people and destroying close to 2,000 structures, valley fire is considered california's third worst fire in history. just this past week, the cause of the fire was released. investigators say the fire was caused by a faulty wiring circuit system from a hot tub to a home, cal fire says the homeowner admitted he installed that circuit himself. now, according to the press democrat, this home owner is challenging the findings. >> >> our meteorologist is here as we were looking at the fire that is growing tonight, what are the conditions like for firefighters? >> winds have been very breezy this afternoon. that comes on top of temperatures near triple digit heat as we head in towards the afternoon. the fire season continues to grow here and indeed, the winds whipping around the bay area on the breezy side of the afternoon. some of the gusts over 20-miles per hour locally. you get the fire going, winds kicking up and that could spread the wildfire in a hurry. that's what we have seen in lake county. it looks like we have changes in the works. low clouds of fog gathering around the coastline and we'll likely see more of fog moving in the next couple of days, bringing up the humidity. unfortunately, it will take awhile to work its way towards the interior valley that means fire conditions are ripe in those areas, guys back to you. >> >> we are keeping our eye on several other wildfires burning in the area. cal fire has made major progress on a wildfire burning near morgan hill. so far, know evacuates have been ordered and it doesn't appear any homes have been threatened at this time. so-called oak fire has consumed more than 25-acres. reservoir, santa claira county, now 75% contained. >> >> in monterrey county, firefighters are making some progress on the fire burning between camel and big sur. it's 60% contained as of tonight. cal fire is reporting that the fire is approaching more than 71,000-acres inu in size. 57 homes have been destroyed. several miles of state highway 1 just south of point sur will be closed for up to 24 hours starting tomorrow afternoon allowing for firefighters to defend a containment line. that closure will start at 2:00 from the point sur light station to coast ridge road. >> >> the wildfire that is burning near the napa county line tonight is fully contained. this is video from when the fire wassed a its peak. the fire started last tuesday just south of highway 128 west of the town of winter. it burned just under nine square miles. it is bigger than the city of san francisco. two buildings were destroyed, firefighters on the scene putting out what is left of the fire making sure no hot spots start to flare-up the cause of this fire is under investigation. i spoke with park goer as washington square park. despite the horrific news, they will continue to enjoy the park until the incident is investigated. many people enjoyed their saturday beneath the trees at washington square park. despite tragic news of a 36- year-old woman struck by a branch friday afternoon just after 3:00. san francisco police say it fell 15 feet from a pine tree and weighed near 100-pounds. . the one woman said she heard this happened at the park before. >> reporter: despite that, parkgoers consider this to be a freak accident >> absolutely not. i think i would continue to hang out untrees. it that happens to me, it's a bumper. >> she was unlucky, but i'm not going to go out into the world and be afraid of falling trees. >> reporter: since then, the tree branch has been removed and the area cleared. despite the chance of another falling, parkgoers leave the worry up to the city. >> that's exactly what they are going to do in a statement released by the mayor. he said there will be free crews reviewing all of the branches at washington square park to make sure they are not susceptible to falling, as we saw, while the city continues to investigate. >> >> happening, now, police in dublin are looking for a child they say was abducted. we have a picture of the boy. he is seven years old. police say the boy was taken from the home in dublin around 7:00 tonight. officers believe the boy is with this woman, kristin jewels. his biological mother, but she does not have legal custody of the boy. they are beefed to be in a beige 1998 lincoln mark 5. officers are telling us they believe they are heading either to sacramento or larry county, tonight anyone with information is asked to call the police. a man in concorde contacted us after he said he got something dangerous in the mail. >> it came in a notice from the irs, which can be scary enough as it is, but it was a razor blade in the envelope. this is a story you will only see on "kron" 4 news. just when you think a paper cut is the worst thing that can happen to you when you open your mail >> there is a razor blade in the mail coming from the irs. >> >> reporter: jeremiah clark did not get sliced by it, but is he wondering how it got if there to begin with. hopefully, it's awe random fluke. >> razors can be sent through the u.s. postal service, but only if the blade is wrapped or covered. >> we didn't notice it. >> reporter: clark doesn't think it was anything malicious, but filed a police report to cover all of his bases. >> what i can do -- do you want me to open this? are you concerned about this razor.? >> since i know what's in there, it's not a issue. >> police directed clark to the irs for any answers. >> whoever packages these for the irs would be the ones you would ask. >> the letter is something the clarks were expecking and the rest of the envelope looks completely normal. they don't think it was someone trying to play a trick. >> you see something strange, bring it to the attention -- hopefully, let someone know this is out there. >> as far as we know this is an isolated incident. this is not quite the type of tax cut he was looking for. spencer blake, "kron" 4 news. a woman taken to the hospital by helicopter. she had life-threatening injuries police are still searching for the driver in this crash. >> >> a warning tonight from police in the east bay. they tell us someone is going around shooting people with a bb gun. police believe the shots were fired from this car that you are looking at now, a 2013 jeep