that action saying it was just thursday morning when catalytic converter thieves opened fire on a berkeley homeowner who fortunately was not injured. >> philippe djegal all kron. 4 >> berkeley's mayor took to twitter tonight about that shooting saying in part, quote, the senseless act of gun violence has shaken our city and shows even in overwhelmingly safe community like berkeley, the epidemic of as we speak. and for fleet week as well. not to mention the potential for slight drizzle. that could be a possibility tonight as we roll into sunday. again, that's a slight chance of drizzle or 2, nothing to matic, but something to talk about and take a look at sunday. we're going to see again, a lot like today are going to see that fog is going to live for a little bit and it's going to come back. the good news next week as we start your work week, we're going to see seasonable temperatures. so temperatures are going to go down. but as we focus in on the fall, we've been showing you this all evening because it really is a story for tomorrow. you're going to see that fog even at 11, 15, still going to be foggy right there. the coast. it's only going to look better in inland, but really it's going to the coast. you can start to see those foggy conditions are going to get a break around 12. 45 as we fast for that clock, you can see right here at 4.45, you know, starting to see that fog again, not to mention it's going to be breezy the good news temperatures. they weren't too bad. we're right there. little at seasonal temperatures except for livermore. you're a little bit above that. but what about tomorrow? you can see oakland, 71. it's going to be sunny, san jose. 79, what about the weekend? i have your 7 day coming up next. i'm brittany thanks. a lot of petaluma police arrest 3 people. >> in connection with string of burglaries at sporting good stores across the north bay. the trio are accused of stealing from dixon's santa rosa petaluma and roseville. in the most a new obstacle has been revealed. >> the involving electric cars kron. 4 news returns in a moment. >> a week after hurricane in took lives and cause distractions throughout florida. another obstacle has been revealed this time involving electric cars. first responders say flooded electric vehicles are now catching fire. >> and putting those flames out isn't easy. brian entin has the story. >> hurricane ian was a once-in-a-century storm causing flooding like never before. on the west coast of florida. other problem with ev and the hurricane caused something else never seen before. exploding electric cars. the electric vehicles were submerged during in and the lithium ion batteries flooded with salt water from the storm surge. now they are catching fire. what's making these electric vehicles basically explode? >> i so you have the stored energy in the batteries that just because a vehicle submerged doesn't mean that energy is discharged any way anytime you mix, you electrical components and salt water together. it is a recipe for disaster. >> north collier fire district had to cut open a tesla and spray down the battery that was on fire. just this fire department says they've had happened 4 times in one week. >> i think that as we moved over to electric vehicles, this is the first time we've seen anything like this. >> issue is the batteries in the car can reignite over and over again. florida state fire marshal jimmy patronis as it takes a lot of water and foam to put them out for good with the ev technology being so new. do you think we should be concerned? >> i do. i do. so here's here's what is. it was a natural disaster and we learn something from every single natural disaster. we truly do. and what we are learning from this one is as evs are not compatible with salt water. >> when they become an operable when they have short when they have corrosion issues. and therein and they're actually in your garage as a lot of cars were because of this storm surge event, they become now a fire hazard for your house. >> that was brian entin reporting for us. this is a live look. >> at the golden gate bridge at this hour. fog still hanging around. yeah, it doesn't look like it's going to go anywhere, it just does not there. >> morning interesting. that is really the theme, especially on fleet week. we're all asking when is the fog and give us a break. it's going to give us a break and we'll break it down for you. but happening now, we're still watching. >> a slow drive times earlier. we had 5.80, all lanes blocked right there at high street. we had an suv fire. we know right now that 2 lanes are open. i just checked in again. what's happening? you're still going to see those delays for the next hour. there are actually clearing brush near 5 80's here. still going to see traffic right here at 15 miles per hour. so if you usually take 5.80, westbound right there at high street, you're going to still see traffic building. you can always take 13 are 8.80. if you're going to be up late tonight, taking a look at. yes, it is all about the fog and fleet week as we plan your day. and i want to check it for you hour by hour. we're going to the same tomorrow for you as well. so we're going to see those foggy conditions as you wake up a lot like today as we fast for it at 4.45, we're going to yeah, we're going to start to see again, the foggy conditions. so around 11 o'clock, we're going to break. and then it's foggy conditions right there on the coast are going to continue. same story at 5 o'clock. we're going to see foggy conditions and things will start to look better around. 9 o'clock future cast winds for tomorrow. if you are going to be watching fleet yeah, it's going to be gusty winds. you can see that right here, especially in places like fairfield concord, oakland, and even hayward. so we're going to see foggy conditions and those breezy conditions as well. high temperatures for tomorrow. i think it's going take cooler than yesterday. and today. morgan hill, 87 san jose. 77, we have seasonable temperatures again. it is october livermore. you're a little above average for tomorrow. 86 to the north napa. 76 in santa rosa hour. looking at 76. so again, that 7 day forecast shows you yes, ocaober inland, tomorrow, 86, but it's going to be breezy. it's going to be the bay. 67, the coast. 61. and then monday, tuesday, wednesday, thursday, friday, we're going to see the october weather. i guess, you know, but then we're going to get up just a little bit for the weekend. but really, it's that fog and joy, if i wasn't doing it for my family as much as i love making wine, i love. >> making wine that i, you know, represents our family last couple of years. mother nature has thrown a few curve their way. the lightning complex fires of 2020, 2020, we we actually didn't even make just because of the smoke that was in the air this year. we're a multi-day triple digit heat wave followed by rain association. he says they're all working on ways to adjust we just these need to continue to be at the forefront of finding ways to handle. >> a little bit more weather situation as our hot weather gets hotter, shade cloths like these help protect some of the grapes on the property. >> from harsh sunlight and the vineyard for trying different things. this year. we used a lot more shade plot that you get asking before the heat, what they were predicting, what did occur with over 110 in some areas 120 in other areas. i was a little bit worried. but the cabernet napa cab really withstands the heat and withstood this heat spell really nicely. it just kind of made things happen. maybe 10 days earlier than we really thought they would. >> once the picking began the grapes going half ton bins before being poured into the machine for processing. sheen helps weed out any dogs. some doubling. that's something like this is not awful. obvious. you can see there's >> weny of juice in there. so
