"merciless" military strikes on the united states, including the possible use of "cutting- edge" nuclear weapons. the word came just hours after the pentagon unveiled plans to deploy anti=missile defenses on the pacific island of guam. despite its string of successful missile tests, pentagon analysts do not believe north korea has the technology to launch a nuclear attack on the u=s. but defense secretary chuck hagel says the u=s cannot afford to take chances. >> we take those threats seriously. we have to take those threats seriously >> this is the latest counter=move: truck mounted interceptor missiles are being moved to guam. they will supplement larger defense missiles based in alaska and hawaii. both systems are designed to home in on warheads in the upper atmosphere. according to the army's former chief intelligence officer in south korea, there is not much ogf a chance we will have to use the missile defense. it's completely rhetoric right now based on what we honda. as it was pulled from a ravine off keller avenue in the oakland hills on tuesday afternoon. moments before his car plunged over the side, police say, boyer was shot in the head as he approached the intersection in what may have been an attempted robbery. as of news time, oakland police have released no new information on any possible suspects in the case. again, quinn boyer remains in critical condition, as his family and friends pray for his recovery. >> catherine: authorities in texas are turning the state upside down - looking for leads in the murder of a county's top prosecutor and his wife. kaufman county d-a mike mclelland and his wife were shot and killed over the weekend. now - 56-year-old nick morale has been arrested for making a threatening phone call. he's accused of