cherokee. the latest shooting was captured by surveillance camera and it happened near east 14th and 159th avenue. police believe that the shooter might be as young as 13 years old. there were three other people in the car. they believe police tell us that a woman was driving the car. police say that the license plate -- they don't have a really good read on it, but they believe it begins with the number 7. >> >> string of bb related shootings. first, there were buildings, these were the culprits targeting those cars and bill willings. now, it has turned into people getting shot at by a pellet gun. police released these images in an effort to fine the people they believe is responsible police say the suspects are usually driving around in a light-colored s.u.v. to national news, dramatic rescue caught on cam a you see here, this video shows a last- minute rescue during the deadly flooding in louisiana rescuers came across a woman stuck in a sinking car in baton rouge, to day. they tried to break a car window, but they couldn't, one of the rescuers jumped into the water, pulled the woman out just before the car went under. she told the rescuers her dog was still in the vehicle. the man in the water took one more dive in, came back up with the dog that you see light there. >> the woman and her pup appeared to be okay. >> flash flood warnings continue in louisiana as more rain is expected throughout the rest of the weekend. >> devastating floods have killed at least three people. mary maloney reports. >> everybody is saying this is the worst they have ever seen. >> reporter: days of relentless downpours forced residents to take whatever belongings they could and travel to safer ground. >> my heart is broken. there are so many elderly people here. the water is literally up to their waist. that means their houses, everything to do that. if you are being advised to do that. stay off the road if you don't have to be on it. >> families that have already evacuated are now forced to tough it out in temporary shelters. we woke because of recent polling here's where we stand. clinton has a projected 293 elect votes, trump 18. pennsylvania is trump's biggest worry, without it, it's very difficult for him to win the white house. house minority leader, nancy pelosi said she received numerous obscene voice-mail and text messages after a hacker strikes the democrats once again. the hacker released over 20,000 e-mails of democratic national committee members to wiki leaks and hundreds of phone numbers in the house. he has released the information of the staff and campaign aides, federal investigators are looking into the hack, but pelosi said she is changing her phone number and advising her colleagues to do the same >> joe bind en's office confirms the vice president will visit turkey later this mon, the heightest level american to the country since a failed koop attack in july. more than 200 people were killed in the attempt to overthrow turkey's president and his government. u.s. government condemned the koop attack and defied any involvement. turkish officials claim the u.s. and other western countries have not been forceful enough >> we'll turn now to our meteorologist, woe is here. we were shored the horrible video of saving that dog. amazing. how are things down there, tonight? >> they received more rainfall than we have received in an entire year in the last 24-48 hours. impressive amounts of rainfall. low pressure stalls off over louisiana, spiraling, all of the moisture pulling it in out of the gulf of mexico and right into louisiana. tremendous amounts of rainfall and more rain is on the way, flood warns are up just about everywhere you go central part, flash flood watches are up elsewhere, many of these rivers are still overflowing and will continue to rise over the next 24 hours. we still have more rain to contend with. you can see -- backing out of texas, pulling up more of the moisture through louisiana, so, it's not going to take much more. the ground is sat raids. they will continue to see more flooding there. in california, we have a whole different story. hot inland and patchy fog. moving along the coastline. you can see it's not going to make its way all the way inland. with that in mind, patchy fog. coastal breeze continuing tomorrow, mostly sunny. more fog along the coastline. this week, kind of up and down, warmer temperatures toward the middle of the week before we cool back down as we led into next weekend. temperatures getting hot, 98 in livermore. well above the average. 89 in santa rosa. 69 in san francisco and 75 in oakland. air quality, today was another spare the air day. i think the sea breeze will usher in some nice clean air off the ocean waters, helping to cool down the temperatures. numbers out the door, 72 degrees in san jose. 76, warm in livermore. 60 degrees in oakland. 57 degrees in sfo. we are looking at a nice evening on tap. patchy fog gathering, looks like more than on the way after midnight. high pressure in control, that is the going to bring with us, hot weather into the central valley, plan on triple digit heat there, as you head to the high country, looking good toward lake tahoe. temperatures into the 80s, very comfortable. locally, we'll see some 80s in the south bay. lots of sunshine as we head in towards san francisco, starting out partially cloudy, breezy, temperatures, fairly cool. looking to oakland, mostly sunny, mild, patchy morning fog. . looks like why will cool down the temperatures before heating up into the triple digit heat. we'll breakdown temperatures all around the bay for you. >> >> firefighters if pleasantton had their hands full this morning after a fawn was trapped in an iron fence. firefighters at the livermore pleasantton fire department tweeted out this photo. they were called to 12 oaks drive for a fawn that had been trapped in the fence for at least four hours, rescue crews used airbags to actually spread the fence bars far enough apart to free the fawn and the animal ran away, after being freed. >> >> in sunnyville, a man being called a hero after police say he stopped and took down a man who was sexually assaulting a woman. milely suspect something is wrong, get the child off the field, immediately