safely. one challenge was that when the garage was exploded, the gas meter was knocked off and so we had a natural gas leak that ignited and we couldn't get near that. also power lines down, where the power droped from the pole, was also on to the garage, that was down and those wires were hot. there's a whole area that we couldn't work around. >>reporter: bring in this esca vat tor to dig up the cotati, dan ruben, kron 4 news. one man is in the hospital tonight after a shooting near san francisco's -- neighborhood. it happened around 7:00 o'clock at the intersection of market and mace aen streets. officers responding found the man suffering from gunshot wounds. he was taken to san francisco general hospital, he is expected to survive. no word on whether that shooting is relating to the pride parade, and yes, pride weekend is in full swing and the celebration has the bay area buzzing. this is a look of downtown san francisco tonight. traffic backed up for blocks. along the avenue. hundreds of thousands of people are expected to participate in the t city's 44th annual pride event and that's bringing lots of cars and foot traffic here to san francisco. earliered to, people afternoon in san francisco and thousands of sell brants flooded the civic center. the festive atmosphere was boy yent, those who reflected on what has transpired since the first gay pride event that pink triangle, 200 volunteers worked this morning to put up the pink tarp that makes the triangle. signifies the l g p t q community's on going fight for acceptance. >> just a matter of not so much just tolerance and acceptance and it's acceptance of everybody and just making sure that everybody knows that san francisco is a safe place. >> volunteers will also be needed to remove the triangle tomorrow between 4:30 and 7:00 o'clock. here's a look at the floats that are a part of the parade tomorrow morning. more than a million and a half people are expected to participate. most street closures along the route will start a few hours earlier on sunday. the corner of market and bale street. parade participants will make their west down market, market and 8th street. will be impacted, last night. on the kenny bridge overcrossing on willow price road near the concord naval weapons station. spotted the accident ask called for help. the two vehicles and suv and sedan were driving in opposite directions before the crash. the woman had who had been driving one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene. she was pronounced dead a short while later. tonight, family and friends of a missing petaluma man are celebrating his safe return. on friday, jay roy martinez was reported missing by my wife on june 5th when he didn't show up to work. martinez wallet and clothes were found inside his car near the sonoma fairgrounds. last night, martinez called his wife from napa asking for a ride woem. the family has turned the vigil into a party. he walked away from his car back 10:00 o'clock tonight during the railroad crossing. fire officials say the driver of this mercedes was inside the vehicle when it came to the stop on the westbound tracks. at the same time, an amtrak train was approaching the intersection. the driver was able to escape, just before the train slammed into the vehicle, nobody including the driver was hurt. there were no hazards or significant damage to replace a hinge on the stretch of roadway near the chavez exit. the hinge connects two sections of roadway. cal tran says structural depict sis in 2006 led to a repair with plans for a replacement down the road. that's what's happening over the july 4th weekend. >> these hinges have been here for probably 40 something years. and during that time, they've worn a lot. and the standards have changed. and what we want to do is make sure that this structure stays safe for the motoring public, the way to do that is by replacing those hinges. >>reporter: northbound 280 will be closed to king street. from wednesday night through monday morning, july 7th. related northbound onramps will also be closed and motorists are advised if they can use public transit, they should. southbound 280 will not be impacted. >> again the work gets underway and the closure begins wednesday night, through july 4th. ideally, this stretch of northbound 280 will reopen in time for the commute monday morning,
