik explains. the governor's highway safety association just announcing a scary statistic. teen involved deadly crashes rising by 10% last year. no surprise that navigating these dangerous as the new driver. >> the fact that lower gas prices mean more teens are on the roads spending more time driving and that's going to result in more teens being involved in crashes. >> aaa of arizona rep says that's on top of the fact that teens have been raised in a world filled with technology. if constant connectivity is something they are accustomed to -- >> we found nine if ten arizoans say they support a mobile device ban for teen months of licensure. >> unclear if that issue will pop up. but an obvious option now is putting soon to be drivers in classes. >> now i have to test. >> a simulator driving mba in scottsdale showing how difficult it really is to text and drive. >> i can't even -- i'm sorry. >> a silly way to teach an important lesson as car crashes remain the leading cause of death for teenagers. >> aaa asked more than 140 driving instructors what the top speeding, support scanning and distracted driving. liz kotalik, "fox 10 news." one person killed and at least 43 others injured after a charter bus crashed into a tractor-trailer it happened in north georgia. some 60 miles from atlanta. witnesses say the truck was attempting to make a turn and the bus plowed into it. the bus was on its way to a casino in north carolina. so far no charges filed in this accident. months but a wildfire burning along the california coast is finally fully contained this was a monster fire. it had been burning in the rugged area of big sur. investigators say it was started by an illegal campfire. it ended up burning more than 200 square miles of land there. and that wildfire surpassed 200 million-dollars in firefighting cost making it the costliest fire to fight in u.s. history. flu season just kicked off a couple of weeks ago. it turns out the virus is pretty closly here in the united states. a study shows the flu costs about $5.5 billion last year in medical visits, medication and lost productivity at the work place. the cdc estimates that fewer than half of adults were vaccinated during 2015-2016. princess kate is back in the headlines and it's all because of her parents. michael and carol middleton own a company called party pieces and they have been selling some costumes. one of them is called dead pet road kill which has a big tire track across the torso and another is called, cut throat pirate which has a pirate with blood. >> no donald trump? coach-- he was always looking for it never been pushed by his parents. it was really coming from him. last night when austin was making nhl history. >> all of those little boys that we see on the ice now they kept running to the bench. coach, ron, he has a goal! coach ron -- and after that he was almost fighting -- first come to the -- to tell me. >> ron couldn't watch the game, he texted austin after his amazing performance. >> just shot him a little text. pappy, awesome. imagine this. that's all and just responded, thank you, coach. >> ron says that austin really is an inspiration to the kids here and he is a mentor. he stops by in the summer time. everybody knows who he is. he says hello and ron says that hopefully his epic performance last knight will inspire other kids to get started and pick up the hockey stick right here in the valley reporting live from phoenix, i'm kristy siefkin, "fox 10 news." that is so cool. a california police officer pulls the woman over for a traffic stop but when he sees the woman and her kids and that they are living in the car. he decided to not give her a ticket and instead he gave her something else. >> hayward police officer jonathan mccloud makes traffic stops all of time but a recent stop was different. >> i could tell they had been living in the vehicle or go from place to place. >> he pull oafder a woman in a mcdonald's parking lot. my license is suspended right now. and this is all i have. me and my children, we go from shelter to shelter instead of towing the car or giving her a ticket, he asked her a question. >> i said, have the kids eaten?