and get them assessed. >> reporter: his assessment includes checking for eye coordination. >> often after concussions, the eye is moving, jerking fashion rather tan smoothly. look right at me. >> reporter: volunteering for this demonstration, balance also part of a doctor's visit. >> perfect. >> mom, heather, says so far, no injuries for lian since playing ice hockey, basketball and soccer. >> as a mother, you always juan to learn about it, it's always in the back of your head about them getting hurt. >> reporter: if needed, an image of the brain can be part of the process to rule out bleeding. >> especially in young people because we know the brain is still developing. >> the doctor recommends engineering it before the child suits up. >> you have to listen to key words, "i'm going to make your child tough." when you start to hear words like that, get your kid out of there. >> reporter: for high schoolers. >> is there a licensed health care professional in some way associated with that? >> parents should be mindful and advocate for their athlete. >> according to the cdc, cases of concussions have continued to climb over the last decade. >> >> here are some of the stories we are tracking for you tonight at 10:00. someone opened fire this afternoon at a mall in north carolina. officials say the situation is now, back to normal. >> it was terrifying. it happened at the crabtree mall in raleigh this afternoon at least one gunshot was fired. shoppers were racing to get away. police later secured the paul and evacuated it. so far, for suspects have been identified and no injuries have been reported. you can see people that were there absolutely terrified. >> >> keny baker, the british actor that played the loveable role of r2d2 in star war films died today at the age of 81. baker's nephew found him dead in his home in northwest england. he suffered lung problems in the last few wheels and had been confined to a we will chair. he rose to fame in 1977 when he took on the role of r2dt. he returned for empire strikes back and return of the jedi. he what 81 years old. covering california, the mother of a 14-year-old boy shot and killed by los angeles police is asking that body camera footage of the incident be released. >> >> jessie wassed earlier this week, lapd was responding to a call regarding possible vandalism and drugs. a witness saw him shoot a handgun in the officers's direction. and the officer returned fire. his mother said a second witness is reporting seeing her son throw the gun away before being shot. she has hired an attorney and is demanding that the l.a.p.d. release there body camera footage. >> we know that the officers were wearing body cameras. we want to see the videotaped images from body cameras. we want to see what it was the officers saw at the time they were shooting the gun at this young man. >> police say the footage is part of the investigation. a handgun was found near the boy and is being tested for dna and fingerprints. >> >> california's roads could be getting even greener in a few years. state lawmakers proposing legislation requiring 15% of all-new vehicles sold in the state be emission free. automakers would face fines or have to make payments to their rivals. deadline would be the year 2025. this is separate from the light mate change law that could reduce the state's green house gas emissions by 2030. >> >> the search continues for a driver that opened fire on an s.u.v. during a road rage incident in southern california. authorities say the road rage was sparked by windsheild wiper fluid. from our partners at cnn, else sarah moan has this story. >> reporter: the driver in the honda civic jerked out of his lane and whipped around to the passenger side of the white s.u.v. the family inside of the s.u.v. had no idea the simple act of spraying washer fluid would make the driver of the honda behind them so angry when some of the fluid got on his car. the driver of the honda tried to yell at the family inside. the s.u.v. drivers tried everything they can to shake the enraged man. they brake to slow down, speed up. the honda driver even appears to push them to the center island in the road and then the honda driver fires two shots. one bullet blows out the front passenger tire of the s.u.v., forcing it to stop in the middle of the road. the honda driver speeds away. >> many road rage incidents starts out with two angry parties. there doesn't appear to be that way in this situation. >> reporter: right next to canyon country park where michelle and her children come to play soccer. >> i want to see woe it is. if they are in my neighborhood, i want to know. >> they were lucky a driver happened to capture the shooting on their dash cam came forward to help find this shooter. blah l.a. county officials are saying no one was actually hurt in that incident. >> >> "kron" high pressure in control, going to see some minor fluctuations as we head in the next couple of days. a little trough that may cool down the temperatures a little bit towards the beginning of the week. after that, we start to heat back up low clouds and fog into the bay. confined by 9:00 tomorrow morning and then as we head towards the afternoon. fog will sit along the coastline, but it will be enough of a sea breeze to cool down the temperatures a little bit in the interior valleys. numbers will stay cool as you go towards the coast. 61 at twin peeks. 58 in half moon bay. further south you go, 81 degrees and warper into sunnyvale, 78 in redwood city. south bay temperatures, low to mid-80s tomorrow afternoon in many spots as you head into the east bay, getting hot in the interior valleys, not close to 100 like today 92 in concorde. 75 degrees in hayward. 70 in union city. 95, one of the warmer spots in brentwood, north bay, temperatures into the 70s and 80s in santa rosa. 60s along the coastline. 77 in napa. as we look towards the next couple of days, going to cool down towards monday, heating back with triple digit heat by the middle of the week, by the way, we were talking about sports, a game at levi stadium 4:00 tomorrow afternoon. temperatures 80 degrees, but alot of folks they still haven't gotten used to candlestick to levi stadium. i a lot hotter sitting
