doppler radar. there are a few shower that moved through today. showers continue now but are more scattered. there's another storm just off shore that is headed our way. we'll have details coming up in a few minutes (pam) we are already seeing a whole lot of problems.... power outages and downed power lines... all across the bay area... trees falling on top of homes and businesses... causing major damage... and people in the north bay and south bay continuing to deal with major flooding on the roads. (grant) the biggest problem has been in the east bay... three homes have been red tagged after sizable mudslide came crashing down in the oakland hills... the slide also impacted an east-bay-mud service line... leaving more than 20 homes without water all day. kron4's lydia pantazes is in the oakland hills to explain how bad the damage is. (pkg)"it started coming down our yard really fast."a sea of mud filled this backyard on banning drive in the oakland hills... forcing people like barbara stone to get out."you have to evacuate immediately, just get some stuff and really quickly have to be out."other people we spoke to weren't home when the mud came crashing down...but saw the aftermath."i was taken aback when i walked up the stairs and my worst fears were realized, i knew that this was the home that had been ransacked by the mud. it's cognitive distance, who wants to see a pool of mud in their home."the landslide occurred at about 6pm thursday night.... mud reached between 4 and five feet against the back walls of at least two homes on banning...portions of aitken drive above banning also severely damaged and too hazardous to use."watch your step."but just 3 houses down from the damage...."there's nothing visible."glenn arriola house untouched by the mudslide.but he knows anything could happen especially with more rain on the way and he's has a plan... just in case. "we're going to get the heck out of town.."his family is all packed up....ready to go at moments notice."just in case any emergency crews say that we can't stay here we have a plan to be out of town and not be around, other than that, i think we'll be fine." (grant) crews worked all morning to remove a tree that came crashing down on a fast food restaurant in the east bay. last night's powerful winds forced this tree to fall right onto the k-f-c on thornton avenue in newark. several people passing by stopped today to take pictures. it was a spectacle... the large trunk suspended in air - and the rest caving in the roof. tony kope, newark resident: "i have never seen anything like this." (grant) the fast food restaurant was red tagged.there is no word on when it will re-open. (pam) a group of volunteers was out today in benicia, searching for any sign of a missing san jose state university student... he was last seen near the benicia- martinez bridge yesterday morning. 23-year-old kevin redrico ... left his home in vallejo thursday morning... and was last seen getting out of his 20-14 red honda accord in benicia. after his car was located near the bridge... police launched a search by helicopter and boat. volunteers have been searching the area on foot ever since. redrico was wearing black clothing when he left home. (pam) the man who police say, shot and killed a woman while she sat in a car with her two young sons in richmond, was charged with murder today. the judge set bail for lawyer mcbride ... at three- point- one million dollars. he is alleged to have shot his ex -girlfriend, rashanda franklin, after the two had an altercation. police say, franklin's two boys under the age of ten, were in the car with their mother when mcbride fired the fatal shots. 43-year-old mcbride is scheduled to appear in contra costa county superior court in richmond, on monday. (pam) a bizarre story out of san bruno... where a dismembered body was found in a home... (grant) investigators ástill have not identified the body ..but san bruno police have arrested a man for murder...(pam) the san bruno home is just down the street from where police are also searching for a missing man .... and now, it appears the two cases are connected. kron 4's dan kerman ... in san bruno with the details. (dan kerman)it's here at this home in san bruno home where police found a dismembered body thursday some of it inside and some in the backyard. the man who lives here david stubblefield has now been arrested on a variety of charges including murder.sot it is so shockingneighbors say in the last few weeks the suspect put up a blue tarp in front of the car part, but they couldn't explain why now they are confronted with what's happened to their once peaceful neighborhoodsot loida magat/suspect's neighbor 28-38 no fear whatsoever, but now we are afraid of what's going on. police initially made contact with stubblefield as part of a missing persons investigation. neighbors say the man who lives down the street in this home has not been seen for several weeks but they have seen stubblefield outside the home, and driving the missing man's truck sot jose