let's track them hour by hour. but first, the big weather headlines because we're going to see 2 big storms in the coming days. the first one arriving sunday through monday morning. and then another one monday afternoon. through wednesday, we could get anywhere from about 3 quarters of an inch of rain to about an inch and a quarter of rain for most bay area cities. and we're tracking snow levels. believe it or not, some light snow showers could be possible in our highest peaks in the north bay dropping snow levels to as low as 3,000 feet. thanks to those snow flurries. so yet winter certainly coming into the bay area, even though the calendar says fall and we are going to see gusty winds as well sunday into monday with the first round of wet weather. 35 mile per hour wind speeds with stronger gusts. >> throughout our highest peaks overall, we're tracking widespread drizzle out there right now, especially along the coast. but we're going to see a fairly dry outlook sunday morning. also, partial clearing with that storm cloud cover increasing sunday night. the bulk of the wet weather and the heaviest rain overnight. so fortunately, while most of us are sleeping, expect about half an inch of rain or less with this second stronger storm, bringing us additional rain totals. pretty impressive with this model for monday afternoon through wednesday. so more on that and your philippe djegal reports, a witness says it was the result of a street race. >> just before 8 o'clock friday night, ben was driving from one high school football game in redwood city to another when he witnessed a deadly collision. reason. he was in the area of el camino and finger avenue times to portland, driving super >> car that shana now i just. the redwood city fire department says one of the 2 cars involved in the crash was on fire when firefighters redwood city police officers helped extinguish the flames. the 17 year-old driver and 2 passengers in the car survived the police and fire riding in the 2 other cars began taunting the officers as one person was being arrested, that hans turned into a fight and one of the officers was hit in the face. the 5 suspects were arrested. they're now facing a series of charges, including felony assault. >> the union city police department offering free gun locks in an effort to promote gun safety. you can head over to their office and pick one up at the lobby. police to estimate about a 3rd of households with children ages 17 and younger, have a gun in the home. gun owners can take extra precautions when kids are present, including reopening with the storm out in the pacific northwest. that's going to bring us quite a nice boost. as far as water precipitation goes the let's take a look outside half moon bay. we're tracking pretty poor visibility right along the bay area coastline. >> and even into our north bay valleys as well. high temperatures today, 48 degrees below average because of that storm cloud cover today. so very gloomy day low 70's for san jose. even santa rose in downtown san francisco. you should be flirting with 70's, but instead barely warming up into the low 60's. so let's take a look at temperatures out there right now. we are noticing that blanket of cloud cover overhead. temperatures gradually cooling down right now, but we're going to notice better clearing during the overnight hours into your sunday morning. and with that cool temperatures, especially for those of you in parts of our north bay valleys right now, though, downtown san francisco in oakland, 59 degrees with san jose and pittsburgh at 62 degrees. low 60's for but point rays and even to bron already cooling down into the mid-fifties. but let's take a look at how chilly it's going to get, especially for those of you in santa rosa. 39 degrees, widespread 40's and 50's for most of the bay area with san jose. the mall, the city overnight at 53 degrees and temperatures tomorrow. we are going to cool down 5 to 10 degrees below average. so slightly cooler forecast tomorrow compared to today. in fact, downtown san francisco not even warming up into the 60's. 59 degrees with mid 60's. for those of you in antioch, the mall, the city there, but half moon bay, 57 degrees. and don't forget, we do fall back tonight. so daylight saving time ends overnight and we're going to gain an hour of sleep tomorrow. so enjoy that. and we're going to track that storm door that's going to continue through midweek. a little bit of a break by thursday. and then next weekend, friday into saturday morning, we could see another round of wet weather with sunday into monday. more showers in the extended 10 at 10 outlook. so i'm really excited. this is exactly what we like to see this time of year that monday morning. will the commute hours get a lot of rain or will we have that break there? like morning commute hours? we're going to get yeah. like half an inch of rain or less overnight. so we could see some ponding on the roads. but overall it is going to be dry. but we're still going to notice some of the ground very saturated. then monday afternoon through wednesday, another round of wet weather. and then even some possible lightning. so scattered thunderstorms expected by tuesday and snow flurries in our highest peaks for north bay mountains. so here we go there. got me to thanks for bringing joy. thanks, guys. all right. in the south bay, after almost 2 hours searches santa clara police say they >> found an elderly man who went missing from his home. the man's phone last showed him in the area of metcalf road near some rugged terrain. and that's where they found his car and they began a search heavily wooded area. he was found disoriented and suffering from early stages of hypothermia. officers carried him out of that steep terrain for almost a half a mile. he was then taken to a local hospital. still no update on his condition tonight. >> the company citizen held a safety and resource fair in oakland today it was part of their 5 million dollar initiative to help stop asian hate the apps now offering about 20,000 free memberships, specifically for the aps community. the