The suspects drove a car through a wall of glass windows and inside of the building, damaging countertops products and freezers. So far repair crews are estimating its going to cost more than 100,000 to fix and a lot of time. Its she like you dont expect that. You think just just dont expect someone to do that for special little over time. You can see the extensive damage inside of the ice cream shop flavor brigade near fruitvale avenue and macarthur boulevard in oakland owner Braden Galloway says he was shocked by the destruction and then by the security video in the video, you can see a car press up against the front glass window until it shatters as the footage continues. You see 2 people ransacked the shop, then the driver of the vehicle backs through the shop, damaging counters in the process and knocking the atm off the wall. They ended up stealing the which had about 530 a month. Just theres nothing the owners say they filed a Police Report with the Oakland Police department. They say the suspects only stole about 500, but it will cost a small fortune to fix the store. Not to mention all the lost business during the repair. Its why why would you do this . If you get sense . It seems like a tanker, a big corporation3 what did you think away . Says flavor brigade has been at this location for 12 years. He says they had very few burglaries in the first decade. But recently crime has gotten worse. We have to other burglaries earlier year. I believe that these guys, at least one of them was in people are trying to raise money to help the shop owners. Galloway says the community is why theyre going to stay in oakland and rebuilt the day it happened. One man is dead. 2 others injured after a shooting in marin city. It happened just after 10 oclock this morning near cole drive. The marin county sheriff says when they arrived, they found a victim shot inside of a car. First responders attempted cpr and rushed the man to the hospital, but he died. Deputies say the other 2 victims are expected to survive. Neighbors tell us violenee has gotten worse in recent years. I want safety for the kids. This is ridiculous. Thank his that have to go through this to kids at lose their moms and their dads and their family. Everybody. Lets read. Its ridiculous. And its really sites depressed. Deputies have not released the victims names or given any information about potential suspects. If you have any information about this shooting or maybe some Surveillance Footage of it. You are asked to contact the marin county sheriff. On the peninsula, San Mateo Police are investigating a series of earlymorning attempted breakins. Police say at least 4 homes in cars were targeted on sylvan avenue last week and one attempt investigators say a resident woke up to the sound of their fence gate opening and closing so far. Police have not been able to locate any suspects. They are asking people in the community to stay on alert. Were also following developing news out of Southern California tonight. 2 people are dead, 5 others injured after a shooting near a car show at peck park in los angeles, san pedro neighborhood. It happened just before 4 oclock this afternoon. Still unclear how many shooters there were. But police do say there were at least 2. The shooting was apparently a dispute between 2 parties. This was not a random attack. 2 of the people taken to the hospital were taken in full arrest. There were at least 500 people in the park at the time of the shooting. Well, were continuing to follow the oak fire burning tonight, out of control in Mariposa County in the town of midpines. That fire has burned more than 14,000 acres since it first sparked on friday. Already destroying at least 10 buildings and damaging 5 others. Thousands of people remain evacuated as firefighters are working to fight this dangerous wildfire Rowena Shaddox reports. As you watch these flames burned, there is 0 containment on fire which has burned more than 14,000 acres. It has prompted an air quality advisory, the bay area air Quality Management district says the smoke is expected to remain aloft and will create some smoky hazy skies across the bay. The smell of smoke also possible, particularly at our higher elevations. Residents are advised to avoid exposure by staying inside if possible. You got to keep your windows and your doors closed until that smoke subsides. There is not a spare the air alert in effect, but this is something you should be aware of for tomorrow. Yeah, but it is going to arrive overnight impacting your monday morning specifically for those of you in the north bay and east bay going to see moderate air particles with that smoke and ash making its way into the bay area. So even though we dont have any major fires burning in and around the bay area, that oak fire still close enough. And with that change in wind direction out of the south and west, it is going to allow for that smoke and haze to make its way into the bay area tomorrow, far north and along the coast, moderate air particles for east bay valleys as well. We are going to see those moderate air particles as well for downtown San Francisco and oakland that smoke and ash going to shove southward by tuesday morning. So just keep that in mind right now. Air quality pretty good, but around the bay area shoreline, we are tracking some moderate air particles out there this evening for your sunday night when tracker for tracking more of those northwesterly breezes along the coast and east bay shoreline. Starting to notice some relief for our warmest inland valleys in concord and livermore. But we are going to see some very unstable atmosphere making its way into the bay area starting monday night after midnight through tuesday morning, north and east bay valleys. You actually have a slight chance of popup thunderstorms because of that monsoonal moisture and that mugginess going to stick around for most of this week with an increase in cloud cover as more monsoonal moisture from the south starts to make its way northward in the bay area on saturday and sunday. Theyre pretty beat up and they really need replacing francisco public works has placed 6 trashcan models across the city. Part of a Pilot Program hoping City Residents will weigh in and help them pick San Franciscos new trash can. If theyre going to we need more. Add time and ive seen a few like overflowing not and seeing them in a