(steve) the republican replacement bill for obamacare is facing even more scrutiny. (grant) today..the congressional budge office predicted over twenty million fewer people would have health insurance in 2018. (steve) at ten we are tracking local reaction.. first reporter scott mcclean is in washington with what you need to know. the congressional budget office says the republican healthcare plan will reduce the federal budget...and premiums eventually.... but it will also massively reduce the number of people who are covered by health insurance. according to the numbers released monday afternoon, the gop plan will reduce the federal defecit by 337 billion dollars over the next decade... but, by 2018, 14 million fewer people will be covered... and by 2026, 24 million fewer people.the budget office also predicted healthcare premiums would rise for the next three years... before dropping in 2020... in ten years, average health care premiums will actually be 10 per cent less expensive than they would be if obamacare remained in effect. republicans-who spent the weekend preemptively trying to discredit the cbo, today had a similar message tom price/health and human services secretary: "we disagree strenuously with the report that was put out. we believe our plan will cover more individuals at a lower cost and give them the choices they want for the coverage that they want for themselves and their families, not that the government forces them to buy." before this report came out, the white house was downplaying the importance of it. pointing to differences between the budget's office projections on obamacare and what the impact has actually been. house speaker paul ryan took issue with the prediction for when premiums would drop .. and said it should not come as a suprise that fewer people are covered because there's no mandate people people to buy health insurance. meanwhile, democrats were quick to hold up the report as proof that poorer americans would be worse off under the gop bill. sen. chuck schumer/-d- minority leader: " the only winners in this cbo report are the health insurance executives and the wealthy americans. everyone else gets a cold shoulder from the republicans in congress and from president trump." republicans may disagree with the report, but they're not outright dismissing it.... paul ryan even said he was encouraged by it. on the other side of the coin -- senator lindsay graham said even if the report is only half right, it's not good news... there are no signs, that gop leadership is rethinking the bill... but this report will further complicate their efforts at selling skeptical republicans on it. in washington, im scott mclean. (steve) our team coverage continues....today kron4's spencer blake spoke with worried people in marin county. and with their congressional representative about potential impacts of 'trumpcare' that could be felt locally. at the marin county civic center, more than two thousand people showed up monday to hear from representative jared huffman about the proposed new healthcare bill."this republican plan is full of holes. when donald trump told the joint session of congress, 'nobody will lose their insurance, the care's gonna be great, it's gonna be affordable.' that can't be reconciled with this plan that they're moving forward."that plan could take away coverage from 14 million americans in just the next yearand even more in years to come.ken burgess has been at the pineride care center in san rafael for a year and a half, after he was diagnosed with several types of cancer.he's on medical right now, but for others, cancer treatments could cost 30 to 50 thousand dollars a month."ya know, it could put anybody under overnight."his main concerns about the new bill is that there doesn't seem to have been any house debate about itand when there is, burgess feels like neither side is willing to give.on top of it all"such a tight lip within what all of these bills actually contain so that nobody gets to see 'em."that's why the assertion from the non- partisan congressional budget office today made so many waves.republicans tout another prediction from the c-b-o - that the american health care act would reduce the federal deficit by 337 billion dollars in ten years.but the potential loss of medicaid expansion means tens of thousands of people - even in ág-o-p congressional districts in california - could lose coverage."we're already seeing some republicans beginning to distance themselves from this bill because they're hearing from real people in their own districts that are gonna be hammered."burgess, who likes the idea of more competition, does think there's such a thing as átoo manyá healthcare options."at which point is it going to be up to me to have to say, 'well which one of these 15 plans is best for me?'"in marin county, spencer blake, kron four news. (grant) a fire-- led to the death of a fire lieutenant and a young girl...authorities believe a hoverboard sparked the blaze. officials say the hoverboard was charging when it caught fire at the home in harrisburg pennsylvania. there were several kids inside. one young girl jumped off a second-story porch to escape the flames... crews resuced two other girls using a ladder. one of the victims-- just three-years- old-- later died at the hospital. officials say two of the girls are in critical condition. the girl's father and a teenage boy...who were also home.. were treated for smoke inhalation.... and released. unfortunately... one firefighter-- called to the scene-- did not make it. (baby cries) be sure the chord is not wrapped around the baby's neck. the paramedics are here. they're there? yeah we're here. congratulations folks. i'm going to go ahead and hang up.(dispatcher boss) the good news is there was a healthy baby and she was born. mom and dad are ok, and so is the baby and it all worked out. (steve) thanks gary.. here's what's next... coming upyou've seen the garbage that surrounds the shoes and clothes donations bins if they have stuff to trow away they just come and bring it here and throw it away you might be surprised at what people are putting inside i'll explain in the next edition of people behaving badly ((grant))they are scattered all around the bay area. they are donation boxes, many people use them to get rid of a their unwanted items often believing they are helping a charity.((steve))but the bins are creating an eyesore in some neighborhoods because of what happens around and now apparently what's happening inside them as well ... people but it there and then they leave you know this is muhammad he owns an auto repair shop in san mateo, he allowed the placement of a shoes and clothes donation bin to be place on his property and now it is costing him i have to cut it slowly small buy small then i put it inside the trashcan there you knowthe donation bins seem to attract illegal dumping where ever they are placed so muhammad has to foot the bill to clean up the things dumped natsit's been for more than a year over in burlingame i found two more donation bins and from this angle there only appears to be the donation boxes until you walk behind them they you see a baby stroller, office chairs empty carboard boxes they come at nighttime and just like dump it in here mofa lives on the other side of san mateo just off hillsdale court near the enterprise rental car office and he is sick and tired of looking at all the garbage which gets dumped outside the bins i mean if you look it's couches.. i see couches dressers i see you know mattresses i mean i live here for four years i mean it just got worse lately in fact outside these two donation bins both cleary read shoes and clothes . not baby car seats, vacume cleaners.. ect ect however, while i was there, a white box truck pulled up and one of the workers responsible for emptying out one of the bins opens it and revealed something else nats: ambiance if it can be fit inside the bin you might just find it inside the bin while this bin had shoes and clothes, it also had not one but two kids scooters .plus a radio alarm clock a used bottle of lotion, a baseball, just to name a few items . basically if safe to say the bins are being used as garbage cans nats: ambiance i called the owner of the bin and he confirmed that people are in fact using the bins as trashcans, it kind of par for the course while i had him on the phone .i asked about all the trash on the outside, he claimed he was unaware of the trash ..but would send a worker to clean it up asap my advice, if you see these cans, call the number posted on them and tell there any problems you see with the bin . or file a formal complaint with the city you live in so code enforcement can turn up the heat . in san mateo county stanley roberts kron 4 news ((steve))violence erupts at a carnival..and it's all caught on camera.thanks for joining us at eleven...i'm steve aveson.((grant))and i'm grant lodes in for pam moore.people ransaking carnival booths, a big brawl breaks out...and nobody was arrested.((steve)) it happened in oakland over the weekend.kron 4's jr stone shows us the exclusive video. nats.cell phone video showing teenagers out of control and on the loosestealing prize after prize at the butler carnival held in east oakland this past saturday night. workers are still scared. roma at queenroma tweetedi felt like i was in the game grand theft auto. had me hopin fences, running from cops, stealing teddy bears.nats workers tell kron 4 news that most who stole prize items from the carnival then destroyed them. pieces of are still scattered in the dirt lot where the carnival was held. domestic terrorism, domestic terrorism, grand theft, nothing happened.police say the received multiple