app normally cost $20 a year for a premium account. but violent crimes against asian americans in the bay area have been on the rise since the start of the pandemic. so they're trying to help them out by giving them free subscriptions. >> and san francisco, many people gathering this afternoon on the embarcadero and supported the people of iran. the group has been protesting for weeks since the death of 21 year-old mahsa amini amini died in the custody of iranian morality police after being in a coma for 3 days. the iranian police say she died from heart illness, but others believe she was severely beaten while in police custody. i mean, he's death in september sparked global outrage and protests against the iranian government. protesters say the movement is special because it's being crushed. they were trampled and had trouble breathing. others have accused festival organizers and law enforcement for not recognizing red flags as early as 10 o'clock in the morning. the day of the missing after their car was swept by water off of a bridge. there. it's still under investigation. whether or not the child's drowning was due to the storm. and in texas, authorities confirmed a does the preservation of current affordable housing and points to her track record for building 197 units in her own district. she shares her plans for attracting more construction to oakland. i'm actually a champion of getting a feasibility study >> completed through and around i f t that's an enhanced infrastructure financing. district. and so through this, the city would be able to ensure that we have the matching funds for developers to actually make sure that they develop deeply affordable, affordable and moderate rate cows. and finally town wants to keep the a's in oakland as long as the city benefits from the deal with the team. >> on the waterfront deal, she wants the a's to pay for game day and concert services like traffic flow give local vendors a reasonable rate to operate at the proposed ballpark and build 15% affordable housing on site and at least 20% off site. obviously the number one thing actually would be making sure that we have a hard backstop. >> in because >> we're tracking several feet of snow. so it's really going to look like a winter wonderland out there in the coming days, starting as early as tomorrow afternoon. we're going to be under a winter storm warning and a winter weather advisory for most of the sierra starting sunday afternoon through wednesday morning. so radar for right now. we are tracking light scattered hit or miss rain and snow showers mainly over south lake tahoe and kirkwood. but we are tracking a slick commute. also i-80 at donner summit. so if you do want to head out to this take advantage of tonight or sunday morning, because as you can see by sunday afternoon and sunday evening, that's when we're really going to start to notice those rain and snow showers really intensifying peaking on monday afternoon into tuesday. that's where we're going to get the bulk of not only the grain valley showers, but also the mountain snow throughout the highest peaks. so we're expecting about one to 2 feet of heavy snow for most of the sierra, but elevations above 7,000 feet, 2 to 4 feet of fresh powder with wind speeds along our valleys. >> 55 miles per hour. and also along the ridgecrest 100 miles per hour. wind speeds. so tomorrow temperatures in the mid 40's for truckee in south lake tahoe cooling down into the upper 30's by monday. and then by tuesday, perfect prime snowmaking conditions, mid 30's lot. in world news tonight, thousands of people pack downtown seoul to honor the victims killed in last weekend's halloween stampede. more than 150 people died. the mourners holding candles saying and listening to speeches, some carrying signs criticizing the south korean got korean government for not being prepared on tuesday. south korea's police chief took responsibility for the stampede saying police failed to respond to calls warning of an impending disaster. meanwhile, tensions are mounting between north and south korea tonight, north korea firing missiles into the sea today in response to u.s. and south korean military drills. us flew to supersonic bombers over south korea as a part of its joint drills. those drills started monday and we're supposed to end yesterday. they were extended today in response to north korean provocations this week, north korea test fired more than 30 missiles, including in intercontinental ballistic missile that prompted shelter warnings in japan. >> 15 people are dead. 5 others injured following a fire that broke out at a cafe and nightclub in western russia happened in a city about 200 miles north of moscow overnight. and another 250 were evacuated safely before the roof of that building collapsed. first responders say a person in the cafe used a flare gun during a fight which caused that fire a criminal investigation is underway to find the person who had that gun. >> an indigenous leader in peru's amazon region says his community is holding more than 90 riverboat passengers. hostages. he says it's to demand government attention and complaints of oil pollution. kelly beeson explains where the situation may go from here. >> these are photos of the hostage situation where at least 98 riverboat passengers, 23 of them let's track them hour by hour. but first, the big weather headlines because we're going to see 2 big storms in the coming days. the first one arriving sunday through monday morning. and then another one monday afternoon. through wednesday, we could get anywhere from about 3 quarters of an inch of rain to about an inch and a quarter of rain for most bay area cities. and we're tracking snow levels. believe it or not, some light snow showers could be possible in our highest peaks in the north bay dropping snow levels to as low as 3,000 feet. thanks to those snow flurries. so yet winter certainly coming into the bay area, even though the calendar says fall and we are going to see gusty winds as well sunday into monday with the first round of wet weather. 