fever, which it would be solved by having more current plan calls for purchasing of 3,000 new cans. The city says all of the new models are easier to maintain. Then the renaissance. But just one week into the program, new cans grouping they can solve all problems. It doesnt seem that functional. I yeah, it doesnt provide trash can but not a lot of punch. Now, john logan, after getting one look at the overflowing stop square model on the corner of center and do more streets. We are tracking some changes in the extended forecast by tuesday. We could see this monsoonal moisture streaming through our north bay and east bay valleys. But from now, until then, we have another round of widespread drizzle right along the coast. Bringing us traces amount of rain even extending into the east bay shoreline. But it is going to be the very unstable atmosphere with that monsoonal moisture that could bring us some very active weather starting overnight monday after midnight through your tuesday morning, specifically for our north and east bay valleys. Moisture starved storm so we could see dry lightning that could ignite fires. And any of those outflow winds that are created by those thunderstorms could help spread of fire of any do spark because really not expecting at that much married, really just down verse if any thunderstorms do form. With the 45th annual San Francisco marathon took place today along the citys waterfront. Event organizers say this years race was the biggest ever with 25,000 participants. There are also new registration options making this years race that much more special for the first time participants had the option of entering into the nonbinary plus division count callum mia was the first person to cross the finish line in the category. They tell kron 4 news that day are hoping that this new category will welcome other trans runners. I really hoping that i get. And opening up a little bit more space for other trans and nonbinary run is by being here. Organizers also added guides duo teams and Service Animals with runners with disabilities. Dozens of people gathered on the peninsula today to protest the closure of a warm water therapy facility operated by sutter health, the mickelson therapy pool in san mateo is the only fully accessible, warm water therapy pool on the peninsula. Supervisor david can up and joined the raging grannies for the protest. They say theyre having difficulties finding a local option for warm water therapy. The closure is impacting deeply vulnerable populations, including disabled children who no longer have access to the facility. Metro fire says there was a significant fire burning in the attic of a 2 story Apartment Building and foothill farms. The fortyniners report to Training Camp on tuesday. One of the most beautiful car racing venues in the United States is right in our backyard. And this weekend, sonoma raceway was buzzing with the nhra drag racing series a number of newark, how bread drivers were on hand that the track this week, including robert hight, a former car mechanic turn 3 time world champ and current nhra points leader in funny car. I spoke with height earlier this week to learn more about what drives this top tier driver. Lets start how you got into racing. My understanding is that you kind of had a unique app. Yeah, most most of the drivers, you know, started in the lower classes and work their way up. In fact, my daughter, shes when she was 8 years old. She started in junior drag racing. And you know, thats shes got way its just way more experience driving 100 adults. I started as i was a mechanic for 12, 13 years. My way up to being a driver john force gave me the opportunity to drive. So im very, very fortunate to be on a great team like this. And its just been its just been that its crazy how the success weve had so very, very fortunate. Do you think that john force kind of saw something in . You are had he had you taken a couple practice, been around the track or what . What made him believe that you have the ability to do this at this level . I think it was more me banging him to give me a shot. You know, i i push pretty hard to miss. You know, again, you have to believe in yourself and honestly thought i could do it and he was he gave me the opportunity. And and thats not very many people and do that. So i held on a lot and more still, you know, 10 to this day were teammates, but we still raced against each other. Thats kind of an unusual relationship. Whats that like to, you know, want to root for someone but also to try to make sure that youre winning as much as possible too. Its hard race, john, because like i said, you gave me this opportunity. So i dont think that i have the eye of the tiger. And, you know, you you dont want to crushing like you do. The other guys are competitors right . It kind of goes back and forth last weekend in denver. I beat him. And you know, hes hes beat me a lot to. One thing about having a multiple car team as we work together, we share the data and 2 cars are better than you you learn more twice twice. A learning curve. His car set up lot like mine and vice versa. Before you became a driver, how did you know that you would be good at this . What are the particular skills that you possess that have made us successful driver . I wish i knew i think i think anybody can do this. I dont think i dont think i think anybody that has the desire and the opportunity can do this if they want to work hard. And, you know, i think being able to understand how the car works when you know the mechanical side, understanding every single position on the current how to build a car from, you know, ground up. I think that helped me become a driver because, you know, i like i said earlier, i didnt have the luxury you know, going through the ranks and and woeking my way up. So and i still get involved you know what theyre doing with the car. And i like to get my hands dirty with the team and show them that, you im one of them. Well, youre the president of john force racing. Is that right . Also . How do you balance those responsibilities with your responsibilities as an athlete . I think i learned from john, you know, john started this organization. Just had one car and did everything himself. And you know, hes hes getting older. Our teams getting bigger and he needed some help. So i wanted to pitch in and, you know, get back to what hes given me.