aguirre/neighbor of missing man 59-108he told me he was taking care of ben's business because ben was in santa cruz taking care of a sick friend. police have not confirmed stubbfield knew the missing man or was taking care of his business. they simply say the missing man is still missing. sotmy daughter is very scared and so my wife and i too because it's a neighbor and we knew him for a long time standup dan kerman/san bruno 129-139police have also not confirmed whether the missing man is the same person who's dismembered body was found in the home. neighbors also tell us the suspect lived with an older woman, who also hasn't been seen in months153/std (pam) coming up on kron4 news at ten... something new is coming to disneyworld... the new technology you may see roaming the park... (grant) joining us now is meteorologist lawrence karnow.. larrence, how long is this wind going to last... lawrence karnow: it has been an incredible rain season and it's still going. one of the strongest april storms in recent memory moved through last night with heavy rain and winds gusting over 50 mph. we've head showers throughout the day but another storm is about to move on shore. you can see the rain on our doppler radar. there are pockets of heavier rain in yellow and orange. we could see a few isolated thunderstorms too. you can see the huge storm on our satellite image. the main front moved through last night. but behind it there is another system you can see here. that will move in tonight and the rain and wind will pick up again but it won't be as strong as last night. heavy snow continues in the sierra with another 2 to 3 feet possible above 6,000 feet. winter storm warnings are in effect until 6 pm saturday night. we will continue to see more rain here. you can see it on our computer model moving in tonight. we could see another half and inch of rain in the wettest spots. highs tomorrow will be unseasonably cool and mainly in the mid 50s to low 60s. on the 7 day forecast showers continue on saturday. it will be dry on sunday and monday. but then the weather becomes unsettled again with more rain possible late on tuesday. (pam) and after the break ... the san francisco 49ers cutting yet ááanother player... arrested for domestic violence... how fans are reacting to the latest black eye of the team.... after one of its worst seasons in history, the 49ers are dealing with more bad news. today the team released cornerback tramaine brockhours after he was arrested for domestic violence. kron four's spencer blake has details of the arrest, and explains why this problem is not a new one for the niners. santa clara police say 49ers cornerback tramaine brock is the suspect in a felony domestic violence case. thursday night, they responded to a 9-1-1 call and found a woman who had visible injuries. "what it is, it's like, 'another one?!' i thought this was over. it's been a common theme."they arrested brock on suspicion of felony domestic violence.he's now in the santa clara county jail."as an organization the 49ers acted pretty quickly. by 3:00 friday, brock was no longer part of the team."the one sentence news release said, quote "the san francisco 49ers today announced they have released c-b tramaine brock." (pam) a tree falls on a home in benicia - with two people inside ... sending one woman to the hospital. the woman is expected to be okay... but she got a pretty big gash on her head... the other person did not get hurt. you're looking at video showing just how massive this tree is. it crushed almost the entire home... just the garage is left. a neighbor says, after the tree fell, the two people were seen climbing out from under the branches ... there is extensive damage ... at least three other trees fell in benicia overnight. ((pam))wild wind, downed trees and flooded roads...the bay area is bearing the brunt of a fierce spring storm.thanks for joining us at eleven..i'm pam moore.((grant))and i'm grant lodes is for steve aveson. much of the region..getting pounding right now by another round of rain.the big question at this hour...will the wet weather spoil your weekend plans.((pam))meteorologist lawrence karnow is tracking the conditions...lawrence? lawrence karnow: it has been an incredible rain season and it's still going. one of the strongest april storms in recent memory moved through last night with heavy rain and winds gusting over 50 mph. we've head showers throughout the day but another storm is about to move on shore. you can see the rain on our doppler radar. there are a few shower that moved through today. showers continue now but are more scattered. there's another storm just off shore that is headed our way. we'll have details coming up in a few minutes ((grant)) the biggest problem has been in the east bay... three homes have been red tagged after sizable mudslide came crashing down in the oakland hills...((pam)) the slide also impacted an east-bay-mud service line... leaving more than 20 homes without water all day. kron4's lydia pantazes shows us just how bad the damage is.