35 mile per hour wind speeds with stronger gusts. >> throughout our highest peaks overall, we're tracking widespread drizzle out there right now, especially along the coast. but we're going to see a fairly dry outlook sunday morning. also, partial clearing with that storm cloud cover increasing sunday night. the bulk of the wet weather and the heaviest rain overnight. so fortunately, while most of us are sleeping, expect about half an inch of rain or less with this second stronger storm, bringing us additional rain totals. pretty impressive with this model for monday afternoon through wednesday. so more on that and your witnessed a deadly collision. reason. he was in the area of el camino and finger avenue times to portland, driving super >> car that shana now i just. the redwood city fire department says one of the 2 cars involved in the crash was on fire when firefighters redwood city police officers helped extinguish the flames. the 17 year-old driver and 2 passengers in the car survived the police and fire reopening with the storm out in the pacific northwest. that's going to bring us quite a nice boost. as far as water precipitation goes the let's take a look outside half moon bay. we're tracking pretty poor visibility right along the bay area coastline. >> and even into our north bay valleys as well. high temperatures today, 48 degrees below average because of that storm cloud cover today. so very gloomy day low 70's for san jose. even santa rose in downtown san francisco. you should be flirting with 70's, but instead barely warming up into the low 60's. so let's take a look at temperatures out there right now. we are noticing that blanket of cloud cover overhead. temperatures gradually cooling down right now, but we're going to notice better clearing during the overnight hours into your sunday morning. and with that cool temperatures, especially for those of you in parts of our north bay valleys right now, though, downtown san francisco in oakland, 59 degrees with san jose and pittsburgh at 62 degrees. low 60's for but point rays and even to bron already cooling down into the mid-fifties. but let's take a look at how chilly it's going to get, especially for those of you in santa rosa. 39 degrees, widespread 40's and 50's for most of the bay area with san jose. the mall, the city overnight at 53 degrees and temperatures tomorrow. we are going to cool down 5 to 10 degrees below average. so slightly cooler forecast tomorrow compared to today. in fact, downtown san francisco not even warming up into the 60's. 59 degrees with mid 60's. for those of you in antioch, the mall, the city there, but half moon bay, 57 degrees. and don't forget, we do fall back tonight. so daylight saving time ends overnight and we're going to gain an hour of sleep tomorrow. so enjoy that. and we're going to track that storm door that's going to continue through midweek. a little bit of a break by thursday. and then next weekend, friday into saturday morning, we could see another round of wet weather with sunday into monday. more showers in the extended 10 at 10 outlook. so i'm really excited. this is exactly what we like to see this time of year that monday morning. will the commute hours get a lot of rain or will we have that break there? like morning commute hours? we're going to get yeah. like half an inch of rain or less overnight. so we could see some ponding on the roads. but overall it is going to be dry. but we're still going to notice some of the ground very saturated. then monday afternoon through wednesday, another round of wet weather. and then even some possible lightning. so scattered thunderstorms expected by tuesday and snow flurries in our highest peaks for north bay mountains. so here we go there. got me to thanks for bringing joy. thanks, guys. all right. in the south bay, after almost 2 hours searches santa clara police say they >> found an elderly man who went missing from his home. the man's phone last showed him in the area of metcalf road near some rugged terrain. and that's where they found his car and they began a search heavily wooded area. he was found disoriented and suffering from early stages of hypothermia. officers carried him out of that steep terrain for almost a half a mile. he was then taken to a local hospital. still no update on his condition tonight. >> the company citizen held a safety and resource fair in oakland today it was part of their 5 million dollar initiative to help stop asian hate the apps now offering about 20,000 free memberships, specifically for the aps community. the app normally cost $20 a year for a premium account. but violent crimes against asian americans in the bay area have been on the rise since the start of the pandemic. so they're trying to help them out by giving them free subscriptions. >> and san francisco, many people gathering this afternoon on the embarcadero and supported the people of iran. the group has been protesting for weeks since the death of 21 year-old mahsa amini amini died in the custody of iranian morality police after being in a coma for 3 days. the iranian police say she died from heart illness, but others believe she was severely beaten while in police custody. i mean, he's death in september sparked global outrage and protests against the iranian government. protesters say the movement is special because it's being and snow showers mainly over south lake tahoe and kirkwood. but we are tracking a slick commute. also i-80 at donner summit. so if you do want to head out to this take advantage of tonight or sunday morning, because as you can see by sunday afternoon and sunday evening, that's when we're really going to start to notice those rain and snow showers really intensifying peaking on monday afternoon into tuesday. that's where we're going to get the bulk of not only the grain valley showers, but also the mountain snow throughout the highest peaks. so we're expecting about one to 2 feet of heavy to find the person who had that gun. >> an indigenous leader in peru's amazon region says his community is holding more than 90 riverboat passengers. hostages. he says it's to demand government
